I wasn’t surprised that Joe was so meticulous on bakeoff, he comes off as very determined and hard working with everything he does, I remember him talking about how hard he tried to make absolutely sure he got the Agatha role (and Heartstopper, once he realized he actually had a shot), and he keeps choosing to do projects that are not easy, like he’s been going hard nonstop for a while now! It doesn’t surprise me that determination would carry over to his baking, even if it is just for fun/stress relief. :)

yeah im kinda not surprised but at the same time im kinda surprised by the intensity?? like re rolling his dough, taking out his ruler to measure??? and i lowkey found it cool (and a wee bit unfair) that his showstopper was an actual showstopper where his fondant was covering all the cake (WHICH ISNT EASY!) as compared to the rest who covered the top of their cake lol

but yeah joe has always come off to me that he takes everything seriously and wanting it to do perfectly no matter how “fun” this thing is

#so my mom's wake thing was today and that was a lot. not in an emotional sense but in a im standing here talking for 3hrs #to ppl i dont kno or barely kno. ya kno? but it was good bc so many ppl showed up to talk abt her #so many people. my mom made a huge impact on the school system. so many ppl relied on her. she encouraged at least 2 ppl to get their #master. for one person to specilize in helping the dyslexic after her experience advocating for 3 dyslexic daughters. she wrote and was #awarded a 10000 dollar grant for special needs and intervention curriculum. which will affect so many lives. #everyone loved her. she's gonna get a track meet named after her and a scholarship created in her honor. #she was an amazing person and she affected a lot of lives and im glad she was my mom. and she raised at least one jem in my littlest #sister who is so sweet and is a great teacher. god but there was some weird stuff too. were pretty sure her old boss was in love with her. #and there were some weird comments abt her being a strong woman or this woman doing so much and its like hm y do i detect a note of sexism #y not say she was an amazing person? y the surprise? weird comments about how pretty i looked. which yes i looked great lol. my funeral fit #was cute. we did bright colors bc it was a celebration not a dower event. and im sure it was ment well but it was a lil weird. and then #everyone was telling my grandma what a great job she did raising my mom and like god fuck off she didn't do jack. my mom was great despite #her terrible mother. ugh. but altogether it was good that everyone was able to express their love for her. it was def a day that was for #them mostly. i mean partly for us but mostly for them. none of us even cried. ay but we have 2 more parties in her honor #bc everyone loved her so much we have to do one in her hometown too. plus a personal friends get together. ugh. im so tired #i wish i wasnt the most awkward. eye contact avoidant person in the room but like ya kno. what can ya do? #unrelated

as for the rest of the kamados... i actually havent decided LOL. my instinct is to save everyone, since this is a light-hearted comic strip, but also i'm not sure i'd be able to reliably write that since it involves more plot than the "stupid jokes loosely following canon" i mostly have written down aha. so i suppose it's a surprise for now, even for myself.

#art #traditional art #watercolour #oc art #ocs #oc group: lia crystal darling #oc: lia #i dont have any purple paints in my current watercolour set which is surprising because i am a big convenience colour guy #like im so lazy about mixing colours i'll fudge it with layering half the time #so i make purple with some permanent rose and an ultramarine #makes a beautiful vibrant purple as its a red toned blue and a blue toned red together #but also something about maybe the pigment densities? and/or maybe because the rose is a different brand from the ultramarine #and they have different formulas (the rose is w&n and the ultramarine is sennelier and i know sennelier has honey in there LOL) #but like when i mix them if i put in enough water as it dries the pigments bloom and slightly separate and pool in such like #beautiful and interesting ways #other paints will do that a bit but these two do it so wonderfully that i honestly probably never will get a purple LOL #i like my mixed purple too much kkjraelfjrklfedjfkda #so yeah ive been on a purple kick 1) because im in the lia zone and thats like her image colour HJKFDSJFD #BUT ALSO 2) im having too much fun with weird pigment shenanigans #that ultramarine blue deep just does whatever it wants. drags the permanent rose around with it. awesome

#im posting this very late because i was sort of weary of how it came out and ended up messing w it until it was like 4am oops. #and i have plans tmrw so... oh well! i did my best and ill put it out while i can! #and i tried to make the scene match barnard's colors lol #finn's ocs #finn's art #i know i said id do more sillay stuff with the simpler screentone only style but i had a couple more of these in me #and this is the first piece im making thats like an actual part of the story too rather than just setting stuff for fun #i wanna write something to go with it too but for now ill just sort of briefly explain the context in the tags here: #barnard has a pretty bad case of OCD and his compulsions have made it difficult to make friends in the past #he was never outright bullied or anything but people just didnt really have the patience to deal with it #he has compulsions that include stuff like walking through doors until it feels right and needing things to be perfectly aligned #which in group settings has lead to people having to wait for him to finish his rituals and join them #they might find it tolerable at first but eventually they grow impatient and hes just... not invited to stuff anymore #but juno is a newer member of the guild who ends up frequenting the same library. hes also kinda a little weird #and they dont become fast friends or anything but just sort of naturally spend time in the same place #though they never plan meetups they eventually fall into a routine. around the same time theyd just both be at the library #and read next to each other. and maybe talk a bit. and eventually they end up walking back to the guildhall together #since theyre going to the same place after all. and juno always waits for barnard outside the door #eventually barnard asks if this bothers him. juno kinda just tells him 'of course it does' without any malice or anything. just a statement #barnard is surprised and apologizes and juno says not to. but the next day juno doesnt show up at the usual time. #barnard assumes hes committed somekinda more by bringing it up. he ends up staying there late reading to get his mind off it & not ruminate #but when he leaves juno is in fact still waiting for him down the hall (see pic) having collected a bunch of books literally abt ocd #he fell asleep bc barnard stayed later than expected. and hes an eepy guy generally. and also one very bad at expressing himself #but now barnard gets that juno's 'of course it [bothers me]' had the implication of 'but its worth it' which no friend has previously done. #and from the interaction juno was also able to understand that this isn't something barnard just does for the hell of it so. he studies. #and checks a bunch of stuff out because he thinks it could help his friend too (theres ocd workbooks and such- i remember working w them) #and thats the point where they became more ''friends'' than ''pleasant library acquaintances'' #from there on they also do get into juno's problems. whole other bag of worms. but this specific scene is more about bernard from his pov #sorry about when i said briefly explain. i lied </3 #but compared to the whole sequence im picturing its brief so shhh

pulling a 12 hour shift at the wood kiln this weekend kinda set me back with my shoulder/neck trouble i've been having. but i did go to pt yesterday and we tried dry needling for the first time (two in my left trapezius, on the top near my neck) and what the fuck. i dont understand how that all works and usually approach it with a healthy amount of questioning but my muscle released and i feel so much better. i didnt hurt when i got up today lol other than im sore where i got stuck (and yes im still doing my exercises im gonna get a good grade in dont screw your body up)

(we also think that muscle is the culprit for my nerve tingling in my hand, that reacted during the procedure and has also since improved)

#stupid rant is stupid #needles #dry needling #bodies are fucking weird #take care of your bodies yall or youll be in your early 30s on your 2nd major bout of pt #i have one extra visit to see how im doing in two weeks so i hope i can keep improving and not slide back again #like i will say dry needling didnt hurt except for when he took one of them out #i didnt feel them go in and felt pressure #but what was really weird was you target the contracted muscles and it makes them twitch and spasm a little to make them release? #so like the first one i got maybe three rapid twitches and the second one i got one really big one #which didnt hurt but it was surprising bc it was the spasm without the pain #like how your muscles twitch when tired or after a work out #and then it was like almost instant relief it was just. so weird. and i am open to having that done again if needed #and it didnt tighten up again over night i almost cried lmfao #anyways #it also made the muscles in my jaw relax too which was amazing #i carry my stress in my shoulders and neck lol
