The fact that Main-verse Ooo is as good and as kind as it is (relative to the other universes shown so far, at least, it's obviously not perfect) all because of the same character that starts off as the OG series' antagonist, the person we were made to see as the bad guy (albeit an often ineffectual one) for several seasons, is making me lose my mind.
Imagine finding out the guy you spent your childhood beating up and saving princesses from is in fact a driving catalyst behind you being able to exist, and not only exist but also live in a world that knows what kindness is. All because that man, the same man who you've witnessed do terrible things, once met a little girl and taught her how to be good.
Simon's story really shows us that even if you lose your way and forget how it is to be good yourself, the world keeps the memory for you. That act of love Simon showed Marcy by protecting her and seeing her as more than the monster she thought herself to be created ripples upon ripples, small at first but eventually enough to help give their wreckage of a world—a world that easily could have been forsaken, its goodness overlooked because of its inhospitable remains—a chance to grow into something beautiful. Because of those very same ripples Simon created, the people of Ooo grew up in a world where they know enough about kindness that they were able and willing to spare the 'bad guy' some, to see beyond the wreckage and allow him to grow too.
In saving Marceline, Simon helped to not only to save the world, but also himself.

when Kiriona says to Crux: "“Good. Die. Die for [Harrow] … it’s the only goddamn good you’ll ever do for her. It's all any of you ever knew how to give her. You could have lived for her … but you didn’t know how.”
this is it, isn’t it? Gideon calls herself out and lays bare something this entire series has been built on: love as consumption, as sacrifice, as a fucking forest fire and a nuke: "you have not yet seen the horrors of love"
Gideon dies for Harrow because she thinks it’s all she can do. Harrow sacrifices her selfhood and her mind and every memory of Gideon, because she cannot conceive of a universe without her. Camilla and Palamades die for each other because they cannot bear to be apart, the idea of the perfect love twisted into a mutual death. John loves the world so much that he ate it. destruction and revenge and cannibalism as the ultimate expressions of devotion.
the D in devotion stands for dead.
and obviously, that is all incredible and extremely thought provoking and sexy, but..... Kiriona names the one avenue of love that this series has not yet really explored: what if you lived for someone instead of dying for them.
i’m thinking of Abigail and Magnus, in the river bubble, telling Harrow to live for Gideon instead of dying for her. i’m thinking about how Ianthe loves Coronabeth so much and refuses to eat her, refuses to consume her, leaves her abandoned and sobbing but alive. i’m thinking about Blood of Eden’s founding protocol, the one that supersedes all others: the order to live.
Kirona has named it, but how does she earn it -- how does Harrow earn it? narratively speaking. anyway... even if AtN doesn’t end up exploring this i am turning it all around in my head.

Okay so the words he mouthed in that one clip is "One day you're going to die" Which is a lyric to Memento Mori [another ww song]
Which first of all, means that Memento Mori is very likely one of the next songs in the power hour
And second, all the bits referenced in Nerd are fully there! Red being one he did in the past [or what he was doing at that moment with the Cage line] & Green being references to the next two power hours after it
But then like, whats the last power hour???? Cos there's no more lyrics that are referenced I don't think?
[Insane theory ramblings in the tags v]

Gimme a new Hellsing anime that combines the og anime and the ova/manga, and the animation is done by the ones who've done the Castlevania series. The scene of Seras going blood crazy for the first time? Alucard vs Anderson or Incognito? Seras vs The Captain? The attack on Hellsing manor and Seras becoming a true vampire? The attack on London? Everything?
Please. Please, I need to see this happen.

okayokayokay... hear me out. Barbie Fairytopia AU where everything is the same, except the necklace the Enchantress gave Elina didn't give her wings, she instead got the power of Magic Footsteps.
[ID: a digital art sketch of the characters Dandelion and Elina from Barbie Fairytopia running/flying through a field of flowers. Dandelion is a slender fairy with long pigtails, a skirt made of dandelion fluff and petals, and pixie wings fluttering behind her, orange and white sparkles trailing behind her as she flies excitedly by Elina. Elina is a taller, likewise slender fairy but, diverging from canon, she doesn't have wings and is instead running on glittering, magical, platforms that appear wherever she steps, while Dandelion flies beside her. She's wearing a dress with a layered, rose-petal skirt, with a sleeveless top with two petal-like decorations that trail off her shoulders. Her hair is in a low bun. The two are looking at each other and smiling. /END ID]
