So, as many of you know, we are currently in Oslo, Norway. 🇳🇴 But the question is, why are we here? Well, isn’t that obvious? We are visiting all the iconic & historical Black Metal places & sights. 🤘🏽
We started today by visiting the National Library of Oslo to see the Bad Vibes exhibition. Let me tell you, this is one exhibition we would encourage any Black Metal fan to visit. It has the first pressings of Mayhem’s groundbreaking album, Deathcrush & Darkthone’s Under The Funeral Moon. It also has some handwritten letters by Per Yngve "Pelle" Ohlin (Dead). And the icing on the cake is the original door from Helvete, along with lots of original flyers.
There’s so much to see at this exhibition & it’s free! So, have you been? Do you plan on going? Please be sure to turn on post notifications to see daily uploads of our Oslo trip. 🇳🇴
While we may believe
Our world - our reality
To be that is - is but one
Manifestation of the essence
Other planets lie beyond the reach
Of normal sense and common roads
But they are no less real
Than what we see or touch or feel
Denied by the blind church
'Cause these are not the words of God
The same God that burnt the knowing
Ok, it’s time for the big one! Let’s talk about the 'Inner Circle' & the history of Neseblod Record (formally Helvete). 🤘🏽🇳🇴
The members of the 'Inner Circle' attracted massive media attention when it was revealed that some of its members had been responsible for two murders, a suicide, and a wave of church burnings in Norway. This building has changed hands a few times since the early 90s. It was briefly a coffee shop & I believe the owners were fed up with people asking to go into the basement. 😅
So what remains from the original store?
Photos one & two are obvious! The original 'Black Metal' spray paint I think we all visit the store to see. I believe the third photo is Euronymous’s chair that used to be in the Helvete store. Photos four, five & six are some old advertisements & posters promoting the store and mayhem. Photo seven has a huge DIY Mayhem banner I believe was used for shows in the early 90s. If you look closely you will see some weights & there was even an old bench press rack that Euronymous used to work out. There are also lots of other props including a coffin, 80s skateboards & so much more! This truly is the world's Black Metal Museum. I hope everyone is enjoying these posts so far as there are many more to come! 🤘🏽🇳🇴
