No episódio três de HOTD, a família real e alguns nobres vão até a Mata do Rei para celebrar os dois anos do príncipe Aegon. Em certo momento Otto Hightower aparece e diz:
"Os caçadores reais mandaram notícias, Vossa Graça. Eles observaram um cervo branco. Esse cervo é o "Rei da Mata do Rei", Vossa Graça. Um presságio esplêndido para o Dia do Nome do príncipe Aegon."
No fim, esse cervo branco aparece para Rhaenyra, enquanto o cervo pego para Aegon é de uma coloração comum. Quem conhece a história da Dança dos Dragões sabe que O Deleite do Reino {SPOILER} ascende ao Trono de Ferro como rainha, mas depois é deposta, morta pelo irmão e tem seu título de monarca apagado dos registros de Westeros.
Então qual o sentido do cervo branco aparecer para Rhaenyra?
Segundo o próprio Otto, este cervo é um símbolo da realeza, logo, ele apareceu para a princesa como um presságio de que a realeza Targaryen era ela. E os dois cervos tiveram destinos diferentes, mostrando o que aconteceria com a linhagem dos dois irmãos. Rhaenyra deixou o animal vivo, e no fim da guerra civil foi seu sangue que sobreviveu e deu continuidade a Casa do Dragão. Já o de Aegon foi capturado e morto, sendo a representação da linhagem Verde sendo extinta da dinastia.
