the clock struck midnight, but the stack of papers was still tall.

he was used to staying up late, taking care of his duties. with idol work stacking in top of his usual workload, there was simply no more time during the day.

but he wasn’t used to his phone sounding so late into the night. a blue light flared from across the room, breaking his concentration. he doesn’t usually receive texts during the night–it must be important, in that case. to satisfy his own curiosity as well, he dragged his feet towards the shelf. the notification was still fresh on his screen.

it didn’t take long for him to respond.

▹ did something happen? you are always welcome. if you would like, i can send a driver to pick you up. it is late.

▹ no. i’m on my way already.

tsukasa remained concerned. your vague messages had him chewing on his fingernails. something must’ve happened for you to seek his home so late at night. come to think of it, your texts lacked the usual flavor. you wrote your messages soullessly. he found himself waiting at the window at the front of the estate–waiting for you to pop up. a part of him hoped that you were just in a hurry, and everything was alright. you would pop up with a pretty smile, and you would spend the night together and you would watch some movies, as couples do after long days.

when he looked down at his phone’s screen again, he found that wish unlikely to be fulfilled.

between his thoughts, he heard a knock by his side. hurriedly, he tossed his phone on the nearest surface, skipping towards the door. it must be you–yet when tsukasa practically ripped the door open, he wasn't sure if it was really you anymore.

sure, your features were the same. but despite your eyes being directed towards him, he couldn’t feel you looking at him. your hand was still raised from where you knocked, fingers running a purplish-red from the frosty winter air. he felt his own hands go cold when he looked at you. something seems to have been treating you unwell, and it left a bitter taste in his mouth. he didn’t like that on you–that drained, soulless stare.

with a shake of his head, he stepped aside, ushering you in with a wave of his hand. he had a hunch of what happened, but he couldn’t just guess. he’ll get to the bottom of it. a smile suits you way better. he’ll make sure to see you smile again.

“may i interest you in a cup of tea? it may help you warm up.”, he suggested, shutting the door after you. “i believe i haven’t emptied the kettle yet, so if you desire, i shall warm you a cup of chamomile.”

little bubbles danced at the bottom of the pot, the sweet scent of chamomile warming up the kitchen. it soothed the tense atmosphere just a little bit. the night was pitch-black outside, cold and ruthless. if not for the candle-lights, you wouldn’t even be able to see your own hands in such a grand house. the room was cloaked in silence, except for the sounds of dripping wax and a boiling kettle.

a generous cup of tea was served to you on a little plate, accompanied by a sugar caster and a tiny pan of honey. the white porcelain reflected orange light. tsukasa sat down next to you, his own unfinished cup set aside. “would you like to talk? your concerns are my concerns as well. don’t feel pressured, however.”, he spoke up. his hand shyly reached for yours, encasing it in warmth. “whatever you’re feeling, whatever struggle you have trouble conquering, i assure you, is well founded. if you cannot master it alone, i, as your knight, will try to be of help. you are always welcome to seek me out.”

the clock soon struck three in the morning. the stack of papers was still big, but tsukasa had more important things to tend to. all kinds of games were strewn around his room on the fluffy duvets thrown onto the floor, books and movies tossed into all corners. it was dark, but now the moon revealed itself, throwing a shine of blue into the room. even the dust has settled down–there was no sound, no move, except for the faint ticking of the grandfather clock down the hallway.

he couldn’t see a lot, but he could see you sleeping soundly right next to him. you looked peaceful, and that was all he could ever want.

tsukasa would sell his soul if it meant that he can see you just as peaceful the next day.

HI, I don't know is my misjudgment or not, but I felt that yandere haikyuu boys have more love than the yander tokrev boys. Can I assume that most characters in tokrev (expect Kazutora lol) do not love the reader?

not necessarily. i'll be the first to admit that the last bonten fic was BLEAK but it is kind of hard to compare characters from both fandoms as a whole. for the most part i tend to write haikyuu fics in more or less the same universe it's set in. as in, yes the characters are darker but they're still volleyball players/uni students/people with regular jobs. on the other hand both times i've written for tokrev it's been in universe as well – and those characters have fucked up lives.

even if i change very little in regards to their characteristics, by the time the bonten gang is formed down that timeline mikey's all but gone off the rails, all the characters are established as ruthless killers – their base characters are just a lot darker and have a lot more baggage. can they still love the reader in the same obsessive way? sure. but just by nature of their backstories and what they've been through and who they become that 'love' is gonna come out in very different ways.

Will you write some fics which have yandere kenma in the future?

i'm not gonna say no... but not likely. or if i do it would be with kuroo because while i adore kenma to pieces he's not someone i'm super excited to write for solo

ok but who in bonten would be like the best/worst to be around from to the depths,, like based on my very limited knowledge i thought that kakucho would be maybe not as sadistic as some of the others but based on one of the other asks,,,

koko can be loving when he's not jealous. kakucho isn't as sadistic as the twins but that doesn't mean he won't fuck you till you bleed when he's pissed off about something. sanzu's a wild card and honestly you're never gonna be perfectly comfortable around him. the twins are... like that. and mikey is well, at this point basically unhinged so good luck with that one :)

I’m just thinking deranged Bonten!Mikey who gets his darling taken from him. It was a rival, someone who wanted to hurt him. Bad. You were locked in his penthouse while he and the executives went out for a meeting. Guards he trusted were left to watch you, members who had been in his gang since the early days. He was wrong to trust them. You weren’t there when he got back, neither were the guards. Mikey thought you had somehow escaped. He started to lose his shit, until he saw the message that was left behind. He eventually found you, him and the executives. Bloodied. Beaten to a pulp. About to be executed. Remember the deranged part? Yeah. They are gonna wish they never took you. The guards, no matter how big their bribe was to sell you out, there won’t be a place far enough for them that Mikey won’t find them.

of course, he enables your hobby with all he can! ebooks? got the best reader out there right now, honey. hardbound books? guess what’s being carted into the penthouse. love writing letters? cool, what kind of stationery do you need, babe? 

he falls even deeper in love with every letter you write him. so write him a lot, won’t you? he appreciates every little touch you make to make the letter even just a little bit more brighter for whoever will read it, and if he’s gone away for a mission or a trip he always has one with him to read and sometimes just hold when he misses you.

if you make him something yourself he’s always low-key bragging about it to anyone close enough to him. like if you cooked him a little bento to bring to a chill day at work, he’d be sitting outside some sort of balcony just nose-up like “you see this? they made this for me. do you get any lunchboxes? no? that’s cause i’m special. that’s cause they’re special.” (the only person he’d ever directly brag about it to is probably kouyou, maybe the black lizards, but to everyone else... turn green with envy looking over.)

lots of quiet dates for the two of you! of course, if you’re up to going to somewhere like a rave or an amusement park he’d gladly bring you, but oftentimes it’s in quieter places where you guys spend your dates. out at the park, by the portside, aquariums, a local cafe... you name it. he just enjoys relishing in your presence without the excess of everything else. you’re such a quiet, calming presence to him that he loves to bask in it.

the moment he discovers you are one for physical touch that’s the end of it for you! chuuya’s not a man of much words. ...well that’s a lie, he talks a lot, but he has a hard time putting his feelings into words often. knowing he can rely on touch to convey what he wants to, and that you will still receive the message clearly, is a weight off his shoulders. 

your genuine concern whenever he comes home even the littest bit injured actually leaves chuuya... very flustered. he hasn’t had anybody fret over him like that before, not since he came to the mafia. kouyou took care of him but there was always an air of distance between them. and port mafia clinics are cold and clinical. but to come home to you gasping and “chuuya?! oh no, what’s happened to you this time...” he’s so thankful and grateful but also embarrassed at getting in trouble.

chuuya has a fixation on your hands. there’s something about it that’s just magical, he knows, and he will absolutely adore the hell out of them. these are the hands you use to tenderly flip through the pages of your beloved books; these are the hands that make his delicious lunches and all those handmade little things; these are the hands that patch him up; these are the hands that put him back together. he’s always kissing your hands to show how much he adores what they do.

overall, i think you’re going to be a great, more domestic kind of partner to chuuya, one he actually needs to balance himself out! he loves that he can be the loud to your quiet, and he can urge you out of your shell the same way you pat him down to calmness. a really good match if you ask me!
