Steve might as well be speaking gibberish as far as you’re concerned, because not one word of his ten minute demonstration on how to play this video game has gotten through to you.

“I’m sorry, Steve, I don’t understand.” You say timidly, hoping he won’t get angry at you or call you stupid. You clear your throat and add, “I don’t really like shooting games. I th-think they’re barbaric and inappropriate.”

Steve snorts, his arm wrapped around your waist and securing you tightly on his lap while he manoeuvres the controller with his other hand. “Of course you think that, you’re just a little baby omega after all.”

You sigh, but there’s a part of you that’s curious about this whole situation. Steve’s never invited you to play video games with him before — the most you’ve done is sat on his lap while he played with his friends — which was objectifying enough except it made Steve feel really smug.

But today is different — he’s actually allowing you to play and you wonder what the catch is.

“Okay, now customise your character.” Steve orders you.

Your eyes widen, “Can’t I just play as your character?” (His character is called “AlphaKing4” and looks quite intimidating, in your humble opinion).

Steve doesn’t let you play as his character because apparently you’ll “ruin his ranking.” Instead, he helps you create your own: decking your avatar out in a pink bikini which does nothing to hide any of the digital cleavage.

“My character doesn’t have any armour on, Steve.” You point out shyly — because you’re no expert on this game but “AlphaKing4” seems to be decked out in heavy armour from head to toe, making your own character look very vulnerable and naked in comparison.

“Omegas don’t wear armour.” Is the response you get, before he grabs your hips and repositions you on his lap, so that your bum is right on top of his crotch and your back is against his abs. Casually, he thrusts upwards, his hardness poking against your ass deliciously and making you gulp.

“Go on, baby. Start playing.” He whispers almost beguilingly into your ear as he hands you the controller.

Predictably, you lose almost immediately. It only takes a few seconds for the enemies to completely decimate your character, and you pout in annoyance.

“I lost.” You say sadly, barely noticing Steve’s fingers deftly unbuttoning your blouse. “H-Hey! What’re you doing?”

“Shhh, baby, try again.”

You do. And, of course, you lose again. No matter how hard you concentrate (which you can’t because Steve’s hands are rubbing up and down your sides and he keeps popping more of your buttons open).

You yelp when the final button is opened, and he begins to push your blouse down, all while sponging wet kisses on your bare neck.

“Steve, ah!”

He chuckles meanly, “Oh, didn’t I mention? There’s a penalty — each time you lose, you strip off an item of clothing. And you’ve lost twice now.” He peels your blouse off and throws it aside, leaving your top half in just your bra, “So what’s next, skirt or bra? You can decide.”

You gape at him and shake your head pleadingly, “N-No! Steve, no! Not here!”

“Well, it’s not my fault your little baby brain couldn’t grasp the concept of a video game.” Steve smirks, fingers now playing with your bra strap and making your heart thud at the thought of Sam or Bucky walking in — you’re in the living room after all!

“Please stop!” You wiggle in his arms but his grip is like iron, pushing your bra strap down.

“Rules are rules, omega. Unless you prefer the other penalty.” His hands now slip down to your skirt, unzipping it and pushing it down and you can’t believe how quickly he’s gone from teaching you how to play a video game to forcibly stripping you while you cower in his arms.

“O-Other penalty?”

“Mmhm. You. Over my knee. Every time you lose, you get ten smacks with the paddle.” Steve licks his lips, “bare ass.”

You gape at him because this hardly seems fair at all! And the paddle scares you to death because Steve is always threatening to use it on you (he never gets a chance to because you’re usually always good and behave yourself for him).

“N-No! No paddle, please no paddle!”

“Then you better strip, baby.”

You sniffle, pushing your bra strap back up and opting to take your skirt off instead. At least Steve’s heavy arm across around waist would somewhat shield you — for now. But you have a strong feeling that the rest of this gaming session isn’t going to go in your favour.

“That’s my good little omega,” Steve kisses your cheek condescendingly before squeezing your bare thighs, “See? Playtime with daddy can be fun, can’t it?”

Are you named after anyone? Yes, a musician my mother met in Russia!

When was the last time you cried? Huh. I think like, two months back? Trigun '98 episode 23. If you know you know. (I am wrapping u up in a blanket.)

Do you have kids?  Nope! I think I might like to be a foster parent someday, though, once I have the money and the time do it properly.

Do you use sarcasm a lot? I- huh. I was gonna say yes, but honestly, not much in the last few years? I used to be so snarky and biting, like, all the time. It must have been really exhausting for the people around me. Now I think mostly it's just when I'm venting. Wild!

What sports do you play/have played?  I dunno if it's a sport if I don't compete but I enjoy martial arts! I do BJJ sometimes but I'm not very good at it, it's just for fun. Oh, and I was on a basketball team for a couple years, but I'm 5'3" and still don't know the rules so I think I was mostly just just for the body count, lol

What's the first thing you notice about other people?  Demeanor. Are you calm or tense? Loose or tightly-wound? Are you likely to explode if you encounter a perceived obstacle? Are you agreeable and easygoing? Or are you pent-up and raw and itching for a fight?

God, I don't think people realize how visibly LOUD they are when they're unhappy.

Some people are like music, moving along to their own little beat or tune, and then a heavy, harsh note walks in and you just KNOW they'll fuck up the rhythm if you brush too close. It's wild. Are they aware of it? Do they care? Who knows.

What's your eye colour?  Brown! Sorta like.... hmmmm. #622a0f in the middle, with a darker ring around the outside. (Never did relate to the 'brown eyes are boring' gang, always liked mine too much. Then again, I was the only one in my family with brown eyes, so maybe it was that.)

Scary movies or happy endings? Scary movies WITH happy endings? But no, actually, I hate watching horror movies. I LIKE them, I think a lot of them are very good and it's an underrated genre, I just. Don't enjoy being scared. Or sad.

Any special talents?  I'm an artist- I enjoy watercolor, acrylic, and India ink as painting mediums, I'm rather good at realistic stippling, I'm decent at identifying animal bones, I enjoy sculpting and sewing and needle-felting, I'm finally at a point where I like to read my own writing, I enjoy interior design and have been told I'm good at it, I'm a pretty good cook, and I've been told I'm a decent singer! I can also fold incredibly tiny origami cranes, and pick up on new languages well enough for simple use.

And I be far more proud of any number of these things if I did them a little more often.

As it is, I sleep a lot.

Dream job?  Okay so imagine this: There's a VERY rich eccentric hell-bent on accumulating strange art, and by some miracle they are both mentally stable and not a gigantic dickhead. They travel a lot and don't really enjoy socializing so I don't have to kiss their ass.

Twice a month I receive an automatic deposit into my bank account and in return, all they want is a reasonably steady continued production of literally whatever art. Portraits, statues, robotics, ceramics, conceptual shit, costumes, carvings, literally whatever.

And they'll cover educational expenses for it all so I can go back to college and learn screen printing and 3D animation and use the kiln and shit forever and ever, and take up apprenticeships at tattoo parlors and volunteer as a face painter and pick up photography, and just create as much beauty and love and confusion and joy as I possibly can forever and ever and ever until I die.

And I'll have enough money to own my own apartment that I'll paint in all my favourite colors, with murals and everything, and have a cat who I will of course spoil rotten, and maybe adopt a few weird and goofy kids who'll have sleepovers with their friends in the living room and play new bad music that I pretend to hate, and when they fuck up and do stupid shit like kids do, maybe I'll handle it better than my adults did.

And maybe if they like making stuff too, I can make stuff with them. And maybe I'll get to see them do it better than me. And maybe I'll get to see them do everything better than me. And maybe they'll be happier, too.

So, uh. I guess I'd like to be an artist. A sugar baby-artist? Sugar baby artist combo. I'd like to have a patron is what I mean. A sponsor. Yeah

Hello! I've seen a bit of wiccan (?) things for a while, if I were to start I wouldn't even know how to start though. (my autistic ass does not leave the house and my mom would probably think it's weird to make strange concoctions of things) I also don't really know how deities work and how do you find out which one your communicating with? Tbh I've always felt like someone is around but whatever god it is seriously fucking hates me /hj Been better since I started medication but like the luck I have is 50/50 good bad and that is probably not normal. I just want to start by defining a few terms for you :)

Wicca/Wiccan: A pagan religion that focuses on nature, magic and witchcraft. It was founded in the mid 20th century and Wiccans primarily worship 2 Gods which are personifications of nature.

Witch: Just a person who practices witchcraft. It's a non-gendered term and a non-religious term/practice. Not all witches are Wiccan but all Wiccans are witches. Witches can be absolutely anyone

Personally, I'm not Wiccan so I can't really tell you much about that but if there is one thing I know, it's witchcraft! There are many different places to start but I'm going to condense it down as much as humanly possible. It'll probably feel like a bit of information overload so just try to take it slow and relax. Enjoy the learning.

My favourite book for beginner witchcraft is 'Witchery: Embrace the Witch Within' by Juliet Diaz. She is a fantastic author and wonderful human. Everything about the basics of witchcraft you could need is in that book (imo). You should be able to find a pdf online if you can't get a physical copy.

As for youtube channels with solid content:

Harmony Nice: She covers everything Wicca. She has a playlist with all her Wiccan/witchy content witch is linked here

The Witch of Wonderlust: Olivia has been a favourite witchy youtuber of mine for a while. I wouldn't recommend jumping into her videos without any prior knowledge but once you have a grasp on the bare bones it should be okay. Here is a playlist she made with everything you could possibly need when beginning witchcraft. SOrt through the videos and see what peeks your interest.

The Hearth Witch: Another wonderful account if I remember correctly. Her videos used to be on the longer end (30-60mins) so if you have a short attention span then maybe not but she has a wealth of information.

I also recommend joining a few discord servers, following a few pages on tumblr just to get acquainted with the community and terminology.

Okay, on to the deity work situation. Deity work is generally considered more intermediate in the witchcraft community. key words being 'Deity WORK'. Worship is completely fair game. Setting up an altar, praying, leaving offerings, doing activities in devotion to the deity is absolutely something you can do relatively quickly.

As for IDing a deity, most people do it through 'divination' which is things like tarot, a pendulum, dice, bone throwing, and other ways. Most people also ask for signs that a specific deity is 'reaching out' to them or wants them to pay attention. You can also politely ask someone who is volunteering their time on tumblr or a discord server to find out for you via divination. If they don't say their doing free readings, obviously, don't ask.

Finally. luck is luck. It makes no sense for a literal God to hate a human. We all have periods of shitty luck and awesome luck! I wouldn't blame that on anything. Sometimes bad things just happen unfortunately. But sometimes amazing things also happen, even if it's just as small is finding 5 cents on the footpath.

This is such a cute ask to be getting, I feel like I don't really deserve this seeing as *gestures to my blog* you know?

But also, I gotta be honest, idk if I could contribute anything to all the hcs a lot of drei ??? fans already talked about seeing as I really only read the books when I was smaller and my fave versions of them are the one from the American Movies (which are widely seen as not being that popular or in-character but I just. Absolutely adore these movies).

But just from the top of my head:

Let me just say, I don't think they'll stay Die Drei ??? forever or that they'll start an actual detective agency

Mostly because they cannot live off of doing cases for free forever

But they probably cannot help stumbling into cases sometimes anyway, simply because they're so used to it

Bob will be alone at college and just bust a whole ass drug ring going on and nearly die and then go: 'Nothing much.' when Peter calls and asks him what he's been doing the last few weeks.

Justus - who's working as a translator and who especially loves trying to decipher ancient greek and latin and stuff - doesn't even blink when Peter sends him a blurry picture of words scribbled on a wall going: 'Help, Erster??' at like two am

Aside from that though, they're leading a pretty normal life

I can see Justus doing semi-professional swimming competitions in his free time and to everybodies surprise, Jelena is the one attending most of these

Nobody is sure whether they're..Friends? Dating? They keep bickering but also Justus takes Jelena to every Vernissage Bob organizes as his plus one so???

Btw, Bob did get a degree in journalism but he's taken on a job organizing different events for artists and musicians

He's mostly working with lesser known people but they all agree that he's a joy to work with and that they feel like they're being taken seriously by him

(Bob also had a phase in college where he tried writing his own songs but he's mostly given up on that. It was enough to endear some girls toward him, but definitely not enough to have his big breakthrough and he's fine with that)

It started out as Peter and Jeffrey making short work out videos and talking about different sports they're interested in but because of a very - very - stupid dare that was totally Jeffrey's fault, they ended up going to a haunted house

And that was the single most popular video on their channel for several months so Peter very reluctantly agreed to do more of these

More like, he's trying to talk his way out of going until the very last minute, he's arguing about turning back while they're already standing in front of the haunted place of the month

(The thing is, they don't try to fake any ghost appearances, so nothing much supernatural happens in any of these videos. Most viewers simply think it's super amusing to watch Peter nearly pee his pants because of wind blowing a window shut or something mundane like that)

Peter still insists on making videos about sport though

I have 3 episodes left of hazbin hotel. thoughts so far. They're not anything special im just rambling

keep in mind im sleepy and also not present enough to like. be having Proper thoughts. Also I know very little about visviepop/hazbin/helluva, only what's been put in front of me

the premise isnt really anything special. that being said I've seen a lot worse. this isnt necessarily a criticism, you can redo things, but the "angels are the evil ones actually" like I had a supernatural special interest. first time I've seen the "the first woman created was lilith and she rejected adam" thing though. idk i don't watch a lot of religious themed stuff

The main beef I have with the story is like. They have the premise there but theyre not addressing how it GOT to be like that. Theyre only focusing on how they're trying to solve it. Sure charlie is trying to change it NOW, has been for at least a couple of years, but what about before then?? what made her think this way?? When no one else seems to care about redemption? Some world building please. Unless thats been convered by helluva boss but i dont wanna watch a while ass other show to know what's happening.

And whats up with her and her dad, what drove them apart so much, and it seemed like there was nothing connecting them at all and then they were like "im so greatful to have you I always have been"

"Oh but youre only half way through season one of course its not all getting answered straight away" to me it felt like it all got addressed and resolved in one song. Idk. Normally dads and daughters with complicated relationships really get to me no matter what the show is but I was just kinda like eh.

A couple of characters got decent Character Moments, from the top of my head angel, husk, radio guy and other overlord guys, but a lot of the other Character Moments just kinda. didn't feel like a lot. Vaggy im so sorry what they did to you. Both your character development and your name oh my god

the character designs are. :/ a lot of them have so much potential, but are either Way Too Much or Way Too Little. please break charlies colours up Please. I like angel's design👍 EXCEPT. he looks nothing like a spider not even a stylised one. commit to the bit if youre gonna have a bit. Where's his spider ASS. and with such varying characters a lot of them sure do look the same. somehow.

I like the songs 👍 very catchy and the singers sounded really good. Idk shit abiut music but it sounded nice :)

art style isnt my favourite but thats just personal preference. Im already getting used to it. The animation was weird sometimes? Elisabeth is an alternate spelling of Queen Elizabeth’s name, used since she’s half English. She's also in universe, named after Elizabeth Bennett from Pride and Prejudice. Her middle name is taken from the character in Sword Art Online. It seemed appropriate since Asuna is also someone who is isekaied in a way and I wanted her to have the Japanese connection besides just her last name. Asuna also translates to Apple Tree which I liked for it's connection to Vil and Snow White’s story

Hi! I just wanted to say that I finally watched that deleted scene of Michael and Kay prank calling Tom from a hotel and I adored it! I was smiling the whole time and thought that the two were very cute together. Imo that one short scene contained more love/chemistry than the whole Sicily sequence and I wish it was kept in the film. I’ve come to realize how ridiculous the Kay slander really is and how uncomfortable a lot of takes about the film in general have made me. I even saw someone claim that she’s just as bad as the mobsters for getting the abortion 😬. Luckily I found a great article online written in Kay’s defense that I think does a great job summarizing her perspective!

I love it soooo much! 💖 It's Michael and Kay FOREVER to me. 😭 And I ABSOLUTELY agree with you over the Sicily sequence. In that hotel scene alone we see so much fluff, love, intimacy, the snuggling, Michael smiling at Kay while she's talking to Tom on the phone 😩🥺...!! So many things!

I've been a Kay stan from the moment I watched The Godfather and have always loved her and her character. ❤ She's honestly a very misunderstood and hated character which is so weird to me because the opinions I hear online/on TGF video clips are always misogynistic, hating Kay for standing up for herself/leaving Michael as if Michael's actually a good person...lmao. 💀

I also really wish people would stop comparing Kay and Apollonia all the time; they're literally two different people who played two completely different roles in Michael's lives and impacted him greatly. Sadly with a lot of Kay slander/hate like a good 80% of the time, Kay is hated while Apollonia's praised for being submissive...wishing to give Michael babies, etc, a lot of cringe, disgusting, misogynistic traits some people have been assigning Apollonia like...do you hear yourselves? Yikes. 😬 I also think we can appreciate and analyze both characters without tearing them down (mostly Kay in this case). Kay is also so much more of a developed character in the book too, which I wish we saw in the film because she's almost a completely different person!

Kay is, if anything, one of the most good natured characters in the entire film. From start to finish, she loved Michael and only wanted the best for him and his family, but when he continued to lie to her, put her and her children's life in danger and was all nonchalant about it, you know miss Kay had the right to ask if Michael was a sociopath or what... Michael was SELFISH. 😭 He didn't give a shit about anyone except for himself in TGF1 & Part II.

Kay had all the right to leave Michael's ass imo. I love Michael for so many reasons and he's the blorbo of my blorbos, but I know he's not a good person (nor will I pretend he is lol), the atrocities definitiely make him interesting but he wasn't a great father and not a good husband either. 😩💔 As for the abortion Kay had, tbh I think a vast majority of some people's opinions on it is coming from their own personal opinion of whether they generally support abortion or not. It's always "she killed a baby", it's never considering the context, what happened to her, or anything else, really... Kay is not worse than a mobster for having an abortion. 💀 People just hate strong, independent women like her especially against Michael when Kay wasn't afraid to talk her shit and point out what Michael was doing and who he was becoming.

Read Toys by Osamu Dazai

I’ve dealt with video games, visual novels and videos that were very meta before, but this was my first time dealing with literature this meta, and I don’t know what to make of it.

It starts out with an unnamed I returing to his family home from Tokyo, his parents are angered and upset to see him. He needs money to afford his lavish lifestyle and nice clothes. He knows his family doesn’t have the money, so he intends to steal some possessions to sell. I don’t know whether Dazai ever stole from his family or not, but he did claim an allowance on and off from them, which he mostly squandered on alcohol, clothes and prostitutes. I think in this instance, he’s showing the guilt he felt for that.

After this he then talks about how he wants to write a story called Toys, recounting memories from being 3 years old, then 2, then 1 and then in the womb. He doesn’t know whether to show his cold exterior or his inner embroiling emotions. He then talks about how abstraction causes one to go on a wild goose chase, making theories and interpretations of a work before you wind up “feeling like an ass” and being thoroughly lost and confused with only a dizzy headache to show for it.

He talks about how he writes the story, how he hides himself and manipulates the reader, then reveals himself when he has the reader right where he wants them. He mentions how he’ll use the memories in a larger context. He invites the reader to a drink before he writes the memories, then sets about writing them.

The memories themselves mostly portray a richer inner world than be perceived by the adults around the infant, such a conversation with a daruma doll, though an adult comments the infant hasn’t made a noise at all only staring at it. He mentions going through a bout of insanity, merely perceived as just soiling himself to his caretakers. It goes on and describes him witnessing the death of his grandmother, and mentions how even now he can still hear the nursery rhyme she sang, then says “spare me the rest! after recalling it. The story then ends with just the note “(Unfinished)”. and none of the wider context of the story is revealed.

I really am lost with this one, as he predicted I would be. I think the memories aren’t too significant, really it’s the conversation he had about his method for writing and how he handles the reader. I think ultimately, Dazai really did just want to be understood by people, and his writing was the only way he could do so, he talks so much here about how he hides himself and then reveals himself, how he tries to remove his cold exterior, then get it back without losing anything.

This may just be my favourite short story of all time.

KLONOA: Door to Phantomile

a couple minutes that i recorded of myself starting a new game of Klonoa, because some friends haven't seen it before. i have a longer video here, of clearing Vision 1-1 and 1-2.

sorry if i'm a little slow/clunky, i've never done this kind of thing so for the short segment above i first used some shitty freeware that unfortunately only recorded in like 5-min intervals, and for my second try i used different software that required more finessing but i used it to record up to the 2nd boss fight. maybe sometime i can do a proper run with a hot mic so you can really hear my dark nights of the soul with this children's game.

it gets even better than this!

i do have favourite games, but the truth is more that i have "games i've played" (and those are my favourites) and "games" (all other games. there's gotta be at least a hundred by now!) i'm not very good at them lol so i guess what happened is that if i'm going to sink hours and hours into something i end up enjoying it. but Klonoa is pretty breezy (haha.)

most of the games i played as a kid were distinctly of their time: strange, empty, experimental expanses full of 90s patterns and colours, with corners creatively cut. vast, sisyphean 3D platformers like Croc or Glover, all of the Myst games, virtual pets like Petz (dogz, catz) but also the Creatures series starting in 1996, and even more importantly, 1996's Fin-Fin-- produced by Osamu Tezuka's son, and while the company Fujitsu went under, Fin-Fin survives almost entirely due to a German fan site. fin-fin is genuinely perfect though, i mean look, look at this

Pokemon G/S/C were instantly and still are my favourite Pokemon installment for how much bigger and more mysterious they felt--and how much bigger they are literally! they're pretty huge games especially relative to the Pokemon games before and after. bigger still is how little is explained and how much room is left for a kid's imagination to build an experience from more simple pixels. it's a place to live in. coupled with the Pokemon 1999/2000 film featuring Lugia (my all-time fave) and my complete lack of access to any press about new Pokemon, the sense of mystery lasted quite a long time. the surprises, the entire soft but vibrant colour palette, the history and legends permeating the countryside, the simple but immersive integration of day/night and events throughout the week, and a soundtrack of top to bottom heaters... it felt personal, intimate.

compared to the newer series which i just find too stacked with convoluted elements. as of X/Y, they really began to feel like homework to me. i barely remember the plotlines after Black/White. i welcomed Heart Gold and Soul Silver, too, because it was incredible to see these beloved environments come into what was then HD focus. i replayed Crystal last summer (?) on my GBA and seamlessly remembered the way i imagined all those original environments and events. the limitations on these games make for infinite interpretation, and for me, contentment.

i don't tackle all my favourite media with the problem-solving/"what if" approach that i do with other properties... in fact it's pretty rare. games especially are a full sensory experience. Metal Gear Solid is another favourite series, special in that it's one of the few games i've repeatedly played just for the hell of it. Ace Attorney, which i was obsessed with as a young adult, i made almost 0 "content" for. i just didn't feel that impulse but still liked it all the same. versus something like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, which fucked my ass up; that was a world i wanted to not only explore, but explore by creating my own ideas bound to it. the fact that JJBA has continued for so long, incorporates many genres and tones, and has been adapted into multiple formats, means it's accessible to more people and i. (i need to save all that for its own post ha ha.)

Klonoa really is dreamy though, and that's essential to the story. it starts immediately following a luscious, ominous opening, and you're rushing off with little preamble. Klonoa himself is guileless and accepting of the logic presented, while his orb friend Huepow prompts him to question meanings and intentions. but why should he question it? why should you? it's his home, and just look at it! gorgeous.

the pan flute-heavy soundtrack rips. the characters speak in individual conlangs based on Japanese, sort of like the Sims. those little enemies i'm grabbing in the video are called Moos and there are different variants-- flying moos that look like parrots, moos that hop around on what looks like an inner tube with a spring, ghost moos, armoured moos (these run fast) and giant moos (which you can blow up to receive a handful of stones, or inflate to use them as a platform.)

i rented Klonoa from my small town's video store so many times that finally my parents begged them to sell it to us, and that's what happened. it's such a charming game, the colours and music and whimsical winding 2.5D tracks are cleverly and lusciously laid out. it makes no sense that this is contemporary with big time uggos Crash Bandicoot and Spyro. i loved Spyro too, because he was a little dragon and i was pretty confidently a little dragon, too. pwho doesn't love a melted ice cream-y world and a million sparkly sound effects! the closest i come to ASMR is the soft crunch of crashing through baskets of gems.

i'm grateful kids might experience a new and improved Spyro. those remakes don't rekindle excitement in me as much, only because i think i pretty much got what i wanted out of them when i was younger. and omfg Crash is something else entirely. i don't know much about those games because i was bad at them, but i played Crash Team Racing repeatedly until i sold it (and Ape Escape, a game i remember feeling genuine rage toward) to an old woman at a flea market lol. i learned last month that i'd never played story mode, didn't register that it was there at all, and it's so weird to discover a whole other aspect to this game. weird too because, like Crash proper, it's frankly a bit too racist!

now. need to talk about Klonoa more.

at the time, critics thought the games were "too cute" and "too easy", but now it seems like a lot of reviewers have gone back and adjusted their response-- the sequel is considered one of the greatest PS2 games iirc? even from the time, there are equal reviews remarking on seeming randomness of the difficulty level and, especially, toward the end, ramps up sharply. this game has some hard shit in it! especially when it comes to timing and building up momentum. lots of heights-based challenges that make me flinch and kick reflexively.

these came to me at a time with barely any internet, so games were just random items that appeared in my house or were available at the video store, not things i knew how to find or should consider finding on my own. i didn't know there was a sequel until i thought to punch "klonoa" into a search in my Netscape browser, something i could've done at any point (during my allotted 20-30min computer time) like an early human inventing fire lol. it was one of the first things i ever bought online and it came to me during a part of summer while my parents were away, and this hushed sense of freedom coloured my experience.

there are 2 Klonoa GBA games and a silly beach volleyball offshoot game as well, featuring characters from Lunatea's Veil onward. i played one of the GBA ones as a kid, Empire of Dreams, but i don't think i finished it. at the time, shrinking Klonoa into a gameboy just wasn't what i wanted-- i liked how odd and big the PS games felt, the structures receding into a darkness i simultaneously filled in and was thrilled by in its own right. and i was gutted by the story and wanted to follow it on the platform i loved most. but Empire of Dreams and Dream Championship both look so natural and very pretty, and i think these play basically like a Mario. i should try it again.

There are technically 3 handheld Klonoa games-- Moonlight Museum was only for the WonderSwan, but it can now be played as a translated rom, available here! i'm pretty sure it's intended to take place before(?) Door to Phantomile.

Empire of Dreams takes place in an indeterminate time after(?) Door to Phantomile. Dream Championship takes place after the Playstation 2 sequel, Lunatea's Veil, the direct continuation of Door to Phantomile and utilises the same foundation/mechanics.

from replaying them recently, i found out Klonoa 1-2 are being remastered for the nintendo switch. i don't have a switch so i can't compare, and i hope they retain all the same qualities. i played the Wii version of Klonoa many times and i did like it, but there is something that gets lost in each rework. even the colours and light of the switch version feel... yes, more "realistic" in some ways, but they're not as cohesive or as saturated, not as lively, a little faded. the UI isn't as unique either. i hope my impressions are wrong though and that regardless, it's still just as fun (and sad, haha.)

i'll have to show a bit of Lunatea's Veil, at least just one of my favourite locations... La-Lakoosha. i can run through it in my sleep.

Okay, it's like i have to break my promise not to write publicly, i hate it. but this one, i really want everyone to see it. first of all, i want @carolsfeelgoodstuff to read it bc she won't leave me alone and won't contact me personally.

We'll talk the concepts of YouTube and self-sufficiency.

1)YouTube.

YouTube is the world biggest platform for videos, it allows to upload the largest and the best quality videos possible. Also, YouTube is the first place anyone would go searching. I cut my vids to pieces to be able to upload every second available without violating the copyright of the original owner. Sometimes my vids get blocked, sometimes the rightholders unblock them, it's a very complicated system, and we're not talking about it today. but i always try to make everything stay on the channel the longest time possible. Why? It's done for the fans who may come not today, not even tomorrow. A year, 5 years, 10 years, whatever. It's an archive of everything in one place available for everyone from everywhere in the world. That's it. That's why i care about quality so much. Everything is categorized by folders (for the times when he is super famous ehehe) for quick search.

So, it's YouTube.

Now your favourite part. The word 'EXCLUSIVE' (my ass ™). That's where we come to the concept of

2) Self-sufficiency.

When i first started it, i was different, let's say so. I thought im gonna do something and people will love me (i know, ridiculous, ive grown up since then). It was not about archive, it was about me wishing to be included. Long story short, it failed. (i strongly believe everyone knows this story of me attacking people out of the blue like a rabid dog. Am i proud of it? No. But what's done is done.)

I had two ways. To stop doing what i was doing or to go on alone. I chose the latter :). This channel was the first thing in my life i didn't abandon after 5 minutes. I enjoyed every second of it. Editing, making covers, avoiding blocking and deciding what im gonna do next. Adam turned out a perfect muse for me. I never get tired of his face and he always inspires me to try something new. Months later, I understood that i didn't need to be included anymore, it was so enjoyable that i knew even if everyone unfollows me today, im gonna start from scratch tomorrow just because i love it. Even when it sux.

I stopped asking people here and on twitter to subscribe (i do ask on yt but it's a common practice). I became self-sufficient.

Wow! You ve read up to this! EXCLUSIVE (my ass ™).

When i discovered Branwell's vids, i was sooo excited (my ass ™), i posted an extract on twitter immediately but no one seemed interested. I won't describe the circles of hell i went through to upload it to yt in THREE, CARL, pieces to make it available all over the world. And i still wanted everyone here and on twitter to see it. The word EXCLUSIVE (my ass ™) seemed to fit the best to draw attention, bc i was absolutely sure no one saw it before. Then @wifeofbath asked me where i got it, but i was still pissed (not proud), and never responded. As simple as that.

You gonna ask me why i said no to you. Speaking both Louvel and Hamlet, when i do something i find especially appealing, i feel an urge to make a post here and on twitter. Even if no one likes it. it's a ✔️ for me. Like mission completed or something.

Speaking Hamlet in particular, first, because i wanted to gif this one myself. Hamlet is a really big deaI for me. Second, i was dumb and it took me longer than expected to find it (on rutracker, my ass!). Third, im so so so sorry to say it aloud, and please don't take it personally and for fuck's sake dont stop giffing, but like i said, i have nothing to lose. Im a rabid dog :). i stopped visiting tumblr as often as i used to because i couldn't find other people's posts through the mass of your gifs. I got irritated and just left quietly and went into post'n'go mode. Tbh i was embarrassed when you wrote me here through the question form. Also, later i found you annoying, and im sorry for that.

So these were all cases when anyone asked me for a source of anything.

Everything i post i found in open sources, it's like a sport for me. First you find it, then you post and then there's this russian roulette moment - will it be blocked or not? Or will i have to cut the shit out of it to make it available all over the world? With those videos, Im concentrated on yt only, i dont aim to upload it anywhere else, bc see pt. 1. I don't own them, i dont care who else posts them and where. Ive learned my lessons and i wanna go on in peace.
