🪡 BLOG TOUR + BOOK REVIEW 🪡 I'm thrilled today to be hosting a spot on the blog and bookstagram tours for THE SEVERED THREAD by @leslie.vedder, hosted by @tbrbeyondtours! This book releases on 7 Feb from @razorbillbooks @penguinteen. Thanks so much to the publisher for my copy! I had been wanting to read The Bone Spindle ince it came out, so when I saw this tour opportunity, I jumped at the chance to participate. I read TBS and The Severed Thread back to back, and what a ride it was! This is one of those rare instances -- rare, at least, for me -- where the second book in a series surpasses the first. I don’t want to say too much so as to avoid spoilers for either book, but I loved going on more adventures with Shane and Fi so much! Shane and Fi are so great together, and I loved seeing their relationship develop into a partnership based on trust and, eventually, true friendship. There is also romance, and while there is instant attraction between Fi and Briar and between Shane and Red, it’s really not instalove -- both relationships are allowed to develop over the course of two books, and I can’t wait to see where they end up. I enjoyed the adventure aspect of TST even more than I did TBS, which is saying a lot! And holy cow, the cliffhanger ending of book two has me biting my nails and wishing I had book three in my hands right now! If you are a fan of fairy tales, retellings, gender swaps, fractured tales, budding romance, fierce female characters, puzzles, and good old adventure, you should pick this series up! I would literally recommend this to any and every reader. All The Ever Afters by Danielle Teller . What do we think about retellings? It seems lately there have been so many coming out, it’s hard to keep track. ✨Book Review-QUEEN OF HEARTS✨ Happy Monday bookworms! I hope you had a nice weekend and have a good week ahead of you. I’ve been trying to complete an alphabet book title reading challenge, so for the letter Q I listened to Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes on audiobook! The book tells the story of the Queen of Hearts as a teenager, before she becomes queen of Wonderland. I always enjoy new twists from a classic tale, giving a new backstory/POV to Chan archers especially “villains.” Unfortunately this one was just okay, I didn’t love it or hate it. It might have just been that I was listening to it but I had a hard time getting into the story. It was really slow paced with not a lot happening with the plot or character development. I did enjoy the small nods to the Alice in Wonderland story throughout the book! I realized halfway through that it’s actually part of a trilogy so the first book is mostly giving backstory and most likely setting up for the rest of the series action, and reasoning why the Queen becomes who we see in Alice in Wonderland. I probably won’t continue with the series given my feelings about this one. Hi everyone, how you doing? Hope you’re doing amazing. On this beautiful day I’ll bring a book review of “Foul is Fair” by Hannah Capin a retelling of Shakespeare’s tragedy “Macbeth”. In this one we follow a young woman, Jade, who’s seeking revenge against a group of boys who in a party drugged her and committed sexual assault on her.

Jade and her three friends come out with a plan, use the purest of them all, the one did not attend the party and take each and every single one of the boys who have committed a crime against any girl. Slowly Jade infiltraste into the group of friends and the new school, fulfilling her revenge.

This book was amazingly writing, its prose reminisced Shakespeare’s. The story was a smart, powerful story filled with such a female power and strength. Seeing how with each page Jade and her friends gather together to show boys and men that there’s no way they’re gonna get away with hurting, damaging people with no consequence.

This books is brutal and doesn’t shy away of its repercussions and how men uses their privilages and abuse their power against all. But also that women are not damsels and they have a fight in them to reckon with.

This book is such a masterpiece and if you like feminist stories this book is for you.

🌀Underrated🌀 Entwined | Heather Dixon Wallwork @story_monster Published: @greenwillowbooks | Pages: 472 | Rating: 5/5 🌀🌀 #QOTD: What book do you think is underrated? 🌀 It’s captivating from the beginning! Entwined is a retelling of The 12 Dancing Princesses. It was very well-written. From what I believe the synopsis of this book does not really give you the entirety of what the book is about. Now I know, what is the point of the synopsis giving you everything, when you can just read the book? But that is not what I mean. What I mean is that the book feels like so much more than what the synopsis gives. It does mention about her about to have it all, but when you begin to read it, it does not give you the sense that she is very excited about it, she is more nervous and down (which is completely understandable, considering her situation.) Then she sees Lord Bradford, which there is an automatic connection there. But it is not an insta-love, because she even mentions him before she sees him. Then the story progresses and continues to be captivating. The King or as they call him “Sir” has a huge character development which is amazing. Now, for a while I was confused about the ages of them all (well most of them), in the end I did get a vague sense of their ages. I loved both Bramble and Clover. I probably loved Bramble more than what I did Azalea, just because of her wit, but in all, each and every character was really well-built and I liked them each. This story is definitely one of a kind. I actually wonder how this does not have more recognition. It is a very well-known book but I haven’t seen many posts about it. I also have to shamefully admit, I did judge the book by the cover. It is actually what drew me to see what it was about. It is an amazing and really pretty cover.. I really want to read the other books by Heather as well. 🌀 Have you read this? It was refreshing, magical, and epic YA fantasy filled with legends, curse, and adventure. It was fantastic YA retelling and mythical fantasy that revolved around Princess Shiori and her six brothers turned into Crane trying to break their curse and save their kingdom. The story was about family, friendship, love, betrayals, trust, magic, power, greed, resilience and courage. Plot was full of curse, magic, adventure, politics and secrets. First half of the book was super-fast paced with introduction to characters, world, curse and it’s effect, and characters trying to find a way to lift it. While the second half was about romance and revelations. All characters were amazing and interesting. Family dynamic was my favourite aspect. Loved Shiori and Takkan. World was best part of the book. It was amazing the way author seamlessly woven retellings of Grimm’s The Six Swans/Andersen’s The Wild Swans with East and West Asian folklores.
