How we feeling about that trailer!? I actually shed tears when I saw Cody and Crosshair together in the new trailer. I am excited. Ofc disappointed about the continuation of white washing and all that, but I’ve been geared up on Star Wars again after andor and this trailer gave me a serotonin boost.

do you know what pisses me off the most about the bad batch (other than they bad writing and ableism)? I know for a fact that they can unwhitewash their clones. I know Disney can do it right. And do y’all know how I know?

That’s how I know. The model isn’t perfect, I know. Star Wars still refuses to make models with dark brown eyes for some bizarre reason I can’t understand. “oh but that’s rebels, TCW/TBB has a different style-” shut the fuck up. I know they can do better, BECAUSE THEY HAVE ANOTHER MODEL BASED OFF A MAN WHO HAS SIMILAR FEATURES TO TEMURA MORRISON.

that is Captain Typho, and his model is based off his actor Jay Laga’aia, who is Samoan. He still retains his soft features, dark skin, and wider nose, and he fits beautifully into TCW’s art style.

Disney has the ability to make it right. They choose not to.

Because the Bad Batch’s designs are so unique I decided to make reference sheets for them, which kinda turned into headcanon fanart and then sort of redesigns? I will always stay mad that everyone except Wrecker are whitewashed in their skin colours and facial features.

Am I excited about tbb s2? Yes. Am I going to watch it? Most likely.

I love this show, I love the characters.

But it has so many issues, most especially the racism.

I am a white person who loves Star Wars. I will not be able to understand how it feels to have my culture misrepresented or harmfully portrayed or shoved to the side.

But I can use my privilege to speak out on how it is harmful. I do not want to stop enjoying Star Wars, but I want people to see the issues it has. @unwhitewashthebadbatch has brilliant resources and posts about this. Please check them out.

If you are white, lift up BIPOC voices discussing this. Use your own voice to educate white people online and offline about this. Star Wars needs to be better.
