Some random takeaways from today's episode

SQX is actually a pretty good fighter with his fan! I usually have him as more of a noncombatant in my headcanons (more of a support mage kind of fighter) but I love him as a fighter too! (eternally sad he could not participate in the many brawls of mt tonglu)

Either Xie Lian has a very tight grip or SQX bruises easily. Or both. I like both.

SQX is Not Good at history. He's a bit of a designated exposition character, but I also like how it's Ling Wen & Pei Ming filling in his history gaps

Btw I played Paper Mario 64 recently and just finished it last week, three takeaways from it:

1. Bowser is a delight of a character no matter the game, he’s hilarious and I love how hard he’s trying when “courting” Peach.

2. Peach was the absolute MVP of that game and amazing proof that you don’t need to know how to fight to play a vital role in a story.

3. The Kolorados need to divorce already.

8.5/10 Really good game!

So, considering the consistent hunger/eating = desire theme jshk has, I’m gonna assume Mistuba’s hunger (for hearts, specifically!!) is a metaphor for his (self-perceived and, to an extent, true) loveless existence and yearning for love and friendship.

So he eats and eats and eats but is never satisfied, and it just can’t keep him sustained, because there is no connection between him and the nameless, blurbs of kaii (and whatever other creatures he’s eaten).

That he’s also been holding back from eating Kou so far, the one he feels an inexplicable pull towards, also indicates this.

Now that he knows he means something to Kou, I wonder how his hunger will fare.

That Tsukasa not only helped keep Mitsuba alive, but tried to help him with his confusing emotions is kinda sweet, in weird way (but what isn’t in this manga?)

Kou really is such a brute, lol. But I guess it was endearing to see him being so violent and forceful out of despair (he doesn’t wanna lose Mitsuba again) only to bawl like a baby afterwards (“jus’ eaaaaat iiit buaaah”).

he’s still the least charming characterlol

Who knows what’ll happen next. Will Kou start hunting down kaii for Mitsuba to eat? Will they go to Tsukasa for help? Will Kou start on his quest to become a supernatural (after he’d just excitedly sworn to become a better, stronger exorcist who’d kill Hanako if necessary lol) ?

On a side note, we’re almost at chapter 100!! What a milestone!!

i love love love kenma's intensity during the last couple of points scored but nothing gets me more than this:

it's not really about who wins or loses (even though that means the end of high school volleyball for the third years) but about playing together and having fun 💕

although they're all hyped to compete in an official match against each other, they play exactly like they would if it wasn't in some huge arena and just at their local gym. because if it's those guys, they always go all out. to both teams, it's not about the outcome of the game but more about the actual process I think 🙈 love that for them ❤️❤️❤️

i don't know what it is about this panel but hinata not realising the game has come to an end and needing to actually look at the scoreboard, to take a minute and grasp that they have won, they get to move ahead, they'll be able to play more volleyball,,, just not against nekoma anymore,,, yeah. i'd guess he might be a little sad, too.

alright okay one of these wasn't in the actual chapter and just a ""bonus"" but i'd like to not only focus on the obvious similarities ofc (which were undoubtedly intended), most notably the almost identical composition and the way they're kind of mirroring each other, but also on one being in bold (is that the right term?) and the other just a sketch feels like it's symbolism for the ones who get to keep on playing and the ones who have to retire... lmk if this doesn't make any sense haha
