LK Chen – Tizona – 17th Century Spanish cup-hilt rapier

“Tizona”  is a recreation of a beautiful 17th century Spanish Cup-Hilt rapier, inspired by specimens in the fine collection of Spanish Renaissance Rapier in New York Metropolitan Museum of Arts and other collections. Named after one of the famous sword carried by Spanish national hero El Cid Campeador, Tizona is an agile and light rapier optimized for thrusting. The sword is quite responsive in the hand and easy to point and thrust. This is another exacting recreation that LK Chen has taken on, with valuable input from experts in the details of its floral pattern cup hilt decoration and construction such as the braiding of the elaborate “Turkish  head” wire knots in the hilt.

The well-tempered blade is crafted from GB 60Si2MnA high carbon steel and it is mounted into a complex and finely decorated hilt of stainless steel. The grip is bound in stainless steel wire which is surmounted by braided “Turkish head” knots. The sword is matched with a wooden scabbard which is overlaid in black leather and completed with a locket and chape of stainless steel.

So, I actually finished(?) a drawing that I made for a fellow sea creature of mine, @disvain!

"I don't know who you are, but I highly suggest that you'd stay out of my way... Before you leave this encounter with your head off your shoulders."

Is that something he'd say? I sorta just took a shot in the dark at what his personality was like. Sorta got the vibe he'd sound like Hit from DBS. Call it a headcanon if you will.

This is the first piece of fanart I've done for anyone(Excluding Pokemon because obviously). At least, the first fanart I remember.

Also, Disvain... You'd mind if I started drawing some of your other characters? I can't give a set time of when I'd start any of them, but they all have so much flare that I could work with. Especially Hiroko. I love Hiroko.

Uh... Yeah. Loved the drawing. I loved the process(Except the hair. I couldn't get that right for the life of me). I love Disvain's design. And I'm looking forward to doing more of these at some point.

Happy Easter everybody, meet the BilRose and Broppy fankids (the eggs from the last post). My Trollsona, Queen Rose and Billy Reverb have eighteen babies while Branch and Queen Poppy have 1267 but these seven babies are the ones I made since there are lots of Broppy fankids.

Queen Rose’s son, Prince Sterling is the eldest child and the future king while the second child is Princess Eve. Then, there’s Prince Marble, the twins Prince Tyrfing and Princess Tizona (they’re named after legendary swords), Princess Peach, the septuplets, Prince Riven, Prince Reagan, Princess Rue, Prince Rowan, Prince River, Princess Rachel and Princess Regina, Prince Argent, Princess Clover, Prince Flamelet, Princess Syndra, and Princess Dulce.

Here’s the names I thought of for these Broppy babies, the first is Prince Poplar, then came Prince Layke, Princess Azalea, Prince Sprout, Princess Grape, Princess Bloom, and Prince Wave.
