Tumblr feels so perfect, less anxiety and less encouragement to chase for attention, more art and cool stuff, more freedom to share my thoughts.
I want to use this instead of the birdsite now. Though, Bluesky is my second choice and I will be there too. I know I said at first that I wasn't interested too much in using Tumblr, but on the other hand, I just feel at home here.
honest question is tumblr being held at gunpoint to make these updates. no joke I have not seen a website update this frequently when it comes to looks & UI.
Something I deeply appreciate in Shuuji's and Aoi's corruption arcs is the element of dramatic irony present—as in, they seemingly reach the would-be answer to their arcs but in a twisted way.
This doesn't quite apply to Ryo, although there's a certain "corruption" to his traits— his high sensitivity to others' moods almost exclusively serves to fuel his paranoia and cement his negative beliefs about how others percieve him (whether accurate or not).
Shuuji, on the other hand, has at the crux of his struggles the desire to adhere to external expectations of his behavior in order to fit in his family. He does reach that point where he gets fed up of trying to live up to such high standars (after reliving the trauma over and over) and wants to prove himself capable on his own merits —which will also be a big directive in his Truthful arc. But in the vanilla route, it's extremely destructive because he lacks that crucial step of questioning his ideals and asking himself what kind of person he actually wants to be; instead, he seeks to get back at the people who looked down on him. His acts are completely consumed by his deep-seated anger and self-loathing instead of something stemming from him finally extending grace to himself through accepting the berating and belittling weren't warranted and that there's worth in the traits he loathes so much.
In Aoi's case, the straightforward answer to her arc is for her to become more assertive, since one of her central struggles is being taken advantage of due her work ethic and poor boundaries stemming from her troubles speaking up and standing up for herself. So, her embracing more of her aggressive side and exerting the power inherent to her social positions is actually present in her positive character growth too, but the ethos present in Wrathful is completely twisted and selfish. She doesn't grow to embrace a more flexible view on social hierarchy and acceptable behavior that'd allow her to rely on other people, au contraire, she digs her heels in her rigid worldview and traditional values and tries to enforce them unyieldingly. Her own self loathing is resolved in an arrogant and chilling way; in contrast to Moral's down-to-earth, subdued answer, she has a really arrogant and self-aggrandizing view of herself and her values in Wrathful (it's a treat to me).
I love the way Survive places as much emphasis on the "journey" as in the "destination" for those two... Just applying a simple-minded answer doesn't work out, there's a lot of nuance to their arcs that can make piecing together the themes in their affinity dialogues very rewarding.
