found this (on wikihow of all places??) and it's kinda funny kinda frustrating how ppl treat narcissism and generally the concept of high- + low-empathy.

now obviously it's a quiz on fucking wikhow dot com forward slash relationships, not a huge deal, but even in environments specifically focusing on mental health i've heard ppl say this kinda shit. where everyone i don't like is an evil, manipulative narcissist, however i am a beautiful and kind empath who could never hurt anyone ever!

which ppl have already said before, it's p fucked up to single out a mental illness and act as though it means this person is inherently evil and just wants to hurt ppl (especially when NPD so often stems from horrible trauma!! especially in a place that is meant to be accepting of ppl's issues!!!!). it also affects ppl who don't have NPD, since 1. there are other mental disorders / conditions that affect empathy, and 2. ppl just naturally have different levels of capability for empathy????

like i'm just so frustrated w these sentiments being repeated and espoused by others (and the mental health professionals who do the same)

also lol @ these questions. being an empath is when you have 0 sense of self-worth and are always super nice to everyone. narcissism is when you are playing through an RPG and choose the meanest dialogue options every time.

but i guess it's because no one who takes this quiz wants to be diagnosed w NPD by fucking wikihow, so they make the answers super obvious.

I am loving the Pope requests I'm getting today. I also have no idea how to surf, I've never surfed before. I looked up how to surf on wikhow just for this but my brain is mush so I ignored the technicalities all together.

You and Pope rarely went surfing together. He was a pro and you preferred to sit on the beach and watch. Despite growing up on the island you'd never learnt to surf, something jj teased you about constantly.

This time was different, Pope had made it his mission to teach you how to surf. You met him early in the morning at the beach, the sun was coming up and the seafront only had a few other people walking along admiring the the sun glistening on the water.

Pope stood on the beach and grinned at you when you arrived. He offered you his surfboard and went through the basics with you. He was eager to teach you, he wanted to be able to have surfing dates with you and have one more thing in common that you could talk about.

After a lot of wiping out, you finally caught a wave without falling over. Pope yelled compliments from the sidelines, hyping you up with everything in him.

Once you were back on the sand you ran over to Pope with a grin, the same energy as a small child who'd just got given a sticker. Pope held up his hand and you smacked yours against it, the pain radiating throughout your palm when you pulled away. You grimaced and looked at Pope, laughing when his face mirrored your expression.
