okay but you see sam has ALSO fallen for dean's act. sam also believes dean to be the macho, daddy's soldier, beer boobs cars guy he presents himself as. this is why sam makes fun of dean whenever he even lightly steps out of that mold and thinks it's harmless banter instead of attacking an insecurity. it's why he laughs when john talks down to dean in the early seasons and it's why he seems surprised when dean is more comfortable with himself in the later seasons. it's why he just scoffs but doesn't push it when dean puts up a front and refuses to talk about his emotions and just accepts whatever excuse he makes at face value. it's why he offers dean a strip club to make him feel better when cas dies. and this isn't his fault!! dean has spent a very long time perfecting this image in front of everyone and ESPECIALLY to sam because along with it comes safety and security and stability and the only person. who has consistently been able to see through it. is castiel

Sobbing so hard bc even as wifey, Mizu wore pants, didn't want to wear that pretty kimono and makeup except for the wedding ceremony itself because I'm sure her "mother" made her or to try and soften his heart after their spar. She was her tomboy self, you know? And people are out here putting her in hyper feminine stuff like NO THIS ISN'T BUTCH DEATH THIS IS BUTCH MURDER.
You can be a butch/tomboy and be pretty or have long hair, I do, but like, oooof. It's like when people made Tigress all girly pop like NO. STOP IT PLEASE. LET BUTCHES BE I BEG. She's clearly into utility over anything else, I mean, she wears her stitched up kimono even though she clearly has the means to buy a new one, her tattered, mud soaked little cape thing, etc. The pants she wore horseriding with Mikio even looked like her pants she wore as a man.

you know, an interpretation of ct that I don't see that I personally really love is that she's a fuck up. like yes she's cool and she has some good fight scenes, but a huge part of her character is that she makes mistakes. the mistakes that she makes are ones that on their own aren't the end of the world, but she keeps making these little mistakes, and they eventually add up until she's out of room to make any more.
a really good example of this phenomenon in action is the actions she took leading up to her final confrontation with carolina and tex.
strike one, she thought she saw something in the water, but when asked by the leader what it was, she brushed it off as nothing when even if it had been nothing, it would've been smart to tell him what she thought she saw.
strike two, she didn't sense or notice florida's presence when the leader did, and she looks at the leader twice, once as she pulled out her magnums, and again after she did a scan of the room, almost like she was looking at him for guidance before he finds florida and takes him out with one good axe throw.
strike three, she couldn't convince the leader to leave when they had the chance to get away, and her cheap tricks were not enough to hold off either tex or carolina in a fight. they were only good for incapacitating her opponents enough for her to get away, which doesn't work when she has no escape.
ct is not tex, or carolina, or south. she is not a one woman army who can get herself out of trouble when she's stuck in tough situations. she needs people who can watch her back, she need a team who can cover her when she does mess up, and the leader and his team were not those people. she couldn't bring herself to trust them, and they couldn't bring themselves to trust her, and that cost all of them their lives.

Also! I'm still not convinced that Brennan would make the BBEG of the season a group of literal children, which leaves space for my next theory:
The true (and much sadder) reason none of the Rat Grinders were at Frosty Fair is because they just...didn't care that Ruben was performing.
Because they aren't actually his friends

You know I think there is something interesting to say in terms of where the fuck WxS is going because like
I think WxS is the only unit where the end goal or overall progression is probably the most unknown out of all of them ???
MMJ and VBS are extremely obvious, they both have the most explicit goals that are said to us in a straightforward way
25-ji, in the end we know the main goal at the end will be for all of the characters to go over their hurdles with Mafuyu finally being able to find herself and move forward
Leo/need is probably the closest in terms of vagueness but we know the end goal is clear for them to grow as a band, probably ending in a big concert or something along those lines
But with WxS...like I guess the closest thing I can see to an end goal is all of WxS preparing a show together with everyone playing their part but that definitely doesn't feel like something you'd build up for an entire arc and definitely not something that feels fitting after the emotional turmoil that was the disbandement arc ???
In terms of physical achievements as well they literally revived an entire parc through one gigantic show, so it just comes into question what they can do now.
Then you look at their first few event for this arc considering usually the first event kinda set up what will be planned for the future but it's...weird.
Yeah, Tsukasa and Rui's events set up they're inexperienced and how they will grow in the future but also there is this weird feeling of something feeling off ?
The plays/scripts all are strangely depressing, the play in Tsukasa's event being about a failed writer planning to drown himself (which I believe is one of the only undeniable explicit description of suicide ever in the game?????) and the second being someone whose given up on life meeting their estranged sister only for her to become ill.
We even have Emu's side story in Rui's event where they watched the movie Rin was watching during the event made by the same producer and Emu herself note how depressing the story is (meanwhile the main character of the movie clearly parallels Rui)
We don't see the conclusion of these in-game stories as well, lingering on their worst moment never really seeing the presumably happy conclusion.
THEN we also have Emukasa fes which....again strangely different in tone from what you'd expect a WxS fes card, they're not really all that conclusive either. Tsukasa never aknowledges how he relates to the brother in the story and Emu doesn't really get a conclusion on her grief.
Then we also have Rui's entire fuckign event with the cards and his cyberpunk deadbo-YOU SEE WHAT IM SAYING
The closest we fucking have to knowing what WxS's fucking endgoal towards the story is, is fucking WL which....TELLS US NOTHING
At least with VBS we know that they're goal is to go even further beyond and conquer the whole world, that is a developpement of their goal.
What I'm saying is I don't know what the fuck colorpalet is cooking wiht WxS but I feel like i'm a fucking twilight zone reading the way they're writing WxS now because I can't be the only one feeling insane at how weird all of this is

sylvie screaming as she blasts magic into loki on the ferris wheel. how her shoulder slams into the door when his magic hits her, her emotions running too high to fight back properly the way she has for centuries. her machete shaking as she clenches and unclenches her fist, her voice shaking as she says this is all very familiar, isn’t it. taking steps forward and backward. she cannot let herself stay still, it is all too much, to be rehashing the same fight that drove her and loki apart from her life’s mission. the desperation in i can’t let him live. you think i want to kill him? she asks. you think it brings me pleasure? after her knees buckled underneath her when she killed He Who Remains the first time, after she realized it wasn’t going to ease the pain, why would he think she wants to do it all over again? she sticks by her moral compass as long as she can, doing what she swore she had to in order to ensure the world would have the free will she was denied, until she can’t. until she sees victor begging for his life, begging for a chance to become someone the timeline didn’t decree. and in that she sees herself, her tiny body being grabbed by ravonna and thrown into the TVA, for a crime she has yet to commit. only then can sylvie back away from her single-minded purpose that has kept her burning for so long, and she doesn’t trust herself not to change her mind. it was tactical to say get him away, because at any moment she might realize the gravity of abandoning her life’s work and change her mind. don’t make me regret this is her final warning to loki, who doesn’t bother trying to persuade her to come with him after seeing how firmly she claims to want nothing to do with him. one last lingering look between them.
