nikkidump part 2. i think it is a WOEFULLY underutilized tool in the sn community that the player character is a canonical self insert. where the hell are all the sonas? i want to see more of them.

anyway, i got a MASSIVE kick out of the concept of doing some self indulgent sketches. this is sn!li thality. their main contribution to the nikki crew is being an asshole whose first solution to most of the problems they face is shooting them with a gun. they dont know a single thing about fashion OR styling. they are BALD. they make it a point to let the group know at every possible opportunity that all of this is incredibly stupid and that a magic system based on clothes has got to be the most inconvenient thing ever conceived of. they grow grudgingly more attached to the crew after a few months, but those few months are rough.

Been thinking about oc’s today

#kind of love them there’s only 3 characters associated with the story they’re attached to #I accidentally came up with a love triangle but it’s barely one since two of the characters were just using each other for their own needs #well mainly one the other just has issues with being alone and is the type to latch onto anyone who’s nice to them and the other person #needed them for reasons so #but I have a sexy guy who’s been going through a bad divorce and is a trucker who just went went on vacation and well #things go horribly wrong and so the story goes #I’m being vague on purpose but it’s very self indulgent #I sketched up the divorced man to be but I’m still thinking about the others #rambling #horror ensues #the trucker has an 8 year old and all and he loves kids in gen #he’s really chill and big and cool and and and #I gave him piercings a tapered dyed Mohawk and some sharp sideburns since that look is kinda…#he likes Hawaiian shirts and wearing leather jacket and pants In whatever weather doesn’t matter if it feels like it’s 100 degrees outside #it’s all about the aesthetic to him even tho he isn’t #a superficial type and is pretty easy going #kind of loud and can be a bit obnoxious but not in a rude way

Your cute, detailed, and clean artstyle captivated me. I seriously stalked your Twitter everyday because I was honestly addicted (😭). You kept me going, and when I felt down I would hop on my computer and look at what you created. Your collaborative canvases were also a blast, and I loved sketching with everyone! I did a quick little sketch (by quick, I mean it took me like 2 hours lol) I still struggle with feet and shoes...

I just saw a pose on pinterest and thought omg, what if Astarion and my tav... but he's biting their thigh 🤭

Ofc, I had to name it.. thirst... and I added the "Happy" symbol to kind of cover a sketch I did on the same page... You know... it wasn't originally supposed to be just one piece, I was practicing poses and I liked this one way too much to just leave it or risk messing up when I redrew it.

This is entirely self indulgent.. and intended to be Spawn Astarion because he's so babygirl 🥰😘😍

🤣 also I don't think I posted but I got through the Cazador fight not too long ago.. and

Spoilers and dumb ramble ahead:

For most of my day, I sat there wondering how the fuck I would beat that bastard... he was one shotting Shadowheart with his fucking lightning bolt, then sending his gas minions after the survivors. Astarion being in the ritual made it 10× more difficult.. so... I cheated... and fuck... It should have been obvious...

I LITERALLY FORGOT FOR THE ENTIRE FUCKING DAY THAT VAMPIRES ARE WEAK TO SUNLIGHT.. I blame Astarion and his parasite as well as Alucard for that one honestly.. the day walker thing kind of made me forget that omfg immunity to daylight is an exception, not the rule..

So I felt stupid.. once I got that, it was so much easier.. oh and almost constantly had Astarion in stealth kill mode until Cazadick was gone.

Also side note.. the VA for Cazador is perfect.. Like they really sells the "I'm a pathetic little worm, and your worst nightmare, fear me while I bitch and cry" LOL and again that's a compliment.. Larian really succeeded in making an evil character extremely grating and hatable which again, a good thing, not a bad thing.

The heartbreak I felt though afterwards when Astarion screams and cries.. God.. the second I got to this scene, I KNEW I couldn't let him ascend, doing so would be so cruel.. and yes.. this is ascended Astarion slander, I don't like my men too domineering.. maybe a little bit, but not enough to like kill innocent children and eat their hands or some shit lmfao (Doing a durge run too.. where I'm going to ascend Astarion and be a horrible bastard that eats babies) and I don't like that he loses the genuine feelings he has for tav/durge and becomes what he sought to destroy, an abuser.

Now.. the graveyard scene... I had tears in my eyes.. Honestly, the reason I love Astarion so much is because he is quite relatable. I will not go into detail, but I was.. SAed and abused as a kid. And honestly.. Seeing the bit where he scratched out his death date, made me feel hope.. for myself... For my own healing.. it truly meant so much seeing another survivor of abuse begin anew, find themselves again... even though I have done that already myself for the most part, I've found purpose, passions, love, heartbreak, etc and I've found some level of beauty in the life. I related quite a lot to the line about sex feeling tainted.. I am at a point where it no longer feels as terrible, I feel genuine enjoyment in it... (Can't do casual sex though.. That would trigger me into a ptsd attack) And I think part of that was letting myself go at my own pace, making sure my partners knew, and having control and the ability to consent and revoke consent at any point. Emotional attachment helped a great deal too.

I've rambled on enough.. but... Let me end this off by saying, If you went through unspeakable horrors at the hands of those who you thought were supposed to protect you, You are not alone, Even if you do not see it now, there is light at the end of the tunnel, keep on living, keep trying to find joy in little things. It does get better, what was done to you was horrible and you did not deserve it. I promise, you will see better days. You will be happy again, even if you feel like the pain will never end, there is always moments of calm.... live for those... live for your pets, live for your friends, the people around you, live for that cute thing you just ordered, live for that movie or TV series you're excited about watching... even the next patch for bg3.. or more Astarion content if that's your reason right now... and take it one day at a time. You will be okay.

If you need to vent out some shit, I'll listen, I may not know what to say or be able to offer comfort, but I will always lend an ear, even to a total stranger if they need it.

Oh my goodness gracious oz posting? On here??? No wayyyyyyy oh my oh how horrible and awful this is mostly self indulgence posting cause why not so ignore this ig idk 😁😁😁😁

I dont talk about it on here as much as I used to but i really really really like wizard of oz mostly the first three books in the series cause theyre the best.

Since I'm insane ive been planning out a whole oz story kind of rewrite (I'm not sure what to call it, its for fun so idk if it matters) based off the first three books cause I really really love them. Its still pretty unfinished and i have a lot to work on, idk if I'll ever actually finish it but for the time being its fun

Idk again self indulgence post, I'll probably keep this mostly to instagram cause its where im most active and its less scary on there?? I GET NERVOUS ON TUMBLR AND DISCORD MAN THERES TOO MANY COOL PEOPLE I GET SCARED‼️

They did indeed go by “The Disgraced Academic” after those terrible businesses at the University and the Shuttered Palace. Before that they were the Infelicitous Mendicant- the Bazaar streets are full of people who just stare at the walls, trying to decipher the Bazaar’s Correspondence. The Disgraced Academic spent several fruitless years trying to piece it all together. They’d likely still be out in the cold, sketching and getting shoes thrown at them by urchins, if it wasn’t for The Topsy King and The Marvellous.

As for the future? There may be a new title on the horizon (but man, changing their name would mean changing the tag, and I want to keep things simple for myself XD )

🎩 What would an Exceptional Story featuring this character be about?

This one’s really tough; should I be super self-indulgent, or try to balance something that would center an actual player? I’m used to designing stories where my OCs are NPCs for a tabletop group, or interact with player characters, so I do actually have quite a lot of fun not making my OCs the main character!

They’d probably make for a good minor antagonist; someone fun to humorously beat, or a good example of an upper-class/rich villain who is only temporarily allowed to live their perfect life, due to social class and lucre. A story with themes regarding how social clout will never protect you the way a real community will. If I were allowed to be hyper-self-indulgent, then likely it might be about stifling actual art in order to prove themself to Pages in order to “be one of the good ones.”

Horrible. Disgusting.

It’s very fun to get to play a morally gray person who cuddles up to The Masters, but as an NPC, I think they deserve a swift kick straight into the mud. They’d be ever so much healthier hanging out in Helicon and September’s Balmoral, rather than Pages’ coterie.

Week Four

Totally self indulgent this week as I take a comment from @gaviiadastra and run with it.

This week is FISHTANK!

The Details

I will post a small palette of colours, on Sundays.

Take the colours, which will not be precise, because I’m too lazy to get out my Pantone swatches, and colour matching sucks across monitors and printers and yeah, it’s a graphic design nightmare. So take the approximate colours and do something with with them. Art, craft, traditional, digital, performance, big, small, using all the colours, one of the colours, a derivative of the colours, fanworks or not fanworks, whatever works. I know, getting the creative brain to produce anything is a pain in many body parts. And writers, if this floats your boat, grab it and let’s go sailing :D

Post it to your blog (or not, but I’d love to see it anyway) and tag with #nuttypalette (the whole challenge title is too long and it abbreviates to npc which while I love Ryan Reynolds, isn’t really what I’m looking for :D )

How I ended up doing this

Okay, I’m possibly nuts, actually, probably nuts, but I’ve been looking for a way to activate my art a bit more. I can draw, paint, whatever and I have a studio full of glorious equipment that is barely getting used.

I had thought to start a sketch book, but the problem with that is that not all my media can be supported in a sketch book and plus I am horribly hard to tie down into one thing (you may have noticed).

I was pondering away and it occurred to me that the one thing that links all my art and craft media is colour. This combined with the fact that I have a pile of beads lined up on my desk in colour combos waiting for me to action something with them. They are like mini palettes.So what if I come up with a small combination of colours every week and do whatever with those colours?

I know I’m not the first to have this brain wave, but it struck me as something I could do, so I’m doing it. Initially for the month of February and see what happens. It may fizzle into nothing due to being back at work :( but at the very least I’ll end up with a little bit of creative stuff done?

So I’m slapping it here, in case anyone would like to join in.

oh, not to be sappy, but—last snow. trying to reread it now is a kind of agony, mainly because i can so clearly see how much better it could have been. but i am nevertheless very proud of it. it's self-indulgent, it's idiosyncratic, it's written literally for an audience of one (me). but i did it! i wrote it and i made it into something i wasn't totally ashamed to release into the world. i got to look at the first days of horrible red oni/blue oni jackasses, sketched out the broadest strokes of how they've changed since then, and of course got to blather on for nearly 25,000 words about sacred hospitality. AND i finally became a real ao3 author, updating a fic despite stupid real-life misfortune! i am so full of love about these stupid depressed cavemen. 25/7.

I frequently discuss media, art, fiction, and fandom, and the ways these things relate to real-life issues. That is probably the most frequent way you will see me discuss social justice issues on this blog, as I do not use this particular platform for activism.

However, the existence of a relationship between real-life issues and art does not mean that relationship is easily definable, consistent, bidirectional, or one-to-one.

Nothing I say is ever meant to suggest that preferences in fiction (whether creation or consumption) are indicative of real-life desires/morality. Fiction can cause real-life harm, but that does not mean fictional harm causes real-life harm. Discussion of fictional characters and their actions may be related to similar discussions of real-life people, but they are not the same thing, nor should they be approached in the same way.

I like discussion, not passing judgment on individual tastes. In this context, please just take me literally; my words are not secretly implying condemnation or endorsing harassment.

That applies in both directions: I don't support efforts to pass judgment in this manner. Okay... I threw m plans for a Mermay picture out of the window. I've been binging "My Time at Portia" for days now. This is just such a relaxing and unagitated game that brings me so much joy with building and fulfilling the commissions for the townspeople.

My builder Cassidy nearly instantly fell in love with the head of Civil Corps (the "police" of the town) and Arlo is just so cute.

So I had to feed my current hyperfixiation with a quick fanart of Cassidy with her husband Arlo (yes, she managed to marry him on the last day of the first year :3)

Okay... so... this was supposed to be my "personal art" piece for March. But migraine... I at least managed to finish it and I am mostly satisfied with the outcome. Since it's not a commission I am not going to fret too much over the parts that didn't turn out quite like I wanted them.

But at least I got myself a Lynn/Bruno fanart while I am still enjoying Season 4 of "Love Island the Game".

This game is truly a guilty pleasure and I am probably 20 years older than the target audience XD but it's silly and fun and I need that in my life right now XD Lynn is the main character in this season and I am playing her in the game.

And I know about the controversies around season 4. But I decided that I can't shut out everything in my life that I enjoy because capitalism is a thing... I have fun - you just don't have to take this season too seriously XD

Lynn and Bruno would never work outside the Villa... but that's a problem for another day XD

Of course... right before I need to get back to work I find my inspiration and the motivation to draw again ;) At least that's a good sign that I am really over Covid (now I only need to get rid of that annoying cough...) But at least I could seize the remaining time and managed to finish something small for myself. A picture of Virgil Tracy - yes, it's that time again that I need Thunderbirds escapism and a self-indulging picture of Virg...

Btw... Virigl has horrible hair and I hate to draw it...

My #1 post of 2022

It’s the 16th... so we can post this, right? I’ve been waiting since May to finally be allowed to share this XD�� My contribution to this years TAG Mini Bang ( @tagminibang2022 / @tagminibang ) I got assigned to illustrate one of @womble1′s great fanfics and there was so much to chose from and many brilliant fics! ♥ But that one scene totally brought an instant image to my mind, so I had to illustrate it after I read the little story called “Rest”.

In the sunken seating area, Scott was stretched out across a sofa, head propped up on a cushion, a book in one hand, legs crossed at the ankles.

OCsona and a piece of their relationships with the Astral Express members :)

text below in case my handwriting is too messy

Cazh and March 7th: Cazh ranting about their interests and hobbies while March 7th listens, completely enraptured and waiting for her turn to do the same.

Cazh and Dan Heng: Cazh bringing Dan Heng pillows and blankets because they realized that he doesn’t have a bed. Dan Heng just woke up so he isn’t very Awake but he appreciates the gesture.

Cazh and Pom-Pom: Cazh, because they want to help and pay Pom-Pom back for accepting them into the Astral Express, does all their tasks but has to keep from laughing because they have to kneel down to talk to them. Pom-Pom keeps them company because they do all the tasks and usually stays behind in the expres.

Cazh and MC: Cazh indulges in MC’s more destructive behavior because its fun and they like spending time with them. MC also knows that Cazh has fun with destructive behavior so they’re the first they go to for fun.

Cazh and Himeko: Cazh has a horrible sleep schedule, so they’re usually awake at night--or what passes as nighttime in the Astral Express. Himeko is also awake at those times because she inhales coffee, so they keep each other company and Cazh makes her coffee even if they don’t like drinking it themself.

Cazh and Welt: Cazh loves to draw and sketch, but is a bit self-conscious to share them with Welt, who is a practiced and knowledgable animator. Welt likes to share his sketches and have drawing sessions with Cazh, and tries to assuage the idea that their drawings are less than his just because he’s an experienced animator.
