a/n: from what I understood you meant reader that's popular at school and is into fashion(?), I hope it's what you wanted and that you'll enjoy it! I also made reader not be an ass, or generally stand up for Gareth and the Hellfire guys, otherwise it would get a bit too angsty

warnings: slight bullying, reader is described to be fem and AFAB but pronouns are they/them

also, don't worry about your English, I understood everything perfectly fine!

even before getting to know you Gareth would think you're so pretty

he noticed how you put so much effort into your outfits, make-up, accessories, everything

he always complimented you when he had the chance (mostly when you had to do work together in class or when it was just the two of you. he's shy okay?)

"I really like your necklace." "Your shirt goes really well with those pants."

he always tried to make the compliments very precise and detailed, of course they were always appreciated and you complimented his outfits too

cause okay, we only saw two of his outfits (and with the same flannel) but they were SO GOOD, so I'm saying he has fashion sense

going a bit off course here but I have to add, Gareth and his mom get fashion magazines to judge every single outfit in there together. they have weekly sessions.

anyway, he starts to develop a crush on you. you do too, how could you not after him being so sweet to you and he was so so pretty

you were sat in class when Gareth complimented your dress and before you could thank him, one of the jocks laughed at him

"Aww... you think you've got a chance with them? That's sweet." his heartbeat stopped. this is it, he thought. now you're going to make fun of him and laugh. all the sweet things you said to him were all a cruel joke on him. then you snorted

"Aaww, Andy! Are you jealous Gareth dresses better than you?" you positioned your head into your hands and smiled up at him, waiting for his response. Gareth was shocked at your response

Andy tried to respond but nothing came out of his mouth, he really didn't expect you to stand up for Gareth

"Yeah, exactly. Leave." you then asked the drummer if he was okay and apologized for Andy's behaviour

that's when he fell for you

when you two got together he was scared at first that maybe you didn't want people to find out (he knew he was projecting but the fear was still there of course)

but then on the first morning to school together you held hands with him and kissed him before entering class right in front of everybody

the hellfire club talked about nothing else the entirity of lunch, asking him where, when, how etc.

eventually the whole school knows and of course there's asshole who pick on you two but who cares yk

he does feel a little guilty that people are now annoying you because of him but you tell him you don't care. he even invites you to sit at the Hellfire table, and of course you agree

they're a bit wary at the start, knowing you're popular and all but once they see you defending them, you're good in their book (they will still give you the shovel talk)

anyway, you can drag Gareth to all the stores you want, he'd love to be your personal adviser on what looks good on you or not

also loves when you ask him what accessory would look better with your outfit, it makes him feel special

on that note, he loves matching clothes with you. even if his style isn't your style, you'd find a middle ground, maybe sharing an earring (or getting the same bracelet or ring) or getting the same normal black jacket so you can decorate it in different ways but it's still the same item of clothing (? don't know if I explained it well, sorry)

if you'd want to get into fashion as a career he'd be SO supportive

knows you'll do great, no matter if you become a designer, a seamstress, a model maker etc.

if you ever worry about something being too flashy to wear to school he'd stop you right there and reassure you

"Life is short sugar, wear what you want. A full ballgown. A wedding dressing even, I'd be there holding your 10-feet-long veil for you babe."

even when you're worried something is too revealing, he's there without a second thought telling you to go for it

"And if someone gives you trouble for it, I'll beat them up."

"Gareth, we both know you're not very good at that."

"Won't stop me from trying!" then he'll kiss you. because he loves you.

I was also thinking of writing a drabble/short fic of their meeting scene I described earlier, tell me if you'd be interested in reading it!
