i need a second to talk about how insanely creative and focused childe must be when he's using his vision, in the sense that he's molding water at his will? that is constantly flowing water he's wielding as weapons. it runs so fast that it seems nearly solid, sharp enough to cut through enemies. what makes this especially interesting to me is that one of the ways a diamond is cut is an extremely high pressure water jet. that's how sharp water can be when used in the right hands. childe's hands. hand in hand with the fatality of a vision and delusion? his enemies would be cut in the cleanest ribbons if he wished for it.

& the fact that he's able to shift between different forms of weapons in a blink of an eye? to me, it speaks volumes of how intimately he understands his skillset. how he's able to imagine the shape of the weapon he wants in a blink. from a spear, to dual blades, to a sword, to a bow, to infusing his arrows with rays of water—really, just whichever one is convenient to him in the moment. you'll literally never see his blows coming.

addendum: also i'm gonna say for now that the reason why his scarf is engulfed in water is that it acts as a flexible armor to protect him from blunt attacks front and back, one he can move at well. it mostly just helps soften blows rather than completely protecting him. which is a conscious choice, he lives dangerously and practically dares his opponents to land hits on his weak spots—if they can, that is
