Can we please get a Cookies of Darkness update soon?
Because from what I know, we haven’t seen them since Odyssey in 2022, and we’re now on our fourth plot relevant update since then and all we’ve gotten is Dark Enchantress stealing Pitaya’s power, which wasn’t even an onscreen appearance
And yes, they could show up in the next part of the update, but the current episode has had no allusion that they’ll show up. It seems more like the antagonist is going to be Shadow Milk, so they’ll probably get a cameo at best
Not to mention at this point, I feel like the Cookies of Darkness have become significantly less of a seeming threat, at least in the eyes of the audience. Like when you have the villains of your story make a boy band, even if it is (I think) non canon and the song and outfits go hard, I feel like it can be harder to make them seem like an actual threat after that. Like at least give us something about them and what they’re doing so it can at least seem like there’s a threat looming and they have some actual intimidation

It's weird that Larian seems to show Astarion a lot of favoritism in terms of content and yet his companion storyline is such a side quest compared to all the others. As far as I'm aware he has no real connection to the mindflayers/Absolute other than the initial kidnapping/parasite insertion, which is - like - the bare minimum needed to have a connection at all.
His conflict with Cazador is such a random aside when you're in Baldur's Gate. It's like yeah I need to stop the other two Chosen, I need to solve this murder conspiracy, locate the Elder Brain, deal with Raphael, figure out what to do with the Crown of Karsus, and... oh yeah, I guess there's Astarion's thing to deal with, too.
It's hilarious, really, because it means while this one huge, world-ending event was going on there was also - by complete coincidence - an entire OTHER world-ending event happening just down the street that wasn't connected in any way. Not only is the Absolute's army on the march, but Cazador is trying to become the Vampire Ascendant at the same time and only ASTARION knows about it. Cazador is literally just some OTHER bbeg whose centuries-old plan happens to be coming to fruition the same week as the Chosen's.
I literally almost forgot to do his plotline because it had so little to do with the overarching conflict of the story. The only connection he ever really makes is with Raphael, who he needs ONCE for ONE minor thing and that's it. And Raphael isn't even that important to the Absolute plot, himself.
Astarion doesn't really have any connections with the Chosen, any other characters, any other antagonists, he's just kind of his own thing. Once you deal with Cazador he's just kind of along for the ride. Meanwhile, Wyll's father is integral to the Chosen's plan, Shadowheart has the plot McGuffin that can foil the Absolute, Lae'zel's people are sworn enemies of the mindflayers, and Gale wants the Crown of Karsus for himself, not to mention his Goddess is literally tasking him to deal with the Absolute.
Everyone else has a good reason to be there EXCEPT ASTARION. Like he's just there because he has a worm.
Anyway, rant over.

Chapter 9 of Love is in the hands
Thanks again to @bearhaviour for inspiring 50% of the nastiness of this chapter and to @fah-keet for always encouraging me to take artistic decisions that will lead me to hell.
Summary
After getting kicked out of his home for being queer, Suguru comes across his childhood sweetheart in a strange gay bar that is owned by his new “family”: a bunch of queer social rejects who were taken in by Yuki, an eccentric matriarch. He finds a new home (and his lost love) there.
Glimpse
“I don’t think I ever made someone cum that hard and that says a lot for coming from an ex professional piece of ass as myself. Are you okay?” Satoru asks.
“Still a bit overwhelmed. I’m sorry,” Suguru says, feeling gross over the mix of cum and sweat covering his body.
“It’s okay. I think I should be the one apologizing,” Satoru says with a laugh. Gently, he rubs a warm, humid towel over his partner’s bare abdomen to get rid of any trace of their previous activities.
“You were great. I just-yeah. You were great. Too great even. My skirt- Shoot.” Suguru covers his forehead with his hands and shakes his head. Suddenly his voice is tangled up again and his cheeks are wet, “I’m sorry. I don’t know what’s going on with me,” he sniffles.
“Did my dick break my boyfriend? Did these people even pay me what I was worth?” Satoru asks himself aloud. But his attempt at humor is fruitless. Suguru can’t stop sobbing.
“Suguru,” Satoru discards the towel and pulls him in a tight embrace.”What’s wrong? Is it because of your parents?” he asks against his hair while gently petting it.
“I’m fine. I just need a few minutes,” Suguru reassures in ragged breaths. What an embarrassing day for him.
“Do you think tea would help calm you down?” Satoru asks. “Lavender maybe?” he suggests. His voice is so kind, so loving and his gaze so tender that the tears threaten to flow again.
“Maybe,” Suguru says.
Satoru collects his cum stained t-shirt and shorts from the floor and slips into them. Hopefully, he won’t meet anyone on his way. “Just give me two minutes. Okay? I’ll go fetch you some. Cuddle with my Kuromi while I’m gone. She smells just like me.” He leans down for a quick forehead kiss and walks out urgently.
Indeed, Kuromi proves herself to be a great placeholder while Satoru is gone. Suguru fights against the cold by holding on tight to her, cradling her head like a human child. A few minutes later, Satoru comes back with his favorite mug, the one not even Suguru is allowed to touch, in normal circumstances at least.
“Are you sure you’re alright?” he asks as he hands it to Suguru and sits on the edge of the bed..
“Yes. I-That pounding was for the books. Are you mad at me or something?” Suguru jokes. The mug is warm against his palms.
“I just got carried away,” Satoru laughs shyly.
“Well, you might be a brute but you sure are great at aftercare. Thank you, Satoru,” Suguru says with a smile. The tears are gone.
“It’s the least I could do after making you cry. You were hot though. Super hot,” Satoru comments shamelessly.
His partner can’t help but chuckle. “I heard you the first time. You’re a sadist,” he says.
“Can’t help it.” Satoru shrugs. “I’m not really normal about you,” he admits. “Besides, you’re not especially kind to my body either.”
“Can you remove your t-shirt and turn around for me?” Suguru asks as he places the mug on the bedside table and scrawls closer to examine Satoru’s back. He traces the red stripes with the tip of his fingers, earning a slight shudder from Satoru. “Does it hurt?”
Satoru turns his head to look at him. “Nah. It’s fine. I deserved it anyways,” he reassures. “You better trim those nails though. An accident could happen.”
“Do it for me later?” Suguru asks.
“Sure.” Satoru says.
The raven scoots even closer to him, pressing his chest against his back. “I love you, Satoru. With all my heart.” he whispers against Satoru’s shoulder, nuzzling him closely.
“Why so sentimental suddenly? Are you going to cry again?” Satoru taunts.
“I'm still dick drunk. Don’t mind me,” Suguru says. “Wait,” he perks up. “ Maybe I really am a cock slut.”.
Satoru claps his hands proudly. “Congratulations, you just unlocked the skill of self awareness,” he jokes.
‘Stop teasing,” Suguru giggles, more at the memories awakened by the clapping sounds than anything else. He rubs his cheek against Satoru’s freshly shaved undercut and leaves a little kiss just underneath. “ Hey Satoru,” he calls softly. “Do you think I should try something new with my hair?”

controversial post but i think i'm just too much of an actual adult to be into hlvrai shipping. none of them are kissing on the mouth. none of em.
especially not gordon and benrey. they are however the world's worst roommate. worsties, if you will. gordon gets a notification every time he looks at that uncanny shitass gamer and it says "newsflash: the worst person you know is hysterically funny sometimes" and the funny aspect is just endearing enough that it prevents him from going entirely looney tunes insane
likewise benrey looks at him through the lens of like "man my new friend I found at the end of the world alien event is fucking mean to me sometimes for no reason. this surely has nothing to do with me, benrey, because I am normal and excellent at making friends on PSN." but also he mutually just finds him fun enough that he's genuinely distraught when it turns out gordon actually fucking hates him and isn't picking up on any of his (incomprehensible) bullshit about not wanting to be an antagonist
literally tldr: why would you ever want to make their relationship into anything else when the "wow everyone else here is so strange (mildly lovingly and also with a fair amount of dread and frustration). glad I'm the only normal person here" dynamic is there and 10x funnier than any possible outcome in which neurotic gordon freeman makes out with low res security guard
and also there are literally 3 other deranged individuals ripe for you people's enjoyment. go get them.

May I suggest promoting your book on tiktok? I say this because I always love your writing and want more people to enjoy it as well..
I don't have tiktok, And I don't honestly know what I'd post on tiktok because videos aren't my natural forte.
I would love for more people to know about and enjoy my writing too, and obviously I want to more people to read/buy my book...but also. I'm a person. You guys are people. Sure, writing is a business, especially when you get into publishing, but I also know how annoying it is to be constantly spammed with 'pay me' 'buy this' in the modern world. We're all more than that. It's not just about that.
So I wouldn't get tiktok just to promote my book. I would only get it if I thought I would a) enjoy having it and b) be able to post other stuff that I have an interest in posting that I think others might enjoy. And given my thing is writing, I don't know how to do writing in video format.

Do you mind if people share old posts from your blog, even from a year or older? I don't want to be weird.😰
saying this as genuinely and non-judgmentally/non-patronizingly as possible, I assume based on this ask that you are probably coming from a social media where it is difficult and/or considered stalkerish (twitter, instagram) or causes an actual detriment to the op's account (tiktok) to go back through and like/share someone's old posts:
tumblr is not those apps and in order for it to stay as it is, it is vital that you share the things you like on your blog. there are lots of posts out there about the tiktokification/twitterification of tumblr and how hard they've tried to push algorithms and other formats on us; this site only continues in its current format if you share posts you like so that people can continue to see them, and the creators of those posts can see that they're receiving support and continue to create.
i do not mind if you go back to my very first posts on this blog and like or reblog them, that's fine. you don't even have to go back to the source to reblog it. i don't care how far back you go on my blog. chances are I'll go and reblog it from myself too if it's something funny! ultimately no one who spends any significant amount of time on this site is going to care that you're a day/week/month/year/decade back in their archive, if they do they're in the very small minority there. i find posts from blogs that haven't posted in a decade and I reblog them because they are good. and you should too!

Is the Witness cutscene viewable to people who did not pay for access to the season (or will it be post-year)? Like people who only bought the expansion and not the season pass? I know they shove important story and lore info behind timegated paywalls constantly (reason I hate the season model), but that seems like a really especially vital scene I would hope would be viewable in-game by everyone
Right now, it's only a part of the season. Obviously it's available for free online on their official and non-official channels, but in-game it's only for those that have Season of the Deep, for now, since it's a part of this season.
As for the future, honestly no clue. I will assume yes because of one simple fact: you will no longer be able to buy the past seasons when Lightfall year ends. That would mean that only people who bought the season during this year would continue to have access to the cutscene going forward, but no new players would have the same access, which kinda defeats the purpose of having it accessible in the game later.
So I can assume that they might be working on some universally accessible cutscene viewer that will allow all players to see cutscenes from content no longer in the game, regardless of whether they've previously purchased it or not. That's the best scenario because it would mean we'd get all other cutscenes in the game too. The middle scenario is that only the Witness cutscene will be viewable somewhere as part of another mission or some quest, also without having to have purchased Season of the Deep (since you won't be able to once TFS starts: technically you'll be able to purchase Lightfall so maybe it will require you to at least have purchased that, but the season itself will no longer exist).
We'll have to wait for more info on that. As of now, I would assume that once this year is done and the season is no longer purchasable, the cutscene will be a part of content that is available to everyone. While it's still purchasable, it's only in-game for those that bought it, but can be viewed with no problem on their official channel (and elsewhere).
