bugs are so cool because most wild animals arent really chill with a human staring at them close up and moving around/doing things, but a lot of bugs will just watch you back. or wiggle around. we love to see it

#bees are a favorite of mine to hang out with #theres tons of mason bees and i think wasps ? they have very long stingers but i dont actually know that much about the different kinds #but theyre all so incredibly chill. any time im picking something in the garden i usually have about ten bees flying around my ankles #the wasps on the other hand hang out by the bird bath #have never seen a bird in it but i fill it up every day because there's almost always a handful of wasps #floating in it and drinking or cooling off or whatever it is theyre doing #makes it a little hard to fill it up tbh because im not going to spray them with water so sometimes i have to wait a few minutes #but recently ! when i stand over there with the hose if there are wasps that were about to go in the water they hover nearby instead #maybe they have realized im about to fill it up ? idk. theyre very chill and friendly though #im glad my venus fly trap is way too small to eat them

The Avengers / Diana Rigg as Emma Peel

Emma wears this dress in several configurations in different episodes: by itself, with a matching jacket, and with a contrasting multicolored jacket. She also wears it with a variety of shoes: white mary janes (I couldn't get a good screenshot), tan slingbacks, and purple slip-ons. The dress itself is quite a basic short sundress with metal rings joining the shoulder straps to the body of the garment.

The darker purple edging outlining the matching jacket reminds me of Julie Andrews' costume from Darling Lili from just a few years later.

I did not realize the boy and the heron was the new ghibli film, I thought that short story where that boy leaves his disabled younger brother to die in a thunderstorm just went viral for no reason at all

#tbh i dont remember if its a heron in that story because i read it in like 4th grade #its some large red bird and the symbolism was lost on me but that kid letting his brother die because he didnt like him was unforgettable #just like that story where everyone lives on venus and a group of kids leave the one outcast girl to die in the acid rain during recess #no context for these stories just the profound impact of the concept of premature death #i feel like for such serious messages these stories tried to teach. i did not understand them very well at all #even though we read them together as a class and discussed them. i dont think i understood any better because of it
