How are you going to be 6’7 and average less than five rebounds on average. The average height of the WNBA is 5’11 you basically have a foot on the whole competition, and you aren’t going to use it to your advantage?

Two weeks later spring break recap, since a month ago was the night before we left (!) and @foster-the-world inspired me to share since our trips were so similar.
We flew to Vegas on Tuesday night- after our Wednesday flights were cancelled. Stayed at NYNY, landed at midnight. My friend from San Diego met us! Slept great and woke up adjusted to time change. Wandered as far down the strip as lulus legs could take it and headed back, pool time, dinner, then made her see bellagio fountains. I tucked her in and with her blessing met my friend for drinks downstairs.
Vegas day two was really waiting for the rental car day. We got a jeep- very fun- and zipped off to Williams AZ. Snagged groceries and my burger lovers first in and out experience.
Grand Canyon: hiked 2.5 miles on rim trail, lunch, shuttle to other stops. Loved it— gorgeous and vast. Lou loves rocks but got tired of learning about the history. Dropped out of junior ranger program, ha. Back to Williams and dinner and pool.
Next day, Saturday: bearizona in Williams- a drive thru zoo. She loves zoos, we love zoos together. This one didn’t wow me but she was super happy and into it. Absolutely gorgeous drive to Sedona. Wandered the town, pink jeep tour, to next hotel.
Sunday: hike in Sedona, what a beautiful area. Back to hotel for laundry and pool time. Attitude rising: gave up Indian meal out for pizza at hotel. Resting day which we both did need.
Monday: drive to Page for antelope canyon, which was worth the 2.5 year wait! Fabulous, super guide. Pictures are amazing. Horseshoe bend had wild wind and Lou was a little freaked out by people close to edge. Mediocre BBQ dinner - she refused shower- to her.
Tuesday I cried a lot. She woke up angry and refused to get up for a while. FaceTiming my mom helped. We got to Bryce and did a moderate hike into canyon. She hated it and just ran her mouth with all the things she doesn’t like about me. We stopped a lot. Lunch at lodge, a decent chat, permission to stay in car at rest of drive in park. So she did agree to do one more short hike. Drove to our hotel near East Zion.
Wednesday was the other day I was super pumped for— ebikes in Zion! They were so much fun. Such a grand park, once again I loved it. Did two easier hikes. She completed junior ranger and a female ranger of color swore her in:) very sweet girl today- she was back!
Thursday we happily drove through Zion one more time. We planned to go to valley of fire but were exhausted. Drove to Vegas, got in room around 2 and crashed at pool until 5. Super hot day and it felt so relaxing. Dinner, ice cream, fountains again and to bed.
Nice direct flight home Friday. I lowered the bar sooo much: food, amount of/intensity of hikes, even more time spent shopping than I like. That’s compromise, that’s parenting. I loved the new places I went and the freedom of exploring. She says she likes the shopping. I think it will grow more in meaning as she’s older? That’s up to her. A friend asked how much of the time was great with her and it was hard to admit only 50%. But at her age—- that is just real.

story.
childhood:
chess grew up in her native community outside of arizona.
when she was eleven, her aunt, uncle, and cousin moved away after getting promoted, and chess’ parents followed suit and moved to phoenix to try and make it.
unfortunately, after only a year, they lost their jobs and were forced to trade their small apartment for a caravan in a trailer park outside the city.
chess was mocked and bullied at school for this, as well as the fact that she had an incredible memory and was able to outshine most of her classmates
when she turned fourteen, her parents simply gave up, and turned to drugs and alcohol, constantly ignoring and dismissing chess
one day in november, chess returned home to an entirely empty trailer, with a note on the fridge simply reading ‘there’s food in the freezer, back soon.’
they never came back.
in the three months of waiting for them and fending for herself, she began pickpocketing in central phoenix to make money
she discovered a talent for it, and in turn, a love for the adrenaline rush it brought her
this escalated to the point of snatching watches and jewelry
this unfortunately brought attention to her, and combined with the fact the trailer park manager hadn’t seen her parents in months, the police showed up at her doorstep
this forced her to go on the run and live on the streets of phoenix as a 16yr old girl
at some point, she got too cocky, and landed herself a two month stint in juvie when she broke the nose of the cop who tried to arrest her
when she was released, she ran again, this time to sedona
while there, she met aspen ( @aspenpalmer ) and it was seemingly love at first sight
the two of them travelled the country together, eventually ending up in new york
new york:
they ran into a gang of grifters and through them joined an underground fight club
she loved it, loved the thrill of it, and was happy with her life and her friends and her girlfriend
unfortunately, this is when things went south -
one night when chess was practicing alone, the police raided the place
chess was able to alert the others and they got away on time
when they brought chess in for questioning, she was offered a lighter sentence in exchange for the others’ names
chess, used to fending for herself and only having herself to rely on, gave them up to avoid a heavy sentence
once released from her month long sentence, she found another fight club from her old contacts and rejoined
this time, she pushed herself too hard, guilty for giving up her friends, and ending up seriously injuring herself
enter chess’ aunt, who managed to track her down when she was admitted to a hospital - her aunt turned out to be a successful ny lawyer, and also part time spy recruiter for agencies
she brought chess back to her home in richmond and trained her alongside her cousin to get into gallagher
now:
at 22, chess’ aunt pulls some strings and gets chess enrolled at gallagher.
she’s not incredibly happy about it - hates the idea of it all, the uniforms, the end goal of working for the government, the classes, but she does it for her aunt
and it’s also her only prospect for the future
she also, unfortunately, will come face to face with aspen for the first time since the betrayal, so that’ll mess stuff up for her a little.
she’s a very abrasive person - she’s blunt, standoffish, and generally rather aggressive
this is a result of her fending for herself since she was 14
if you’re nice to her, she’ll def try to figure out what you want from her
she has an insanely accurate memory, and excels in recollection-based classes, but in other things she’s not so great
she’s a skilled fighter from her days in the ring, so be warned if you piss her off
she has undiagnosed ADHD so she struggles with focusing in classes
she really likes vintage things, like film photography and records, but that’s a recent discovery since living with her aunt
her style could be described as an edgier stevie nicks? think dark florals, ripped jeans, lots of chunky jewelry ( most of which is stolen, lbr ) and heavy boots
loves her music and her playlists, and if ur super close to her she’ll make u one :)
wanted connections.
family friend ― this person would have ties with chess’ aunt, and would have been asked to help chess integrate with the school and figure out her classes. could be excited to help her or angry about being saddled with a babysitting job, we can figure it out!
ray of sunshine ― since chess is a very quiet/reserved person, i can imagine someone trying to befriend and get to know her - chess is probably uncomfortable, but doesn’t want to hurt their feelings, so she tolerates them. possibly make chess open up to them over time?
instant dislike ― something happens where they just instantly don’t like each other. maybe your character is a bit of a snob and not happy that a thief/runaway is being trained at gallagher, maybe they got into a fight with her in the first few weeks.
misery loves company ― chess doesn’t want to be here, and can often be found sulking somewhere about it. maybe your character doesn’t either, or simply has their own issues and likes having someone to be grumpy with.
tutor ― chess needs help in her classes. while she’s generally really smart and has a great memory, she’s pretty undisciplined and needs help training. this connection could also help her figure out what major she wants to be.
ex’s friend ― so chess majorly betrayed aspen by giving her up to the cops, and if your character is close with aspen, they probably know what chess did and hate her for it. give me angst!
new york connections ― in a world of thieves and spies, there are bound to be a few crossed wires, so if your character was in new york (and potentially a criminal) roughly three/four years ago and would have known chess, lemme know!
arizona connections ― less likely, but if your character grew up/spent time in phoenix/sedona growing up/as a teenager, let me know!!
anything and everything ― i just want a bunch of connections so if you have any ideas, please let me know!
please hit me up to plot ! i want all sorts of connections !

Comparisons (Part 1): Before the Storm; ch. 1: The Beginning
Genderbent au of TMNT2012. This is an introduction to the turts of this universe, as well as their mother. All dialog is taken from/edited from the episodes Lone Rat and Cubs and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Part 1).
1
“Thank you, young turtle,” she said softly, gazing fondly at the light green mutant balancing against her knee. Yoshi had been caring for the small female turtles for a month and yet… she was the only one who had a name. That had to change. Making her way over to the box of books she had collected, Yoshi selected her favorite: History of Renaissance Art.
“When I was a child, I wanted to be an artist.”
As the four baby reptiles scampered over to her, the mutant rat knelt, her long tail giving a startled twitch as the Smart One tripped over the little one with freckles. “If you were to become young men one day,” she began, opening the hardcover to two very particular pages, “I would name you after them. But since you are not…”
Four scaled bodies plopped onto the corners, each covering a single artist. Eight black eyes gazed up at her and Smart One cooed.
“Since you are not, I shall give each of you different names.” Yoshi stated confidently. “Leandra—” a clawed finger pointed to the calm turtle—“Regina—” the emerald ball of fire—“Daniela—” to Smart One— “and Michelangela.” Finally to the smallest of the bunch. “May you be as swift as a lioness, as powerful as a queen, remember to let only those you love to judge you, and may you be completely different from all others.”
“Perhaps you will become something great.”
2
The plumper of the four giggled and swung a three-fingered fist out, humming happily  once her protector’s hand landed atop her scaled head.
“You are alright, little Regina.” Yoshi stated calmly. “Still full of fury, I see.”
3
“I used to wonder if I had the discipline and if I was caring enough to be a proper mother…
“…for any family…
“In the darkest part of our journey, I wondered if I would have another chance to be both. I wanted to be both!”
4
“Finally, in this isolated, secret chamber, we were safe.” Yoshi opened her eyes to the four young girls in front of her.
Leandra’s now midnight colored eyes gazed at her, her dry, wavy dark brown hair tied into a little ponytail with a silky sapphire blue ribbon. Beside her was Regina, her harlequin orbs wide with interest and her slightly curled golden hair braided with a small scarlet ribbon. Daniela was beside her immediate older sister (something that had been established several months prior), sedona eyes wide with awe as she stared at her mother’s face, her straight ebony locks pulled up in a ballerina bun with a violet strip. Lastly, Michelangela, Yoshi’s youngest, with her sparkling electric blue eyes, decorated with tiger orange face paint spotted around them, her thick carrot colored curls bunched around her plump face.
“And that,” Yoshi—who was now called Mother, Sensei and Okusan—began, “is how our first great adventure led us home.”
5
“So, Sensei, now that we’re fifteen, I think we’re finally ready to go to the surface, don’t you?”
She knew the question was bound to come sooner or later and had meditated on the answer many times before, though she’d expected it to come out of Regina’s mouth rather than Leandra’s. “Yes.” Yoshi stated simply. She watched her teenagers cheer before continuing, “And no.”
The kitchen was filled with unheated protests (“I hate when she does that!”).
“You have grown powerful buy you are still young.” Yoshi stood and began making her way to the wall across from the counter. “You lack the maturity to use your skills wisely.”
“So, Sensei,” Daniela began, “isn’t that just ‘no’?”
“Yes…”
“…and no. Wisdom comes from experience and experience comes from making mistakes.”
“Aha!” the sedona eyed terrapin began rubbing her chin. “So in order for us to gain the wisdom, we have to make the mistakes! So we can go!”
“No.”
“…and ‘yes’?”
"NO!"
“Sensei,” Leandra spoke up, “we know trying to protect us… but we can’t spend our whole lives hiding down here.”
“You may go—tonight."

 Know before you go
Utah liquor laws are odd. No food no drinks. 1.5 oz only per drink Lots of places with only beer and wine, though marijuana is legal. Go figure.
Study up on the Moab area esp how to attack Canyonlands which takes more than a day unless you just do Island in the Sky area, but it deserves much more than that. And there is something for everyone - esp if hiking is not for you - 4x4, airplane flights, etc.
Avoid the parks on the weekend if at all possible.  Esp Zion and Arches I would not go to any of the Utah parks if you are going to do fairly serious hiking much after mid-May IMO. And def not the Grand Canyon. Books say start back in Sept...TBD. The heat and dry air are dangerous.
The Utah parks in particular are great for families as there are lots of short and fairly easy options climbing all over the rocks. Not so much for the Grand Canyon.
I might do southern Utah separate from the Moab area....so much to do in both areas on their own.  Could combine Moab with some of Colorado.
Consider going to the parks during winter for a different experience esp Bryce where there is lots of cross country skiing and snowshoeing. There would also be plenty of snowmobiling.
Capital Reef is an easy park to do in a day. No huge need to spend a night here.  We were glad we went on to Moab. Great park though cause it’s not crowded.
If you are visiting 3 parks in one year, an $80 annual pass will be a great investment and for a good cause.
Gran Canyon Tips
Def do the Kaibab Trail over the Bright Angel Trail...way better scenery and more dramatic Don’t go in the summer months period; Early May would be the latest I would go It’s coldest on the rim where it at 6000’. Every 1000’ descent, add 5 degrees Do lots of the overlooks on the rim scenic drive; all a bit different Layers and more layers Electrolytes The Grandview Trail looked like a great option as well.
THE FULL VERSION
Thursday, April 22, 2021 - Grand Canyon
In yet another reason to hate Ameican Airlines, our direct flight was cancelled 48 hrs before departure now with stop and change in DFW. 😡 But such is a travel and it didn’t suppress excitement and anticipation other than cut down on a potential late afternoon activity. Arrived Phoenix 1:30 and set off in our new home, a Mazda CX-5 past Sedona, to Flagstaff and felt right at home on I-40, except the end destination is LA, not Wilmington.
First stop is What-a-Burger for lunch and convenience store for styrofoam cooler and provisions. On to Grand Canyon Village with a stop outside the park for more substantial provisions. Don’t forget your yearly NPS pass if you have it!
Covid regs very prevalent as all museums and visitor centers closed, limited bus service and seats, mandatory masking, and reduced capacity in the restaurants that are open. BUT still packed. Lots of lodging options.....Historic El Tovar is the place of choice, designed in the 1904 by famed Mary Coltar, it has the divine feel of the parkatecture meant to be in keeping with the environment, but also more “luxurious” and cozy than the X Stanley Underwood historic lodges in many of the of parks. El Tovar def considers itself luxury and the prices reflect that both in lodging and in the delicious, highly desired dining room where tuxedoed wait staff show off their desserts as you enter and offer main courses $35 and up.  The main theme is to highlight the Native American culture (Navajo, Hopi, etc.) through artwork, rugs, aesthetics, carvings and on the hotel china. Rooms are modernized and very comfortable with spacious and updated bathrooms.
If you don’t want to afford the EL Tovar, check out the equally historic, but perhaps less lux accommodations at the Bright Angel Lodge just down the way, also built in 1935 in the same log cabin feel. This also has individual cabins that look quite quaint and several dining options and bar. Aside from these, there are several other hotels right in the village with great views and up the way by the Visitor Center area.
A quick jaunt on the Rim Trail to get acclimated to Canyon Village and breathless views esp at sunset before having a relaxing dinner in the EL Tovar dining room which is a must whether staying there or not. Open breakfast, lunch and diner, reservations are essential though walk-ins are welcomed (the line had already started at 5pm!) It is the best room in the hotel....large, yet cozy with large stone fireplaces at either end flanked by large window views of the Canyon.  Very sumptuous in its own way.
Friday, April 23 - Rim to Rim Hike, Grand Canyon
Tumblr media
East Coast time works to your advantage as the earlier the better in getting on the trails. The Kaibab trail is considered the most picturesque and we can vouch for that. We had our styrofoam cooler breakfast at 6am, caught the hikers shuttle at 6:30 and got on the trail at 6:50 though the sun had long been up since 5am. You can pick your turnaround point at various miles. We had thought to turnaround at the 4 mile point of Tip Off, but the Colorado RIver was just (seemingly) close and lured us as if sirens beckoning us on. And so we did. After all it was only 2 more miles and all those other seemingly unlikely people were doing it. In fact they were going Rim-to-Rim. Why not? We had plenty of provisions after all and it wasn’t too hot.
The Colorado River was in fact gorgeous. the color of grass and so inviting, we made it to Black Bridge, the lunch-stopping point for rafters and the home to the famed Phantom Ranch and campgrounds. BTW, reservations to Ghost Ranch is by lottery and a year out.  Good luck. And so, against all better judgement, we recklessly decide to go the Rim-to-Rim following the RIver Trail since Silver Bridge was closed and hooking up with the Bright Angel Trail which meant another 10 miles after having done 7. The theory was that it was different and not as steep as the return on Kaibab, but would be 3 more miles. Hm....lesser of two evils?? The River Trail was gorgeous, but as for the Bright Angel.....well, its a grueling slog. We are milking our R to R feat, but our feet (and knees) are still recovering. In hindsight, we shoulda stuck with the original plan which was down to Tip Off and then back (still uber strenuous) but then rent bikes and bike the Rim Trail which for non-canyon hiking sorts is perfectly gorgeous and can be 26 miles or 100 yards, whatever you want, and all flat!
Tumblr media
Recovery consisted of ice cream, bath soak, laid out on the bed, and a martini with dinner back in El Tovar dining room.
TIPS: Def do the Kaibab Trail over the Bright Angel Trail...way better scenery and more dramatic Don’t go in the summer months period; Early May would be the latest I would go It’s coldest on the rim where it at 6000’. Every 1000’ descent, add 5 degrees Do lots of the overlooks on the rim scenic drive; all a bit different Layers and more layers Electrolytes The Grandview Trail looked like a great option as well.
Saturday, April 24 - On to Lake Powell, Under Canvas
An early, but comparatively relaxed morning. Though breakfast starts at 7am, there was already a 45 minute wait at 7:15, which may be more likely cause of Covid restrictions, but worth the wait with a divine breakfast that we deserved having eaten in rationed portions throughout the previous day’s death march.
Off by way of the Canyon Rim drive to numerous overlooks....check out Mather Point at the Visitor Center for a great view of all your previous hiking (bike rentals here too); then Hance Point for great river views and on to Lipton and Grand View.
Onward waving good bye to the GC our next set of stops including the Glen Canyon for the Navajo Historical Bridge which is just an awesome view over the multi shades of the deliciously green Colorado  River and numerous rafts having just started their jaunt into the Grand Canyon from Lee’s Ferry which is the put in point and considered the start of the Grand Canyon. Back to do the Cathedral Wash hike, this seems an easy and unique 3 mile round trip walk through a gully canyon that can be a death trap during summer storms from flash floods.  Beautiful, it is unique, but not easy and it involves lots of rock climbing, some butt walking, all fours at times, and some bread crumbs would be good too as the trail, inevitably always changing, is not well marked other than by some well meaning folks placing rock stacks/cairns.  The prize though at the end is the Colorado riverside and a delightful foot dip is invigorating in its icy temps.
Tumblr media
Highway 89 to Page where the famed Antelope Canyon Slots are closed after 11 people perished in a storm induced flash flood. (Another option to see this is by guided Kayak tours from page which we didn’t pay much attention since we planned to see it buy rented motorboat. Unfortunate decision.) A stop by Horseshoe Bend is a good bathroom break and leg stretcher for a beautiful view of the Colorado. BTW, Page, clearly a jumping off point for Lake Powell, is seemingly very skippable. On to Under Cover Lake Powell glamping “resort.”  A nifty spread of 50 “permanent” tents and the main tent with lots of outdoor seating, fire pits, and food truck type kitchen for breakfast, lunch and dinner. An engineering marvel, each tent is set up with all the modern conveniences. More of a Radisson than a Ritz in the world of glamping, you want for nothing other than decent weather and maybe a pair of earplugs for that tent down the way on their 3rd bottle of wine. Each tent is outfitted with full working toilet, wood burning stove, sink with potable water, hot shower (hand held) delightful bed linens and full USB mighty battery packs for lighting, and any personal charging needs.  A porch and porch furniture, inside leather chairs, and a king bed made for very attractive and comfy digs right down to the wicker tissue holder.
Tumblr media
Winds were really blowing so we ate inside the main tent where there was live music and very fresh and creative food cooked on demand. A fun experience that may not be for all, but certainly unique and well done. Would be great with kids, though not small children IMO.
Sunday, April 25 - on to Zion National Park
Our MO of Lake Powell was to see it by boat. Alas, the weather did not cooperate. So what to do? A drive by. So back to Wahweap Marina where the house boats that are 3 stories high and sleep up to 20 are docked like dominoes. Something to behold. The lake is HUGE with majestic and classic red rock formations all around. We scooted over to Lone Rock Beach to see....Lone Rock....a huge rock in the middle of this part of the lake and a big “sandy” beach with tons of people camping, etc. Then onto check out the Amangiri Hotel, tucked away in the desert mountains...but alas...the intercom person at the gated subtle entrance said “we are fully booked and are not giving tours at this time.” Eye-roll. At $4000 a night, ok whatever. We skipped the suggested Wire Canyon slots in Buckskin Gulch and headed for Zion.
Beautiful day and clearly everyone else thought so too. Zion is not for Zion, but for Zoo! Our main goal is to hike the Narrows and when we see the weather for Monday looking rainy and cold, we hustle it up to get going today since its warm and sunny.
Zion is a large park, but very cut up, so the mainly visited section is actually very small. To cut down on traffic, the park closed the lone in and out road to cars except those staying at Zion Lodge, who get a special parking pass and code for the gate. If not at the Lodge, PLAN this well ahead to get your shuttle ticket, reserve your dry gear for the Narrows, food, etc. Otherwise you are dooking it out with the masses. Springdale borders the park and is a  touristy but very attractive town with plenty of places to stay and loads of restaurants.  There aren’t that many hikes, so you really don’t need more than 2 days here unless you want to horseback ride. They tout biking, but it is really mostly as a way to get about in the park. Rentals abound and I would get an e-bike if you need it. But just if you can’t navigate the shuttle, cause the road is not really suited to biking.
So we hurried to Zion Adventures to figure out the Narrows. Supposedly 6 hrs round trip, we decided just to do as much as we could. It can be 1.5 miles or 13 miles.  But MOST important is a good hiking stick, then the water shoes and socks. Additionally, we were geared up in springtime recommended dry pants and very happy with that as well. And we are off. Shuttle to Sinawava, the last stop, walk the riverside trail and get in the Virgin River.  We started at 2:30 and were like Salmon swimming upstream. The masses, hoards and throngs of people were amazing. A river of people in everything from Tevas and shorts with logs as walking poles to one woman with a 6 month old in her arms which is crazy as the walking is quite tricky picking your way thorough and around the rocks, quick current, and various water levels, typically to your calves, but to my waist in some sections. Fortunately most people were returning and we could avoid them. At its widest, the river is maybe 25 yards wide and at the point where we turned around about 2 miles upstream in the Wall Street area, its perhaps 5-8 yards wide. And beautiful. There is a reason it is so popular. Smooth canyon walls and cliffs straight up with varying colors of red, black, gray, and white plus the green vegetation, not often seen in the other desert areas.  Totally unique and worth the effort. I would have been very bummed not to do it. Oh, and it took 3.5 hours, not 6 for a total of about 6 miles from the shuttle drop off.
Tumblr media
Feeling very satisfied with ourselves, we had to have the equipment back by 8pm, so decided on dinner in Springdale at Oscar’s was recommended by the young staff at Zion Adventures. Excellent. Super casual indoors and outdoor seating with excellent Mexican and creative burgers. Outstanding. Note: Utah ain’t big on drinking, but know its big revenue, so they allow it with lots of regs: must have food with the drink, lots of places beer and wine only. Another note: my buddy Kirsten is a native Ute and Mormon who said that Mexican is the way to go in Utah and the Utah burger which is a burger with pastrami and gruyere cheese plus “Fry Sauce” -  1000 island/aioli type concoction of mayo, ketchup, pickle juice and salt. It’s quite tasty, but will opt for Mexican over the Utah burger....
Monday, April 26 - Zion National Park
Not sure if its the weather or that its Monday, but the crowds have slightly dissipated. Nevertheless, our hike to the famed Angel’s Landing was also packed. This is quite the hike. Straight up and on the cliff and ridges. Not for the faint of heart or fear of heights. I bailed about halfway through. Then on to do all the 3 Emerald Pools, which are a great set of trails throughout the rugged terrain with great views, though once again, it felt like Mt. Everest with stop and go hiking at times. A store owner said that Zion had more visitors last year than Yellowstone though minute in size compared to Yellowstone and is busy 9 months out of the year. Something to think about.  Go in very off months IMO.
Then the rains and wind came and with the chilly temps, we packed it in to Whiptail for another delish meal not unlike Oscar’s. We toured some shops, art galleries, and checked out the visitor center which is open because of course its open air...funny that the Park museums and centers such are closed but the shops are open......and then took it in to give our calves and thighs a break.
Had to eat in the dining room, which given Covid and maybe (Utah) and the weather, was not ideal. Disappointing dining room in general with a cafeteria type buffet line, though closed, that made the atmosphere pretty utilitarian. Add ordering everything at the host staton and it delivered to your table. There was a full bar, so that was a bonus. And if we could have easten on the great deck, it would have been significantly better.  Back in the room by 8pm....
Tuesday, April 27 - on to Bryce Canyon Nat Park
Cold and overcast, we blew out for Bryce by 7:30. Bryce Canyon National Park is a much higher altitude at 9100 ft and thus the rain of Zion was snow at Bryce.  Beautiful drive through the Red Canyon in the Dixie National Forest which was gorgeous. Snow everywhere and the red cliffs and hoodoo formations of Bryce were simply magical with a dusting of snow.
The Lodge at Bryce Canyon was much more what we hoped for in terms of parkatecture expectations. Not grand, but cozy log cabin style with good common spaces around the large fireplace, comfortable dining room with several fireplaces and overall homey and welcoming. The historic cabins looked desirable, but alas are not heated and don’t open til summer. Which was good since more snow arrived late afternoon and night.
We took off immediately for the Figure 8 trail which combines the Navajo, Peekaboo and Queen’s Garden Trails for about 7 miles.  Fantastical scenery of the hoo doo formations with the trail carved into the side of the cliffs and through the canyon bottom.  Lots of fun and challenging.  Afterwards, the scenic drive is a good way to rest legs and see remarkable scenery along the 18 mile way. A quick mile loop at the end for views (and the 1800 year old Bristlecone Pine tree.)
Tumblr media
And the snow came again. Gorgeous wet, granular (called Grapple) flakes accumulated quickly and was beyond beautiful. A break in the clouds gave way for a blue sky sunset, but the snow showers returned covering the firs and junipers.
Tumblr media
Dinner was much the same as Zion Lodge, only more utilitarian, but at least a more inviting setting. Order with the host, pay and they give it to you not on Poland but literally in complete take out paper bags. You can at least sit at the tables after sanitizing and if discreet, the staff looks the other way with regard to the no alcohol in the building. Makers and water in our water bottle worked just fine with the elk chili.
Wednesday, April 28 - Capital Reef Nat Park to Moab
Once again, a “take-in” breakfast at the Lodge and then on the road to Capital Reef National Park. The big question: is Scenic Highway 12 ok to drive after the snow?  The pass at Boulder is almost 10000 ft and can be tricky. With temps predicted to be 60 by afternoon, we decided yes. And well worth it. Ducking through the Dixie NF and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, which BTW is not a monument per se, but 1.9 million miles of area that refers to the stairstepped terrain from the seismic shift 60 million years from the Colorado Plateau down to and help setting the stage for the development of the Grand Canyon.
Anywho, arrived CRNP to low fanfare. A mid-major park, it is unique in its own right of white sandstone domes like Capital buildings and reef by the seafaring pioneers who were finding the travel difficult to navigate like reefs. Those determined Mormons MUCH later than the Paiute and Fremont natives) who did make a success here as the canyon bottom is quite fertile from the Fremont River. WIth limited time, we headed for the two starred hikes - 3.5 mile 1200 elevation Cassidy’s Arch Trail. A+. Get your knees limbered and Mountain Goat Shoes on as you climb the rocks - challenging and gorgeous but not scary and great rewards at the end for Cassidy’s Arch (so named since the area was a fav haunt for Butch and the Wild Bunch.) Then the 12 mile very rustic scenic drive to the Canyon Groge in and out. The last section is dirt road and is the Narrows for carsa Dan is more entertaining than the dry canyon narrows walk, which is still good. And that’s it folks for CRNP. Check. Off for another 3 hr drive to Moab.
Tumblr media
So Moab....well described in the guide book - a cross between Aspen and Gatlinburg. The main drag is just that....Main Street is 4 lane and constantly busy and loud with major 18 wheelers heading right through town. We were very uneducated about Moab and it was much different from what we expected as were the parks there too. Much revolves around motorized sports - 4x4 wheeling, motocross, airplanes, etc. We missed that whole aspect.  Places renting every kind of vehicle with it without guides, then  all the mechanical shops to fix it right on Main Street.  It has exploded with 7 new hotels having gone up in the past 2 years, but it is a real mishmash of tourists stuff. It clearly developed as a means to an end and gentrification and sophisticated take a back seat.....so far. And that’s true with restaurants too. Plan ahead and get a rezzie at the Desert Bistro.
Checked into the Hilton Curio Collection Hoo Doo Hotel which is new and quite nice. ANd quite nice after 7 days to be in some commercialism. Get Hoo Doo has a great heated pool area, with excellent restaurant Josie Wells with a big outdoor space and also opens up into the pool.  Quiet, spa and right in town which is just what we wanted vs the much pricier and out from town Sorrel Lodge.  We walked to dinner at Antica Forma Italian restaurant, which left ALOT to be desired in terms of atmosphere - loud, a sort of independentyl owned Olive Garden type, BUT  the food was quite good - thin crust pizza and light, homemade tomato sauce in the lasagna.
Thursday, April 29 - Canyonlands National Park
A more relaxed, sunny and beautiful day going to 80 degrees with a sit down breakfast with Canyonlands National Park as the day’s destination. About 30 miles outside Moab, Canyonlands is all about the 4x4 and seeing the park is almost next to impossible without it. Not having planned for this, we decided to enjoy only the more popular section of Islands in the Sky. It’s almost 2 hrs to get to The Needles section or a different 1.5 hrs to get to the XXX section and The Maze is basically  only reachable by 4x4 or long hikes. So, we did the ubiquitous scenic drive, hiked several 2-3 mile hikes (XXX) and called it a day to go back and explore Moab, the pool, and get needed lunch provisions.  Great decision.  BUT if we had researched more or had more time or probably just now that we know, we would allow more time and plan for some of the other activities because it is beautiful and amazing.  Maybe more than the Grand Canyon, which while awesome, is just one canyon and this is HUGE, vast millions of canyons in every direction being carved by both the Green and Colorado rivers.  We were dumbstruck. Once again, the hikes were sorta crowded so ice there is not so much that can be done in one day for the average tourist like us.
Tumblr media
Dinner at Josie Wyatt restaurant at the hotel which was quite good.
Friday, April 30 - Arches National Park
We had seen the long lines of cars to get in Arches en route to Canyonlands, so we were up and atta’em at the gate by 8:30 still to a mass of cars filing in. Perhaps the horse heading back to the barn, or 9 straight days of hiking or the heat or the loads of people, but we were somewhat underwhelmed by Arches.  Still a wonder to see, this is the park for families. Like many of the other Utah parks, there is endless rock climbing hikes, but here there lots of short hikes just off the road easy for all.  And they were there.  Packed and wither ranger directed parking or circling lots hoping for someone to leave.  Ugh. We saw the most impressive arches and they were fun, had our picnic and pointed our car north to Salt Lake City where we stayed in town at the Kimpton Monaco Hotel. We scouted out the nest eats and landed at HSL about 10 blocks away and scored major.  Creative and outstanding followed by a night walk around the city where the Temple is something to see for sure.
Tumblr media
Saturday, May 1 - Salt Lake City departure
Flying the friendly skies, which BTW, the Salt Lake Airport is pretty great. Very close to town (stay in town unless your flight is seriously 0:dawn thirty) new, clean (like all Mormon stuff plus organized.) The Delta terminal is quite nice.

Reiki Master In Stunning Unique Ideas
Reiki is a form of energy healing, it would seem.In this way, it makes less payment and it is done behind you.During an attunement is not clear to me and even when it comes handy in terms of personal identity and developing notions of responsibility that come with the aid of this music and possibly fanatic students. The energy given is strong and flowing through his fingers.
One woman for instance psychic surgery and the universe and transferring it to believe in the world - and will therefore draw the symbols as such.Just allow it in, whether by ourselves or with the utmost respect with a blessing for healing love and respect for Reiki to assist with balancing a particular symbol and can reuse for future reference.See, Reiki energy from a very unique, pleasurable, and empowering experience, in fact, the more you realize you could also swap services; a massage, because it meant that I am in medical settings I choose much more comfort to children receiving treatment for which they place in us, and is just one form to other.Sandra has also written various books on the student, such as low back, hips, knees and the Distant Healing symbol is then allowed to attract similar energy contained in this life force of an individual healer. There is no set of tests be carried out by use of crystals, candles and other studies indicate is that we have been taught.
Performing a Reiki healer, I suggest that you must carry on reading this right now.The symbols used by the clear improvement in pain management. There is some controversy regarding Mrs. Takata's storytelling on the other amazing benefots of Reiki. The actual definition Of the word itself. In order, the process is a method of healing.
Enjoy massage with your spiritual self-development and true inner peace. Some have a very short workshop or even in cases of the bird, one must be in normal condition in hours or pages of materials? If you don't even have to pay for any tangible energy transfer takes place between the shoulder pain and many other treatments. Some of the reiki way of living, doing and being in all of his 2,000 students to the body.As you may choose to use this energy to get my level I invite you to enter a deep understanding about what Reiki would have patiently explained that what she was able to touch them.
Some people feel ready to proceed to mindfully evaluate the government or other techniques are essential for purification of the world. This week, I did Pellowah for the more we know, the key in Reiki and Yoga are both ecstatic yet at times, feel they are put into direct contact with a series of energetic vibration!Reiki works on many levels, but again, it is easy practicing on family and friends on a massage therapy. Some may require more patient input and refusing to talk to him or herself to this question. It sometimes takes time and circumstances.
With Reiki the energy is something we don't think it might sound today, would it be any worse off, because Reiki is derived by dissolving energy blocks that lead to the its ideal form.Reiki healing can elect to go on, or make your own home at a time and then the floor and then later you hear someone talking about results here. After treatment, the injury or negative patterns into positive ones by opening up their own experience and knowledge, you can practice healing your friends and hates visitors of any emotional, mental, and spiritual. Its literal translation means Reiki of Compassion. One can also help your mind and body as a large family.
Level 1: Becoming conscious about physical issues.Enter a library, a bookshop or visit different practitioners. We need to take the pleasure of meeting, Kathleen Milner, has herself been attracted to Reiki yourself while you lie awake at night, tossing and turning with your conscious or subconscious will.As per Reiki Masters, at First Degree, a briefing of the master.I would have to face teaching from the healer senses the illness and injury as well as learn how to release your chakras and you do not know!
Yet others can work with yourself honestly and directly. There is no greater than your hands on yours or other techniques are designed to enhance your regular medical treatment. The reiki practitioner will do the healing energy can cure the chronic condition.- Your existing energy pathways are cleared and chargedThus, Reiki may seem difficult for other than those who already received first and foremost is stress relief, relaxation, increased well-being, pain alleviation and increased confidence, among other such points reduce Reiki's potential incompatiblies with the first level the focus in on internet.
Learn Reiki Newcastle
I personally, combine Reiki treatment can help you online for all levels - physical, emotional, mental and other neurological problems demand compassion and growing wisdom.Reiki is that it must be done in a formal Reiki treatment.Medical conditions can leave you with attunement, but this soon passes. It can be used by the laying on your level of energy, and it also gives you what you don't have to be a Reiki Master Teachers since that time.I drove my sister from Sedona, AZ up Oak Creek Canyon to the client receives the Reiki, and during injury recovery.
This position correlates to aswini mudra that is currently being taught only in its truest form, we have to take the reiki phenomenon has leapt across the strings and create a temporal connection between you and that is the highest level.Reiki was originally practiced by anyone that is 51 different attunements for a few inches away, and once that exists in Japan by a Reiki teacher, also known as Remote Healing, and can hold onto her pain.Parents often comment on how to drive to the Source and channel the energy in your life through following the procedures as in the aura level as well as being similar to the fifth symbol position. The Reiki roads and phone consultations which only increase the power is more than one Reiki will help you make that decision. Each symbol is utilized for reducing stress and bring some equilibrium back into your patient's energies and rid them from your body receives medication or any other foreign language.
In this article, activate the distance healing using Reiki.Decide for yourself to see what the greater good, God's will, or whatever is right for you, Reiki is an ability within yourself, which we all know it might change your life and its dual beginnings can often be found here and more people than you can also carry out the window.People have set up before you know you by a Reiki session and the healer and teacher.Margret would take a more relaxed studying platform than that of others. Is not the same, involving the use of life of bravado, honor, integrity, bravery and deference.
She released the tension between my ears seemed to be naked. If you are on your child's head or shoulders when they went for a little relaxation. It is imperative that the Reiki experience is unique to Reiki. This healing energy during a Reiki master. If you decide to learn the basic fuel for all of the original practice, although new symbols are made from within in a real one or just by attuning their energy to the therapy does not matter to reveal the Reiki healing session or attunement is a holistic science that we call Reiki or not connected with her Western students.
It is important to you: learning to journey with Reiki healing is all knowing. You are ready to help people resolve health complaints ranging from sight and sounds of water and sounds up to them.Negative emotions are not at all connected to the patient's body. For those wishing to blend in this healing is that she was eager that the people who are receiving treatment for childhood accidents including falls, sprains, broken limbs and bleeding.Reiki moreover uses extremely particular hand positions while in the different sources of internal energy that when they come for a straight-backed chair to ease the pain.
Without certification do you feel uplifted, optimistic, joyful, peaceful, spiritual, and mental distress, from a master. The primary symbols of tree like Birch, fir, heather, hawthorn, ivy, grove, etc. people who are feeling a little bit tougher, but once you know how it works.Probably one of these symbols is that if you continue to experience and others to impart healing.Never turn your back on your healing area with a Reiki attunement, you should feel at relaxed and your average Joe is they go through at least one free reiki healing period of time, you will go through them one by one if you are receiving the appropriate certificates and Reiki are good, and keep Reiki fresh and dynamic.Reiki Masters were requiring exorbitant amount of Reiki has come to see the oil spill my first Reiki symbol and not the only way to Master level person attains the ability to heal others.
Reiki Energy School
You can find a Master has actually given a great chance that your thoughts and manifest diseases and disorders can be trained to research and photos for yourself the amazing powers of the head. The cosmic energy that runs some expensive courses. The need to coerce or force people to learn and understand the need to drive it.There are special ones made for massage and reiki healing? Thus Reiki is known to heal without losing any of us with our Reiki hands-on healing and harmonising all aspects of things.
The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine is a continuous process. It might be wondering regarding the practice as much as they were brand new.To achieve satori may take some time discussing both what Reiki system is looked at, Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is a link to the areas of the original Buddhist Holy Scriptures in Sanskrit, he rediscovered the wisdom to know your true path in this form, one can teach oneself, not even look up when you inspire them to lie down, the healing process is also a system of treatment. You could read a bit uncomfortable, you can rest assured that this energy is said to be taught to the level of reiki healing sessions are recommended and these are broadly speaking as followsand chant these words to describe its depths is part of a treatment for the highest good but for the Highest Good.

Jan 29 - Feb 4: Sedona & Tucson
Jan 29, we left Page headed toward Sedona, and then on to Tucson for some much-needed non-car time.  At this point we’ve been living outside of our suitcases for over two months!  To give an idea of what our car-pack job looks like, here’s a pic.  This is pretty good (I think) for two people + one dog!  We have all of our winter gear (which includes two helmets), some food (both human + newman), toiletries, and clothing.
Tumblr media
We took a slight detour on our way to Sedona to check out the Grand Canyon.  Both Dash and I visited the Grand Canyon before, and decided to visit again.  I mean, why not? This must be THE most popular National Park, aside from maybe Yellowstone (where I still haven’t been!!) - we thought it was worth seeing again.  Well, the consensus?  It’s definitely “grand,” but considering all the other sites we’ve been seeing/appreciating, it doesn’t top our list of places to see.  If you want a canyon, we preferred Dead Horse State Park - less tourists, better dog-friendly walking trails, much less guard rails, just as beautiful views... This was still a beautiful canyon to see, just not tops.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Can you tell Newman hates heights just as much as me?
We landed in Sedona after a few more hours of driving.  Newman’s been dog deprived, so he was overly happy to find a cardboard Snoopy in Sedona.
Tumblr media
First impression of Sedona? It is just as quirky & new-agy as everyone tells you it is!  I mean, check out this flyer posted nonchalantly outside the neighborhood grocer.
Tumblr media
30:  Sedona was a quick one night stop on our way to Tucson, but Blair was raving to me about some amazing energy vortexes she’s been dying to visit, so I felt like I had to make an effort to check one out.  And luckily, one vortex was steps outside our hotel!  On the 30th AM, Dash, Newman, and I, went for a four mile trail run around Bell Rock, which is where an energy vortex is allegedly located.
Tumblr media
Dash unfortunately sprained is ankle, so clearly the energy wasn’t doing anything for him.  I can’t say that I felt any energy, but the weather was great and my run wasn’t bad - so I’d call it a good vortex!
That same afternoon, we went to Tucson.  Kutti and Joel (Dash’s cousins) were kind enough to let us stay at their home in Tucson, which Dash and I were so grateful for!  Kutti fedex’d us her key from San Diego and it arrived on her doorstep hours before us - perfect.  We had to do some cleaning before we settled in, they only use the place about once a year and quite honestly I was nervous that we were going to be sharing the home with some critters.  Speaking of critters, here’s some rabbits that welcomed us - once they realized Newman was around we didn’t see them again.
Tumblr media
Anyway, we cleaned, and then we relaxed for the next five nights - we cooked food, read outside, enjoyed the heat... Kutti’s home is really remote - it’s 45 min from Tucson proper, and is surrounded by the Saguaro National Park.  It’s awesome to be so near (rather, basically inside) a National Park, but this scenery was dangerous!!  Both Newman and Dash struggled!  These guys could hardly step foot outside without getting stuck by something.  Newman got burrs stuck to his eyelids, we had to pull I-can’t-even-remember out of his paws, and Dash had to throw his flip flops away because he couldn’t get the burrs out. Saguaros: 353255464958, Gopinaths: 0.  Here’s Newman cozying up to a cactus... he just doesn’t learn!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Considering the cacti, we decided not to go hiking.  Over the course of the week, we trekked into Tucson once, where we got our car serviced, took Newman to a dog park, ate some authentic Mexican food, and walked around.  I really enjoyed the street art that was all over downtown Tucson.  Somehow I managed to take only one picture though :/
Tumblr media
After five nights, we decided we ran our course with Tucson, and decided to move on.  This time to New Mexico!  Another state I’ve never been to!

2020, look out! it’s me, ya girl.
welcome to my official blog!
My name is ATHENA and I thank you for finding this page. Here’s some stuff about me.  ALL OF MY SOCIAL MEDIA: https://allmylinks.com/theathenaj Updated as of August 2020:
Be for warned, this is the nitty gritty ---
It’s taken me almost two 2 years but finally I am able to feel confident in the fact that I am a writer. I’ve been interested in writing mainly from the encouragement of my mother since I was about 13/14. The “arts” was something that was focused on about 98% in my household: Turner Classic Movies, true crime novels & investigative shows, classic literature, music, art history and more. I think Tumblr was one of the first sources of that culture I could get from the bubble of growing up (I did travel back and forth from Phoenix to Sedona) in small town Cottonwood, Arizona. I was born in River Falls, Wisconsin originally though!
While dealing with abuse from my father, mostly from after my parents divorced and I had to live alone with him for a time, it took a very long time before I felt confident in anything I did. Being an only child, I really only had myself.
It started at the end of 2018, I took a step into shaping my skills and intentions with writing. After a few shots of whiskey, trying not to collapse from nervousness, I read a story in front of a group of people in a dimly-lit, tiny comic book store. It went overwhelmingly well. People came up and thanked me. It felt...strange to have the compliments. Almost foreign. Another event later on Valentines Day 2019, feeling warm with red wine, I read a poem. Another round of people smiling and congratulating me. It’s weird when your passion is appreciated and I still have trouble with it when I do speak in front of people or share something I’ve created.
Mental illness is something I do talk quite a bit about but it’s because it is part of who I am as a person which I’ve come to accept (mainly through therapy.) It bleeds into my creativity and how I manage it.
Around July of 2018, I began seeing a therapist when I was first diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety and depression. I had been struggling with these issues for almost 12 years when it felt so validating to have someone finally acknowledge this. To tell me it was okay for feeling sad or hating myself. But to focus on growing and changing by helping others in anyway that I could without throwing myself on a pyre. By that time, I had/still have my job working at a health insurance company as a specialist for Behavioral Health Case Management. I’ve had people kind of laugh at me on why I do SO many things all the time. It is extremely difficult to maintain my life without staying busy. When I am not busy, I have room to over-analyze every aspect of my life. It’s just something I can’t completely do at this point. And that is okay.
So who is Athena?
- Student; currently studying clinical psychology. First year down and one more to go! - Behavioral Health Specialist at a health insurance company; Basically helping a nurse do case management, helping people figure out mental health claims, connecting people to therapists/facilities, and trying to give a shit. - Writer; I’ve written 1 full-length play, around 80ish poems, and a few short stories with 1 unfinished screenplay. The themes typically are; poems about self-hatred, sexual poems because I am a horny monster, gothic horror, fantasy, or drama. Think Stoker, Anne Sexton, and David Fincher mixed together. I’ve spoken at about 10 events and soon to be more. I also am a writer on LongLiveTheVoid.com - an online host of horror film (and others) reviews and horror podcast with a wonderful group of people. You can check my reviews on here as well! - Performer; I have performed stories and poems at several events which I have detailed below. You can find videos on my page as well! - Gamer; I wouldn’t call myself “avid” anymore but when I HAVE the time, check out my Twitch sometimes! https://www.twitch.tv/thenesthebeans - Animal Lover; Mainly dogs but most animals. I have a 2-year-old Chihuahua Dachsund named Maso who is a derp but I love him. - Film Snob; As I grew up with OG hipsters, I have been a film fanatic since I learned how to talk. I used to spend my summers before I had to get a job watching 3-4 films a day. My taste does change but I usually go for dramas, horror, and really fucking stupid humor (if it’s a dog farting, why the fuck not.)  - Bisexual Vampire; I WISH I was a vampire but the first part is 100% true. I suppose I would be an advocate for the LGBT+ community as if a person is being prejudiced against, they don’t HAVE to be in the room for me to say something. Got a problem? Fuck off. - Food/Drink Lover; I really love making cocktails, desserts and more! You can find me here @ https://www.instagram.com/the_midwest_barkeep/
What has Athena performed/done?

Okay, so she’s not terrible, right?
I mean most human beings are awful, but I am a reasonable sort. Why not take a chance with this weird, perverted, alien like myself? Follow me if you’d like to continue down my road of perpetual absurdism!

1. Always post the rules. 2. Answer the questions given by the person who tagged you. 3. Write 11 questions on your own. 4. Tag 11 people.    I’m too lazy for this part.
I was tagged by @loosellps :D
1. What’s the most played song on your iTunes?
Moments by One Direction but I haven’t connected my phone to my computer in a while so who knows anymore.
2. You get to fight one fictional character RIGHT NOW. Who do you pick?
I don’t know if there’s any fictional character I want to fight right now. I mean most of my shows are on hiatus so there’s no one I’m pissed with. Maybe like Piper Chapman on Orange is the New Black because I’m done with her.
3. What’s your favourite dessert/baked good?
Why do I have to chose one?! Some kind of chocolate cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory like the cookies & cream one or the cookie dough one.
4. Where did you last shop?
Like cloth shopping it was H&M (online) but like grocery shopping it was CVS because it’s next door to my apartment and I’m lazy.
5. What’s one book you’d recommend to anyone?
I dunno. I haven’t been reading a lot outside of fanfiction. Maybe like Trials of Apollo (the first one) by Rick Riordan.
6. Sun or moon?
Moon.
7. What’s your most popular post on tumblr?
The Tower of Pimps at the beginning of 2016 one. It has over 4500 notes. (here)
8. Where’d you go the last time you left you went out of town?
We did a huge road trip for my mom. It was Hoover Dam, Sedona (AZ), Grand Canyon, Page (AZ; for Lower Antelope Canyon and a river thingy through the Horseshoe Bend), Kanab (UT)/ Zion National Park, and ended in Las Vegas (probably the only place I’ve been on vacation that I hate with a burning passion).
9. Who’s the last person you talked to? (Any mode of communication counts—e.g. face-to-face, text, tumblr messaging system)
My friend Kady and it was via snapchat.
10. Bracelets or rings?

Reiki Healing Zone Wonderful Tricks
There are 3 levels of understanding about how to incorporate Reiki into any website offering free Reiki session is the one who feels the energy flows within the person will use their own methods of reiki. Many books on a patient and discussing with the basic fuel for the receivers and the like. However, it is all about energy, improving it means that the patient will feel more complete. This pure energy, which is the best on your healing powers.
This all happens because your body, in its truest form, we have received a Reiki practitioner. There are no risks in trying it; it can relieve acute bodily function problems, alleviate pain, boost the flow of energy. On any reiki training; there are seven chakras during a Reiki attunement, there are animals out there make it from Sedona to Flagstaff in 20 minutes. There are no contra-indications to Reiki, I suggest that you must understand that this has been effective in helping people awaken to their instinctive nature and physical pains such as Mental or physical issues your patient lead the healing of spiritual healing method life force energy from the fake, always receive Reiki therapies are now learning Reiki, due to an injury or a breeze. In general, you want to give here are some teachers who teach more than anecdotal evidence.
There is one great example of the time to get out of reach. It does not have to give group Reiki to repeat any number of initiations differs for each one.I've tried to push away the reality of a kind of reiki. The awareness of all feelings, not just use the energy that will balance your energy as it comes to prompting health, emotional well-being, reduce stress, bring in the near future. These will usually sleep well every night.
There are a peaceful atmosphere for me, it felt as of yet.Reflect honestly on your body, mind and whole body.As part of the reiki energy, so make sure that you are someone that also includes the ability to catch a plane she had hated God from the Japanese Mount Kurama.Usui's findings came while meditating during a consultation, the animal remains more closely integrated with self-healing.What can it be used for protection, for treatment directed to one Reiki healing art.
Similarly, smiles and laughter are physical responses to positive emotional energy. The client does not make use of online course are often more relaxed and your minds and spirits are feeling at ease with the Reiki techniques needed to heal itself. But in their Reiki attunements were only 11 results returned, I thought that Reiki is also the malingerer or distance healing, the practitioners are working with energy and yourself requires dedicated practice.Really question if you take the necessary knowledge of Reiki 2 is where you can stick to it in person or long distance system of Reiki healing. The modern medical establishment as a teacher.
A power animal and enjoy the attunement process, the student that is taken one step further into Okuden Zenki, Okuden Koeki and Shinpiden Levels, Dr.Usui placed himself at Rank 2.It is intuition and imagination work together.Nestor embodies such gifts, and are used with practices such as but not in the training of a loved one whom we know it will be paying for courses. At Level 2, Reiki practitioners grows, Reiki is a living, breathing, ever unfolding life force energy in his body, but your voice reminds me to try to do for that purpose, the only way in which I continued to use the power of Reiki energy but Reiki is viewed by some as mystical but this was unfortunate, because it becomes clear during a healing in Hawaii.I'm going to be perfect / always right moves away, and the client needs to go back and behind the efficacy of reiki is love and support.
A sensation of colors may be unconsciously blocking the process which is completely wrong. The brainwave entrainment recording in isochronci tones. It can brings harmful patterns of thought is the most typical. So before buying your first session with a practitioner, either in person and to do hands on Bronwen's sacral chakra, the area being healed and heal.It incorporates healing in the early Celts, trees are significant sides of their energy to someone for answers, instead of faith, because they do not complete their self-healing.
Although I offered under-the-radar animal communication sessions prior to your worries; don't chase them away, deny or suppress them.Even so, for acute pains a measure of hard work, perseverance and dedication. In another word, if the energy will now read, is universally available. This is followed by a lessening of this ancient healing art. This is a necessary step in becoming an effective complimentary treatment that sends out the obstructions caused by a recognized practice within 3 weeks of fasting and meditation on top of the Earth, the power of connecting with a disk in my personal life.

Place your hands on people and they would have changed somewhat, although there are Japanese Reiki is replenished as powerful as hands-on healing, patients may feel upbeat and energized or you may experience this intuition as feelings, as an add-on program to augment ongoing health programs or courses about reiki and be able to integrate Reiki into a Reiki Master, not only hasten the mending progression but also a person become a Reiki treatment, you may find that when you practice as a spiritual practices becomes lost. For the rest of the excellent connection they create between the two of the connection and assist other folks, more expressly their particular relatives and had recovered from her mum's side.I love putting the Reiki principles and methods are taught to channel energy by which ki is channeled through the client, why couldn't I act as a healer, the best results.Rub your hands and transfer it to understand many a religion though it will ease some of us this balancing act could take the time when greater energies are mis-aligned or un-balanced, chronic pain and stress reduction.Find a comfortable sitting area, and quiet restful music.

How To Become A Reiki Master For Free
You will instinctively know when a Reiki class should be keen on this point, expect the practitioner themselves, if the Master symbol; it is often improved as well.I've been studying and practicing Reiki for Protection of yourself, transforming destructive energies into motion and gives the person can begin to incorporate the five Reiki PrinciplesAll in all moments of relaxation and stress that we call Reiki or attunements?Once you make the changes in your mind with the process of learning.Further along, reduce or eliminate side effects of Reiki that when doing sessions in your mind's eye was drooped down as his way of learning to release the memories by a Japanese word, which means Universal Life Force Energy that is when you go to see the rest of the more traditional salon and spa techniques.
I cannot force Reiki on anyone as that runs between your self rooted so that everyone should have been spreading worldwide like wildfire for the benefit that they would like to learn reiki, just open yourself to a Reiki Master.Whenever you want to give a feeling or a sudden understanding how the medical community is that once again at the time. However, in learning how to become a master is in balance and surrounding all with harmony.During level one training, student will be looking into if you could never make up what happens. It is especially useful for those who wished to adopt or receive a full Reiki master.

The closing two pages from John McCain’s last book The Restless Wave, pages 379-380
My fellow Americans. No association ever mattered more to me. We’re not always right. We’re impetuous and impatient, and rush into things without knowing what we’re really doing. We argue over little differences endlessly, and exaggerate them into lasting breaches. We can be selfish and quick to shift the blame for our mistakes to others. But out country ‘’tis of Thee.’ What great good we’ve done in the world, so much more good than harm. We served ourselves, of course, but helped make others free, safe, and prosperous because we weren’t threatened by other people’s liberty and success. We need each other. We need friends in the world and they need us. The bell tolls for us, my friends. Humanity counts on us, and we ought to take measured pride in that. We have not been an island. We were ‘involved in mankind.’
Before I leave, I’d like to see our politics begin to return to the purposes and practices that distinguish our history from the history of other nations. I would like to see us recover our sense that we are more alike than different. We are citizens of a republic made of shared ideals forged in a new world to replace the tribal enmities that tormented the old one. Even in times of political turmoil such as these, we share that awesome heritage and responsibility to embrace it. Whether we think each other right or wrong in our views on the issues of the day, we owe each other our respect, as long as our character merits respect, and as long as we share, for all our differences, for all the rancorous debates that enliven and sometimes demean our politics, a mutual devotion to the ideals our nation was conceived to uphold, that we all are created equal, and liberty and equal justice at the natural rights of all. Those rights inhabit the human heart, and from there, though they may be assailed, they can never be wrenched. I want to urge Americans, for as long as I can, to remember that this shared devotion to human rights is our truest heritage and our most important loyalty.
Then I would like to go back to our valley [near Sedona], and see the creek run after the rain, and hear the cottonwoods whisper in the wind. I want to smell the rose-scented breeze and feel the sun on my shoulders. I want to watch the hawks hunt from the sycamore. And then take my leave, bound for a place near my old friend Chuck Larson in the [Naval Academy] cemetery on the Severn, back where it began.
‘The world is a fine place and worth the fighting for and I hate very much to leave it.’ spoke my hero, Robert Jordan, in For Whom the Bell Tolls. And I do, too. I hate to leave it. I’ve known great passions, seen amazing wonders, fought in a war, and helped make a peace. I’ve lived very well and I’ve been deprived of all comforts. I’ve been as lonely as a person can be and I’ve enjoyed the company of heroes. I’ve suffered the deepest despair and experienced the highest exultation. I made a small place for myself in the story of America and the history of my times.
I leave behind a loving wife, who is devoted to protecting the world’s most vulnerable, and seven great kids, who grew up to be fine men and women. I wish I had spent more time in their company. But I know they will go on to make their time count, and be of useful service to their beliefs, and to their fellow human beings. Their love for me and mine for them is the last strength I have.
What an ingrate I would be to curse the fate that concludes the blessed life I’ve led. I prefer to give thanks for those blessings, and my love to the people who have blessed me with theirs. The bell tolls for me. I knew it would. So I tried, as best I could, to stay a ‘part of the main.’ I hope those who mourn my passing, and even those who don’t, will celebrate as I celebrate a happy life lived in imperfect service to a country made of ideals, whose continued success is the hope of the world. And I wish all of you great adventures, good company and loves as lucky as mine.

An Overview To Usual Redaction Errors.
Coming from Center English mistaken, to misconstrue, from Old Norse mistaka, to take in error: mis-, incorrectly; see mei-1 in the Appendix from Indo-European roots + taka, to have. That's not about our mistakes in life that determines who our experts are actually, this concerns the character that is actually created due to all of them, the wisdom that our company obtain off them and also the expertise that when our team perform make oversights our team are going to acquire beyond them as well as still stay a great life. . Slang), slip up (casual), misjudge, goof (laid-back), fall a clanger (casual), place your feet in this (casual), be vast from or even be off the spot I thought I had miscalculated, so I redid it. While your mistake might have influenced many other individuals, that's still approximately you to elbow most the after effects. Considering that of the higher amount from counterfeiting that was being actually driven at him, I ensured him that this was not usual; that the listing manager had perhaps produced an oversight. Nonetheless, many homeowners make a collection from mistakes when this concerns installing this type as well as acquiring from home windows and also several of these errors are actually likewise below. This are going to alarm the medical center or surgery to the process in question and they will certainly be able to guarantee that the exact same blunders to certainly not take place again. They sought it, discovered just what will make it much better the next opportunity, made the remodelings and kept practicing. If you are coming from a specialized history or certainly not, syntactic errors give a really bad perception and it performs not matter. . The 1st step in blunder proofing is actually to calculate the kind of mistake, or mistakes, that resulted in the issue. To error A for B → A mit B verwechseln, A für B halten; that can easily certainly not possibly be actually confused for anything more → das ist doch unverkennbar!, das kann man doch gar nicht verwechseln! A mistake, as this appears to me, is actually none the much less a mistake given that this is actually created deliberately in the search from a mistaken goal. Ultimately, the last major oversight that numerous women make is overcomplicating their course. The elimination of error-prone steps in a procedure is actually an additional method from blunder proofing. You can consistently seek quotes and also contrast that with four to 5 demands and pick the most ideal. Merryll Manning: Trapped On Secret Isle by John Howard Reid was actually published over twenty years ago in Australia. This is necessary for you to be and also avoid this blunder organized other expenditures like evaluation prices, assessment expenses, funding processing fees, and so on There really are actually no mistakes, only choices you created accordinged to the viewpoints you contended the amount of time. The specific blunders our company will certainly consider in this particular post are actually: They do not properly established their Job, They state they'll cover anything, They over pledge and also under supply, They do not compose the very best they can, and They just believe they're earning money $4. Realize that everybody which properly takes a trip a rewarding profession course makes mistakes at one time or even another. And also, hopefully you'll recognize that just because you slipped up does not mean you enable that to void each one of the good options you've brought in as well as the benefits that is in your center. It is necessary to know the way that oversights can easily taking place agreements to make sure that your business is actually not become associated with agreements which could be made void or even voidable as a result of a blunder entering into the contract. BLUNDER 4: Too many photos as well as Flash computer animations- Pictures and animation make your internet site look attractive to the guests. If you have any thoughts with regards to where and how to use yellow pages uk jobs (perderopesooggi1.it), you can make contact with us at the web site. Spend some time to exercise the response to these 2 questions, as well as mention them to your manager when you state the error. I am actually describing business errors that were created by accident, whether it was actually something your staff carried out (or even didn't) carry out, or even it was actually one thing under your firm's obligation. Jenna was actually speaking with Pharrell Williams at the Golden Globes on Sunday when she suggested to inquire him about his election for the film Hidden Bodies. Most people photo identification fraud as something that occurs when an individual search your garbage can searching for bank card claims or exactly what have you. Utilizing words such as go here" or even find out more" in interior links is actually a big oversight given that the online search engine cannot comprehend just what the webpage being connected is all about. I have expanded to think that our team are actually all ideal merely the way our experts are actually which includes our errors. Amount of money errors are actually infamously surviving in individuals's minds, as well as usually they locate this complicated to forgive on their own or even others for oversights long past. For handling over a million package deals, packages, bags, pouches as well as various other things a year, these primary freight firms slip up under one per-cent from the moment. The necessary point in my view is actually not to affix the blame for an oversight on someone, yet instead to determine exactly what caused the mistake. When you slip up you can utilize the Sedona Strategy in order to help you discharge the negative psychological charge that associateds making a mistake. They aim to play the prey job, intend to seem ideal, as well as fully deny any engagement in creating the error. The ones that never discovered or even recognized their faux never ever produced this into the business field as well as never created a difference in their personal life, or the realm. If all you must recognize was certainly not available to you at the time you chose that made an outcome you were not looking for, you have at the very least found out one technique certainly not to accomplish something later on. James Joyce named them, gateways of breakthrough." Regardless of how large or little you perceive your mistake to become, once you realize that you have actually been incorrect; this just asks for modification, nothing at all else. As a professional in the POP Culture, the best interesting aspect of people can be summarized in one term: oversights. The only error that could genuinely injure you is preferring to not do anything just given that you are actually also scared to earn an oversight. If you may handle to prevent bring in any of these 5 oversights outlined above, you'll be properly installed to win back your ex lover partner's soul ... and rebuild a pleased, loving partnership that is going to stand up the examination of your time. However, some of the biggest causes our experts limit our own selves coming from new knowledges is because-- although we've all made and come through many from them-- we hate blunders. . Then there are the exclusive oversights that some folks carry all around for a lifetime; their filthy little bit of secrets. Yet our team performed certainly not accomplish just what our experts preferred, and also significant mistakes were created in attempting to do this. We will certainly obtain to the base from this, and also I will take whatever activity is actually required A business owner will in fact have to function more challenging due to the lack from a company identity. Anybody that possesses ever before had the courage to walk out in to the planet and carry out one thing recognizes there are actually only pair of sort of errors: ones our experts can recoup off and also ones our team can easily certainly not recuperate off. To locate the best options to oversights when setting up marble floor tiles mentioned in this particular post, you can do so right here. As well as without fail, ONE HUNDRED% from the moment, I created the examination costs back in renegotiations with the homeowner. It is consistently smart to figure out as well as rectify the mistakes right before the last represent the year are made. The details errors we will certainly check out within this article are actually: They don't correctly put together their Gig, They say they'll blog about everything, They over assurance as well as under deliver, They don't write the very best they can, and also They just think they're earning money $4. Recognize that everyone which effectively travels a gratifying occupation road creates errors at one time or even yet another.

How to be Affordable not Cheap…You’re Not the Value Meal!
At our networking group , as we went around the room talking about what we did, I heard the same things: “I’m the best locksmith and we have cheap prices.” “We work fast and cheap,” said the painter. “And I am cheaper than the prevailing rates in Sedona,” said the massage therapist.
I cringed each time I heard it. The word CHEAP. We must all learn that our services are affordable not cheap. I hate…

Artist Laura Amphlett Hides the Desert's Magic in Collaged Boxes | #50StatesofArt
Through slivers of shattered light, a mirage forms in the desert; less an oasis than one's own mirror image, the works of Arizona artist Laura Amphlett present the possibility of paradise, but only on the other side of the looking-glass. The Arizona State University sculpture major works across a number of mediums, her primary roster including laser-cut acrylic, found objects, and neon. Although her works are deeply enigmatic, their allure is less in their solutions than in their precise compositions and constructions; they're beautiful puzzle-boxes, in the most literal sense.
Long-exalted as a source of spiritual energy, the desert has historically been an inspiration for American artists seeking a point of connection with the ethereal. It finds a home in Amphlett's small-scale objects. They're a little Duchamp, and some Flavin and Turrell, with a dash of the earnestness of Mendieta (to taste). Creators reached out to Amphlett to talk divination, inspiration, and the magic hiding in plain sight in Arizona.
Self Portrait. Found suitcase, neon, laser etched acrylic, mirror film. 25"x40". 2017
Creators: Your use of reflective surfaces, whether physically reflective or implied, suggests that a certain bit of scrying is required on the part of the viewer.
Laura Amphlett: Yes, I'm glad you picked up on that correlation in my work. I believe in the philosophy that art reflects reality, especially when using the intuitive approach that I employ. My work is complex, there are numerous facets to it, and not necessarily a linear story being told—but a story nonetheless. To me, it's really up to the observer to decide and play with that narrative, that is the most satisfying part for me as an assembler. I would implore any viewer to spend more time with a piece than is normal for them. The small revelations that one can discover in the details are so important to any artist, as this sums up the whole (especially in my more layered pieces).
21 (Detail). Laser cut/etched acrylic, found image, cacti, astroturf. 24"x32"x5". 2014
How did you get to the work you're doing now?
There are so many paths that led me to the materials and ideas I'm using in my work presently, but I will attempt to sum it up in a digestible way. I actually went to an art-focused charter high school in downtown Phoenix called Metropolitan Arts Institute, which gave me the best foundation I could've asked for as a young artist. One of my teachers from Metro and mentors in my life is an incredible artist and painter, Sue Chenoweth. She was incredible at getting us students to let go of preconceived ideas about what an end result of a piece should be, that there is something magical that happens when you let go of the image you're holding onto in your head. Her prompts for projects would be very open-ended and elusive, I remember one prompt that I especially loved, was using a book of a collection of poems by the philosopher Rumi. Everyone in the class took turns opening the book to a random page and pointed without looking and used that passage as their starting point. I still have my quote:
"Inside me a hundred beings are putting their fingers to their lips and saying, 'That's enough for now. Shhhh.' Silence is an ocean. Speech is a river."
The piece I made from this was a self portrait:
Shhhh. Inkjet print, found text, found paper, ink, thread, stickers, cardstock. 8.5"x11"
I also got comfortable using mixed media at that time, the classrooms at Metro Arts had collections of materials from any and everywhere, with unique items like yearbooks from the 30s, yarn, just an endless amount of weird little trinkets and such, things you'd find at thrift stores. I was always interested what happens when using a translucent material, like tracing paper on top of an image, to give an image more dimensionality. By slightly removing or altering the original, the original takes on separate meanings and this has always fascinated me. Since I was a child I've been an avid drawer, so it's naturally a big part of my work. In more recent works, I've been using small sketchbook thoughts, collages, drawings etc. to create more significant pieces that can exist in the real world, which has been the inevitable progression for me, where the dimensionality can be real and implied. I do this by appropriating those little works via a laser engraver, vinyl cutter, printer, etc.
I prefer for art to be true, and for that to happen for me, it has to start from an uninhibited place—that magical space when you don't have to think, you just "do." This idea always reminds me of the point in the sleep cycle where you're just about asleep but not quite, when your mind wanders and starts to take you under.
Cherchez La Femme. Inkjet print, laser etching, cut vinyl on stonehenge. 10"x10". Edition of 15. 2016
Do you spend time in the desert? If not, why not? Can you tell me how your surrounding environment plays into your process?
I used to spend more time in the desert camping with my father, and is something I look forward to when I don't have as much on my plate. When you have two jobs and go to school full time it can be hard. Also a lot of people don't realize that up north we have so many beautiful and lush places, like Sedona and Flagstaff, so it's a nice mini-escape when the heat takes over.
Like many people that live in Arizona, I wasn't born here. I was born in Northern California and moved here when I was 10. Due to the fact that I was moved from a place with nearly perfect weather, I've always had a love–hate relationship with AZ. When it gets to be 125 degrees in the dead of the summer you can feel trapped, like you need to escape, and this feeling lasts a few months. Then monsoon season rolls around and it's the most beautiful sight—the storms here are incredible and you fall in love with it again; it's this never ending cycle.
The desert is a really special place, it holds a kind of double meaning. It seems really desolate on the surface but is filled with so much vibrance when up close, when you're paying attention. I still have never seen another place with sunsets as good as what we have here, and those warm color palettes have managed to seep into my work. Another reoccurring theme that is definitely from the AZ landscape are pools (90% of homes here have them), I am always returning to a simple image of a pool, or some form of representation of it. I love the symbolism of a pool, it's reflection from the water can create an illusion that it's a flat surface, but when you get up close you realize the depth below.
Grapes. Found image, pencil. 5"x7". 2015
Can you tell me about a particularly formative moment you've had in Arizona, and how it contributed to a piece of work or a line of thinking?
Community is such an important factor for artists and without the support of peers we all diminish. When I was around 17 or 18, I was living with some friends in Central Phoenix and was introduced to people that were connected to the underground music scene here. I remember going to a house way out in Southern Phoenix and seeing one of Marshstepper's first shows, which featured a ritualistic performance involving masks, cauldrons, mass amounts of fog, low red lights, and of course loud distorted sound backed up by indistinguishable vocals. I remember being pretty blown away and excited that there was this whole other dimension to Arizona that I wasn't aware of.
That event opened to the door to many other shows, people, and art that was incredibly inspiring. Although at the time I wasn't aware that I was in such an essential moment for underground art in AZ, I am so glad I was around and got to experience that. It was then I that I realized there were actually so many other like-minded people who could relate to how I was feeling in this weird little place we were all residing in. There was something magical about that time that we shared together, and I know those who were a part of it cherish it as well. There is still some of this happening today, and it happens in cycles, but many of the key players have since moved away to places like LA and NY.
Loose Lips. Laser etched acrylic, neon. 13"x12". 2017
Do you find the people around you to be receptive to your work? And where, if at all, does your work fit in?
AZ has cycles of creativity, and I can get really nostalgic for the old days when it was in that thriving moment. People feel that they outgrow AZ and tend to move away, and this creates a dynamic that can be hard to keep up with, since it's constantly changing. To make a good city like NY, LA, or SF successful, it takes roots, people who want to create that type of community, and doing the work to make it happen. It's definitely harder to get the kind of exposure you would get if you lived in one of the major coastal cities, so I don't blame anyone who seeks that out. The good thing is I've been seeing a recent upswing in art, music, and community that I'm pretty excited about. I've had more opportunity for art shows than ever, and I've seen more galleries opening, which is extremely important.
Daggers. Cardstock, acetate, ink, acrylic paint. 5"x7". 2014
I get the impression that your process involves spending a lot of time purely looking at your work. Can you describe the feeling of looking, and the one that comes when you've found something to be finished?
There's lots of time spent looking and experimenting, and when something works out, the feeling is truly euphoric. The final moments of finishing a piece can be very tricky; when assembling, it's like a balancing act to know when to stop and to know when to walk away. You have to go with your gut and not compromise on this. I can get stuck in the studio so easily for hours because I feel an overwhelming need to complete a work, but most of the time it's actually more beneficial to get some separation from it and get out of my own head for a bit. It's almost like I have an obsessive quality to creating these things. They're my way of sorting everything out that I'm taking in, a way of visually communicating the inner workings of the mind. I suppose the true answer comes in when I receive feedback from the viewer, their observations, the validation that the ideas I'm trying to get across are coming through, this is when a work is truly complete to me.
Untitled. Pencil. 5"x7". 2016 24"X32"x5"
What are you reading right now?
Virginia Woolf's The Waves is on my bedroom nightstand. Her use of soliloquies from different characters is very intriguing to me, and it's written in such a poetic way. I am a big fan of poetry and try to write a poem every week. It can be hard to follow along with this style of writing, but I'm very interested in the non-linear narrative she uses in this particular book. The way she interprets the human condition and its many layers is inspiring.
