Anon asked: Do you have any prompts/ideas for a caretaker caring for a sick character who is terrified of throwing up?

I have a couple:

“The more you try to stop it the worse it’ll be, y’know.” / “You’re making that up.” / “Maybe to stop you gagging, but seriously, better out than in.”

“Please, I don’t want to - it burns!”

Maybe the whumpee has a history of being forced to throw up/a serious illness.

Maybe the last time they did, they threw up blood due to a serious underlying injury/illness.

"I'll hold your hair if that's what you're worried about." / "Don't you dare."

Your whumpee could just be embarrassed, so the more shameless (or perhaps shy) caretaker takes them through their own embarrassing memories (drunken nights, illnesses, throwing up in front of someone because they're so excited/scared/anxious).

^ "Seriously, [whumpee] you throwing up from an illness is the most mundane thing imaginable. Everyone does it. The King of England does."

Maybe the whumpee has bad memories of being sick and alone, throwing up whatever's in their stomach. When the caretaker finds this out, they make sure to keep the whumpee comfortable - maybe giving them blankets/pillows and making sure their clothes are fresh and their mouth is clean after each bout.

Look, man. That was two years ago. Two years is a long ass time. I dunno what you said, but you were doing your best at the time. People change, you change. Fucking up is part of the process. Instead of taking it as something to cry and hate yourself over, take it as a learning experience. I know that can be really hard sometimes, but it's all part of the process.

Josh had found Gabriel and made sure that Hannah was hidden safe away in his apartment bedroom. If anyone were to go after her, they wouldn’t think to check his place at all. Before he’d locked her away safely in there, he made sure all the doors and windows were locked and the drapes were shut. He promised her he’d go out and make sure the others are okay.

He hadn’t seen anyone since the murders began other than Ashley so he assumed she’d be alright. The streets were eerily empty and that left a strong distaste in his mouth. He wasn’t sure who to look for first. The thought of possibly finding those he considered a friend once dead left an even stronger distaste in his mouth. He wasn’t sure if he could report back to Hannah with another death. There was so way she could handle it again.

All of that was halted when Josh ended up stepping in blood, the smell of iron filling his lungs. It made him sick to his stomach. There wasn’t a single bone in his body that wanted to go further, but he felt he had to. This could be someone’s child, someone’s sibling, someone’s significant other, or even someone’s parent. He had to go forth and figure out who the latest victim was.

He only took a few steps forward before he was met with family raven locks. Bile began to rise at the horrific sight. His knees began to feel weak as the body lay with the head detached from it. It wasn’t just any head though. It was the head that belonged to someone he’d considered a friend. How many more deaths would this man have to encounter for those he cared about?

“Holy shit…” He managed to utter before he had to swallow the bile that began to rise. “No, no… No they couldn’t of gotten you…” He backed away from the scene, tears in his eyes. She’d planned a cruel prank on his sister, but when he pushed that aside, he recalled all the memories the two shared and he began to feel sick all over again. He couldn’t stand here and witness the sight any longer. He began to dial the police number as he darted away from the scene, a single tear streaming down his face.

Do you really think you'll make a good parent? I doubt you can count being around Eath as experience in that regard.

No, you're going to crash and burn and if the child survives, they're going to come out more fucked up than you.

It had been something that'd been eating away at them for awhile. Thoughts like those. Their own parents were... they said it was tough love but deep down they knew better, knew how it fucked them up later down the lines. How they'd still have nightmares, moments of panic when someone they loved raised their voice or a hand at them.

The strangers words hit deep to their core and their normally proud and confident persona seems to shatter.

Their hands are shaking and their posture shifts. More defensive, scared, panicked.

Why did they think they could do this? Be a parent- a good parent. They were already so messed up, so damaged, of course they would fail. Of course they would do nothing but hurt this child, and innocent life they foolishly thought they could take care of.

Tears well in their eyes, and their heart pounds in their chest as they try to breathe,

I love when my pump says there's occulsions and I think the site itself is faulty but it's midnight so I have to wait until morning to do anything about it but then in the morning my bloodsugar is 468 and I have ketones that I have to flush out of my system and I find out that apparently the site wasn't the problem, the problem was the insulin cartridge but I figured that out after changing my site again and so I stay in bed for hours feeling miserable and thirsty and eventually I get up and the combination of left over ketones and cramps (did I mention I just got cramps yesterday) makes my stomach hurt so badly that I become nauseous and I try to throw up but I can't because I haven't eaten anything.

Anyway how's your day been
