What are your favorite TMA headcanons? :)

OOF OK so this might be all over the place because I don't think about headcanons too much but here we go!

Jon likes The Muppet's Christmas Carol because it's the most book-accurate

Martin runs office christmas cookie decorating like its the military (i'm projecting here)

Jon and Georgie adopted The Admiral together when they were dating

Jon is great at giving presents because he just Knows what people want

Basira also gives great presents. I think shes good at remembering small things that people mention, informing her gift choices.

Sasha enjoys watching older films, think 20's - 60's (especially silent films)

Melanie tried vlogging before ghost hunting, it didn't work out

MATILDA PRIME!!!!!!!!!

hi i definitely didn't forget to finish these so i could post them in a timely manner 😌

a bit about each of them under the cut :]

the thing they have in common is that instead of chaos energy causing the transformation from ant to mobian, it was the prism shards (which is why the eye colours are different)

maddie (new yoke)

she represents matilda's fighting side

a feisty member of the resistance who delights maybe a little too much in fighting

her closest friends are rebel and, shockingly, knux

they took her in after she escaped from the council post transformation

she's really intense, with less self control than matilda, she's always got a wild grin on her face in battle, and its a bit scary sometimes

her and knux started making bets on who can smash the most bots in a given fight

tilda

tilda is matilda's connection to nature and her origin as a little ant

she's just a little guy who lives in the woods with her ant friends

she transformed during thorn's rampage and got a bit of a beating before she really knew what was happening

she doesn't speak (she didn't learn how) and instead makes little noises she picked up from different critters

the little bugs and animals are her friends!!!!

sonic named her (he's not very creative)

there's a loneliness about her

tempest

tempest is matilda's revenge played completely seriously. she's on a mission and is not at all interested in fun

oh tempest.....by far the most different from matilda

a member of dread's old crew, she fought against the idea of him taking the shard, due to feeling connected to it

it didn't go well and left her with some scars

which sets her on a quest for revenge

tempest is matilda without much of matilda at all. she's focused, intense, and angry

I'll go into more detail eventually...but she ends up leaving her shatterspace with sonic, reluctantly working with him to ensure the safety of the shards

she interacts with shadow the most. it goes. very well

SHE DOES! it's just a few seconds looking at each paintings, and you can see her through the focus if you stand close to the vault door, so she's very much there, and she's very much walking around.

now since she doesn't have anywhere else to go (that we know of) I'm assuming she stays in the vault until Aloy brings Sylens "to heel" as she says. Thing is, you're not supposed to stay in an art vault for very long periods of time, because the air quality and humidity needs to be very exact for art to be preserved, the gasses in the air are not ideal for human lungs. When i visited a museum with my university, we were allowed entry to one of the storage vaults, to see how conservation works, and how art pieces are stored when not on display, and IIRC you're not supposed to stay there for more than... an hour, maybe 2 at a time? so that makes me curious as to how much of Tilda's body has been altered with the nano-tech the Zeniths have. (I haven't played burning shores yet, so i have no idea if more lore is revealed there, but my guess is that we learn a bit more about them)

Like the paintings were already really old when Tilda got her hands on them, the oldest piece being Lidded ewer, by Adam van Vianen, 1614, and the Aloy being born in 3021, that makes the piece at least 1427 years old by the time Aloy sees it, compared to it's 410 years today in our timeline. that is impressive conservation considering no-one was there to monitor the vault and it's content at all. like in comparison, art that is 1427 years old to us, is from 597 ad, that's when England adopted the Julian calendar, so wer're talking Byzantine art period, like the Hagia Sophia was built between 532-37 AD. and as a visual reference to what a lot of western art looked like around that time, here is a mosaic panel of Empress Theodora, from around the 540s, in the church of San Vitale in Ravenna.

like this is the span of time we're talking about, this is so fucking old, and i just fhjdshafjkds have a lot of thoughts around that.

ofc we can assume that conservation tech was pretty evolved from what it is today, but i still believe human hands would have a large part in conservation... as an art-history student, i just have a lot of thoughts around Tilda and her vault FJKDSJLKF

Do you think Tilda was ever nice to Beta at some point in time?

Nice question! I think she was always nice to Beta. Tilda is a troubled, lonely and very tortured woman. I think it was hard for her to see the love of her life cloned and tortured by the very people she sided with to escape Earth's apocalypse. It all had to be very traumatic and then seeing it again on the next planet she lived on with her fellow Zeniths. And once again Tilda was able to escape. I think she never lost her love for Lis and Beta may have shown some signs of that in her. But maybe she was afraid to show a more vulnerable side to the girl. Having to stay so strong, put up with Erik and Gerard bossing her around. They didn't even allow Tilda to raise Beta and give her a better life. If Tilda didn't love Beta, I don't think she would have created the Data channel to at least give Beta something to do and risk her loyalty, trust and even life to Gerard just to give Beta something more than the 4 walls she was locked away in. And I think Beta may have become attached to Tilda more than Tilda wanted. Her heart was still with Lis. And Beta was just a child or teen. Not yet the mature woman Tilda fell in love with many years ago. It had to be difficult and I love to put myself in Tilda's shoes for it. Imagining the strength and mental struggle Tilda went through to keep herself alive but also try so hard not to let her own madness and emotions take over. That grief and pain of her past was a lot to carry. If I was Tilda... I think I would have found fighting Aloy a bit of a release from all that. Like if she wins, she gets to save Aloy from a fate close to Elizabet's; but if she loses, she dies trying with no regrets this time and by the hand of her lover's exceptional clone. Who is worthy of being an Elizabet v2 in Tilda's eyes.

And as for Beta, I think if Tilda was allowed to open her heart more to the young red head, she would have. But she states that Gerard and Erik prevented her from giving Beta a better life. Never even allowing the them to talk to each other. So the ex spy chose to play double agent, hid her emotions, her connection to Beta and kept her appearance up to stay alive.

I wanted to (re)post my AP Studio Art portfolio- I'll start with this one because it focuses on my OCs! (more under the cut)

My portfolio concentration was illustrating songs! "Summerland" by half alive inspired this one. I was going for an energetic and colorful vibe inspired by going to county fairs as a kid.

From the left to right is Summer, Connie, and Wyatt! They're from this horror comic I've been working on for... a few years now? A while. I call it Feathers & Fur, and its about this trio finding a baby cryptid/monster in the woods. I've put a lot of work into their story and dynamic and AHHHH I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!! This is a plea for ya'll to ask me about them. They get into a lot of shenanigans (and experience The Horrors). This really misrepresents their story lmao, it's tragic.

Summer is super energetic and loud, the leader of the group. Connie is chill and quiet, the voice of reason. Wyatt balances them out and is pretty sarcastic but also a good listener (and the true mvp).

Anyway I hope yall enjoyed this and I'm down to answer any questions about my AP work or my characters!
