Photo: Fred Weichel and his legal team after the $33 million verdict (from left to right: Carmen Guhn-Knight, Monica Fuentes, Quinn Rallins, Fred Weichel, Mark Loevy-Reyes, and Howard Friedman)
Yesterday, jurors in the Suffolk Superior Court awarded our client, Fred Weichel, $33 million as compensation for the nearly 36 years he spent in prison as an innocent man. Fred will only receive $1 million because Massachusetts’s erroneous conviction statute has a cap. Still, the jurors’ verdict sends a message that Fred has waited over four decades to hear: We believe Fred Weichel is innocent.
Fred was wrongfully convicted of the murder of Robert Lamonica in Braintree in 1981. Over the course of his 2.5 week trial, Fred and his legal team showed the jury evidence of Fred’s innocence. We presented multiple alibi witnesses placing Fred miles away, in Boston, at the time of the murder. We presented evidence that the lead police investigator had tunnel vision and decided Fred was his suspect without doing a proper investigation. This police investigator then lied to the grand jury, claiming that four witnesses identified Fred as the man they saw running from the murder scene. In fact, only one witness identified Fred, but that witness was an intoxicated teenager who saw a man running fast, in the dark, for about 1-2 seconds, from 175 feet away. At trial, we demonstrated that it would have been impossible for the witness to identify the running man from that distance.
The Attorney General’s office, which represented the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in this lawsuit, tried to convince the jury that Fred was the murderer. They also argued that even if he wasn’t the murderer, he still didn’t deserve compensation because he couldn’t prove that he didn’t help the real murderer or commit some other related felony. As Fred said, “The jury didn’t buy it. I was just framed. It’s that simple.”

Imagine the coroika kids playing amogus.....
Aloha is definitely the best at playing impostor. Aloha lies regardless if he's crew or imp, though there is a slight difference in how he lies, depending on what role he has. Either he always has an alibi planned, or is just That Convincing to other people that he's innocent. He never does his tasks as a crewmate.
Mask and Army are the main tryhards. Mask likes playing detective and will neglect his tasks if he gets tunnel-vision on his suspicions. Army takes mental note of where everyone goes at the start of each round. If an imp lies about the location of themself or anyone else, chances are, Army's gonna know. If either of these two are impostor, they kinda crumble. Army can usually deduce a good place to kill and self-report, but he has a Habit of self-reporting. Mask is more prepared to throw suspicion onto other people/shift the blame, but it becomes more baseless after a few rounds.
Skull will follow Rider like a lost puppy sometimes; they both tend to be very task-brained, and focus on being efficient crewmates. If Skull gets asked what room(s) he was in, unless someone else vouches for him, he Doesn't Know. (It makes Army die a little on the inside.) Rider doesn't really trust anyone, even if like 3 other people vouch for 1 person. Maybe he compulsively checks admin once every round, but he never does anything with the information.
Goggles and Hachi are essentially wildcards. They'll claim to be impostor even if they're crewmates. They'll vent in front of each other if one or both of them are imp. It's a toss-up whether or not they'll turn a blind eye to an imp venting or murdering, and it's both infuriating and hilarious. They're both completely out of touch if they're crewmates; they'll pick a place to stay, and stand there or run around for entire rounds. Sometimes Bobble Hat, Skull, or Emperor will join them.
Bobble Hat doesn't have to talk much during meetings because no one suspects her in the first place. Her plan is to kill crewmates asap, and pretend she sees nothing noteworthy ever. She doesn't call tasks by name, but she does wander around pretending to do a set number of them when it's convenient. She prefers to be crewmate instead of impostor though; tasks are fun.
Specs and Headphones tend to trust each other and vouch for one another doing tasks. They're mainly accountability-buddies, but they do split up sometimes to do tasks. If one of them is imp though-- let's say Headphones-- you can bet that Specs is unintentionally "3rd impostoring" by believing Headphones is innocent.
Gloves and Emperor claim to know what they're doing without actually knowing. Similar but different from Mask, Gloves will make wild accusations based on nothing at any time. His idea is to make the accusation, then gauge their reaction. It doesn't nornally work very well, since most people respond with an exasperated "it's not me." Emperor just sorta goes "hmmmm, I see" at anything that's said in a meeting. Sometimes he'll join in on Goggles and Hachi's bold claim shenanigans. Emperor has a record of being right for the wrong reasons every now and then, and that's basically the only times Aloha is caught; people trust Emperor's lucky intuition over Aloha.

Adnan Syed? What happened there? I might regret asking but I will regret turning a blind eye on social issues. Also how do you learn about all these different people? Did you study criminology or do I live under a rock? 😬
How I learn about these things - I partially seek out these stories and they also tend to come to me. The majority of the media I consume is nonfiction. I listen to a lot of podcasts and primarily watch documentaries, and because of my interest in criminology that tends to be where I’m drawn. Another factor is my interest in social politics / activism and that being an interest in my friend groups too. Also friends who have a big interest in true crime. So between social media posts and casual conversation, I’m usually Aware of Things. To top it off I’m a pretty avid researcher so I’m not stranger to deep dives when a topic catches my attention, as you’ll soon see.
We all start somewhere ! Even if you don’t want to deep dive into any particular person or incident, I think it’s helpful to have some knowledge of specifics in various case just to build your own understanding.
So I will try to keep it concise when it comes to Adnan Syed but I’ve consumed about 30 hours of content on this one case. If you gave me the ability to pardon people, he would be near the top of my list. Okay let’s go!
The State of Maryland vs Adnan Syed (1999)
Basics:
Adnan was arrested and charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee. There was no physical evidence. The state had one witness, Jay, and relied on his testimony + cell tower evidence to convict. Adnan was 17 at the time and is currently serving life in prison.
The Witness -
his testimony changed a lot and not in regards to minor details. There’s reason to believe he was heavily coerced by the police into cooperation. On interview tapes there are pretty clear indicators he was receiving nonverbal clues to adjust his answers. Some thinly veiled threats were also made to Jay by the police if they didn’t get what they needed from him (primarily saying they would send his case to a district that is primarily white - meaning that his jury would be predominantly white; Jay is black).
Cell Tower Evidence -
absolute nonsense. I believe this was the first case to ever use cell tower evidence to convict and iirc it’s no longer viable in court because we have a much better understanding of it and the lack of dependability. It was misrepresented in Adnans case as being an infallible source for location tracking.
The Worst Lawyer Ever -
omg I hate this woman so much. Adnan was represented by an attorney named Cristina Gutierrez. It’s widely believed that she threw his first case and in fact she was eventually debarred for the mishandling of client funds - namely dragging out cases to get more money. (I’ll mention a particularly horrific thing she did in another case in the tags - tw for child abuse). Gutierrez failed to contact or interview a key witness for Adnan (a classmate that had recalled being with him at the time of murder). I’ve listened to a lot of tapes of this woman talking, she’s impressively unlikable. Fun fact - Adnans first trail was thrown out because the jury heard Gutierrez arguing with the judge (iirc this argument resulted in the judge calling her a liar and the jury asked about the implications of that) the jury was interviewed regarding how they would have convicted and it was majority not guilty.
Racism:
Adnan’s parents are Pakistani immigrants. The murder was painted as a “honor killing” from day one. The prosecution painted Adnan as a devastated, revenge focused individual. They claimed that he broke all his rules to be with her (a strict household, he wasn’t allowed to date) and that Hae had humiliated him by ending the relationship. An attorney at a bail hearing referenced “many” similarities between Adnans case and the case of another Pakistani man who had been on trial for an “honor killing” who got out on bond and fled to Pakistan and couldn’t be extradited. This attorney later wrote a letter to the judge clarifying that the only similarity was that both defendants were of Pakistani heritage. By the accounts of Adnans friends AND Hae’s personal diary (which was read at court) their breakup was actually quite drama free - they both moved on and remained friends. Also under the category I’ll mention Hae’s new, white, boyfriend was never seriously considered even though his alibi was sketchy AF.
Misc:
Adnan’s DOB was entered incorrectly on his entry paperwork - listing him as 18 instead of 17. This impacted everything including his ability to qualify for parole and was never caught or corrected.
Adnan was picked up by police 6 weeks after the murder took place. The most damaging thing against Adnan is that he can’t recall for certain what he was doing at the time of the murder. But we’re looking at a time frame of under an hour and youre asking a teenager what they did a month prior.
The CrimeStoppers reward amount was weirdly specific and correlated to a note a police officer had made when Jay mentioned a second hand street bike he wanted to buy. An anonymous CrimeStoppers tip is what police claimed caused them to look into Adnan as a suspect.
There’s a lot more that I want to mention but the biggest thing I have to say is that I’m 50/50 regarding if he did it. But I’m 100% sure he was not rightfully convicted. There was no physical evidence. The police tunneled visioned when they got a young man of color in their radar and Adnan had the misfortune of an incredibly incompetent team.

DRV3 kids as how they’d play Among Us
Shuichi Saihara: As a crew mate he tries to complete his tasks as quickly and safely as possible. Every time someone runs past him he makes a mental note of who, where, and when. Once he finishes his tasks he joins up with other players, preferably in groups of 3, to clear them. As an imposter he gets tries to pick a target and make sure neither himself or the target is seen by anyone else so that when meetings start he doesn’t have to worry about stumbling over fake alibis. He sometimes switches up the order of the things he did to throw off the others. Everyone can tell when he’s been caught because he gets super quiet and when it becomes clear he’s been caught he just fesses up instead of trying to deflect onto the others. His best imposter pair is Kaede! These two are usually the most helpful crew mates in regards to fact checking and logic so everyone else gets screwed when they rely on their false info.
Maki Harukawa: No matter if she’s a crew mate or an imposter, on the first meeting without fail Kokichi calls her sus. It fills her with unbridled rage. When she’s a crew mate she focuses on tasks and pays no attention to anyone else. Half of the time she reports a body she can’t remember where she even found it. As an imposter she’s brutally efficient and when half of the crew is wiped out in a single round it gives her away but it does help her fellow imposter out a ton. The only time she can’t win as imposter is when Kaito decides to pair up with her because she knows if she kills him that she’ll never hear the end of his whining. Her best imposter pair is Himiko or Kaito! She carries them in kills while they distract and defend her.
Kaito Momota: As a crew mate he gets distracted very easily. The second a sabotage happens he’ll run to the opposite side of the map to repair it himself because one time no one went to do O2 and they lost because of it. If he passes Shuichi or Maki on the map he just abandons everything to pair with them to make sure they’re safe. He does the same with Kokichi but to make sure Kokichi isn’t up to anything. Kokichi always kills him the second they cross paths because of this and Kaito screams to himself. As an imposter he gets super nervous and has trouble forming a plan. Any time he has the chance to kill someone he ends up second guessing himself until he’s too late. When someone confronts him about his alibi during meetings he tries to laugh it off as faulty memory or tunnel vision. Kokichi and Shuichi are always the first to know when he’s faking it. When Shuichi confronts him he humbly accepts defeat but when Kokichi does it he starts rage deflecting. His best imposter pair is Kokichi or Shuichi! Those two are the best at reading Kaito’s confidently stated but logically flawed alibis so he can do his best work when they’re supporting his stupid claims.
Kokichi Ouma: As a crew mate he tries to throw as a joke in the first round but had to promise Shuichi and Kaede he wouldn’t do it EVERY time because it wasn’t fun for anyone else. He just says anyone is sus without a real reason and calls it a gut reaction. His gut reactions are surprisingly accurate. He refuses to complete his tasks because “task wins are boring” but he always does up until his last task so that people can’t immediately tell when he’s imposter. He lies about where he was and what he was doing a lot but makes sure that someone else saw him so that they can provide his alibi for him. As an imposter he makes it his mission to torment Kaito specifically. He sabotages the lights and follows him uncomfortably close behind but never actually kills him. The second Kaito starts stalking HIM is when he kills him. The only people who can tell he’s imposter are Shuichi, who knows when he’s lying, and Himiko, who keeps watching cams and occasionally catches him acting weird. His best imposter pair is Maki! Both are independently efficient so the games are over quickest when these two are off on their own independent sprees.
Himiko Yumeno: As a crew mate she sticks by someone else as often as possible. If no one will stay with her she nervously finishes tasks as quick as she can and goes to security. When someone else starts going in the same direction as her she gets super scared and calls an emergency meeting to cry about how she’s be chased. She’s more inclined to follow Kokichi and Shuichi around because she knows if they’re imposter than at least they’ll kill her quickly and in a less scary way than being chased by Maki and Kaede or suddenly attacked by Kaito who she thought was safe. As an imposter she immediately outs herself because she’s too nervous to actually kill anyone and when she does she feels like they’ll take it personally. If she doesn’t out herself directly then she just sabotages for her partner and waits for someone to notice her so she can tap out. She’s the reason Kaito is so paranoid about tasks because before him, she was the one who would handle things with whoever else was available but when Himiko jammed O2 everyone was convinced she’d handle it with whoever else was closest. Her best imposter pair is Maki or Kokichi! Those two are the quickest with their killings so Himiko feels more at ease playing support knowing that her partner is so capable.
Kaede Akamatsu: As a crew mate she gets on everyone’s backs about their task completion. She tries to partner people up with each other but Kokichi always refuses because it’s a guaranteed way to screw the imposters. She’s usually one of the last to die when Shuichi is the imposter and she hardly sees him all game, but feels terrible calling him out about it so she only starts accusing him when she directly notices something or when the crew mate count is getting dangerously low. As an imposter no one ever suspects her and she uses it to her advantage. She usually builds up trust with Himiko and Kaito early on in order to backstab them later after they’ve “cleared” her. Kokichi is usually the first person to call her out in meetings only for Kaito to defend her and deflect back to Kokichi. Shuichi and Maki are the next to suspect her but by that time one of those three is usually dead leading the others to suspect the knowing survivors. Her best imposter pair is Shuichi! While Kaede is quick to build good faith with the crew Shuichi is quick to cast suspicions on the crew mates who are suspicious of either of the pair.

Just because I really wanna know what you'd do for me 😂 I'ma do 💜
Okay, okay, so, I'ma Hufflepuff (whooo)
I haveee 4 sister's and 2 brother's (kill me now)
I am allergic to Cats and Dogs so if I end up single, I can't be a crazy cat lady or a cool dog lady, I have to be a weird fish lady
Aaaand I'm 6'2 (ugh it's so hard to find a tall guy)
omg im learning so much about you lmao
signifigant other: this was a hard pick but I'm going to pair you up with Fred Weasley! One, he's tall whooo, two you are so fucking horny like so fucking horny oh my god and he can match that energy. So not only are you two sexual deviants you provide him with an alibi half the time, many nights you will be sat doing homework in the Hufflepuff common room when Fred burts begging for cover. You ground him a lot, he doesn't think things out and can get tunnel vision and just gets stuck in this endless whirlpool of anxious thoughts and you are able to snap him out of it with an easy sollution. His favorite joke is that you should have been put in Ravenclaw, just for the amount of times you have thought up a simple solition to a problem he was brewing on.
"Fred what are you doing here?" "What do you mean? I've been here this whole time." "Yeah, everyone is gonna beleive you have been doing homework with me when you're dripping with sweat." "We could always say we were doing... other stuff." "Fred!"
best friend: Luna Lovegood! I just feel like it works you know, often times you can be found sat in the courtyard talking with her. Everything that comes out of her mouth going completely over your head but its fun. And two weeks later you will be laying in bed and thinking about what she said and it will suddenly click, something with a whole philosophical meaning and everything and the next time you bring it up to her she has absolutely no clue what you mean.
"Hey Luna, what's on your mind?" "I've found that lately my shoes are never tied, its like I'm always tripping over my laces." "Luna you’re wearing sandals." "Exactly."
ex: Dean Thomas! And you didn’t end on good terms. You are civil now but at the time when you two broke up every room you were in everyone was either scared or amused. Ginny started asking the house elves in the kitchen to make popcorn and placed bets on who would break up with who. You ended up ending things with him, realizing after awhile you just didn’t like him like you used to and you had both become something you didn’t want to be. Last Christmas he gave you a scarf and a long letter explaining his regret on how he handled things. You two are slowly rebuilding your friendship now.
“Hey, do you want to get some tea sometime? Also I’m sorry.”  “Yes, and Dean you don’t need to apologize every time we talk.”
first kiss: Ginny Weasley! We are aware she is a bad bitch but one thing we didn’t realize is that she is also extremely adept. She knew Fred liked you far before either of you realized. Fed up with his whining about how Dean was such a horrible person and how ‘no I don’t like her I’m just stating a fact’ she got up, marched over to you, grabbed your face and laid one on you. (You and Dean hadn’t properly kissed, only cheek smooches.)
“Hey Ginny. What’s-” “Ginny get your hands off of her!”  “Gin, what’s was that for.”  “My dear brother Freddie likes you.”  “Don’t be daft.”  “I’m not! Based on the way he’s looking at me right now he is none too pleased I kissed you.” “That doesn’t mean anything.”  “If it doesn’t then how come he cares so much?”
secret admirer: Cedric Diggory! He has been in love with you for yearrrrrrs. But -and no offense Ced- he is a pussy. You two are pretty good friends and he is too tariffed of ruining it (and Fred). Occasionally when he is feeling extra lonesome he slips flowers into your bag when you aren’t looking. You don’t know who they are from, but think the gesture is super cute and assume it’s Fred.
“Hey there Ced, working on quidditch strats?” “Yeah, the usual.”  “Nerd.”

--
He should have thought this through just a bit more, but there simply wasn’t enough time.
Shoot me in the arm, he’d told him, right after refusing to go with them.
It was a wound that wouldn’t be too serious; one he could still walk away from without impeding his own ability to protect himself. One that would provide him alibi for helping the three escape.
Hux had been shot in the leg instead, the suddenness and surprise dropping him to the floor as much as the pain itself. He was outraged in the first second, then considered the next that this would surely play better in solidifying his innocence as part of his cover.
That’s when he realized the wound was bleeding. Profusely.
They’d taken him with them for that fact, a trail of blood in their wake as he could do little to defy the pilot’s arm around his waist with the pain of the wound in his thigh.
Was this technically a kidnapping? Did it even matter? If he kept bleeding the way he was, it would no longer be a problem.
He was half in Poe Dameron’s lap on the floor of the cockpit, the man putting pressure on the wound with his hands over Hux’s own. They’d made the jump to lightspeed already, but they’d taken far too long to see to Hux’s injury. The blood-loss was severe, even with the paltry supplies from the ship’s med-kit staunching the wound.
The white bandaging and trauma-kit was really only a quick-fix, but Hux needed real medical attention.
“Rey, we gotta hurry! He’s lost too much blood!”
“We’ll be there soon.”
Hux had his eyes shut against the pain, grimacing as Dameron’s hand pressed harder into his leg. It woke him up a bit, but he was dizzy; disoriented. The way he was sort of propped up sideways in the man’s lap only made him spin more, not to mention the indignity.
He leaned back hard until he could feel durasteel behind him. It didn’t help with his sense of orientation. Confusion mixed with the surreality of his situation as the world spun around him, and Hux made a noise of pain.
The pain was real at least. Solid. It jolted through his consciousness and grounded him at the point where the other man’s hand pressed into the wound. He was cold-- or at least he was shaking- and so much was going on it was becoming harder and harder to focus. He wished he could block out the sound like he could his vision.
“Are they tracking us?”
“I don’t think so. We got out of there quick enough.”
He wished they wouldn’t talk so much. If he had to die here, he wanted it to be quiet. At least the arm around his back steadying him was warm. That was some small modicum of comfort to the reality of bleeding out on an old freighter in the enemy’s arms.
Was he the enemy still, though? Hux wasn’t sure. He was a traitor, probably. He was becoming less sure with every beat of his heart. Blood loss, his brain supplied again. Kriff.
“...I didn’t mean to hit an artery.”
The wookie growled something Hux was certain was rude. He didn’t care. At least the traitor’s voice had sounded slightly regretful of his actions. It made morbid satisfaction rise in Hux; that he’d be affected by Hux’s death in some way. Maybe Hux’s actions had helped them even more than he’d assumed.
His smile came out a grimace.
“I know.” The arm at Hux’s back shifted, and the fingers on his leg adjusted. “Shit he’s pale.” He winced and hissed as more pressure was applied to his thigh. “You hang in there, Hugs.”
Hugs. Yeah, that’s who was holding him. The pilot who’d once humiliated him, but that he was fairly sure had been his contact this whole time.
Dying on the floor with Poe Dameron’s hands on him, what a fate. That was a better death than he expected from this life, if he were being entirely honest with himself. The nickname, though, he was still prickled by, and alive enough to voice his opinion on such matters.
Hux opened his eyes with a feeling of annoyance that was quickly replaced with a sudden acute awareness of the man holding him.
He couldn’t remember anyone being this close to him that wasn’t somehow threatening in nature. The care in his body language alone was loud and obvious. Striking. And he could see Dameron’s stubble; lines at the corners of his eyes from smiling; the way the man’s brows were knit together as he concentrated on keeping Hux’s hand sealed under his own, fingers flexing.
The expression on Dameron’s face was one of genuine, open concern, which was also distracting to Hux’s nearly-drunken state of mind. It was getting harder to think. He couldn’t remember what he was annoyed about. If the damn room would stop spinning, he might be able to. The longer he looked at the other man’s face, though, the longer it didn’t matter.
Poe’s eyes locked on Hux’s, the dazed look there worrying as Hux retracted one of his hands from beneath Poe’s own. Still strong enough to move his limbs. That was minorly reassuring. Maybe he wouldn’t die. Poe gave his hand a squeeze. They were both still sticky with his blood. “You still with me buddy?” BB-8 beeped a warning about Hux’s blood-pressure. He nodded to the droid before looking from Hux to the cockpit. “I know. Rey, how far are we?”
“Ten minutes out. How are you doing back there?”
Hux’s hand began to rise of its own volition as he stared up at the other man holding him. He’d never had this, had he? Someone touching him kindly with genuine concern for his well-being. A firm hand over one of his own, skin-to-skin and warm and real.
Was it real? Was he already hallucinating?
He wasn’t so far gone that his logic was, though. It was more likely that he’d been left to bleed out in the hall, and this was all some hopeful fantasy before his brain starved of oxygen and he died. He’d definitely rejected Dameron’s offer to come with them-- the way the man’s face had fallen, that had been the source of this hallucination in a cockpit, surely- and he’d been shot in the leg instead of the arm like he’d asked. Probably some petty revenge for rejecting the offer. Only it had gone wrong.
And now he was bleeding to death, left in that corridor as they made their escape, but thinking he was in the arms of a man who’d once mocked him, being spirited to safety.
That sounded much more plausible, his brain supplied. This was war. These things happened. And if he was hallucinating this badly, then he’d probably be dead before long.
It didn’t matter if this was real or not, then, his brain also reasoned.
“...Dameron?” Hux spoke softly, looking at the pilot’s face and wondering how his stubble might feel. Would it feel real for the hallucination? Like the hand on his or the thigh at his back? His vision kept getting splotchy, questioning his own coherence and grip on reality.
The pilot was looking at him now, at least. And that opened up a whole new world of things for Hux to be distracted by.
“What is it?” Poe wasn’t going to ask if he was okay-- he obviously was not- but he was encouraged that Hux still had a voice. It was breathy, but if the general was still coherent and awake-- and knew who he was- then he was still okay. His eyes were glassy and his face was pale, but he only had to hang on a bit longer. Poe had Hux’s attention, anyways. The man’s gaze was locked on his own in focus. “Speak to me, Hugs.”
Hux’s fingers made contact with his jaw first, and Poe realized as the other man’s palm bloomed on his cheek, that he was being touched. Caressed. Poe was confused only a moment before realization took him, and he felt heat enter his cheeks at the craziness of it all.
This was hardly the time to get excited over anything, let alone the delirious touches of a man dying in his arms. Yet here the general of the First Order was-- their spy; a man Poe had secretly been fantasizing about for over a year since he’d had his suspicions on that- actually caressing his cheek.
Hux dragged the pad of his thumb over Poe’s jaw to his chin, feeling it with a sort of unrepentant grin as the pilot’s brows raised. His glassy gaze was locked with Poe’s own. “...You have beautiful eyes.”
Poe’s mouth hung open just a bit. That was certainly unexpected, and this was absolutely not the time to be super flattered by that, even if he could feel his face heating with a little more than concern. From what they knew about the general, and Poe’s own interactions and guesses, this was the last thing he expected. Being called scum by the man was normal. This?
This was… exactly out of some of his dirty fantasies where he got to play the hero and save the day. Poe was trying to save his life, doing his best to that end, but-- General fucking Hux? in his lap and stroking his cheek and saying he was beautiful?
“Shit he’s dying!”
Hux let his arm drop back to his lap, dizzy for the loudness and proximity of Dameron’s alarmed voice and how the man changed his hold on him. Hux was annoyed again, and it was hard to keep track of things. He was pretty certain that he was going to black out with the way his vision kept tunneling, and he was entirely dependent upon Dameron keeping him upright at that. The only thing he was able to focus on was keeping his hand on his thigh which was still soaked in blood.
The man above him was exchanging worried tones with the others as Hux fought to keep his consciousness. The droid beeped shrilly, and Dameron’s hands both squeezed his arm as he spoke some kind encouragement that was hard for Hux to follow in this state.
He thoroughly wished they’d all be quiet and let him die in peace.
