Stuffed animals
I love stuffed animals with all my heart and I wanna crochet or knit one so bad!!! My early childhood plushie was a teddy bear with no name I got from my aunt I think? For my 10th birthday, she got me an elephant I called Ellie and she's still my main plushie, but I probably own over 40 now (the last time I counted I had about 30 but I got a bunch more in the meantime) and yes they're all in my bed which was one of the reasons I have a 1.40 m wide bed lmao

Best New Heavy Metal Releases Week of February 17th, 2023
Bit of a rough week for me on a personal level, as I wasn’t really sure if I was going to put out a new list for the week or not. I tested positive for my second round of Covid Wednesday night and that put me pretty far behind on my list. Got on some Paxlovid and things turned around pretty quickly after that. Not sure if it was the meds or knowing that Hellripper had put out a new album. Ill just go with both being a tremendous help. Time for the highlights.
All My Shadows-Eerie Monsters (Heavy/Hard Rock)**
This was a very pleasant surprise. From the album art and the band name, I would have bet money this was going to be some American metalcore band. I was fully expecting for this to be a short couple track listen and then a move to another album. Well, this is actually the vocalist and guitarist from the band Vanden Plas, so what you have here is some top quality Melodic Metal with a Progressive tinge. Excellently crafted songs with some killer guitar work. Not exactly sure why this was not just used on a VP album, as this sounds like classic VP. Regardless of all of that, if this is a genre you enjoy, this could easily be stuck on your personal play list for quite a while.
Tulus-Fendens Kall (Black)**
This is labeled as Black Metal, but to be completely honest, that is to simple a designation. There is a lot going on here, from folk influences to straight up simple Hard Rock and even flashes of Doom. This was the first band Blodstrop and Sarke were in before starting the band Khold. I will freely admit for Black Metal purists, this album may be hard to get into but I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Hellripper-Warlocks Grim & Withered Hags (Black/Speed)**
What can you say about James McBain that hasn’t already been said? Hands down one of the very best in this Black/Speed Metal genre and still a one man project. This album just continues his streak of releasing one killer album after another that are just a blast to listen to. The only differences I see is maybe a bit of advancement in the overall songwriting and his guitar leads are getting better and better, which is impressive as they were already pretty damn good to begin with. Hellripper for me has become an automatic purchase album every time I hear he has an album coming out and this one was easily a preorder.
Tryglav-The Ritual (Melodic Black)**
Yet another one man Melodic Black Metal project. Slowly but surely, this is becoming more of the norm than the exception. I first listened to this on Sunday morning so I didn’t get as much time with this as I did the Hellripper album. Even so, it was really pushing the “Warlocks…” album for the pick of the week. Excellent use of melody and guitar work throughout the length of the album. There is something very addictive about this album and I feel it will get a lot more play in the near future.
That will do it for this week. Still not at 100% but getting there and when I thought of possibly skipping this week, it made me feel worse than the covid. The cause of Heavy Metal waits for no man! Illness is nothing compared to praising the glory of all the Metals! Or even worse, disappointing my tens and tens of fans that actually read this thing….lol Until next week, and as always, listen to metal and fill your soul with happiness and, of course…

Albums of the Week! Here’s where I share the records that spent the most time on my stereo since last Saturday. Metallica takes the top spot again with new drop, 72 Seasons. I didn’t expect to like this, and I even disliked it on the first listen. But once I properly categorized it as what it is (a dirt bar groove metal album) and what it isn’t (thrash/extreme), I came to really enjoy it on its own terms. Next up, Blood Star’s amazing debut, First Sighting, which hits all the essential heavy metal sweet spots. In case you missed it, Raider’s new album is a fantastic slab of death/thrash. The live album of the week is from Sulphur Aeon. Lastly, has it become obvious that I’ve fallen in love with Christian Mistress lately?
