Midnight Cravings

so, i actually wrote most of this in july but never finished it and decided to fix it up for todays prompt bc i was feeling a lil lazy lol. and i think its one of my faves, especially the ending.

It was just past two in the morning and Aelin was wide awake. Not due to a mountain of paperwork, or a nightmare or one of her kids needing her. Aelin was wide awake because she was absolutely starving.

The type of starving it felt like she'd never eaten a day in her life. Like her stomach was going to eat itself.

Her stomach growled again, louder than before, and beside her, his voice muffled, Rowan asked, “Is that your stomach or the wind outside?”

“Shut up,” Aelin mumbled, as her stomach continued its song. Gods, why was she so hungry? She practically devoured the fruits in the fruit bowl just before bed, she had a healthy serving of dinner, and a large slice of chocolate torte for dessert.

But here she was, close to eating her damned pillow to sate her starvation.

Aelin glanced over towards her mate, his back to her, and she shuffled closer, resting her chin on his shoulder.

“Rowan,” she started to say, but Rowan cut her off.

“I'm not going to the kitchens.”

She pouted, although he couldn't see her. “Please?” she knew that if she used her manners, then he would do just about anything.

But it didn't work. Not just yet. “There's some fruit in the bowl.”

“I ate them all.” He sighed heavily, knowing that he was losing this conversation. “Please? I am your mate, your wife, the mother of your children.”

Rowan snorted. “Really? I was starting to suspect that the three silver-haired children were Lorcan's.”

Her hunger nearly disappeared at the thought of that. “Don't be gross.” Reaching over, Aelin kissed the tip of his ear, smiling as he shuddered in pleasure as she nibbled on it. “Please?”

Rowan sighed heavily, knowing that he lost, and Aelin barely hid her smile. “I'll go,” he said. “But only if you join me.”

Her smile did disappear at that. “But the bed is so warm.”

“Exactly. If I have to leave it, so do you.”

“Fine,” she mumbled reluctantly, but quickly perked up, realising that she would be getting food. Rowan was a much better cook than her. Aelin used to have basic cooking skills, but with being Queen and then becoming a mother, she never cooked anymore and really had no need to; not with multiple cooks under the palace roof. She did try a few years ago as a treat for her family, but everything turned into a crisp and wasn't even suitable for the dogs in the kennels.

Scrambling out of bed, the Queen and King of Terrasen tied on their robes and put on their slippers. Aelin loved the sight of Rowan looking so domestic, it was ridiculous how much she loved it.

Since Isolde was only six months old and far too young to be left behind, Rowan put her in the wooden carrier to take with them into the kitchens, their movements silent as the grave as they transferred their youngest from her crib and into the crafty carrier—Isolde was the only one of their children that slept soundlessly through the night at such a young age, and loathed to be woken up. As Rowan did that, Aelin checked in on Alder in his room, their son a little over three years old, but he slept like a log and Aelin knew that he wouldn't wake up at any point when they were gone.

As they left their chambers, Aelin nearly ruined all their good work and almost woke up their other children when she bit out a curse at the sudden leg cramp that shot up her right calf. Rowan glanced at her, asking if she was okay, and after a moment she was, although she was left a little dazed at the suddenness of it all.

Aelin's legs had been cramping randomly of late, but she didn't notice anything of concern. If it continued, she would go to Magnolia and see if anything could be done about it. The last thing Aelin needed was to fall ill, she had far too many things to do with winter arriving in a few weeks. She did know that if anything was wrong with her, that she could rely on Rowan completely.

Aelin's stomach growled for the umpteenth time, the sound lasting for a good minute before it settled. Isolde fidgeted in her sleep, but did not wake.

“I think your stomach was just trying to talk to me.”

“It was,” Aelin agreed. “It said that we need to hurry the hell up or it's going to disintegrate.”

“We better do as it says then. It'd be cruel to subject Terrasen to a hungry Queen. No one should suffer as I do when you're starving.”

“You make me sound horrible.”

“You are,” he said, humour dancing in his dark eyes. “And not just when you're hungry.”

Aelin mumbled under her breath. Rowan decided to pretend not to hear her, even as he fought a smile.

After what felt like an eternity, they reached the kitchens, Rowan placing Isolde onto the counter closest to them. Aelin rushed towards the bowls of fruit, grabbing an apple and a pear, eating the fruits simultaneously. She missed the small, private smile Rowan gave her as he went to the pantry, asking her what she was in the mood for, one eye on their child. But still, she slept and Rowan for a moment, wished that all of their children had been like that, but knew that there was no point in complaining when they all slept quietly now.

“Something filling,” was all Aelin could think of to say. But after a moment decided on an omelette, filled with bacon, mushrooms, onion, red bell-peppers and carrot. As she and Rowan prepped the ingredients—with Rowan wanting his own omelette—Aelin contemplated in silence, her brows furrowed as she chopped up the carrots.

“What are you thinking about, Fireheart?” Rowan asked when he noticed his wife's expression.

“Just trying to remember the last time I was this hungry. I've been like this for at least a week and a half.”

“I've noticed. You haven't had this big of an appetite for a good number of years.”

She didn't comment on that, lost in her own world. “And my legs have been cramping lately too. I haven't injured myself. Have I been sleeping in strange positions?”

“No, you're sleeping just fine.”

Her frown deepened. “Maybe I'm just stressed for the winter preparations.”

“Possibly, I know that you worry a lot for the people during winter.” They both did, as the winters in Terrasen were brutal. Each year there was always a small number of people that passed due to the cold for a number of reasons. When those lists made their way in Aelin's hands, it always hit her hard, her guilt a palpable thing, even after Rowan would tell her that it was in no way her fault.

But that wasn't the reasons for her consuming hunger and leg cramps—Rowan had noticed the change in her scent weeks ago and when he noticed, he thought that Aelin would too. But she was completely oblivious and he didn't want to spoil the surprise, although it was getting harder each day not to say something.

However, he couldn't help but count back the weeks to the day of conception. He was fairly certain that it was when Aelin had been reading a particularly steamy novel on the window seat in their sitting room and jumped on him like they had never had sex before when he had come to ask if she was joining him in bed.

It would fit in with list of unusual places they have conceived their children. Elentiya had been in the library (either in the archives or in Aelin and Rowan's private nook, neither were sure), Norrin against an oak tree (which they discovered after they have calmed down that the Little Folk had watched the entire encounter, with Aelin becoming stuck between wanting to laugh or hide under a rock), Alder against one of the many palace chimneys, and Isolde in a linen closet.

Maybe one day they would conceive a child in their bed like most people did.

They got to cooking, with Rowan standing behind Aelin and guiding her with the wooden spoon and plating their midnight meal before it burned into a crisp. Isolde babbled in her sleep as the sounds of cooking reached her, but still slept. It wouldn't be long, however, until she woke up to be fed. Aelin placed their youngest by her feet as they sat down at the small dining table in the far corner of the kitchen where the workers took their breaks.

The smile on Aelin's face as she bit into the fluffy omelette was certainly worth being woken up in the middle of the night.

However, her fork stilled in mid-air when she was halfway done when realisation dawned on her.

Finally.

“I'm pregnant,” was all she said, her Ashryver eyes growing wide. Rowan didn't bother to hide his smile. This was why he didn't say anything. It was always worth it when she revealed those beautiful words to him. “Rowan, I'm pregnant. The last time I was this hungry was when I was pregnant with Alder and the leg cramps are from Norrin's pregnancy. And all the fruit I can't stop eating is just like when I was pregnant with Isolde. How haven't I noticed anything?”

“You've been busy,” Rowan said, reaching over to take her hands in his and kissed her fingers.

“You knew, didn't you?” Aelin asked, her eyes narrowed just slightly.

“I may have noticed.”

“You should have told me.”

“I like it better when you come to the realisation yourself,” he said simply.

Aelin shot out of her seat and sat on his lap, a pretty smile gracing her face as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders, her fingers playing the the hair at the nape of his neck. Rowan wound his arms around her waist and kissed her on the cheeks, the tips of her nose, the corner of her lips and then her mouth.

Aelin hummed contentedly and kissed him back. When they broke apart, she rested her forehead against his.

“We're insane.”

Rowan laughed deeply at the sudden statement. “What makes you say that?”

“We're having a fifth baby. Lorcan and Elide only have three and I always thought that they'd have at least a dozen, but they don't and we're about to have five. That's insane. We're insane.”

“We are, but I like that about us,” he said, kissing her again. Her face was open and soft, her eyes dancing with happiness, but he still found himself asking, “Are you okay with it?”

“Of course I am, buzzard. More than words can say.” Aelin kissed him to emphasise that fact, his hand reaching down onto her belly and was content to stay like that forever. She couldn’t believe how lucky she was. She always thought that she’d just have one child, maybe two, but to have five was something she never dreamed of.

Isolde finally decided to wake up and scream her displeasure at being hungry. Aelin was off him in an instant, cooing at their daughter as Aelin sat back in her seat and fed not just herself, but Isolde at the same time. His mate was spectacular at multitasking like that.

They couldn't wait to meet their fifth child.

Rowan was surprised that his children hadn't kicked down the doors to the bedchamber with how excited they were. Even little Isolde was a ball of energy and she was by far their most quiet child. Rowan lead them to their mother, reminding them that they had to be quiet and gentle, because mama had just gone through a long process of bringing in their new sibling into the world.

They entered the bedchamber and Aelin greeted them with a tired but loving smile telling them to come meet their new sister, the kids went onto the bed, surrounding Aelin and the baby, happiness and wonderment in their eyes as they took in the little bundle of joy, her silver hair stark against her lightly tanned skin. She had opened her eyes briefly during her first feeding and Aelin had groaned playfully when she spotted that they were pine-green, muttering how of course I labour for a whole day to give birth to another you. But he knew that she didn't care if she was born with green hair and yellow eyes, Aelin loved her immensely.

“What's her name, mama?” Elentiya asked softly, carefully trailing a finger down her sisters cheek.

“Elowynn-Yrene.” Rowan would never forget the pure joy in Yrene's eyes when Aelin asked if the healer would give them her blessing to grace their child with her name, as a thank you for all the years of coming down and helping Aelin, for eradicating Erawan, and for being a great friend to both of them. It had taken them a few minutes to convince their friend, citing that the honour was far too much, but Yrene eventually said "yes".

“That's pretty,” Alder supplied, a wide smile on his face. Aelin kissed his temple and thanked him for his kind words.

Aelin moved her eyes from Alder to Rowan, smiling as her mate stood there, taking them in.

His family, their family. Never did he think he would be so blessed to have this.

His and Aelin's children; the most beautiful thing Rowan had ever seen.

Rowan went and joined his family on the bed, the smile on his face one of Aelin's favourites.

Tips for Arguing with Porn Users

I’ve been at it for about 25 years, and here are a few things I’ve learned:

You’re not typically dealing with a debate team president. 95% of the time, when you scratch the surface of their argument for a second you’ll get some version of “Yeah, but I like porn.” It’s pretty rare to find a porn user who has a more sophisticated argument than just really enjoying porn. That’s why all your stats and stories and studies probably won’t work until they can get past their own self-interest.

One reason they often sound like assholes with no empathy for women is because porn use destroys empathy. My boys Zillmann and Bryant demonstrated that 6 hours of porn resulted in a noticeable drop of empathy for rape victims in one mid-80s study, and the dude you’re sparring with has watched way more than six hours by now.  So appeals to their humanity and basic decency may never work - they’ve already been trained not to see us as humans.

Cognitive dissonance is a protective reflex. They want to keep believing they’re a good person, and your facts and lived experiences are getting in the way of that, so therefore you must be wrong. It’s very similar to Trump calling any fact he doesn’t like fake news. Ask them if they treat climate change, medical advice, or weather reports with the same reasoning they apply to porn.

Don’t get emotionally hooked. When they use graphic descriptions of their fave porn videos in an argument, they’re doing this to upset you because they’ve pegged you as a nun or something. If you get upset, they probably get a dopamine rush, so master the art of the deadpan reply.  When teenagers message me to say “I love porn!” I just respond, “Truly, you are a rebel.”

Don’t use their terms. Say prostituted women instead of sex worker, say porn performer instead of porn star, say rape instead of noncon, say child abuse videos instead of kiddie porn. Stay on your playing field despite their attempts to lure you on theirs.

Don’t claim to have information that doesn’t exist. I’ve seen people on tumblr say “90% of porn stars were coerced” or “Most women in porn are there by choice” when there is in fact no such study in existence. The workers who make up the porn industry have never been studied by researchers in any systematic way, probably because nobody wants to talk until they’ve left the business.  This is a blessing and curse for both sides of the argument.  All we’ve got are anecdotes and stories, which means that when someone tells you her cousin loves her job at the Hustler Club, you can tell her that you know 2 ex-strippers who were raped by customers, and therefore you win the argument.

Know when to quit. You don’t have to attend every argument you’re invited to. I don’t engage with people who: argue in GIFs, call me names, assume weird things about me, use terms like strawman and logical fallacy, or anyone young enough to be my kid.  I’m not going to convince everyone, and I’m okay with that.

The only instance where I had to do that was with Girt. Tall motherfucker. Have you ever been tackle-hugged? Yes. Those are the best. Have you ever rejected someone’s kiss before? Girt once tried to make out with me and I noped the fuck outta that situation. It was so fucking awkward. Is your mood or the overall tone of your day often affected by the dreams you had the night before? My nightmares definitely can. Do you think that there are any positive aspects or outcomes of suffering from a mental illness? If you have a mental illness, do you think it has changed you for the better in any way? I definitely believe my mental illnesses forced me to mature faster and also instilled a great sense of empathy in me. And don't forget emotional endurance. What is your opinion on celebrity culture and celebrity worship? Have you ever been guilty of putting a celebrity on a pedestal? Do you think it’s somehow more acceptable/understandable to obsess over certain types of celebrities (musicians over YouTubers, say) than others? At what point do you think an obsession like that crosses the line? It's dangerous and can be very blinding. An outsider could say I put Mark on a pedestal, but I've always been very aware that he's not perfect and really just another human, I just happen to love him a lot for the human he is, haha. As time's passed, my vision of him has become healthier though (not to say it ever reached the "unhealthy" threshold); it's gotten easier for me to judge him and stuff like that. I think an obsession crosses the line when you put on rose-tinted glasses to look upon someone and entirely ignore their flaws, or if you try to invade their personal lives, ex. being one of those creeps that loiter outside their houses and stuff. If you were to pursue a career in photography and had the opportunity and means to photograph whatever you wanted, what would most like to photograph? Ah, livin' the dream. If I had to choice and would be paid well regardless of focus, I would absolutely travel and photograph the local nature/wildlife. Is there a certain type of clothing (outerwear, activewear, loungewear, etc.) that you enjoy shopping for more than others? Shirts, 100%. Are you ever afraid to post your ideas, artwork, photography, etc. online for fear that they will get stolen or not credited? When it comes to OCs, yes, given that things have been stolen from me before. Photography doesn't worry me much because I don't think I'm good enough for someone to possibly want to steal it (and besides, I use a watermark), and I do the same for drawings. It's the unique characters I make I worry about being stolen if I share them. When is the last time you did something sexual? A few years back. Who is the last person you showered with, if anyone? I haven't showered with someone since I was a little kid and my younger sister and I would to conserve water. What do you think when you see roadkill on the side of the road? It really makes me genuinely sad, and I always wonder if it could have been avoided if the driver was more alert, slower, and thinking about more than the damage it could cause to their car... I enjoy photographing roadkill, brutal as it may be, out of respect for them and the desire to make their individual stories known and just kind of like, raise awareness of it. Too many people are just annoyed by hitting an animal versus more concerned. "Stupid deer," stuff like that. I sometimes worry that doing so can be interpreted as disrespect, to photograph and publish pictures of their corpses online, but I sure hope not. It's the least of my intentions. I just want people to see and care. Have you ever had an ex that just didn’t understand that it was over? Biiiitch I was that ex, 120%. But besides my situation with Jason, this was how Tyler was. I had to tell him about five thousand times to stop texting me. Are your fingernails currently short or long? They're always pretty short. Would you rather have big or small dogs? I like medium-sized dogs most. I'd have to pick large dogs between the two, though. What is your favorite sports drink? I'm not a fan of sports drinks. What was the last compliment you gave a guy? Yesterday, a guy in PHP shared two poems he wrote while hospitalized, and they were wonderful, so full of passion and emotion. I sure as hell told him they were amazing. He's going for his Master's for poetry, so he knows what he's doing for real. Does your jaw ever crack, pop, or lock? It's popped on very, very few occasions. Have you ever thought of how you would give your kids “the talk”? I don't want kids, so no, I've never thought of this. I certainly wouldn't wait for sex ed in school, though. I feel like it's a bit late. I feel children need to know what it's about at a younger age with how disgusting some people are... I want them to be informed on what consent and molestation are so they know to let Mama know so I can punch someone's face into a whole new galaxy if they're ever violated. Do you ever feel like you’re missing out on something? Oh, always. Do you ever write/draw on windows that are fogged up? I did as a kid, sure. Not so much now. If you were married, and your spouse’s parents became ill, would you let them move into your home? If they were truly sick enough to need assistance but not actual hospitalization, yes. I'd want my spouse to do the same for me. Have you screamed in a pillow before? Yyyyep. What do you like more, acoustic or electric? Electric. Did you actually have a cookie jar? We have a Santa one, though I don't even know if we ever used it versus just having it as a decoration. What’s worse, having someone mad or disappointed in you? Disappointed. What do you bite on more, your tongue, lip, or nails? Bottom lip. Do you think that knowing when and how you’re going to die would ruin your life? "Ruin" it seems a bit extreme, but I definitely wouldn't like it. Do you have a favorite bromance? From TV or a movie. Not really, if we're only talking those two options. Do you find flea markets and thrift stores enjoyable? Yeah, you really can find the coolest shit for great prices. What color is your wallet? Mostly red and white; it's a Harley Quinn design. Have you ever been somebody's photography subject? No. Nicki Minaj fan? I believe she's a very talented rapper, but I don't enjoy her actual music. I just don't like rap. Those have been very disappointing news to read and a scary reality to be reminded of, the harm they brought to woman is something that hits particularly close to me, so all I've been wishing for is for the guilty to be identified to receive the punishment they deserve and for none of the victims to be named/put on the spot, unless it is their choice to speak publicly about it. Hopefully, law enforcement won't be a disappointment this time.

Overall, I would give this movie 7/10 because of the message. Plot is nicely done and I got see basically every single rom-com tropes. At total, I counted 23 tropes I guess? If I could look every minor detail, I would count more but I won’t get into it that much for now. (i’m running late to a meeting with friends so i have to cut short)

I loved the production design, setting felt like I’m in a classic rom-com movie and characters were written accordingly. Every actor in the movie has fit perfect to me. I especially loved Priyanka and Liam because 1) I’ve never seen any of her movies and 2) It’s been a long time since I watched a Liam Hemsworth movie (i only watched hunger games, so you think about it lmao)

I guess that’s about it! I have a list for the next weeks’ movies but if you have a request then tell me so, I will watch your recommendations first! I appreciate comments; if you have something to add, please do. I will read every single one of them.

Places to Shoot in Bangkok Part 10: Hit the Parks! (Lumphini)

Ok, so here is a post this month that I have been meaning to get done for ages due to lots of questions from readers about the greener side of Bangkok. So, this one is all about Bangkok’s rare green oasis spots, the antidote to anybody feeling overdosed on the asphalt jungle.

There are several large and very well known parks within the Bangkok city limits, there are also some larger ones that are very famous and treasured by Bangkokians but which are slightly out of the city (the beautiful Phuttamonton park at Salaya being a good example) but for the purposes of this month’s entry I will keep it simple and give some advice regarding the easiest ones to get to by BTS skytrain so that people here on holiday reading this can have an easy time of it too.

The best known are probably the Railway Park AKA ‘Suan Rotfai’, Queen Sirikit Park which borders onto the railway park and Suan Lumphini. The BTS stations for these would be ‘Chatuchak’ for the first two and either ‘Ratchadamri’ or ‘Sala Daeng’ for the latter. I think that the Railway Park might be one of my all time faves but today I will look at Lumphini Park in detail. To be fair though, some of the tips and advice below is applicable to the others.

Lumphini is quite large for a piece of land located in such a downtown part of Bangkok but it’s not overly huge. I’d guess around 150 acres or so. There is a regular flow of joggers and cyclists orbiting around it in daylight and the total track distance is about 2.5 kilometres per loop, if that helps give you some idea. It’s nice to not go when it’s too hot in the early afternoon but there is a lot of shaded tree cover in places to help with that a little. The best times for photographers to visit there are very early morning and just before sunset OR any time during a consistently cloudy and overcast grey day ...although hopefully not actually as it is raining. Unlike the other parks in Bangkok, the joggers and cyclists generally (but not always) seem to orbit the same way and follow the rules. Be aware of the yellow lined track if you are standing with your eye buried into your camera as you could inadvertently turn around into a cyclist going at a rate of knots! Also be advised that some very healthy, large examples of Thailand’s famous water monitor lizards live and thrive in the waters all over this park and although sometimes you won’t see a single one, other times you might see several and quite close to you as well. It’s nice to be prepared with this information as if you are not expecting to see such a beast and then happen to stumble on one unexpectedly, it can be quite the shock (they are the size of an alligator or even longer in some cases and just as ugly and fierce looking). They generally won’t harass humans but give them their space!

This park has more than its fair share of expats as well as locals due to such a location being really hard to find in downtown Bangkok. It’s prized by a lot of hardcore fitness types as well as leisurely strollers. Very early morning visits can lead to you discovering huge groups of elderly Thai Chinese people doing Tai Chi with great synchronicity and people making religious offerings at little shrines and spots around the park.

There is a very low tech but incredibly cheap outdoor weightlifting and bodybuilding place or two hidden around the park that you’ll no doubt stumble over. It’s like something out of a prison yard but has been going for decades and decades (it has moved spot a few times though as I recall). Lots of guys doing dips and chin ups and the like. There is a nice lake in the middle and lots of connected waterways with pedal boats for hire, attracting tourists and locals having fun, making for good people shots.  Refreshments are sold around the outside of the park with some good street food and drinks near some of the main entrances in and out.

Some safety tips and local knowledge that you won’t easily find in all the usual trite guide books:

Although it’s good to come very early for the morning golden hour, be advised that during the night it is not a safe place and full of mentally disturbed people, homeless tramps, drunks and hardcore drug addict types. Be warned that some of them will still be hanging around and maybe only just coming down (or even still high) so don’t be walking around there THAT early. The official opening time is around 4:30am till about 9pm but wait until the sun is up or you might find yourself in the middle of a Michael Jackson video from the 80’s. There are also lots of sex workers in the park at night, often the kinds that can’t or won’t work in the ‘usual’ places for them in Thailand and often for dubious reasons. Don’t get robbed for your camera or wallet.

Another top local tip that catches a lot of people out: If you wanna picnic with your partner under a tree and read a book whilst making some shots and enjoying the day, great. BUT if you are a man alone in Lumphini park on a picnic blanket under a tree in the shade reading a book (especially on a weekend or holiday) then this is locally the equivalent of putting up a huge neon sign that reads “I am looking for a casual sexual hookup with another male’ and you will very likely be approached by people who might misunderstand your intentions. It’s ‘the spot’ apparently and if that is what you want of course, then hey...that’s also cool but I just thought that as one of my readers, you ought to know as I have never seen this written in a guidebook anywhere yet locals and especially long term expats often are aware of it..

Lumphini Park, or often just ‘Suan Lum’ as it’s known to the locals, has been a public park in Bangkok since just after the first world war so we are talking about getting on for nearly a hundred years. The whole of the city has been built around it in the area and so it’s a nice juxtaposition of proper, long standing tropical park and huge metropolis all around. It’s named after a loose transliteration of the reputed birthplace of Buddha himself (although that wasn’t in Thailand of course). There are outdoor music concerts in the cooler months of the year, some of them are quite large and well executed affairs with full orchestras and the like, jazz concerts being another common one.

It’s a great Bangkok park for people watching and photos, enjoy it. This post was a change from the old 6 x 6 Rolleiflex work that has been dominating the blog for the past year and was actually all shot on 35mm Tri X with a Leica M2, a goggled Summaron 35mm and 50mm Summicron (rigid) lenses.

Where to go in Accra

Will I go back ? 🤒 Where will I be trying in 2017? Stay tuned So in 2016, I covered a lot of places I think. lol I’m not gonna lie but some of the most popular places, I haven’t even tried. Mostly because I haven’t thought about trying them Here goes my list:

Cafe Kwae: I tried it with two friends . At about 11am, so I didn’t like that they weren’t serving cocktails atleast but the guy was kind enough to make an exception. The ambiance at cafe kwae is dope. I love the look . Very cafe like lol. Had chickpea sauce and rice. It was very nice and one of my friends had their burgers. The disadvantage is the portions especially for the little burgers. You notice how tiny they are because of how divine they are. I’ll be going to cafe kwae again regardless since I saw their healthy eating menu . ❤️

Zenos Yogurt: It’s a little stand at AnC, as someone who doesn’t eat ice cream. Haven’t that yogurt for my taste buds is much appreciated. Thanks to my ex for putting me on. You got something right lmao

Bourbon cafe: As a tea person. I love to have it on the go. Bourbon was kind enough to serve me some delicious tea with their cheesecake. It’s not as sweet as the ones in the western world which is one reason I love it but it also has the right amount of cheese. A disadvantage is the price for a slice. It’s about 18.00 Ghana cedis per slice but I’ll still buy it 😩. Another dislike is the fact that I tried their fresh orange juice cause I can’t drink those boxed juices and it was more ice than juice. 😕. In all that I love their cafe, very cute with a painting that just catches your eye and it’s always buzzing with people. Also a place to catch up on some work or just chill.

Tea Baa: I think my love for tea baa is evident. I may or may not be a little bias🙃. I love tea baa for their art and how rustic it looks. If I can add pictures to this post stay tuned. It’s beautiful and it’s such a cool place to hang out, play some games and chill with your squaaaaa lol. The big disadvantage to me is how small it is. It’s just a chill spot that everyone goes there and then it gets too crowded and people have to leave. Another one is I wish they had a menu. I legit feel like we always have to stretch our necks to see the board that is always blocked by something in the way. Nevertheless, give me a bunch of vanilla tea and they’re forgiven. It’s a fave. My new friend put me on it. I had mine without alcohol but he had his with alcohol. Their food isn’t bad either. I tried their couscous and lamb at one point and tried the couscous and pork at another. I’ll say lamb won this round. My boyfriend had fried rice and lamb and I tried it. It was good too. Tea Baa is the spot for catching up with old friends. I met way too many lmao. Not to talk about the prices so reasonable . I have gone back so many times because our waitress left an impression. What a beautiful soul.

Sandbox: I was hyped to try sandbox but lately sandbox is the last place I’ll visit. First off I still don’t understand why they have no menu as they are a full blown space to hang out. Don’t get me wrong I love the vibe of sitting there and hanging out looking out at the waves and Making plans with bae lol but they need a menu. Trying to remember what they have by their waiters and waitresses is always funny like they can barely remember. I love their Long Island which I tried. My boyfriends sex on the beach wasn’t anything special though lol. He hated it. The yam fries is definitely their thing . They better not change anything for my sake . I also love the look. They have you feeling like you’re in knock off Miami. I kid. Another hide out especially on weekdays during the day time..it’s quiet .

Le Must restaurant : Can I say whoever did the interior for Le Must is definitely killing it. First off I love the look clearly lmao. It’s a vibe. Lol. Now the food I find the portions could have been better. I tried this place with my friend (Manda Panda) lol . We order a family meal cause we wanted the variety. This was a family for three meal but we were starving so we were all for more food. The food got, we had to call our waiter to ask if this was for three cause three people will not be full. We had to advice him to tell them to increase the portions cause chale Money isn’t easy to come by but change has come. We also tried these blue drinks, they were so good. 😋😋. All in all I’ll be going to Le Must again. It’s at Accra mall if you’re asking.

Papa’s Pizza: Best Pizza made in Ghana to me. I tried this at 11pm randomly . I don’t have much to say but it’s amazing to me. Good job guys

AM&PM: I was lured there by that bicycle art lol but I tried their brunch. It wasn’t bad but there’s no hype . I won’t particularly want to go back. I will try PM though maybe it’s better. I had some egg stuff and my boyfriend had the English breakfast. Honestly, pricey and okay. I’ve had better. Plus rude waiter who didn’t appreciate our tip 🙄.

Burger and Relish: My sister and I tried it. We still think it’s okay. I love the artsy vibe at the location in osu. Aside from that, they alright.

Honeysuckle: I ate here twice and they still tasted so good. Went with my boyfriend and I had yam fries and tilapia whiles he had yam fries and chicken . I loved my food but his chicken was the talk of our table. It was AH MAZ ING! Oh so good ! The second time , I tried it with my sibs, and the taste was still so good. I tried my yam fries with wings this time and It was great. Loved it. The only thing I hated was their waiting time. Almost an hour fam. A whole hour. I suggest calling before you get there. Ohhh tried their drinks too a whole bunch of sugar in mine but my boyfriend has this lemonade cause he wanted the sourness and it was amazing. They really gave him sour. Lol

Vida e Caffe: My to go go to place. I usually get salads and a tea from them whenever I’m passing by. My brother put me on. Let’s just say I’ll be going back everyday lol.

Sai: It’s a wine and champagne place and they have the vibe going for them. I want to post the pictures of how cute their place is. Aside from that, I’ve tried it twice. I went with my Manda Panda and it was okay. She tried the salad but I wasn’t really hungry so I had wine and some calamari. The prices are amazing. However we we were stalked by ants 😭..our table was breeding ants. I was slightly worried but the owner is so friendly it makes you forget about the bad. She was engaging . I went again for brunch with my boyfriend, stalked again by mosquitoes and a fly. I feel like it’s cause of the location but my boyfriend wasn’t bothered lol..he loved it. There was also the problem of we don’t have it at the moment . Please if it’s on the menu can it be available or let us know before we choose it that it’s not available? My boyfriend changed his order twice cause it wasn’t available. I will be going back though, good food and vibes. Super friendly workers who were in all of our photos. They were the muses.

Koffee Lounge: I hadn’t tried Koffee Lounge but I had been in there 50000 and ten times. I was like I have to eat there. I’ve been in there too many times , it was starting to bother me. Lol. My boyfriend is always eating there and his order is assorted jollof. So when I tried it , I went for that to see why the attachment to it. Koffee Lounge is not pricey and a lot more food than I expected. So much food I tell you. I was so full. The food wasn’t exactly what I thought it’ll be because it’s always so packed but will I be going back? Hell yeah. I see the addiction.

Wafflemania : Went to wafflemania very early one morning. It was barely open but they cleared it up quickly to make sure my boyfriend and I were fine. Another plus, their wifi actually worked lol. I take that very seriously . I had their pancakes which was so yum and my boyfriend had their waffles with pork . It was even better . Such a small place producing great things . Lol , see you again.

Venus: Venus has been opened for years. As someone who is always last to go anywhere, I just tried them. Great drinking spot and chilling spot for pre drinking. Unfortunately tried their wings and it tasted like it came out a pot of stew. I will be going back there for the drinks but no more wings. Lol , it’s in Osu btw.

Jamrock: It’s this little Jamaican place. The vibe is cool and it’s never crazy packed. I love it. The food is also great. I tell you it’s almost like they hired a bunch of Jamaicans to cook. I had oxtail with the rice and beans. I also had some sweet potatoes as it was a craving. I will go back there. I keep saying it but I haven’t done it yet.

Yah: I think that’s what it’s called. I wanted to try something different when zenos was around the corner. It was so bad. My sisters review : it tastes like nido. Doesn’t seem like we will be returning.

Labadi beach: I’ve been to the hotel but I haven’t gone to the other side. My boyfriend wanted to go to the beach so I was like why not. It’s actually a cooler place if you ask me. There’s more to do in my opinion. Then I tried their food. It was yam with grilled chicken. The food was alright , too much of the salad cream and mayo stuff but that chicken was A1. The other disadvantage was the obsession over what colour chair you’re sitting on and what restaurant it is for . My boyfriend had a fit lol. Some chairs are cuter though.
