ok, so i’ve been thinking about the whole food/love symbolism in house, (i’m not sure who the first person to mention this symbolism was, but i love them so much. if anyone knows please mention them!!!) and there's one more specific element that i want to overanalyze, so just bear with me for a moment; there were four people that directly interacted with house when he was cooking in wilson's apartment (episode 3 season 6): cuddy, thirteen, wilson, and a random lady from the cooking class house and wilson took together. and i feel like these four best represent how house's love is spread. just hear me out for a second you guys.
first, you have cuddy. she comes to house and he happens be cooking; however, she never tastes the food he’s preparing. they love each other, he has love FOR her, but it's never the right time for them. (house and cuddy have such an insane and doomed relationship that i don’t think i quite understand myself tbh).
for the random lady, she's cooking *with* house when cuddy is there. this one isn’t as clean/sensible as the others, but i’m sure at least one person will get what i’m trying to say or be able to word this better. house has a certain level of understanding and care for others/strangers, but on a very grudging level. his love isn't necessarily made just for them, they'll never know the depth or spontaneity of it, and they'll never know what it means like the people close to house do.
with wilson, wilson wakes up to house cooking. house shoves the food in wilson's face, not listening to a word that wilson has to say. and wilson just goes with it! and i believe that it’s around here that house admits that he stayed up all night cooking because he was in pain, but i could be wrong. if that is the case though, that just ties into the whole idea that all of house’s strongest emotions are directly tied to his pain, all of his actions are fueled by his pain, which makes his love even more insane if you think about it. (i wish i was as eloquent as some of the other house fans on here when talking about this stuff but i only ever think about it when half-awake).
and lastly, there's thirteen. she visits house to ask for advice. and you see how precise he's being with the cooking. i don’t remember quite what he was making, something to do with chicken embryos or yolks, and extracting some of the yolk to squeeze sauce in there, something along those lines. pretty precise stuff. and thirteen tries it and says that it's the best thing she's ever eaten. quick and positive interaction.
so. we only see *two* people eat his food in this episode. two people who know what his love is like: wilson, the man that house depends on to even exist, and thirteen, basically the only character that (at this point in the show) has a chance of understanding house’s suffering, to some degree (house dreading the pain that comes with simply existing, knowing each day will be filled with pain, thirteen dreading every day, knowing that her huntingtons can only get worse and one day she’ll lose control).
also, this isn’t to say that house doesn’t/hasn’t loved other characters!!! i personally just feel like the relationships he has with wilson, cuddy, and thirteen are some of the most significant on screen relationships we see. (maybe i’m a bit biased because i adore wilson and thirteen, but we’ll ignore that).
anyways. all of this was likely just coincidence, but i don’t quite care! it’s the coincidences that make for the most meaningful portrayal of characters, in my humble (questionable) opinion!

INK DEMON AND BENDY THEORY
Tumblr media
So Bendy's official Instagram account just posted something very interesting, and I want to theorise about it!
For awhile the social media account for Bendy have been doing these posts where Bendy takes a photo of a location from BATDR and steals an item from that location, and people have to guess what he took. I thought it was just an unimportant game to give the social media managers something to do, like Steelwool's 'Guess The Sketch', but now it's actually important.
The picture shows that Bendy built all his stolen items in the shape of his Ink Demon form, with an interesting caption. Some fans have took this post to mean that Ink Demon ordered small Bendy to make a statue of him, but I don't think that's true.
I'm a big fan of the "Bendy is the Ink Demon with the mind of a child, and they are NOT seperate people" theory, and I don't think this post disproves that.
So if you know my past TPOH and FNAF theories, then you know its time for another round of:
SOLAR NEEDLESSLY OVERANALYZING THE GRAMATICAL STRUCTURE OF SENTENCES TO MAKE A THEORY EVEN THOUGH MOST PEOPLE DON'T PAY THAT MUCH ATTENTION TO HOW THEY PHRASE THINGS
Lets dissect this single sentence like a frog!!
"His inner Ink Demon is always on his mind-"
If Joey Drew Studios had phrased this as "IN his mind", then I see how this would be more literal. Meaning that the Ink Demon is a separate entity to Bendy and is literally living IN his mind.
But they didn't, they said "ON his mind". This phrase is usually used more metaphorically. If I'm hungry, I can say that dinner is 'on my mind', but that doesn't mean my dinner is actuallly INSIDE my brain. All this means is that Bendy has been thinking about his memories of his Ink Demon form, and therefore made a statue of him when he looked like that. Possibly to try and communicate his complicated feelings through art, or maybe he collected those specific items almost subconsciously.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Second of all, if the Ink Demon really was ordering Bendy around from inside his mind to make that statue for him, then I don't think it looks right. In BATIM, there are multiple shrines made by followers of the Ink Demon like Sammy, that look more demonic. As you can see, Bendy's statue doesn't look anything like that. Not a candle or pentagram in site! I feel like if this was made by the request of the Ink Demon, it would look way more like the ones from BATIM. But it doesn't! Instead, I think it looks more like it was made by Bendy on his own accord, like a children's drawing.
"His inner Ink Demon-"
Again, Joey Drew Studios decided to take the less-literal more-metaphorical route of this phrasing. If they just said "THE ink demon" then it would imply the Ink Demon as his own separate entity. But saying "inner" when referring to a buried memory of someone's past is not uncommon to do for regular use as well. For example, if I draw cats a certain way then I can say it's my "inner warrior cats fan" coming out. That doesn't mean there's actually a warrior cats fan inside my brain ordering me around, it's symbolic.
"on his mind, searching for an exit."
Tumblr media
This also doesn't disprove my theory. The Keepers technology is preventing him from turning into his Ink Demom form. This means he can't use his powers and is weaker and smaller. It's clear he at least vaguely remembers what the Keepers did to him because of how scared he is of the GENT building.
Since he is in an incredibly hostile environment, it's no surprise he'd be thinking of a time where he wasn't as vulnerable. And he would also be trying to find a way to be strong again, in his own child-like way. Which explains the statue.
Personally, I find this all way more interesting then "rrr ink demon scary rrr", but to each their own.
I have more evidence for my "Bendy is the Ink Demon with the mind of a child, and they are NOT seperate people" theory outside of this instagram description, but I've already written enough for this post. I may make another post about it but we'll see. Please comment if you have anything else to add ^^

lmfao gaylors don't need to twist or overanalyze anything. She's not "secretly" queer. She straight up says it:
And oh look! She did it again in the rep prologue when she said every attribution to a man would be an incorrect theory.
Tumblr media
And what do you know! She did it AGAIN in the Me! lyric vid.
Tumblr media
WAIT THERE'S MORE. What's in the ever loving fuck is this gay-ass shit???
Tumblr media
So, anon, it's "actually pretty gross" that you look at blatant, obvious, deliberate queer flagging and say it's bullshit. And I will call out homophobia whenever and wherever it is called for. Just because you're queer doesn't mean you can't exhibit and experience internalized homophobia.
Taylor has become a billionaire by making a career out of leaving clues to get fans to guess who the songs are about, what the next album will be, what secret message she's trying to convey. She leaves easter eggs everywhere. And she queer flags so fucking hard that you only need eyes and two brain cells to rub together to see it. No one is forcing her to come out. She queer flags to signal, to get people to notice it. Everything she publishes is published for public consumption and we're allowed to talk about it. Pretending we can't see what she's desperately trying to get us to see is no different from shoving queer people back in the closet and saying "SHHH! DON'T ASK DON'T TELL!"

So there's a big chance that Lando is gonna be the next guest for the chicken shop dates interview thing and it's both gonna be so funny but also so messy bc people are gonna overanalyze the shit out of anything he says or does. I mean look at what happened when he literally looked at a fan, all of a sudden he "wanted her so badly" or him showing the sign that said "call me maybe" on his video from land0.mov all of a sudden he's sending "signals" to someone or sending little "messages" or even him being more active all of a sudden means he's interested in someone 🤦🏼‍♀️ so I can't imagine how ridiculous people are gonna be about an interview that is literally about a date and being flirty. It's all gonna be "oh he has no game but still got all those girls wow" ; "look how flirty he is with her he has a crush" it's gonna be so stupid and unnecessary like please just enjoy the video how it's supposed to be enjoyed

F1 hard truth:
Lando Norris’ hardships in basic academics as shown in Grill the Grid isn’t solely the fault for training for F1 and dyslexia but also probably his lack of interest regarding educating himself and/or how he was academically educated growing up.
Because it’s interesting how this argument comes up only when it’s about Norris and sometimes some others too. But all drivers are pretty much average and Verstappen who is known for being the Top 1 at the moment, has a shocking pre F1 victory strike since Karting days (LITERALLY NEVER ARRIVING SECOND!) , countless stories about his hardships with his father coaching him since he was about 3 years old and making F1 all of his life, is often one of the best at these same games.
Fernando Alonso and Sabastian Vettel too.
The truth is that one might not me much intelligent and that’s about it, I completely understand it and struggle with it myself even when I was pushed academically more than my classmates.
But it becomes inexcusable when you don’t know where your country is. Something a 7 year old can do. He, like the others, travel the world as a job, even in their karting days.
We can sympathise with it and him, but don’t make excuses ,come up with theories or put the blame on motorsport. It shows that you are trying to sugarcoat it because you are aware that there’s no defence for it. He’s just … uneducated on basic geography but you don’t want to think about it because you like him. But you don’t have to “unfollow” him because of it. You can still like everything else about him while admitting that it can be better and surely without shaming him!
I believe that formal institutionalised academics are to ensure a certain level is reached. You actually can learn everything alone but of course, can’t or are not allowed to do some things without certification, for everyone’s safety. So it doesn’t make sense that just because someone didn’t complete high school, they are illiterate and completely stupid. As someone who comes from countries with actual illiterate people and is the daughter of one (who is now literate but you can see the struggle when one reached a certain age and the brain has harder times correcting some errors). So please stop theorizing that just because he or other drivers haven’t attended university or maybe have not finished high school, they are uneducated.
Edit: I saw the replies and rechecked my post, you are right and I modified the term. But I want to explain that I did not mean that he is actually stupid. I was just lacking of words and terms to explain what I meant. Now I replaced it with “Uneducated on basic geography” because I know very well he has other theological knowledge that would be hard to me. The “illiterate” part is misunderstood, I meant that as a way to indeed say that I believe the contrary: People can be literate without high school. I added it there because a pet peeve of mine is people actually being convinced that without a minimum of 3 years of university makes you illiterate all of a sudden. It’s a silly mentality to me, and it’s always an ick when a “fan” of him uses this “excuse”. I wanted to be understood but I messed up and I am sorry, but I hope you people understand what I meant in general with the post. I did not make it to shade him or point it out unlike many people in various social medias and comments under these videos;
I made this post to tell people who overanalyze and over-excuse him to just let it be. That’s it. It’s backhanded to put so much energy into this and prove otherwise when it’s plain simple (and other factors could play a role in it too, I know). But some people want to gaslight themselves into thinking that a celebrity of their liking is not as amazing(according to their personal standards and values) as they wish they were. People do this with other celebrities too, pushing the narrative that one is “secretly intentionally chaotic” or the contrary, just an example. People need to accept their celebrities without the guilt for one thing that turns them off. Or at least respect it and not force said narrative. People will gaslight themselves into changing the smallest details about celebrities to “vibe” better with them. Especially females (or maybe I notice it more with them because I am also one?), for example they will make hundreds of posts to show that they appreciate the female star’s natural voice when in reality it’s just simply at its’ deepest. I think it’s tied with the “not like the other girls” preference. Because they act like they have super high pitched voices when they simply are…ladies with an average feminine voice+feminine (sometimes hyper) style and persona. And all feminine things are now being called “cutesy” and childlike. When sometimes they are simply feminine /+and pretty. Because many times they are not even obnoxious at it. You’d think that they are talking about an anime girl voice, but it’s just a lady. They just don’t vibe with her voice and will gaslight themselves that she’s pushing it , ‘but that’s okay to them’.

its a shame your fics dont have more art theyre so good like if I could draw well id probably turn them into picture books. do you wish you had art?
but besides the point I actually have questions and I wanna ask em.
first up, who’s the back up? luffys mentioned the backup a few times and I cant help but wonder who it is. if thats a major spoiler than you dont have to answer but considering your love for this one guy i kinda think its sabo or the rev army. either that or like traffy. it would be funny if it was sabo though because of koby’s brief jealousy of how luffy was talking about him.
this might be just me as an aot fan overanalyzing everything but I feel like that devil fruit in the beginning was something important and so was the auction in broad daylight.
also ive seen a lot of fics where kobys favorite food is buttered potatoes but i think yours is the first where his favorite food is downright plain butter. the guys a psychopath for that. like why would you do that. where did you even get the idea.
I also have some other questions! unfortunately uh revolving around the second favorite ship brymeppo…
does helhippo realize he likes bryan or no? also i really came into the fic thinking I wasnt gonna give a crap about him but somehow you made me like him a lot so kudos to you. his relationship with bryan is so rivals to lovers coded and thats one of my favorite tropes. I really do hope helhippo lives up to his promise and takes bryan to the symphony. I know that wont happen in tsats but if you could make a one shot of helhippo and bryan going out on small dates that would be amazing 🙏 for us rymeppo shippers #rymeppo shippers unite oh and as much as i wanna see bryan take revenge on elijah for all the things the guys done to him i also wanna see helmeppo smash the guys face in. please. kill elijah. I hate him.
omg sorry that this is so long but I still have some more questions!
kobylu wise, who do you think fell first? koby or luffy? its obvious that luffy likes Koby but why hasn’t he said anything? does he understand how he feels? and after this is all said and done how are they going to stay in contact? it’s not like koby can just talk to luffy whenever he wants since hes a marine and luffys the pirate king.
anyway thats all! I hope i was able to help your creativity in some way :)
I mean, yeah, art would be cool. But when it comes to engagement with my fics, the most I hope for is for someone to simply read it. Besides, it’s self indulgent! I’m just writing the stuff for me and sharing it along the way.
Anyway, questions. *pulls out glasses*
The back up? Well, it’s not Traffy, that much I can say. Considering we (last I checked) don’t know if Trafalgar is alive or not, I just decided to…y’know, leave him out.
Greetings, fellow AoT fan, you are NOT mistaken! I kinda like hiding little things in the fic—not EVERYTHING has a purpose like AoT, but a lot of things are put there for a reason. I like being sneaky like that.
And yes. Koby’s a psycho. He eats straight up butter—and said it tastes better when dipped in sugar. I got this weird headcanon from my bestie who also happens to eat butter sticks. I once saw him dip it in sugar and was so disgusted by it, and he was just like “it’s good for you. Besides, it’s ✨tasty✨” like sir no. What on earth. That’s weird. You do you, but please, not in front of me. Besides the point—for some reason I decided to implement that onto Koby. I have a habit of weirdifying characters.
As for the RyMeppo question… I seriously never expected people to love this ship so much wtf. In Chapter 5, Helmeppo is completely unaware of his very obvious crush on (B)Ryan. He thinks he hates Ryan, when it’s obvious it’s more than that. As of Chapter 10, however, the moron is 10000% aware of how he feels. He and Ryan’s relationship is really fun to write with the constant bickering/flirting. I never intended them to be a romantic relationship, but alas, that’s where it headed.
And the KobyLu questions! Yay! Koby definitely fell first and he fell hard—don’t think anyone could fall harder if they tried. As for Luff: he knows how he feels about Koby. Buddy went to Sanji’s school of flirting and failed the classes spectacularly yet tried showing off his grades to Koby. He’s made it very clear how he feels—Koby, unfortunately, is just too damn dense. Luffy could yell “I LOVE YOU” to Koby and he would probably think Luffy meant platonically. He gets his density from me, of course, I’m the exact same way.
I hope I answered your questions well! Thanks for the ask, it actually did help a bit.)))

Uchiha Madara Personality analysis (Ch. 622 - 623) Part 1
Uchiha Madara is a product of the era he grew up in. The constant bloodshed and wars shaped him into a talented and ruthless, yet loving and kind youth - who got swallowed up by despair.
I will do my best at being as objective as possible (while also overanalyzing something so simple as the speech bubbles during a specific part) and highlighting everything Madara says that is a piece - tiny as it is - to piece together his personality from Hashirama’s eyes.
*Note: the following scans are fan translated, not the official ones as I only own the german version in physical format.
Tumblr media
While this page offers some vague humour, it also gives the first hint of Madara’s character: sensitive. (As described by himself, mind you)
His sensitivity is probably innate since birth, but amplified and taken to extreme heights from the lives they live. It is actually quite heartbreaking that he cannot relax for even one second.
He also mentions that he has a “bad habit” of making excuses when he…what exactly? Loses his temper? Feels embarrassed?
(The german version simply has him say that “he is sorry and that it was just an excuse”)
Tumblr media
Madara then reveals his name to Hashirama, and that he is well aware of the shinobi code (being one himself, after all).
According to Hashirama, he and Madara were like day and night.
Tumblr media
As described by Madara he tries to be understanding of Hashirama’s plight (who has yet to reveal that his sadness has to do with Itama’s death). The way Madara looks in the second to last panel reveals quite a lot of turmoil. He probably remembered his siblings in that moment.
The picture below is that very panel, and it actually made me pause the video the first time I saw this episode to take in the expression captured in the moment.
Tumblr media
He looks so somber. His expression almost suggests that he lost his other three brothers a while back (maybe even years prior to Hashirama losing Itama?). He can clearly empathize with Hashirama here as he is an older brother himself (left with only Izuna at this point).
“Or rather, had four brothers…”
Tumblr media
It is in this panel that we get a lot of information about Madara’s hopes and wishes (and that he is an idealist who has yet to get his heart broken completely - he still has Izuna, after all)
It’s a bit ironic that he mentions being “vulnerable”, and that is basically a taboo amongst shinobi (weakness = death), and yet that is what he is with Hashirama in that moment; he reveals his hopes and wishes to a stranger. He is vulnerable by revealing what is in his heart.
Madara mentions that “maybe they don’t hate you as much as you think” - that implies that he has a habit of assuming things about people (negative most likely). He might be sensitive to the way people perceive him (perhaps because of his status as son of the leader, and therefore future leader)? It is interesting the way this sentence foreshadows his later life; Madara probably assumed that everyone feared/hated him, and this became a self fulfilling prophecy in the end.
(The german version does not really paint a picture about Madara the same way the above english scan does, he just mentions “that maybe the person is actually burning with rage” when they talk about the possibility of “looking into peoples hearts”/understanding one another)
This is one hell of a stretch, but it could imply how Hashirama (later in life) never really took notice of Madara’s TRUE feelings about a lot of things, because he did not understand who Madara was at that point (he changed after Izuna’s death, as mentioned by Hashirama)
Tumblr media
I had to highlight both points made by Madara and Hashirama here. Madara reveals here how power basically means everything in their era (but the type of strength he is thinking about is probably physical strength, no?) and that they need to be strong so that people will follow them (does this philosophy come from Tajima, Madara’s father, perhaps?)
The “permanent and lasting change” from Hashirama reveals a lot about HIS character here to be honest.
Hashirama mentions that their strength will reach a point where “even the adults won’t be able to ignore us anymore…” (Butsuma’s wonderful parenting at work here I would say…)
Madara is being all boastful about him having no weaknesses to work on…except his sensitivity to his surroundings… (and having people behind him distracting him)
Tumblr media
“Heh…modesty doesn’t suit you…” says Hashirama, which implies indeed that Madara is (rightfully so) proud of his talents (and the Uchiha clan’s Sharingan…that he was close to reveal to Hashirama) and likes to boast about it (or why else would Izuna be in disbelief that there is someone stronger than his nii-san?)
This scan also indicates that Madara probably is very harsh towards himself whenever he experiences failure (such as being unable to protect his siblings). The look in his eyes during his “what good is the…” monologue is the gaze of someone remembering failure (death of his brothers most likely).
Tumblr media
He showcases his resolve to protect his last remaining brother (Izuna).
An interesting detail that is different between the manga and anime version is Hashirama’s response to Madara’s oath of keeping Izuna safe. Here he is silent, listening to what Madara says and…screams on top of his lungs about their village.
In the anime version Madara looks over to Hashirama and asks him “so what about you?” and Hashirama replies “I have one younger brother left too and I also intend to protect him no matter what.” to which Madara nods in understanding and then Hashirama declares his vision for the village that becomes Konoha.
Tumblr media
An interesting thing about this panel is the fact that Madara is not even sure about his definition of peace (note the speech bubble). Here he, more or less, decides to “tag along” in the hopes that this village of theirs will keep Izuna safe.
(And that grin is too darn precious)
Tumblr media
“That rock was born to be skipped…you hold onto it until the next time we meet!”
Little did they know…
Separating this post in further parts because of Tumblr’s *10 pictures on mobile limit*.

Super hero prompts! #1
Hero was so normal about this.
Hero was a very normal hero, with a very normal fan base and a very normal power and they could remain normal about this situation right here in front of them.
It... It wasn't exactly a surprise. Hero has always been incredibly capable, how else would they have sped through the training program and earning their license despite the suddenness of their choice?
(I mean... Having a "motivation" probably helped but even then it's still impressive.)
But back on topic. Hero has had a nice career of being a normal if skilled hero and they can remain normal in even the most chaotic situations.
They can be normal about this.
...
They can be! Don't give me that look.
They can be normal about this.
....
-Someone help why can't they be normal about this.
This is not how they thought this would go, they were expecting since sort of secret high tech lair and an epic confrontation! Not this.
Not a messy and cluttered one bedroom apartment and...
And Villain. Passed out on the couch.
They were... Concerned, let's go with, when they found them passed out in costume, window left open behind them. Hero had honestly only barely passed first aid with a makeup project done hurriedly in the last few weeks and they were not confident that would be reliable if Villain was injured.
Luckily, it seemed they were fine, if a little bruised. Just tired.
But that leaves Hero freaking out about how to react to this discovery.
Backtrack? How did I get here? Why did this happen?
Better then panicking they guess. Sure, let's do that.
Wait but did this start Wednesday or this Morning? Cause technically this all started with-
Focus, Hero! Focus. Relevant recaps only.
Hero was relatively skilled at tracking. Or- well maybe it's defined as locating? Idk, they're good at overanalyzing crumbs of information and finding guesses of people's locations. Wish they could say Hero training thought them but really it's a skill from childhood. Don't worry about it.
(They are not a clingy friend, don't listen to a word BFF says.)
Regardless, it's very handy for their career of choice. They're relatively freelance for a Hero so it's not like it's too time consuming and often it's led to many a capture. They even earned a small reputation.
But, you see, Hero's gotten themself a rival of sorts. Villain has been around a little longer then Hero and has forged a reputation of being sneaky and slippery. Hero want afraid to challenge that once they got through schooling and they've been a recurring encounter ever since.
But Hero has been bored lately. There's no big drug rings or fights in the street or anything.
So they thought they'd see if they could.
Find Villains lair, that is.
They narrowed it down to a few and was planning on leaving it at that but...
Unfortunately they have a best friend they share everything with.
(Yes this all started because of a dare. Wh- I'm not stubborn you're stubborn.)
Enough rambling. They just recapped everything and it still explains nothing.
Why is Villain using what's supposedly their CIVILIAN APARTMENT as a secret lair?! How has no one managed to catch them yet? All Hero had to do was walk in here! There wasn't even an alarm system.
Their eyes catch the closed door of the bedroom.
...A peek couldn't hurt, right?
Snooping around their rivals apartment seems like a much better thing to figure on then trying to figure out what to do. Everyone gets curious and after the mental tax this has been, they deserve the compensation.
It's normal to take time to sort out your thoughts. They're very much being normal about this.
(They ignore the tiny voice saying the normal reaction would have been alerting the hero corp to Villain's location. Or tying Villain up while they were vulnerable.)
They're being normal about this.
They open the door to a small and crowded room that clearly isn't big enough. Though whether that's the fault of the room or the immense collection of metal and electronic parts scattered around is anyone's guess.
The furniture's been shoved to one side, so as to have floor space for inventing. Hero hardly needs to take another glance around the room to realise that probably didn't last long, what with the unopened Ikea shelving box laid on the bed just as covered in parts as everywhere else.
It's a mess. Hero knew Villain had a knack for trinkets and inventions that were a little unorthodox, but they had kind of imagined a more impressive lab-
This is the lab. This mess of a room that's very floor is a walking hazard is where all of Villains crazy weapons are made.
Is this apartment really all Villain has to practice villainy in? This tiny, two-room and a bath room with the smallest shower known to man apartment that hardly fits one person?
They can't believe that the reason they became a hero is using this as their base of operations.
Hero makes a noise that's somewhere between a sigh and a groan. Curse BFF for daring them to actually check. How are they ever supposed to take Villain seriously again?
(This is why you don't suddenly change your entire plan for the future for the chance to interact more with someone cool. The more you learn the more that illusion wears off.)
This is not helping them with their effort to have normal thoughts.
They shut the door and return to the living room/kitchen/ main room so small it doesn't even have room for a dining table.
Their eyes drift to their rival, noting the fluffy hair escaping their hood. It's that brown-blonde color. You know, the one that's like blonde but if it was on a brown color scale? It tumbles from it's hiding place and obscures the side of Villains face, fluttering slightly with their slight exhales, catching on the edge of their mask. Villain shifts slightly, and Hero can feel their mask digging into their skin.
Hero grimaces in sympathy. They wonder for a moment why Villain didn't take their mask off, but honestly they're more grateful about that fact. This has been enough of a emotional rollercoaster, don't need to add unintentional exposure of someone's identity to that weight.
It's funny, what originally drew Hero to them was their sharp edges, how they never let their guard down and never grew cocky yet still had this air off confidence. And yet the sight in front of them can't be described as anything other then soft and vulnerable.
Hero doesn't mind it though.
(they're honestly unsure which side they like more.)
They pause, before an exasperated sigh escapes them.
So much for being normal about this.
They glare at Villain half-heartedly. Well, if they can't be normal about Villain, then Hero's decided they're going to be not normal in a way that could almost be normal if in different context.
They pull a blanket up over Villain, before looking at the counter.
Well, if no one else is going to do it, might as well tidy this place up.
Cleaning's always been a productive way to pass time anyway.
And what else are they supposed to do, take a seat and wait? No way.

Ok because I can’t let this thought go, I need to say my piece on media analysis and fandom’s version of it really quickly:
I’ve worked as an on-set dresser, a set dresser, and in the set decoration department in other roles. I get how set dressing works. And I’m also a huge fan of media analysis and overanalyzing and drawing meaning where you find it from the text, intentional or not.
I’m all on board with finding details in the set dressing and expanding on them, but there are so many times I see posts that argue small set dec details are intentional and foreshadowing something - usually a ship going canon - when it never feels that way to me. Yes, there is thought behind every aspect of film, but that doesn’t mean that the exact placement of everything has some great meaning behind it. Sometimes the meaning is “it would make logical sense for this item to be in this space” and nothing more.
I don’t comment on these posts bc I don’t want to be overly negative or ruin anyone’s fun, but the problem I keep seeing happening in fandom spaces is that meaning that was never intentional on the creators’ part will be drawn from small details and passed around fandom as proof of foreshadowing of something that was never intended to happen. And because someone is able to find meaning in something, people believe it was an intentional set-up.
Sometimes the item is just there. Sometimes a set dresser went “yeah that looks good” and there’s nothing more to it. Sometimes the DP goes “yeah that shot looks visually good and the items in it make sense” not “every item placed in this shot is intentional”.
(Sometimes something gets stuck in a weird place and you don’t notice it until cameras are about the roll but it’s like, not worth the hassle of holding for art bc literally everyone hates holding for art, so it just lives there now.)
The problem isn’t drawing meaning from the text where you find it. That’s a great way to interact with media honestly. The problem is making the mistake of deciding it was intentional AND intentionally setting up the exact scenario you already wanted to happen. Bc honestly, until we hear it from the creator’s mouths, we don’t know always know what minor details were intentional.

Something has been on my mind recently.
If the souls in the Hazbin universe are people who’ve died, how is it even possible for these souls to experience death again? A soul can be defined as an immortal spiritual manifestation of oneself. The whole idea of the extermination makes little sense. Given that souls are immortal, it raises the question of why angels would bother to kill souls in Hell. If Pentious managed to find redemption, what fate befell the other sinners who had also been killed? Does that imply that the other souls are transported to another location? Certainly not Earth, because their physical forms are no longer living. Do they go to Heaven? If that were true, then Charlie's work would have no purpose. Since they weren't redeemed, did they simply disappear into thin air? There is a chance that it could be possible. As far as I can tell, the show doesn't explicitly align itself with any religious beliefs; instead, it draws inspiration from different religious concepts. However, it defeats the entire purpose of souls. The show emphasizes the significance of souls, but introducing extermination completely undermines its core purpose.
I noticed this while rewatching the show to analyze it for a fan fic I've been writing. It's honestly super intriguing to witness because we don't get an explanation. The storyline of Hazbin Hotel is exceptional, complemented by its distinct characters. However, a more detailed explanation of this concept would provide a better understanding. Give us the answer to why and where do these souls go when they've died? It's the same with the Helluva Boss series. It's implied that souls in Hell could meet their demise, but how is it possible if a soul is believed to be immortal? Is it not immortal in this universe? If so, then why do humans die in this universe?
That's the beauty of fiction! It's all made up and you can do whatever you please! No hate to the show at all! I'm a big fan of it! I love to analyze and ask questions. It helps me grow as a writer. It's just a few observations I've made.
Edit: I did forget to include that only angelic weapons could kill souls. Which I'm assuming that souls can be killed in this universe. However, it still defeats the entire purpose of a soul. Here's a definition of a soul: "the spiritual or immaterial part of a human being or animal, regarded as immortal." In most religions, they believe that a soul is immortal. In the Hazbin universe this is not the case, meaning, they have their own definition of a soul. I want to know what that is. This is what I find interesting. I'm not saying I dislike it. What I am saying is that in my opinion it doesn't make sense that souls can be killed and wish there was a better explanation to this rather than just "oh they can be killed by these angelic weapons." I want to know what is the point of death when souls in Hell or Heaven can suddenly drop dead to angelic weapons? If Heaven and Hell are eternal realms meant to accommodate souls for eternity, why do these souls need to experience death? Why do mortals have to experience death initially if this were the case? Of course, Hazbin Hotel doesn't have to follow any religion, but some more context to souls would be helpful—an explanation.
Again, this is a work of fiction, so no hate at all! That's the beauty of creativity! I love Hazbin Hotel! This is just my opinion and my observations/thoughts! :) Don't mind my rambles :,)) I do overanalyze things, so, I see there can be flaws in these. Feel free to point them out !!

I have an Omori related confession ti make
My favourite character might appear to be KEL. Which is partly true. I mean, he's the only character ice really made "fan art" of, the only character I posted about on here (I didn't really post too much Omori related stuff on this blog though), he's simply relatable in so many ways to me and means a lot to me. He's a character personal to me and i will beat you anyone who insults him. Yes, there are some things I find hard to relate to, such as being a basketball player, or -havingahardtimegettingoveryourboyfriendssistersdeathandbeingunabletocopeeithitandandd- but overall he's relatable enough. I love him dearly. I would kill for him. I will defend him.
He's my second favourite character.
My *_actual_* favourite character is someone far more embarrassing and I suppose "comedic" to an extent.
It is THE MAVERICK.
Perhaps one of the biggest losers in the game, he actually holds quite a special place in my heart. The most Omori fanfiction I've read is centered around him (and moreso specifically him x kel) and I wouldn't kill for him, I would kill him. He's such a loser. A lovable one.
I don't think I can quite express it with words accurately, but I will make an attempt.
CAN ANYONE ACTUALLY SEE THAT HE HAS A CHARSFTER,,
Like. He's so lovable and kick able. Hes dramatic, theatric, is definitely a huge anime fan, has an ARCH NEMESIS for titans sake (having an arch nemesis your age? Kinda gay /j), he made a name for himself, said "f*ck you, I don't care that i was named this way because of my family members and society, I'm gonna take it into my own hands" and I can't blame him.
Most importantly he is one of those characters that has an overconfident facade to cover up his actual deep insecurities.
DAM do I lose those characters!!
It has been shown he's quick to get insecure, such as people calling him his given name is seen as an instant trigger of some emotion, where he gets really anxious and nervous. He made such an attempt to distance himself from his family, and if we go deeper and fetch it farther, he's made such an attempt to distance himself from who he is.
Obviously, he wouldn't express his insecurities. He's bad at almost everything, just trying to become popular, loved, going as far to pay girls to date him. He wears a wig, people have said that he tries everything in order to stand out.
But WAIT
We have seen him get extremely insecure from people like KEL calling him "MIKHAEL". Perhaps he's trying to impress everyone, with his own forged identity rather than his given identity.and while I do love that it's more hinted that THE MAVERICK isnt necessarily who he is but a slight facade (his theatric personality is not a facade though because I say so). THE MAVERICK is by some extension someone to mask MIKHAEL. So when people see and know who he truly is, MIKHAEL, he gets scared and his supposed overconfidence waters down and gets in touch with fire, forming into smoke quickly escaping and joining the air it's invisibility.
BUT
He has been shown not feeling uncomfortable with THE HOOLIGANS calling him his given name.
Proof: (just search "Aubreys birthday comic" you'll find it (official comic made by the creator, OMOCAT)
Tumblr media
When Aubrey asked, "wheres MIKHAEL?" I fully expected him to barge in and get upset over it. However..
Tumblr media
Nope! It's completely normal! THE HOOLIGANS just casually address him with MIKHAEL and he shows zero problem with it.
Might be very far fetched, but perhaps it's because he feels safe and accepted by the hooligans- like he doesn't have to hide who he truly is, his true identity is completely safe around them.
This shows that MIKHAEL is able to be more personal and open with THE HOOLIGANS. Because he feels more accepted.
Not having to buy them for attention, like he literally bought two girls to act like they're dating him, he can just be himself
Or maybe I'm just too obsessed with him and completely overanalyzing him.
Oops! I'm sooo sorry!! (NOT)
Anyhow, I LOVE THE HOOLIGANS!! I LOVE MIKHAEL!! LIVE LAUGH LOVE!! AAAA
Now that we have reached the end, I would like to say that while I had already seen MIKHAEL as queer, making this post made me realize that he's even more queer than I initially thought.
That or I'm queerbaiting myself. (Either way is fine!)
Farewell folks!
(My favourite OMORI characters in order:
1st place - MIKHAEL/THE MAVERICK
2nd place - KEL/KELSEY
3rd place - BASIL and HERO
4th place - SUNNY (or maybe he's third place idk) and MARI
AUBREY (I'm sooooooooo sorry I might change my mind I'm so so so sorry)(she is bad*ss but i don't really care about those types of characters)(i LOVE AUBREY I just don't like her as much as I like MARI or others I'm so sorry AUBREY please forgive me (I know your girlfriend won't though)))
Also, you cannot convince me he wouldn't have a huge crush on KEL and try desperately to impress him only to fail and you cannot convince me that he isn't homophobic homosexual transphobic trans (all of the hooligans are)

What you said in your previous post about manhwas reflecting the thinking of Korean autoreas is so true!! it's frustrating because people analyze it with their western mentality and throw so much hate without bothering to try to understand the story. There are many things that I have noticed in the manhwa that are very different from things in the west (for example, the FL is always compared to an angel or a fairy lol) but something that caught my attention is that in the west it is It is very common that when we talk about an 'empowered woman' it is a woman who is good at physical fights, with super powers or good at using weapons with sarcastic personalitys and other things, while in manhwas (there are women like that too, of course) but something they have that the americans movies don't usually show is that the women here are very good at studying. That surprised me (and I liked it) because it is not very common to see women who work hard in the studios and enjoy it in USA movies, but they do in manhwas. One of the few movies that reflects this is legally blonde (and it's one of the best movies out there) plus I have a great love for academically validated female characters, they are literally my favorites in any story so reading that Athy really enjoyed studying made me fall more in love with her. Also when FLs have to act cute in order to survive, fans often throw so much hate at them saying they are irritating or ridiculous but they don't take the time to think that there are many ways to be a great female character without always using weapons, I have a great hatred for the term "soft fl" it seems too misogynistic to me that they are thrown down for that reason but waiting for the manhwa community to realize that is going to take a long time.
Another thing I remember is that in the novel Athy had many modern thoughts that surprised me, like when they talked a little about Korean society and I could feel a criticism of this or the things she said when some men harassed her and Jennette or when some men Men said that she would be happier married to a prince instead of being the next empress and she was very upset by her. Also when in his debut he said "one thing I learned is that boys have to look like boys and ladies look like ladies" (this stuck with me because it made me think of oversexualizing young children but maybe I'm overanalyzing it) There are many interesting things in the wmmap novel that people take out of context.
Another thing I've noticed is that in the East it's more typical to see this kind of "sunshine" girls who are sweet and cheerful, very kind, literally the kind of people that everyone loves and in manhwas they get so much hate, it's hateful. It's also not common to see this type of girls in the west and if they are, they are always hated. Ruby from How to get my husband on my side is truly one of the strongest female characters out there and is always looked down on just because she is softer compared to the other girlboss leads. Athanasia is a character who seems to be on the lookout for between these two terms but he still gets criticized for not having acted in a more "evil" way it's funny because the scene of Athy facing the nobles and then Anastascius screamed more power to me than many scenes I've seen in movies or series.
I just want to clarify that I love my villainous girls, medea and roxana are really amazing and I enjoyed women who do morally bad things, marianne, Cosette, soleia, I love them all. But I genuinely hate how they look down on 'soft fl'
The thing is, there are a lot of things in the novels/manhwas that I feel are critical or stereotypical of them that more western minded people take too much out of context and it's too frustrating, some people have a hard time understanding which does not have to be from their point of view.
sorry for all the rant lmao, i didn't mean to make it so long, it's just that this is one of my big problems with the manhwa community 😭
Have a good day!
Don't worry for the rant, anon! I think similarly to you as well.
I'm in the position that, while I live in a country that geographically and politically could be considered "the west" (what a long conversation that is lmfao), my culture doesn't perfectly align with "western" values and ideas. So when I see people sending hate towards manhwa, I notice how they often analyze them exclusively from their personal point of view and own biases, not realizing that asian media is very different from western media. I don't know if this is a problem of media literacy or it's that people think less of asian media as a whole. Hopefully it's the former.
But yes, most manhwas reflect korean values! Shocking, I know. Perhaps people get blinded by the western settings, but even if the characters "don't look" asian, they were made by an asian author, so obviously they reflect asian ideas and values. In that sense, they are asian characters. A similar discourse happens with anime and danmei/xianxia novels.
I think western readers have an easier time liking "girlboss" FLs and revenge fantasy stories because those are more common on this side of the world. But they struggle with more nuanced stories where the FL is not perfect, she does not solve everything with schemes or being a badass, is "weak", or (heaven forbid!) is able to forgive a family that hurt her in the past. This is the main criticism Athy gets, the fact that she was able to love Claude. I truly don't understand how people decide to even read WMMAP if they are so opposed to that idea, because that's the heart of WMMAP's story. Family holds a much bigger importance on the east compared to the west's individualistic idiosyncrasy, so of course most asian stories that touch the topic of family won't end in "if your family wronged you, fuck them". From where I'm from, family is also regarded as very important, so I can understand why a lot of manhwas are about rebuilding family relationships, not destroying them. And even then, you have plenty of revenge fantasies with cartoonishly evil families, so if that's what you prefer, you can read those.
Specifically korean media, it often touches topics like, generational trauma, misogyny, capitalism, etc. As you said, WMMAP addresses these things too in some way or another. I didn't think manhwa was particularly subtle as a medium (I know it's kinda ironic coming from me, but these are very simple stories, not Dostoevsky novels), but if people have trouble understanding the point of Parasite and Squid Game, then no wonder they can't pick up on these themes.
I'm not saying asian media or manhwas are above negative criticism. They have plenty of issues of their own. But if you are going to criticize something, you have to truly understand it, and reading anything disregarding cultural context or the own internal biases you may hold is at best foolish and at worst very ignorant. Western readers often have this mentality that all stories have to cater to them, when it's obvious that manhwas were made thinking of a korean public first and foremost.
(I dislike when people say Athy should have been more "evil". The whole point of her character is how her kindness and willingness to be empathetic with others and try to build honest relationships was what saved everyone. Villainesses AUs are fun, but when people truly say that Athy's character is weak because she chooses to feel love instead of hatred, because she is selfless instead of selfish- Why are you even reading WMMAP? And even then, she is far from "soft" and has plenty of "badass moments"...)
(News to me that Ruby gets hate, I thought she was the new manhwa darling. I stopped reading that series, but to me she was the best part of it by far. I think she is one of the only few good portrayals of a victim of physical abuse and ED in all manhwa. I have always disliked how those traits are just brushed aside as little things to endear the FL to the reader, but are never treated with the seriousness they deserve).

dare i say…..1, 6, 8, and 17 for the ask meme?
ohh please do, i have so many opinions about dmbj. that being said, obligatory disclaimer, all of these are very much my subjective opinions, not fact. fandom discourse ahead, you’ve been warned
for the ‘choose violence ask game’:
1. the character everyone gets wrong
if i had to be completely honest, my hot take would be that technically a distressingly large portion of the vocal dmbj fandom gets pretty much all the characters wrong to the point it’s actually kind of concerning, but if i had to choose one character in particular, it’d have to be xiaoge.
and look. i understand that a number of people have only watched the dramas and aren’t particularly inclined to read the books because of the time commitment that comes with so much material to get through, and that’s fair. but it’s very telling when someone only goes off of the dramas to shape their characterizations (and even then, i could have a hotter take that the dramas, exceptions aside, all have the broad strokes of the characters down with only details that change, so there’s really no excuse) because in the books, xiaoge is repeatedly described as being indifferent and very much disinterested and untouched by what goes on around him. xiaoge choosing to invest himself in something or someone is very much something noteworthy coming from him. and it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have emotions, but it does mean he’s a very nuanced character to explore when it comes to them and how they’re displayed.
it’s incredibly frustrating to see how many people, often times for the sake of a trope or a ship dynamic, make him one dimensional. either he’s a cold, almost brutal s*x predator, or he’s a tortured angsty soul that’s meek and emotionally vulnerable the moment he trusts someone enough, or he’s dramatically waxing poetic in his head about his feelings for X Y or Z, or possibly worst of all, he’s a mindless one-fit-for-all doll that caters to whatever ship he’s been placed in.
it’s not like i’m the authority on characterization, everyone has their biases, myself included, but the key to understanding xiaoge is to remember that he’s an old soul, disconnected from the world and people around him both through his particular circumstances and through the way he’s been consistently dehumanized practically since he was a baby. his sense of self is in shambles, and only begins a slow (re)construction through his slow-growing friendship with wu xie and pangzi. of course he has his doubts and fears—the whole evolution from ‘i have no connection to this world’ to ‘my one connection to this world is you’ doesn’t come out of nowhere—but those doubts aren’t expressed in conventional ways, just like any love or affection he might feel will never be thought of or expressed in grandiose or over the top ways. a lot of the things he feels just are, and it doesn’t make them less true or complex just because xiaoge isn’t one to overanalyze things and accepts and is secure in them so long as he’s been made aware of them. he’s also assertive in his judgment of things in general. i could go on and honestly i’m not sure i’m even touching the tip of the iceberg as far as fandom treatment of xiaoge goes but just. yeah.
6. which ship fans are the most annoying
this. is a very loaded question with a very loaded answer. i keep feeling like i need to make disclaimers before i say things like “if you like this it’s fine” because yes it absolutely is. i’m not telling anyone a ship is bad. but if i have to point fingers, there’s a group of people who happen to be very into particular ships with whom i’ve had. less than great interactions. so this isn’t a judgment of the ships so much as it’s a reflection of my experiences with a lot of people who happen to be vocal about liking them.
and in my time in the dmbj fandom, no group of people has been more aggravating to me than ls shippers and lc character shippers in general. and tbh i can extend that to the people who make shipping every possible character combination under the sun their entire personality. again it’s fine if you like any of these things. but that i’ve personally experienced, too many of these people manage to often offer the unholy combination of being extremely pushy about their preferences even when someone politely expresses they’re not into them, and having the worst takes imaginable on any given character they claim to like. it’s to the point where while i initially had no particularly strong feelings about ls as a character, i genuinely do not like him now and do not want to hear about him in general. and tbh by extension i’m not the biggest fan of lc and his characters just because i unfortunately associate him with these people and their behavior. you can imagine how much i enjoy the fact that these are also the group of people who’ve effectively silently bullied a number of other people out of fandom spaces enough that they’re now the face of the dmbj fandom on a number of platforms.
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
once again this could apply to so many things. but i think the one thing that gets me the most is the very widespread opinion that dmbj as a canon is inconsistent and full of plot holes and makes no sense. i’ve had people tell me that dmbj canon doesn’t exist because the canon is so incoherent and incohesive, and that the fandom likes it that way because it’s more fun. and that’s just a preference for fanon over canon that’s being justified by passing it off as a fact for some reason.
it’s fine to have preferences, but i draw the line at intentional misinformation. and once again, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, it’s telling of people having largely engaged with the dramas over the books, because the books, while imperfect and sometimes leaving things unanswered (and even then that’s becoming a moot point seeing as npss is tying up a lot of those loose ends in the more recent arc of the story that predictably over half of the fandom is unaware of because it hasn’t been adapted), very rarely end up having major discrepancies. the books, which sorry to say are very much the definitive canon, are actually very cohesive both for plot and characters, and the loose ends, while frustrating, are never to the detriment of the plot. nothing is openly contradictory, or rarely. and with such an extensive source material that doesn’t hand you answers on a gold platter, it also requires some close reading of seemingly innocuous details that become relevant down the line, which can get complicated given the sheer amount of information.
so while it’s not necessarily easy, no dmbj is not full of ‘pits haha’. people only think that because a) they’ve only watched the dramas which are an absolute mess and b) it makes them feel justified in considering dmbj like some free-for-all chinese tomb raiding themed dnd game they can remix ad infinitum, when i honestly don’t understand why that even needs justification. you can enjoy fanon without dunking on both the canon and the people who enjoy engaging with it idk.
17. there should be more of this type of fic/art
this is honestly a great question and i had to think about it for a bit, so i’m going to offer two (ish) options. the first kind of general one is i wish there were more book-centric fics instead of drama-centric ones, because while i enjoy the shows for different reasons, i love the books and the specific vibe they have, and just overall i prefer them by a fair margin. i’d specifically love fic about anything post restart but that’s a pipe dream tbh.
the second is i wish there were more gen fics about the main characters? i know there are a number of gen fics out there, but a lot of them tend to include or focus on minor characters i don’t particularly care for, and so much of the fic involving the iron triangle specifically tends to either be shippy, or even when it’s gen is still flirting a very close line to shippy that’s gen only in name and hinges on the fact it doesn’t include s*x or kissing or explicit mentions of relationship status. but i want the gen fic where it’s just wu xie and pangzi goofing off over a beer, the gen fic where it’s just pangzi trying to get a rise out of xiaoge by telling him ridiculous dirty jokes as they clean xilaimian’s kitchen while xiaoge stays impassive and eventually wu xie comes back from wherever he was and digs at pangzi for it. i want the gen fic where it’s just wu xie and xiaoge on a walk in the mountains, no talking, just enjoying each other’s presence and the peace the silence brings.
special mention to i would also like for ship fics that include one pair in the iron triangle to not write off the other member for very obvious reasons. like shipping pangxie and conveniently taking xiaoge out of the picture by writing him off as ace (which is a hc i vibe with but not when it’s a poor excuse for excluding him). or like shipping pingxie and just not including pangzi in situations where he very much would be. romance and friendship are different types of relationships but both are as valuable and can and should coexist without invalidating each other.

i’m sending this to a few tk blogs bc i’d like multiple people’s perspectives…
im a taekooker but i rlly have these moments where i think we all must just be deluded (jkkers, tkkers, other shippers etc) bc everyone believes SO strongly that their ship is right and we all feel like we can back it up w “evidence”. jikookers genuinely see something btwn jm and jk and us taekookers genuinely see something between v and jk. i do feel like taekook makes the most sense logically (especially during the solo era) and i feel like i did a lot of research to come to that conclusion (including watching videos on a lot of other pairings like jikook), but i could rlly just have underlying biases that are making me see things between tk that my brain wants to see. to other shippers and fans tkkers r insane, to tkkers others r insane. so honestly aren’t we probably all insane lol ? ik it’s POSSIBLE that tk are together but it just seems so improbable. i often try to talk myself out of taekook bc like rly what r the chances of two members in the biggest band in the word actually secretly dating for like many years ? and they’ve been able to successfully hide it all this time ? and we believe they still are together ? idk it sounds too good/far-fetched to be true and like i can’t imagine a day coming way later on down the line where it would actually be confirmed or like super super obvious even without confirmation. but i can totally imagine a day where it comes out that jk is officially dating some girl or something like that and then we’d all be proven wrong. ik that leans into assuming heterosexuality is the default which is not good and i don’t believe that but i can’t help but to feel like nah we’re all just delusional and fantasizing and tk r not together. i do definitely believe v is queer in some way but maybe that’s all.
Hi anon!
I think it's important to realize that it's okay to not actually believe in Tae and Jk being together (or any ship for that matter). Them being together or not does not actually effect your own life. So if you're in a state of "well, I definitely see some stuff going on, but I have no clue what it is exactly" that's totally fine. Uncertainty isn't a bad thing, you just have to be able to cope with it in a healthy way. Sometimes uncertain shippers do not know how to cope with the uncertainty very well, those are the ones who scrutinize every detail of every moment we get.. trying to find proof. I get it, but it's not the way to go, because that uncertainty will always return and you'll end up in a loop with no end. I think there's people that get actual anxiety because of this at times.
I know to non-shippers we (and other shippers) must all look insane. I don't think we actually are. Even though there are insane-ish tkkrs out there, that doesn't mean there can't be some truth to it as well. When you look around on twitter, youtube, instagram, Tumblr, you find all sorts of different Tkkrs. While we all fall under the term 'Taekooker' i'd say there's many different categories, which very different outlooks on the situation. For instance, technically I'd rather call myself a Taekook believer, while I suppose you are an actual shipper. There's also those that believe, but do not ship.
I'll tell you my reasons for not thinking I'm insane (😂😂). This sounds super stupid and arrogant (and I'm actually cringing while typing this up)... but I consider myself smart and insightfull. Have been all my life, and others have also told me they think of me the same. Basically, I trust my instincts and judgement. I've gone through life experiencing many different feelings, emotions, situations.. and I feel I just understand life and people. When it comes to Tae and Jk, I don't need all the overanalyzed stuff. I just see the way they look at each other and the way they interact and I feel I recognize romantic love there. I understand why it must seem 'too good to be true', but is it really? People so often fall in love with people they are in close proximity to. Coworkers falling in love isn't odd, best friends falling in love isn't odd, celebrities falling in love isn't odd... so why would Tae and Jk be the exception? It isn't even weird for two members in the same band to fall in love or be married... it is just odd to see two members of a K-pop band in love... but is the reason that it doesn't happen, or that it isn't made public?
When you look at celebrities that have come out, you will very often see that they as well have kept it a secret for many years. Idols are expected to keep their relationships hidden anyway, so for Tae and Jk this isn't very much different in that aspect, only there's an added reason. I don't think Namjoon, Jimin, Yoongi, Hobi, and Jin have been single the last ten years.. and we know nothing of their relationships either.
I don't think their relationship has been easy and I expect there have probably been many difficulties along the way. But when I see how they are together this year.. I definitely think their love was stronger than the things that got thrown in their way.
I think it's good to be sceptical. I try to be as well.

Something that I've been thinking for quite a bit and honestly I need to see what yall think, bc with the way fans treat Lando and Luísa and are way too obsessed over their relationship even though they are not together anymore, I really wonder when this people follow everything Luisa for example, says/does and overanalyze it all to associate it to him in any way possible, same thing with Lando simply liking a photo and them making it a big deal, it gets me thinking do they think that this is one of those movie tropes where the couple broke up but they still have feelings for each other so they are constantly on each others minds and everything reminds them of each other and they would do anything to get back together, but there's something holding them back so they need a little push and blah blah blah, you know what I mean, I hope yall know what I'm talking about, bc for me it feels more and more like fans genuinely believe that this is what's going on between Lando and Luisa and Idk if I should be concerned or amused. Hi. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain Jikook/Kookmin moments with us and adding a different layer to their relationship. I always find analysis and thoughts on certain moments quite interesting and I’ve loved reading yours. My question is somewhat related to JM/JK but also related to the Korean language itself. While studying Korean, I was told not to use “당신” unless it was with a significant other. I remember that when JM/JK used it in their conversation, a lot of people were talking about it and how big of a deal it was. But I’ve heard a lot of idols use it during their conversations or whenever they talk to a camera and in K-dramas too. So I’ve been a little confused about whether or not it’s appropriate and if it really was a big deal for JM/JK to use it with each other. Thank you and please have a wonderful day or night. ♡
Hi there, thanks for your lovely message and sorry for the slight delay of my response.
Since you are already studying Korean, I assume you realized Korean sentences don't require pronouns unless absolutely necessary to specify who or what we are talking about. Therefore the closest equivalent to "당신" that we can find in English is indeed "you" but its functionality completely differs from the "you" as we know and use in English. (that's why I always remind people to take into consideration the hugely different cultural context both languages are embedded in and not take every translation as a complete parallel of one another)
There is many different connotations 당신 can have depending on the context. In general and also why you are hearing it a lot from idols is because it is used to address a general audience, where there is no person specified and typically the speech connected with such use of "당신" is formal to highly formal. It is the same reason it is used in ads, slogans, billboards etc. It talks to the general non-specific public/audience.
Another close context to the previous one is that it is vastly used in literature, or any art form that includes words (also music). In this type of use the word appears as poetic and polite and again neutral.
Third context is when someone uses it deliberately in a fight, it does carry a strong negative connotation, even an implication that you are belittling the other. That's why Korean learners are rather told to stay away from that word.
Fourth context can be in a polite speech, when you are addressing someone way higher and older than you (teacher, grandparent). In some sentences it is necessary to use a pronoun and that's when 당신 can be applied in this situation.
Aaand finally the last context (that I can think of) and which you also mentioned is between a married couple. It is important to point out here though that this word is quite archaic and isn't widely used among young couples anymore. It belongs more into the vocabulary of older married couples as it sounds a bit old-fashioned and cringy 😅
Now having said all of that, I guess you'll understand when I say I don't really like to overanalyze those few instances that Jungkook said 당신 because one could always argue or speculate about the context and I am not really a fan of spreading speculations. And if I reaaally had to give my 2 cents, I wouldn't go with the 'romantic' explanation.
If you ask me, I'm way more fond of those instances when Jungkook called Jimin "자기야" or when Jimin called Jungkook "내 새끼" as the meaning behind them is clear, endearing and very loving 🥺
