It’s a modern AU. All the TBB members as army veterans who used to serve in a same unit, and now live together in the sub urban near Washington D.C.

All of them take different career paths after returning home. Echo works as an assistant in a veteran support group, he also carries the duty to take care Hunter’s adopted daughter while Hunter is out for a business trip.

He is the only family member who knew how to feed kid with healthy and delicious meals.

...... the bottom line is, I just want to draw Echo with apron and egg beater. XD and of course, the egg beater was designed by Tech. To make Echo’s life easier after a critical battle injury, Tech made several prosthesis parts for Echo to handle house works.

The Bad Batch is slowly growing on me.

I still find the stylistic choices for their design kind of grating, but I wanted to try drawing them with at least something of a passing resemblance to one another while staying sort-of within the bounds of that design. Surprisingly fun exercise!

- In the beginning, I was planning to design a nice tattoo for Hunter.

There is a headcanon that Hunter has a skeleton tattoo covers all of his left side body. I understood that people have this idea because of his face tattoo, but I wanted to design more details about it. Tattoo is a personal thing, like a declaration on the body, so what will Hunter try to declare with his body tattoo? What he would want to achieve? After watching the season 2 trailer, I think freedom will be something he holds dearly. He put his team logo on his face because the team is his family and first priority, but freedom is his dream. I looked into some tribal tattoo reference and thought I would give him a nice simple wing tattoo to symbolize freedom, and with a ribs design to go with his face tattoo.

- and then I didn’t want him to stand stiffly in this image, that would be no fun, so I searched about “SW character, half naked, besides princess Leia’s golden bra” and ta-da-! A bacta tank. Bacta tank is a interesting item, your favor character is vulnerable and lose consciousness, and you put him/her inside a fish tank, put a nice lighting, watching the wounded character floats like a pretty mermaid. LOL

- So, put Hunter into a Bacta tank, then I had to draw some open wounds on his body, tried to make some sense for the scene, but not too bloody for our eyes. I once searched “bullet wound” for art references and I regretted.

-I spent several nights on this image, but my original purpose was only to design a tattoo. LOL Oh well, I had fun.
