HELLO, may I ask 9, 12 and 22 for the ask game?
Picking all the hater questions, are we? LOL I'll bite, sure. Under the cut.
Which character had the worst use?
Eto. No bias, of course. Why did she get cut out of the story like that. That's so stupid. She's like, the second strongest character in the series and arguably the most important one (pot stirrer that she is; I doubt Arima would have become the OEK without her in the picture). And yet her fate is left a complete mystery for over 80 chapters. Like, we barely got to know her, and just as things got good, she just... dies.
The other character that gets overlooked is Amon. Apparently when Kaneki's character goes down the shitter, his parallel does too. It's unbelievable how he doesn't show up until like chapter 90 of re. So stupid and a waste. He was literally given the pieces to do something about the CCG with Sphinx and stuff and just nothing came out of that. He didn't even join Goat. What a waste.
And which changed for the worse?
Mutsuki. The latter half of re, to me, should have been about subverting tragedy, and after Kanae, one of Mutsuki's parallels, met a grisly end, I would think we'd have Mutsuki be treated better. This was also around the time when "Tokyo Ghoul makes another crazy character" was starting to get stale (we got Takizawa, Shikorae, Kaneki, Eto, etc etc) and samey. It wants to both be tragic and subvert tragic at the same time and the fact that it couldn't choose up until the literal ending will always irk me.
What's your opinion about the final?
It's alright. Not much else to say about it. I like Ichika; she's cute. Didn't like how it treated certain characters (Eto, Akira, and Amon being some of the bigger offenders) while characters like Goumasa Tokage got both text and half a page to themselves. I'm glad Kaneki's dick works I guess.
---
Thanks for the ask!

ENDLESS PIT (Chapter 1 of 16)
Pairing: Touken/Kanetou
Ratings: Mature content/NSFW
Genre: Crime, Romance, Mystery
Synopsis: While attempting to apprehend Tokyo’s most dangerous criminal, FBI agent Kaneki Ken keeps running into a certain short-haired enticing woman in sites linked to the case. Human AU.
You can read it on AO3 and FF.net.
(Soooo, I decided to make Touka’s hair black and not the iconic lilac/purple in the anime or whatsoever since it was originally meant to be black (based on the TG:re omake and the OG, and other Ishida’s art. You could just imagine the manga thicc Touka). Welp, whatever suits your taste is fine but still on this story, her hair was black.)
Disclaimer:
This story is not affiliated with the original series of Tokyo Ghoul, and :re. Additionally, please be aware that this story contains serious, triggering and mature themes (mention of r**3, k1dn4pp1ng, k1lL1ng, vi0lenc3, etc.), and harsh language.
Furthermore, English language is not my native language, so this story might have typographical, grammatical errors, or whatsoever errors. If you find any mistakes, please let me know.

“Really? Do you really think....?”
“Of course, I do. That fool has been at it for who knows how long, and no one has thought to intervene.”
“You’d think Arima-san would have figured it out already. Then, I wonder why he’s not making any move.”
The man with dirty blonde hair and olive eyes huffs at his partner, bringing his glass to his lips to take a sip of the whiskey, wincing as it burns down his throat; he never understood why Kaneki liked it so much. His teammate pays for all of their drinks that night, though, so he decides not to complain.
The snow white-haired man was sitting beside him on the maroon circular couch. A center table in the middle. He’s tapping his fingers on his thighs and tracing the edge of his glass with a finger.
“It’s not easy when you want to arrest the most powerful criminal in the city, Kaneki, although he used to be our director’s superior.”
The other man shrugs and leans back in his seat to look directly at his partner. “I know, Hide. All I’m saying is that this case irritates me. We’ve been monitoring people around us for a month and haven’t discovered anything.”
Hide tilts his head, motioning for Kaneki to look at the man on the other end of the bar counter, far away from their table. “Well...”
Kaneki’s gaze shifts, landing on the target they were watching. An average looking man with his face notably disfigured and riddled with scars. He was leaning on the bar’s counter, his gaze fixed on a woman sitting one stool away from him. She clearly seems unimpressed, and keeps shifting away from him in discomfort, politely nodding to everything he seems to be talking about.
“Tokage Goumasa,” mumbles Kaneki. “He had tortured countless people. And one of his recent victims is Yamori, one of the gang leaders. However, despite his sadistic nature, I doubt he knows anything. He’s probably nothing but an irrelevant underling.”
His companion snorts while focusing his gaze on the target. “All I can say is that he doesn’t truly understand what the word no means.”
Kaneki nods. “He can’t even properly flirt. It’s pretty pathetic.” He chuckles, observing as the disheartened target watches the woman he was speaking with walk away from him.
Hide lifts a brow and focuses his gaze on the white-haired man. “What, like you can? You are too oblivious to know when a woman is hitting on you,” he taunts.
Kaneki rolls his eyes, emptying his glass in one sip and slamming it on the table with a thud. “I can get any lady I desire, but I choose not to.”
“Why? Afraid?” muses his partner, smirking at him in a way that makes him annoyed to no end.
Shaking his head, Kaneki leans his arm against the backrest, opening his mouth to retort but stopping himself when someone interrupts them.
“Would you like me to get you another drink, gentlemen?” an amused voice says.
Without shifting from their seats, the two glanced up to find a pretty big-chested bartender standing beside their seats, amused by their conversation.
Hide scans the lady with his scrutinizing eyes before grinning. “No thanks, we’re fine,” he replies, waving her off.
The woman chuckles, sits on the top of their table, and leans forward, revealing her cleavage. Her gaze drifts appreciatively over Kaneki’s features. They lingers for a moment on the stretch of his skin revealed by his dress shirt’s two undone buttons, before she licks her lips. Her gaze brushes over Hide and quickly goes back to Kaneki. The blond man almost felt insulted at being disregarded in that way.
“Oh, please. Don’t get rid of me so soon. I can make you something special in the back,” she smirks, biting her lower lip.
Emotionless, Kaneki’s eyes bore into her for a second before giving her an innocent and polite smile. “No, I’m good.” Aware that he shouldn’t consume excessive amounts of alcohol while working.
“Are you certain about that?” she asks, reaching for his arm as her fingers lightly trail down one protruding bicep. She grins sweetly, adding, “I can even bring you something to eat.”
Hide winces at the sly statement.
Kaneki keeps looking at her with a tight-lipped smile on his face. “I had planned to eat elsewhere with a friend here—” pointing to Hide, “- but I appreciate the offer.”
The woman is offended by his disinterest and hurriedly stands up, tugging her top farther up her chest, hiding part of the exposed skin. “Fine,” she hisses. Her gaze darts between them. “But I believe you, gentlemen, are in the wrong bar. The gay bar is on the other end of the street.”
Hide’s eyes grow absurdly large, and he moves as far away from Kaneki as his seat would let him. Kaneki’s face suddenly shifts from indifference to disgust as he scowls at the woman. She glares back while moving away from them, swaying her hips vengefully.
“Why is it that I always experience this?” Kaneki grumbles under his breath.
“Why not accept one woman’s flirtation for a change, then?”
“I won’t accept a strange woman’s invitation to have you-know in a random pub. I have more dignity than that,” hisses Kaneki. “Why don’t you do it?”
“Lower your voice,” replies Hide calmly. “You don’t want to draw attention to yourself, do you? We still have to keep an eye on him.” He angles his head in the direction of their target, who appeared to have picked another victim for the night.
Kaneki calms down. “This is pointless, Hide. He’s probably as knowledgeable about the case as he is about how to approach women.”
Hide nods in agreement, and they keep spying on him covertly, moving their eyes around the bar. They were placing bets on how many women would turn the sadistic man down before the night was through. When the subject was rejected by the eight woman that evening, an odd thing occurred; a woman with dark hair entered the club. She was wearing a tight, mid-thigh black dress with a side slit, her back was bare, and her cleavage showed off a large set of breasts; a mole could be seen on her right breast. She had short, bobbed hair that covered the right side of her face, covering half of her beauty, but it didn’t make her less appealing. Shameless yet sneaky, Kaneki’s gaze followed the lines of her body, and he took note of how elegantly she walked considering the height of her heels. Her exposed eye was sweeping the room when it came into contact with his, and he realises that it was a shade of blue with a lilting lilac tint.
The two men are perplexed as she makes her way towards the target, swaying her hips from side to side in a way that enchanted every man in the room. Tokage’s mouth hangs agape as he observes her approaching him, his eyes traveling hungrily over her figure and bulging when they reach her cleavage. Tokage squirms uneasily in his position as she sits down on the stool next to him, bending forward and pushing her breasts together. Kaneki was certain that Tokage was experiencing the most embarrassing hard-on.
She starts chatting with a seductive smile on her lips as her hand trails down Tokage’s arm. The man can only nod, as if he were in a trance, and appears to be hanging on her every word. When she speaks more vehemently, Tokage appears to snap out of it and regards her suspiciously. She grins up at him, crossing her legs in front of him, pressing the side of her calf against his, and he seems to be instantly at ease.
“A woman seemed to be interested in him after all,” concludes Hide. “She’s cute and hot, though.”
“So I suppose we both lose the bet,” replies Kaneki, impressed.
Hide and Kaneki continue to watch the exchange. Tokage begins conversing with the woman in a flirtatious manner and seems to give in to whatever she is demanding of him. Midway through their conversation, her smile appears to grow before turning triumphant. Her attitude suddenly changes, and she sits back against the chair with her legs and arms uncrossed. After fifteen minutes passed and Tokage still didn’t seem close to finishing talking, she apologizes to him and grabs a tissue from the counter before writing something on it. Kaneki concludes that it was a phone number and probably, without a doubt, a fake one. After all, a nice woman like her would probably not go out with someone like Tokage after bearing with him for more than two minutes.
“Look at that nice rack! I’d pay only to grab a handful of them,” someone says. Kaneki moves his gaze away from the woman who was getting up and saying goodbye to the depressed Tokage, to look at his right.
Another man, sitting next to the other who had spoken first, laughed, saying, "She looks like a porn star." They were two big, hulking males with dangerous glimmers in their eyes. He continues, taking a swig from his beer, “And not one of those minimum free porn videos, I mean one of those featuring famous actresses, the ones you need a premium account to access.”
“They’re definitely phony,” sneers his companion, copying the size of her assets with his hands. Kaneki couldn’t help but be outraged by their behaviour.
“You are fucking with me right now,” snorts his friend. “Look at how bouncy they are,” he adds, as they both marvel at how her breasts move in sync with each stride. “It appears way too real and natural, and I’ve seen enough fake ones in my life to know that those breast are not plastic. So stop arguing with me, greenhorn.”
There is a brief silence as both men observe her step away from Tokage. “Looks like she’s alone,” one of them comments as she walks out of the club. He stands up, licking his lips, and places his bottle on the table. “Come on, maybe we can hook up with her and have a wonderful time.”
“I like that idea,” his pal smirks maliciously as he stands up. “That’s a nice way to end the night.”
Both men walk towards the exit, passing in front of oblivious people sipping their own drinks. Kaneki and Hide share a glance before immediately rising from their chairs. If those two men talked about doing something unlawful right next to two FBI agents, their camouflage proved to be working nicely.
The two FBI agents follow the two potential offenders and the short-haired woman as they cross the empty, dark street in front of the bar. The men who followed the woman outside were approaching her as she stood a short distance away, talking animatedly on the phone with her handbag at her feet.
The woman was speaking in a language neither Kaneki nor Hide could understand, but they identified it as French based on their little knowledge from high school and college language lessons. There was a pregnant pause as the person on the other end of the line talked, and she shook her head furiously before continuing to speak animatedly. “Non, vas te faire foutre. Tu ne m’as pas ramené I’information dont j’ai besoin, Shittyama.”
(No, go fuck yourself. You didn’t collect the information I need, Shittyama.)
“You’re speaking a fairly unique language there, woman,” one of the men comments. The short-haired woman turns around, finding two bulky males before her. She stares at them momentarily before returning to her phone.
“Écoutes, il y a deux connards qui me dérangent. Tu me donnes deux secondes?”
(Listen, there’s two assholes bothering me. Can you give me two seconds?)
She puts her phone down and turns to face the two grin-sporting men. “Listen up, gents,” she snaps her fingers. “I don’t have patience for this, so if you’d want to continue drinking your pissed-flavoured beer you were enjoying and want to get back home safely tonight, don’t stick your nose up to my business and just go back inside.”
They give her a startled look before laughing out loud. Kaneki and Hide crouched in the shadows further back, waiting to see if the men would try to force the woman before intervening.
“Aren’t you a feisty one? Do you really believe that your tiny body can handle two men twice your size? You can’t even outrun us with those shoes on,” the other man chuckles. She cringes in distaste as his eyes linger over her shape with an ungracious gaze. “Although you have a small body, you have some rather large assets that we would like to enjoy for tonight.”
Kaneki was astonished by the woman’s spirit as she barely made any movement. She was just standing there and staring at them with a bored-looking attitude.
“Why is she not running or calling for help?” whispers Kaneki.
“No idea, but she can’t do much against men her size,” replies Hide.
She speaks again, this time a little louder, “I was in the middle of burning someone over the phone when you idiots rudely interrupted my delightful call. So for the second time, leave me the fuck alone.”
The two men snicker, reaching out to grab her hand. Kaneki springs out of the shadows and hurriedly pulls out his gun tucked away under his jacket. However, before he can even move, the woman’s swinging fist strikes one of the attacker’s jaws, followed by a loud and crisp crack of bones. Kaneki freezes in his place as he watches the man fall to the ground, moaning. The other man grabs her arms in order to seize her from behind, but she quickly steps on his foot with her heel. He yelled in agony but didn’t let go of her arms until she threw her head back and hit him in the face. He collapses to the ground, with his hand on his throbbing nose.
The man she had punched got back up on his feet, and was aiming for her stomach. She quickly avoids it before bringing her foot up and connecting it to his shin. He stumbles and collapses, moaning in agony as he lays on his back, immobile.
She rearranges her dress and huffs angrily. She presses the phone to her ear, which she had held in her hand the entire time, and resumes speaking.
“Désolé pour ça. Et pour ton information, quand tout sera fini, je te tuerai de mes propes mains.”
(Sorry for that. And for your information, when this is over, I will kill you with my own hands.)
She turns her phone off. “Making this hard for me, that fucking gourmet.” Cursing under her breath, she snatches up the purse she had placed on the ground to put the phone inside. She give the two groaning males a sidelong glance and a shrug before turning around and leaving, her stilettos rattling on the concrete.
Kaneki and Hide, who had watched the whole thing without moving, stood in the abyss of darkness with their mouths agape.
“Perhaps, we should bring those two to the station,” proposes Hide.
“I believe they had received the appropriate punishment they deserve,” replies Kaneki, watching as the short-haired woman gradually faded from the view. “We’re still in disguise, and we wouldn’t want Goumasa, that psychopath, to blow up our identity.”
“Who in the world was that woman, anyway? She cute, but scary at the same time,” mumbles Hide, walking back inside the bar.
Kaneki can’t take his eyes off where she had just disappeared.

Scenario where Tokage tells Urie and the other Quinx (possibly including Shirazu?) about Mutsuki's past misdeeds. Possibly in front of the rest of the CCG like the monster he is.
OH MY GOD THE ANGST I LOVE IT.
this takes place in an alternative universe where Shirazu never died, sometime after Rushima, but before the Clown Raid.
“You’re promoting this monster?” Tokage stretched out a hand to brush back Mutsuki’s hair. The quivering boy slapped him away, but that didn’t stop his laughter.
“What’s so funny, punk?” snapped Shirazu.
“Yes, and he’s Mucchy, not a monster.” Saiko crossed her arms.
Urie glanced at a sweating Mutsuki, and Suzuya Juuzou had gone unusually still.
“Unless you’re a cat, right?” Tokage winked at Suzuya, who paled.
“N-no,” stammered Mutsuki, desperate. “No, you’re wrong.”
“You killed the kitty?” Suzuya’s eyes were wide.
Because he would remember, wouldn’t he, Mutsuki thought in horror. He liked Suzuya. And he’d hurt him. Again.
“And his family, ain’t that right?” Tokage cracked his knuckles, and that was it for Aura.
“Fuck off.” He leapt to his feet, Hsaio on his heels.
“Nah.” Tokage leered at Mutsuki. “Tell me, who was first: your dad? your Mom? your brother? Did you kill your brother and make up the abuse to cover it? Huh?”
Mutsuki doubled over. “No - ghouls killed them, you know that - ”
“He’s clearly upset.” Saiko marched over and tried to place her hand on Mutsuki’s shoulder.
Mutsuki pulled away. “Ghouls killed them - I am a ghoul - I am - I am - I am - ”
“Say it, boy.” Tokage lifted Mutsuki up by his collar. “You are grotesque. And now your Rc count is out of control, you know. You’re a menace.”
He shoved Mutsuki to his knees. “Look at his Rc levels. He’s a real ghoul now. Tell me, what exactly did Torso do to you to make you like him?”
Mutsuki hurt too much to scream. Salt streamed down his burning cheeks.
“I’m bad, I’m bad, I’m bad,” he sobbed.
“Did you kill the cat?”
Mutsuki didn’t respond until Takage pinched his cheek. “Yes!”
“Did you kill your family? Did you eat a dead instructor to survive at the auction? Did you dismember Torso like you wish to be dismembered?” Takage kept pinching Mutsuki just the way he knew Mutsuki hated, and the boy kept whimpering “yes” just to end it.
“So, there you have it.” Tokage straightened. “I did my duty by keeping an eye on him, and now you’ll do yours and exterminate this vermin. Quinx.” He spat at them on his way out.
“I’m not a Quinx,” said Suzuya, leaping forward and kneeing Tokage right in the groin.
Higemaru took a step towards Mutsuki, who jerked his head up to see - to see Urie staring at him. Just staring.
He cried out and scrambled back against the wall. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
“I don’t care what you did. You don’t have to be sorry to me,” Saiko said stubbornly.
“We like you,” Higemaru added, and Hsaio nodded with a stern glance towards Aura, who immediately added, “Me too.”
“I like him, too,” Suzuya told Tokage, chewing on a strand of black hair. “I don’t like you. Wait, Mutsuki -”
Everyone’s eyes were on him as Higemaru handed Suzuya handcuffs. “I believe this could be considered interference with an investigation.”
Suzuya clicked the cuffs around a protesting Tokage’s wrists. “If I hadn’t had Mr. Shinohara, I would be worse than you. So I don’t look at you with disgust, because you’ve never done that to me.”
“Come here, boy, my ghoulie friend.” Shirazu crushed Mutsuki to his chest. “Like, am I supposed to be worried you’ll eat me? As if.”
Saiko threw herself atop the two, and Hsaio and Higemaru dragged Aura over.
And through the mass embrace, Urie’s fingers reached out to tap Mutsuki’s shoulder.
“I’m gonna hurt you all,” whispered Mutsuki.
“If we could handle Urie, we can handle you.” Saiko grinned.
Mutsuki’s eyes lingered on Urie. Do you hate me?
“Hey.” Urie smiled stiffly. “You know…whatever you’ve done, you’ve been who you are the entire time we’ve known you. And we like you for who you are. Saiko’s right, I think I’ve been more grotesque than you.”
Mutsuki’s heart beat quicker. Could they - could they all accept him?
“Can I hug you?” Urie asked.
A man…asked him permission to touch him? No one did that.
Mutsuki nodded as tears filled his eyes, and for once he found himself in a safe sea of people who loved him. His family.

Okay so I have another AU that has been swimming in my mind for a while-
This AU is called Akarui Kumo, and it is a Yamori centered AU.
In this AU, Yamori was born a human, and orphaned by his mother at a young age. He was later adopted by Goumasa Tokage. Per his father's wishes, he studied to become a CCG investigator, and was his plan. But that went to shit after he got into an accident with a Ghoul, in which both were hit by a vehicle. And something similar to Kaneki happens, where Yamori is turned into an artificial one eyed Ghoul.
So that's the AU I made so far. The images below is what Yamori looks like in this AU.

ENDLESS PIT (Chapter 2 of 16)
Part 1
Pairing: Touken/Kanetou
Ratings: Mature content/NSFW
Genre: Crime, Romance, Mystery
Synopsis: While attempting to apprehend Tokyo’s most dangerous criminal, FBI agent Kaneki Ken keeps running into a certain short-haired enticing woman in sites linked to the case. Human AU.
AO3 FF.net
_________________________________________
“I’m in position. Are you guys all set?”
“Positive. Our radars have focused on the targets. Two guards were seated on the ground. Hide and I are currently approaching them, and they haven’t yet noticed any suspicious movement.”
“Great. I’m heading in. Stay in your lane, and don’t come after me until I say so, or unless you don’t hear from me.”
As soon as he turned off his earpiece, Kaneki fastened his bulletproof vest to his chest. His teammates, Mado Akira and Nagachika Hideyoshi, were securing the area and eliminating any guards nearby to avoid alarming the target and to prevent any escape route. He was crouching behind a tree, hidden from whoever was in the enormous mansion in front of him.
Who could have predicted the rich man’s contingency plans for an escape?
The FBI agent takes a hold of his gun and creeps towards the backdoor. Surprisingly, there was no one guarding it, and when he turned the handle, however, he was more surprised that it was left unlocked. He had expected that he would have needed to use force to get in, but apparently someone had forgotten to secure every nook of this place.
Something was definitely wrong with the situation. And Kaneki knows it.
Kanou was known for paying attention to every little detail and surrounding himself with maximal security. It was unusual for him to leave his property with untrained men.
When Tokage Goumasa finally gave in and revealed what he knew about their greatest suspect, he mentioned the doctor’s name and explained that Kanou was closer to the big man and could undoubtedly lead them to him. He immediately beat himself into pulp, berating himself for disclosing information about his superior for the second time that week, and pleaded with the agents interrogating him to protect him from harm.
And yet, when Kaneki and his squad confront him about who else he had given the information to, he stays silent and claims that he is too ashamed to have fallen for the demands of the person in question.
The white-haired man makes his way inside, keeping his back close to the wall. Upon making a few steps, his feet hit something on the ground, and he looks down to see a man lying in a pool of his own blood. There was a bullet wound on the man’s chest that had not yet stopped bleeding; indicating that he had been shot recently.
He pulls his earpiece from his neck, inserts it into his ear, and then turns it on before speaking quietly, “Akira-san, Hide. There’s something wrong with this. There’s a man down.”
“We’ve just arrived where the two guards were, and they’re both dead as well, from a bullet through their chests. Clearly, a work of assassination.” Akira’s voice reverberates in his ear.
“Kaneki, be careful. There’s a third party. Do you need any backup, man?” asks Hide.
Kaneki answers, “No, keep a lookout on the perimeter for me in case someone tries to escape. I’ll go inside to check for signs of Kanou.”
He instantly turns off the earpiece without waiting for their approval, this time keeping it in his ear in case something went wrong and he ended up requiring any kind of assistance from his two partners.
In situations when they weren’t sure what would happen or to places they weren’t familiar with, Kaneki was always the one dispatched to investigate them. He was the most erratic, so he would be able to respond and adjust to any unforeseen conditions, like the one they were currently facing.
While holding his gun close to his ear with both hands, he ascends the stairs where he believes Kanou to be lurking around. When he enters a pair of rooms in the dim hallways of the second floor, he sees three other men laying on the ground with bullet wounds in their chests. He peeks inside the vacant rooms he came across. Finding nothing, he then climbs the steps to the next story, where only one set of double doors remains in the hallway. Kaneki anticipates the wicked doctor will be within. After all, villains always preferred to hold positions of authority, as if doing so would demonstrate their supremacy and position in the hierarchy.
Kaneki could see a dim light within the door as it was only slightly ajar. After gently pushing the door open and scanning the area for any indication of danger, he carefully enters when he decides it is safe to do so. The scent of smoke greets him, and he sees a lighted cigarette sitting on an ashtray. There was a large desk and a leather chair on the opposite side of the room, and he could see a head peeking from behind that chair.
Pointing his gun at the person, he makes his intention obvious as he commands, “Hands in the air.” But they remained motionless and simply sat there. Kaneki approaches with caution, and when he is right next to the desk, he carefully turns the chair around, his eyes widening in surprise as he slightly puts his gun down at gunpoint, and stares at the startling sight; Kanou Akihiro was sitting there in his chair, eyes wide open and immobile, a bullet in the centre of his forehead. Blood was still oozing out of the wound.
“Son of a –“ he cuts himself off before he can say a string of offensive words. He was reaching for his earpiece only to be stopped by the unmistakable pressure of a gun barrel at the back of his head.
Kaneki hears a female voice say, “Don’t move, and drop the gun on the desk.” He was completely frozen at his feet and was stunned at how easily she had managed to sneak up on him.
“Are you deaf or plain stupid? I said drop the gun on the desk,” she repeats when he doesn’t comply, pushing the gun further into him.
He then reluctantly sets his gun down, cursing himself for not keeping his earpiece on. Later, Akira would definitely give him a lecture about it and probably give him a Mado punch. That is, if he made it out of there unharmed and well.
“Try anything funny and I won’t hesitate to put a bullet in your brain. Now, be the good boy you are and walk towards that door.”
Kaneki complies and moves cautiously in the direction of the door. Once he was in front of it, the woman pushed him aggressively till his chest was firmly pressed against the door. She immediately began running her hands around his side and back. Kaneki presumes that she was checking to see if he was carrying any other weapons. When she was satisfied, he was roughly seized by the shoulder and turned around with his back to the door.
A young woman with slicked back hair stood before him. She was dressed in a fitted long-sleeved black shirt, cuffed leather pants, and black boots. Finally focusing on her face, he was startled to see that it was the same woman he had previously witnessed fighting the two attackers and seen flirting with Tokage. The only differences were that this time far less skin was exposed, and he was the one receiving her aggression.
She has been searching him thoroughly, but when her hand sneaks inside his jacket and retrieves a smaller gun he had kept hidden, she smiles in triumph. She tucks the gun in her pants and smiles widely when her eyes meet his astonished expression.
“Well, hello there. I assume you remember the brief performance I gave you at the bar, correct?” Her hand was trailing down his chest.
“I must say that this is a surprising turn of events, but...” he pauses, swallowing his spit as she keeps feeling him up. They share an intense stare.
“You know, I’m not complaining, but maybe we shouldn’t forget proper courtesy. How about dinner first?” He chuckles, tearing their gazes apart, his grey eyes tracking her restless hands.
She smirks, “You realize I have the option to end your life at any moment, right?”
“A man can try,” he smirks back. “So, do you normally come to places like this to take down both law enforcement officials and criminals?”
“Only when they share your level of attractiveness.”
She flashes a cocky smirk while biting her bottom lip and tracing a finger down his arm. He has the weirdest temptation to lick the dark crimson lipstick stain that was left on her front teeth as a result of the action. For some reason, the idea felt too alluring for the setting, yet the danger made the excitement even more thrilling.
“So what are your motives?” he asks, forcing himself to tear his eyes away from her tempting lips. “Did someone hire you to assassinate Kanou?”
The woman puts some distance between them and removes her hand from his body, and Kaneki experiences an odd sense of disappointment.
“Wouldn’t you like to know,” was her only response.
He replies, “I would. If you’re planning to kill me, you should at least explain your side. We needed the man, but you burst in and shot him before we could even ask him one question."
The woman looks at him dead in the eyes before giving a full-mouthed laugh in which she throws her head backwards, exposing the entire expanse of her neck. “Oh, what a funny guy...” When she regains her breathing, she wipes the invisible tears from her eyes, giggling to herself. “This is not some stupid spy movie or book where the shitty antagonist explains his entire scheme to the shitty main character before killing the little fucker,” she retorts, pausing for a moment. “Besides, that's a false accusation. I’m not a murderer. My hands are still clean and I’m still sane. You’ll be fine, Mr. Agent.”
Kaneki lifts an eyebrow as he takes in the sight of Kanou on the chair behind her. His voice was solemn, hinting, “What do you mean? There’s a bullet in that doctor’s forehead. He looks very dead to me.”
Her amused look was replaced by a poker face. “He’s no doctor. He doesn’t deserve that fucking title, and deep down, you know the fucking reason... And I don’t have the foggiest notion about his shitty death. I discovered him like that when I came here,” she scoffs, playing with her own gun and muttering, “Though, I have to admit I didn’t expect some guys who hold the law in their hands to be here tonight.”
Suspicion-filled, he nods. “All right, so let’s assume you didn’t kill him,” he squints his eyes and tilts his head. “Tell me, why did you come here, and who sent you?”
Her lips twitch in irritation, and she shifts from one foot to another, crossing her arms over her chest. “You’re still on that? Man, playing with an agent is surely tiring...” The woman sighs in exasperation when he still bores his eyes into her. “Fine, I work alone, and we have the same reason; information.”
She turns to face Kanou, clicking her tongue against the roof of her mouth, “And to think some bastard got here before me ticks me off. I’m going to have to do the work all over again,” she mutters to herself, “It wasn’t very pleasant to fling myself all over that lunatic. That motherfucker almost gave me a headache.”
“So you’re the third party whom Tokage had disclosed the information to, huh?” He interrogates, licking his own lips after seeing how her red-coloured lips moved in response to each word she uttered. She smiles suggestively, as though she had noticed. She untangles her arms and moves closer to him, pressing her body against his. He clenched his jaw, knowing that there was nothing he could do while she had a gun in her hand.
The white-haired agent inhales sharply when one of her hands slips inside of his bulletproof vest. He then feels himself becoming aroused as she traces his abdominal muscles over the thin shirt he was wearing underneath the vest.
The short-haired woman felt his desire as she ground her hips against his. He let out a groan, biting his lower lip hard enough to draw blood to hold his mind together.
Stop, don't start a game you won't be able to win once I take control," he exhaled, desire and hunger obscuring his vision.
She chuckles and brings the gun to his face, tapping the barrel against his temple. “I believe you’re mistaken,” she says with a smirk. “You’re the one who might be on all fours with your head down.”
A muscle in his jaw twitches before he takes a deep breath. “Do you have plans to let me go or do you still want to keep tormenting me? My companions will be arriving soon, and you don’t want to meet my superior. Akira-san is a frightening woman.”
“Aw, you already want to get rid of me?” She teases, slowly pulling away from him, and he was, once again, disappointed when he no longer felt the warmth of her body. “ I thought we were having a good time here. But if you want me to leave, I’ll do so.”
“Can I... at least get a kiss before you disappear?” he blurts out before he can even stop himself.
She gapes at him, visibly losing her cool before the corner of her mouth quirks up. Embarrassed by the ridiculousness of his request, Kaneki looks sideways as his cheeks begin to warm up. She pulls him by the collar, drags him behind her, and shoves him up against the desk until he is practically sitting on it. She pushes his legs wide, settling in between them, and presses her body against his as he feels her hands on his knees. She gave him a half-lidded look before grabbing the collar of his shirt and pressing her lips to his.
He had forgotten entirely, at that moment, that he was there on a mission. He was a goner with just a brush of her lips. He groans into her mouth as her hands trail up his face and bury themselves in his white locks, tugging slightly and allowing her to slip her tongue between his lips.
As their tongues meet, Kaneki tilts his head to the side and opens his mouth wide for her to taste. She drags her hands down his shoulders and past his vest to grab a handful of his backside, swallowing his groans into her mouth. He wanted to touch her, but out of concern that he may be blasted with a bullet in his temple, he kept his hands on the desk. After all, she was the one who had instructed him to remain still, and he did not want to upset her in any way after witnessing her easily dispatch two guys twice her size in a matter of seconds. He had received enough reprimands from Akira and her Mado punches each day.
Her hand moves down the length of his arm, and Kaneki feels a light pressure on his wrist. She nips his lower lip after taking her tongue out of his mouth, before pulling her lips away from his, and a string of saliva connected them, leaving him dazed and perplexed. When she backs away from him completely, a broad smile stretches her lips, and her lipstick is splattered all over her mouth. It was, if he were being really honest, the sexiest sight he had ever seen in his entire life.
“That’s my little farewell gift to you, better treasure it,” she tells him. “But I don’t think this will be the last time we see each other.”
The blue-eyed woman smiles at him as she moves towards the balcony as they both hear footsteps coming from downstairs. She opens the glass doors and proceeds to the edge, determining how many meters above the ground she was. In an effort to pursue her and prevent her from taking any rash actions, Kaneki got up from the desk, but he was dragged back when something tugged at his wrist.
She had bound him to the desk with the handcuffs he had in his back pocket.
She must have heard the groan escape his lips as she turns around and quirks an eyebrow before reaching into her pocket, pulling out the keys, and holding them in front of her face.
“Oh, come on,” he grunts, rubbing his forehead with his free hand. “Give me the keys at least—you wouldn’t leave me in this situation, would you?”
“Your teammates are coming up. I’m not leaving you to die,” she says, clicking her tongue, then putting the keys back inside her pocket. “I’m keeping this as a memory. So... so long, Sasaki Haise.”
Kaneki doesn’t have the chance to question her about how she knew his alias as she jumps off the balcony.
He groans over how he had been so easily duped by her as he stares with horrified eyes as she once more vanished into the night’s darkness. He had never encountered a woman who was so alluring, and he had never been more drawn to anyone. She was feisty and assertive, just like many other FBI women he knew. However, there was something alluring about her that attracted him to her like a magnet.
He was startled out of his reverie as the door burst open and Akira and a concerned Hide entered the room. They both paused their steps when they saw their teammate and the situation he was in.
Kaneki mumbles, “Great.” He would never hear the end of it.
“What happened to you?” asks Hide. “Did you go to war with a lipstick tube?”
“Just... just help me with this,” grunts Kaneki, embarrassed.
“What happened?” asks Akira worriedly, “We decided to check up on you when we didn’t hear from you, but I can see that you are uninjured.”
“Kanou is dead,” he informs her, and her eyes shift to the chair, where the intended target was found immobile. “I found him like this when I came here,” adds Kaneki. “The culprit was already gone.”
Akira approaches the body and begins inspecting it from a distance, as she was reluctant to come much closer for fear of tampering with the evidence.
Hide points at his face and asks skeptically, “But who did this to you?”
As hesitant as he was, Kaneki chose to respond to his query since Hide wouldn’t let him live until he spit it out. “There was a woman here, and she caught me off guard.” The story omitted a few key details, however.
“How can it explain the lipstick on your face?” The other man marvels, before realization dawns on him as he gapes at the white-haired agent. “Holy – did you make out with her or something?!”
“No,” he responds in defense. He refuses to let Hide know about his moment of weakness. “She held me at gunpoint the entire time, and was the one who initiated the kiss!”
Hide’s lips twitch as his best friend inadvertently strokes his chin, which, of course, didn’t escape Hide’s observation.
“She might be the suspect, yet you let her escape!” bellows Akira, “I thought we sent you inside to handle any unforeseen circumstances, but here you are, under a woman’s thumb!”
“I know I’m being stupid, but I don’t think she’s the culprit,” he mumbles under his breath.
Hide let out a burst of deep, loud, and hearty laughter, patting him on the back. “You only needed one random woman to kiss you for you to go insane, huh?”
“It wasn’t a random woman,” Kaneki retorts aggressively. “The woman who was here was the same one who was in the bar.”
“Oh, you mean the one who kicked ass?” asks Hide, surprised. “Now that clarifies a lot, I suppose. She must be good considering her moves that night.”
“Where did she go?” demands the fuming blonde agent, pacing the area, looking for any other concealed dangers.
“She leaped from the balcony,” affirms Kaneki. “That’s why I told you to remain where you are. You could have captured her if you hadn’t come after me.”
Akira walks up to the balcony to search for any signs of the escaped woman and says, “It doesn’t matter. If she is responsible, we will eventually capture her.”
“Now, let’s get moving, Akira-san,” says Hide, signalling for their superior to leave the room. “We must contact the team to gather any DNA and data at the scene.”
They start to walk towards the door when they hear someone clearing their throat.
“Um, I think I’m going to need a little help with this,” tells them Kaneki, looking away before lifting his cuffed hand to show that he was still bound to the desk.
Hide laughs, throwing his head back and holding his stomach. Akira chose to cross her arms and give him a scathing gaze.
“Damn, that girl surely has some kink,” comments Hide, wiping the tears from his eyes.
Kaneki had a flushed face and his cheeks were constantly covered in a comically bright red color. Then, for an even longer time, he couldn’t stop thinking about the mystery woman.

Do you think the baby is gonna die by kanou?
Alright I am going to attempt now, to answer the question  of Kanou’s… methodology and morality, which I answered as a joke about two posts earlier. It’s actually quite complicated so it’s going to take a bit of disecting.
The question is, how much of a danger would Kanou be to Touka if he were to kidnap her and then assist her with the pregnancy. That answer in itself is not clear as we actually have no idea as to Kanou’s motivations even now, only his methods.
Looking at his methods alone it’s not particularly looking good. Kanou has most likely the highest body count in the series. Even if you were to assume the low end of the number of Investigators who had Owl transferred into them and say there were only about 100 who went missing and were kindapped by Aogiri. That would mean that in addition to the 1200 that were kidnapped and experimented on by Kanou, that would be a 1300 total.
Tumblr media
Which gives kanou the highest individual body count in the series, possibly tied with Furuta at this point if you consider Furuta the accomplice to all of those deaths. Kanou is also more closely tied to Furuta than any other character in the series.
Tumblr media
Furuta’s weird flashback could reveal that the only person that Furuta might cooperate, or even trust rather than simply dominate and manipulate is Kanou. The two of them share some similarities, they both are good at using rhetoric in order to put on acts and convince others to fight for causes that they themselves do not care particularly about.
Tumblr media
He also created the birdcage metaphor that Eto adopts. However, Eto actually believes in it while it’s likely that Kanou doesn’t. Especially considering that he went immediately back to working for the CCG the moment that Furuta took over.
Tumblr media
Kanou even muses for a moment that rather than having an assistant, he might simply be an assistant to someone else. It’s likely the person he’s talking about here is Furuta.
Tumblr media
If you were to look at Furuta and Kanou as characters with similiar mindsets then and compare them, it would mean that at best Kanou finds his closest cooperation partner with an extremist whose willing to go to lengths far exceeding Eto’s in order to become a perfect villain to destroy the world, and at worst a complete nihilist who wants to bring an end to the fighting by motivating both sides into killing each other in an elaborate double suicide to give significance to his own death.
Either interpretation of Furuta, and thus Kanou however puts them ata great distance from most of humanity.
Tumblr media
Kanou’s one small flashback connection to Ogura in 103 even hints at that. The omake gives us a little depth into Kanou.
Narration: Ever since Akki joined, the number of female members had increased…
Girls crowding around Kanou: Kyaa! Kanou-ku~n!
Ogura: Hey, the order in this club is falling apart! As the president of the Ghoul Research Society, I can’t keep quiet about this! I can’t turn a blind eye to you and your popularity with the ladies! Are you going to pick the meetings or the ladies? I’ll make it clear for you…Akki!
Ogura: The girls or the Research Society…which one are you going to choose!?
Kanou: You’re a pain in the ass.
Narration: It was then that I thought that this was the first time that I had ever heard his true thoughts.
Kanou has the charisma to attract people left and right, and yet at the same time he seems to have absolutely no regard for other people that do not interest him as well.
Narration: From the next day on, Kanou Akihiro didn’t show up to the Research Society. It seemed like he had finished reading all the valuable literature the Research Society had [on ghouls]. I graduated a year late from university, and several years later I ran into him by chance on the street. He went and left without a sign that he had recognized me. Later, I regretted not being able to speak to him then. I…I had wanted to keep being friends with him.
When he leaves the ghoul research society, it’s because he read through all of their literature and therefore they are useless to him. Despite spending time in college together, he completely forgets Ogura’s name and face too.
Tumblr media
Falling in and out of relationships easily, and yet at the same time having a tendency towards total fixation of certain individuals. Which is how his obsession with Kaneki has always been portrayed. A fixation. Furuta says so plainly, there is absolutely nothing special about Kaneki, he was not chosen in any way besides pure luck.
Tumblr media
Kanou’s obsession with Kaneki, especially in comparison to Eto who probably could have put anyone in the seat of the one eyed king as long as they were powerful enough to defeat Arima Kishou (it’s a nameless king intentionally named by her that way after all), is likely just the result of his own personality disorder.
Tumblr media
Kanou falling in and out of relationships with others depending more on their usefulness to him, his tendency to hyper fixate then on certain individuals, his disregard for society’s rules and even total disdain for it, all of these are traits that are typical potrayals of antisocial personality disorder in characters.
However, even if we were to say that Kanou’s actions can be explained away by his sociopathy, that’s very much the antithesis of the story’s thematic insistence that monsters are created and not born. Even Torso so far has had a so called crybaby backstory in order to explain away his actions but why not Kanou? It is thematically a little weird to have Kanou as an outlier completely incapable of empathy in a story that is about human relationships, and the natural want for empathy in everyone.
My counter to that of course, is that Kanou himself is not really ever depicted as completely void of empathy. Even calling Kanou Frankenstein might be inaccurate, because Kanou never hated the monster like Viktor did. In fact he offered to help Kaneki, and fell in love with his creation from afar as soon as he heard about what it had accomplished. That’s pretty much the opposite of Viktor.
Tumblr media
Kanou is actually nothing but kind to both Kurona and Nashiro when raising the two of them as a surrogate father. Even when Kurona fails entirely to repel Suzuya, Kanou himself does not seem particularly hostile towards them for their failure. He’s just entirely pragmatic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She can’t be saved so it’s no use bothering to try. Which means, kindness, compassion, are all behaiors Kanou can demonstrate but it’s always up until a point. That point is usually just however long they remain useful to him. Kurona even comments so much after the fact, that both Nashiro and Herself came out being treated as objects by Kanou when they turned out not so useful as he thought they might.
Tumblr media
Kanou strings people along with affection and charisma, and he almost never has any malicious intent towards those people. Which makes him quite different from a lot of the abusers in Tokyo Ghoul. At the end of the day though they ultimately end up being objects to him.
Tumblr media
Even Kanou’s great abuse of Takizawa, was not done with any sadistic intentions in mind, it was pure pragmatism.
There are a couple of suggestions that Kanou might have a greater motivation than simply “science is fun.” Kurona makes a mention of a lab of his that burned down once, and also he seems to scoff at the idea that Kurona suggests he’s simply a mad scientist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, I think the true problem with Kanou might not arise from his own lack of empathy, but rather the system that enables him. After all, if Kanou had never been exposed to ghoulification, he would probably just be a normal doctor. In fact, his lack of empathy might have made him a better doctor as he would be able to withstand the wear and tear of hospital work much better without being affected much mentally by it.
Tumblr media
It was the CCG who enabled Kanou, and the pulled the plug without any regard for what might happen to Kanou after the fact. The CCG has always shown to be careless with individuals like this, Goumasa Tokage, Kijima, Mado they are all allowed basically free reign to do whatever they please as long as they point those sadistic tendencies sometimes at ghouls.
Sure, Kanou has a body count in the thousands when it comes to humans but how many still alive ghouls has Chigyou taken in, in order to be most likely experimented on while still alive and turned into Quinques. Considering that the CCG has no ethical restraints when it comes to torturing ghouls I can’t see them even bothering to use sedative when the quinque is being extracted, and after it’s out they threw them straight into the grinder. What about Shiba who was willing to operate on a girl who gave no consent to having ghoul parts put in her, and instead had her parents sign a form for her for money.
Tumblr media
It’s likely, Kanou, Chigyou, Shiba, all of them are exactly as Urie observed. They just want to work with pure science and be praised for their scientific skill, and this is enabled and taken to it’s absolute worse by the CCG’s methodology, of being completely unscrupulous towards the killing of ghouls.
What exactly does this mean for Touka? As I said before, it’s likely Kanou has no malicious intent for Touka at all.He would probably keep her safe as a fun science experiment, but the exact same way he treated Kurona and rendered her essentially an object, he would be abusing Touka as well.
What Kanou is likely to hold her in is more akin to an extremely comfortable prison cell, rather than a sterile operating chamber.

Is this just me, or Mutsuki was interrogated by a guy that was similar to Tokage, the man who tortured Yamori?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Somehow both of them have very similar appearance traits, even if Tokage’s face changed after Yamori’s revenge, and also Tokage was asking Sasaki about Mutsuki back in Rose Arc, describing Tooru as a problematic kid. If it truly is Tokage, then I wonder what did the further interrogation look like, knowing his sadistic tendencies.
