This is a bit cringe honestly, but my mom and I are absolutely OBSESSED with your work. We have both been for years. We don't connect on a lot of things, but your art is on the things we just mutually adore.

I was just looking through old text messages, and I saw my mom praising your work a ton. I remember when she got me my WACOM art tablet, and Clip studio subscription, she said, " I checked out that Wolfy person's speedpaints and this is the program they used! " She was so excited

I remember I saved up to buy some of your art prints, and my mother ended up going shopping with me to get the perfect picture frame for it. It took a LONG while since the measurements were a bit odd, but she helped me find the right ones.

They both hang right in front of my face at my art desk.

She would look through your socials and excitedly show me whenever you posted. My middle aged mother who had mostly.. not art stuff on her feed had your stuff sprinkled in there too, yknow? it was reallt neat to witness.

It was a world she didn't really understand, but the sheer beauty of your art was able to pull her into it.

I had begun my career as a digital artist a few years ago, because of the support I was able to get from my mother. She was opened up to this whole world, and understood it, partially because of your work.

I'm remembering all of this because I had a friend come over recently, and she pointed out one of my prints and asked about it.

Hi Finch! Hope you're doing well! I was wondering, since you work in animation, do you still consume art & animation content with same interest and enjoyment as before? Like, in school, for example. And do you have time and interest for it in the first place? Simply put, is it still good to be in this industry where you have to watch cartoons (I mean, probably you should know what's new coming up etc.), see what other people doing in art and their careers to keep abreast and not because you sincerely interest in it. Sorry if the question is somehow too sad haha

Why asking: I'm trying to figure out what to do for living. I grew up online, I love the art community here and I love my online life, if that make sense. I'm 23 and work at aquarium store, we have fish and reptiles here and I see how my coworkers passionate about this sphere: they keep a bunch of terrariums, they know a lot about reptiles, how to build good aquascape ect. But I'm starting to understand that this is not what I'd like to be around all the time, like, I consume a lot of related content and don't have much time to look up for news in animation or just what my friends have drawn lately. So I've been thinking, maybe if I go back in something close to my habitual online life I'd be more satisfy.. so I'm just interested in your thoughts and experience. Yea I definitely still enjoy consuming art/animation! It's the best thing about the job tbh. It's nice to feel excited and inspired by anything new and awesome the industry releases, and what your friends and colleagues are getting on with. My absolute favourite part of being an animator is attending events, like Annecy festival for eg, and really feeling like a part of the magic.

I feel like this year especially felt like that for me, because so many inspiring things came out for me this year. Really feels like new and creative projects are being made, even by the bigwigs, n in the age of AI that's especially hopeful

I will say though, ofc it's different for everyone, but tbh I've found that, for me and my friends, we do kinda wish we didn't make our hobby our career. I still enjoy animation, but now it's a Job, and something I have to do 40+ hours a week, and it's hard to do anything for that length of time and still enjoy it fully yknow.

I enjoy it in the sense that I'm proud to be a part of this industry that has so many awesome artists and people in it, who all try so hard and really believe in something. It's easy to feel like you aren't making a difference and that life is mundane, with any job, but when there are big milestones in the community, or you attend an animation festival and meet everyone else just trying to make good work like you, it's nice and fulfilling.

Idk, I feel like any job can become a slog, but I keep thinking at least mine's a cool one that people think is impressive LOL

I have a tarot reading request about my work + social life situation. I am basically burnt out from my job to the point that I'm unable or unwilling to accept even thanks or praise. Most of it relates to my manager, who has an imprecise yet emotionally blunt and at times exacting manner of communication that feels tailor-made to make technical discussions nearly impossible (I am a software engineer, and a fairly sensitive person. He is a military veteran who believes strongly in doing the fastest thing that works, and has been known to critique people to their face openly in group settings.) So I know the "correct" thing to do is grind up my LeetCode and start job hunting … but that would mean sitting down with a traditional data structures & algorithms text when I feel like I would much rather invest myself intellectually in my pipe dream of learning mathematics / getting, someday, to participate in the new univalent foundations of mathematics (maybe even as a programmer.) At the same time, the usual outlets I might have of getting to go for long walks / socialize on weekends feel increasingly out of reach, since I live in the outskirts of my city and the public transit authority there has been cancelling the trains for shuttle buses for most weekends, for what is going on 2 years now (at least since after the pandemic.) Having to ride buses instead of just hop on a train on weekends, for promised signal improvements that feel like they will never come, is slowly killing any sense of spontaneity and connection with casual human society outside of work for me. And even thinking about moving feels impossible (I have a housemate, my sibling, who I love dearly but I'm just not sure I want to commit to another 3-5 yrs. of cohabitation with.) Every direction in which I might reasonably turn for some vision of life outside of the cramped, artificial one where our company is super great! and everything is super exciting! despite the burnout and the constant reorgs and the whole new managerial clique we just got that's in charge of everything now, and, and, and … feels increasingly closed off. How long do you think it will take to design the language? There are so many words, or rather things that need to have words. Do you anticipate this being a project that lasts months or years, or do you have a secret cheat code I haven't thought of?

Also, will the conlang feature loan words from other languages? How about exceptions to grammar rules? Will we be creating a new alphabet?

Being a bit nitpicky here, I'm the one who thinks of the polls and writes them out. So of course it can't be helped that some things can't be voted on. 🧠

Other than that, some words I will choose to be in the language, but for the majority you guys have control over the project. We post, you vote.

I do have a plan for creating word posts/polls (sort of?). I'll let you guys know pretty soon when we get there. A lot of the plans I have are very open to change, depending on the results of the polls.

From there, it can be further expounded upon by the community. If enough people are interested, I might use other services like Reddit, Youtube/Rumble videos, Memrise, etc to continue this project later on.

If people from different/foreign language backgrounds like this idea, we could make a pictures-only Memrise course and a Discord to communicate with each other? Just throwing things out there. 🤔

Language evolves over time, and I want to emulate that with these styles of posting.

Not necessarily an alphabet, but yes. The choice of "using an existing system" vs "creating our own system" will not be voted upon. I prefer we have our own writing system-- in my opinion it makes it feel more like its our own thing, yknow?

However, that doesn't disallow it from looking similar to existing writing systems. For typing on computer, alphabets can be done with a custom downloadable font file. Or if it is an abugida, logographic, featural etc., we can use English letters while typing to Anglicize the writing, and then use our own writing system in drawings/pictures. It sounds complicated right now, but that's because lots is open to change while this project is just starting.

Me was struck with a thought: To all the boys I’ve loved before MERGWENTHUR EDITION???

Something something like Gwenthur is happily married in s5 & they find 2 lettters: one addressed to Arthur & the other addressed to Gwen. And they are LOVE LETTERS or poems or whatever or love notes. Written by whom, you ask? MERLIN. Either the clumsy idiot signed his name somewhere or they recognise his hand writing style (maybe since Merls sometimes writes Arthur’s speeches)

So, the 2 just look at each other like O_O uhhh, so with which one of us is he in love rn? Or is he even still in love with us or did that crush subside already as we speak? So they set out to figure out if Merlin is still in love with them through dinners, picnics (Mergwenthur picnics are best picnics), subtle hints like do you have a love at the time, Merlin? Or haha even bolder as in Merlin, we were thinking of taking a third person to bed with us (just to spice things up or another excuse: oh, Merlin, yknow how us newlyweds can be. We’re so full of *energy* & *excitement* that Gwen can barley keep up with me!), so would you know anyone or would you YOURSELF be available? (since he IS still the king's manservant & Arthur could technically convince him that this counts as *serving* his king too lol). They could also try dancing with him, that would be sooo cute!!

But Merls is ofc super oblivious & also thinks they’re off-limits bc they’re married which is probably also the reason why he never told them abt being in love with them or why he never sent those lettters. So, they just come clean at the end & show him the love letters/notes/poems & hes so embarrassed & angsty abt it. Maybe he thinks that they just wanted him exposed in a mean kind of way or are uncomfortable knowing abt his feelings or he’s just plain embarrassed bc they found the letters (I’d lock myself in my room like a loser if that ever happened to me haha)

I've enjoyed chibnall's era more and more the further I got (season 11 still definitely isn't anywhere near my favorite, but liked it a LOT more than I did on my first watch, knowing the foundations it was laying), and I LOVED the first episode of season 13! SO much! I haven't gotten further but I really wanted you to know haha, it's fun, it's exciting, it's got awesome new characters -- I so wish chibnall had gotten into the groove a little sooner, because this is exactly what I hoped his era to be! imagine if we could have gotten 3 full seasons on the same level... ahhhh I'm super excited to watch the rest! especially since several of the episodes you mentioned were your favorites are from season 13 -- and the first episode isn't even one of them!

Ahhhh oh my days hi hi hi!! I am SO so happy that you've enjoyed s12 so much! I think s12 honestly might be one of my favourite seasons of doctor who (although there are a lot of excellent contenders), simply because it just inspired me so much. There's so much to dig into. And yesss I think s11 works a lot better in context of the rest of it, which is super interesting. Actually, honestly, it all works SO nicely as a whole unit, which is super satisfying - to me, at least - but I suppose that hampered it when everything first aired, because we didn't have the whole picture (but also, that is how tv works sometimes ksksk - there were and are a LOT of bad faith viewings of this era, and it makes me so sad because I know that the moment you dig into it you start to realise just how rich this era has been). But yknow, what you say about s11 is interesting, because I do know a lot of people who really love it exactly as it is and always have - there are quite a number of people who got into Doctor Who because of s11, so I think, whilst there are things I don't like about it, I reckon Chibnall did approach it in a particular way with a particular intent - and it worked for some people, but less for others. And like, in a similar vein, I've actually found myself defending Moffatt of all people lately, despite the fact that I really don't enjoy like, two of his seasons, as well as a lot of things that he tends to do. But it's because I think like....hm, I guess I've lately found it really helpful to remember that all the writers are just humans who are putting stories and art out into the world that they want to create, and are sharing it with us - it's never going to be perfect, despite how much we want it to be. And there's always something of value in each era, right? Each of the main showrunners we've had since 2005 have had strengths and weaknesses, and there's something about each era that I absolutely adore. That said, there's definitely value in expecting better in certain degrees - but then you get people making hour long videos about how the show sucks now and I get so tired skskks

BUT YEAH sorry for rambling, your ask just got me thinking thoughts - much more importantly, you've got THE REST OF FLUX TO WATCH ahhhHHH have FUN!! War of the Sontarans is next and oh my daaaaays i love that episode SO much (I literally said as much earlier today and my coworker was like 'yes taka i know you love that episode' SKKSKSKSKSK SO. YKNOW) but honestly I just adore Flux. It's got such classic who vibes - I've started watching some classic lately and it's so funny seeing what inspired a lot of the structure/style of Flux (like the STUPID CLIFFHANGERS oh my days we need MORE of those). So I really hope you enjoy the rest - and the specials too!! Obviously this was punishment for the other night. You never warned him you had a small jealous streak in you that was disguised well enough to go undetected up until now. It's truly not his fault that newbie was coming onto him so hard. He was oblivious to these types of things and you should know that well enough by now. He figured they were having a friendly conversation and had a pretty good amount of stuff in common with each other. Reality didn't sink in until he got a text from them later that night stating" Hey, got your number from Ojirou in the finance department. Was wondering if you'd be free Tuesday for a date?

Now, even though he turned them down rather viscously over the phone, he was still having to deal with the aftermath of it which included you messing with him.

As soon as the meeting ended, he waited for everyone else to clear out before grabbing you by the arm and staring you down. You only replied with that same annoying smile on your face. "What?" You tilted your pretty little head to the side. "You know what. Don't play coy with me. You've been ignoring my texts and left the apartment early this morning without me. You haven't thought to brew a single cup of coffee for me even though you've been doing it every week since we moved in together. And this little outfit of yours...you know what it does to me. I can't focus so I'll ask you just once why you're doing this to me. Is it the new recruit for feel good? Hmmmm, you can't stand the thought of me connecting so well with another person?" There it was. That little twinge of annoyance falling across your face as you sneered for a moment and looked away. "Let go of my arm. Chitose invited me out for lunch and I'm going to be late."

"You know it's just you, right?. You know I love only you and care for only you. Being jealous is preposterous when it involves me. I'll have you know, I could barely stand to tolerate another person in my direct vicinity until I'd met you. I've been working on myself slowly and trying to connect better so please forgive me if I was blind to the fact another human being could possibly ever find someone like me attractive. I was not trying to humor their advances on me." He apologized as he lightly pulled you into a hug. "Could you attempt to forgive me? You're getting on my damn nerves with this."

"Hmmm, maybe if I can get a whole day to you with just me and no work involved...Deal?" You look up with hopeful eyes. "Fine. Deal, now cut this behavior out please. And never wear that outfit again less you want the consequences to involve you not coming into to Detnerat tomorrow."

“haha… well.. to be honest, i didn’t think i would be doing such things during my trip to fontaine..” childe chuckled, scratching the back of his head as he read over the details on lyney and lynette’s upcoming magic show.

“i assure you, mr tartaglia, that these stunts are 100% safe to perform, we just need somebody to help us test it before we perform it live.” lyneys inviting and assuring voice was hard to turn down. he stood patiently as the harbinger thought to himself.

“there’s no point wasting our time if he doesn’t know what he wants to do himself, lyney. let’s find somebody else.” lynette suggested, in her usual cold tone.

before the twins could walk away, he stuttered;

“y-yknow what sure! i’ll help out! maybe it could benefit my combat skills in some way…” he muttered the last part under his breath, handing lyney the paper back eagerly. “when do you need me?”

several days had gone by, and today was the day childe had agreed to go in and help the twins by testing out their magic tricks, to childe, it was just something he wanted to get over with. it’s not like he had anything better to do, maybe he could learn something new.

“ah, you’re here!!” lyney cheered at the sight of him, rushing over to greet him properly. “it is my honour to have you here, tartaglia.”

“yeah, it’s no problem.” he said unenthusiastically, “what exactly will i be testing?” his eyes scanned the room, various objects laid around the stage.

“well, my main focus today is going to be that.” childe followed with his eyes as lyney pointed over to a prop in the middle of the stage, what seemed to be some sort of hanging tank, with three holes in the bottom. “there’s just a few things we need to verify, so please, if you don’t mind.” lyney softly guided childe over to the prop. “now, please do not fret, for we assure your safety. please place your head and hands into these holes.”

childe held back a yawn, allowing lyney to lock him in place. it was quite an embarrassing position, he felt defenseless, which was not pleasant. now he stood, with his head and hands both trapped.

“perfect!” lyney exclaimed, walking over to childe. “now please excuse me, i have to get a feel for the proportions of your body. is that alright?” the magician held out his hands, being sure that childe was okay with it beforehand.

“go ahead, do whatever you want to me.” he said, trying not to sound flat. lyney proceeded to grip onto childes hips, feeling around his torso. childe flinched, holding back a grunt.

“are you alright, mr tartaglia? did i hurt you?” lyney asked, which a hint of panic in his voice.

“ahh.. no, you’re fine… just tickled is all.” he continued to hold back giggles of anticipation.

“i see. i’m very sorry but, i must do this for the magic trick, i need to replicate your body to use as a fake..” he said quietly. “i’ll try and go quick! just hang in there!”

before childe could reply, lyneys hands made their way back to his torso, feeling around and gliding across his shirt. now that childe realized the predicament he was in, he felt as if he was suddenly unable to hold in his laughter.

“ha…hahahaha!!” he cackled as lyney guiltily felt his way around childes most ticklish areas. just as his hands reached his ribs, childe let out a not so manly screech.

“i-i’m sorry mr tartaglia, is it really that bad?!” lyney asked frantically, “ah! wait! i have an idea! to make it go by faster, freminet, come help me measure his proportions!”

“okay.. coming..” freminet mumbled, it was almost like lyney was trying to tease childe.

“how much longer is this- AH!” he shrieked again as freminet felt along his arms, now two pairs of hands were mercilessly tickling him all over.

“AHAHAHAH WHAHAT THE HEHELL!” he squirmed, clenching his fists that were inside of the tank.

“i’m sorry! i’m so so sorry, hang in there!” lyney encouraged him.

not being able to move made it tickle so much more. as embarrassing as it was, he couldn’t stop laughing at each gentle touch.

alas, after a minute or so of gentle tickly touches, it was over. childe remained in the tank, catching his breath as lyney jotted down some notes in his book.

“i’m very sorry mr tartaglia for the inconvenience, but your help was just what we needed to perfect this trick.” he headed over to unlock the rank, freeing the tired harbinger.

“ha… no problem.. am i good to go?” he asked, a light blush coated his face.

“of course, thank you and have a goodnight!” and lyney watched as the embarrassed ginger raced out of the room.

your sweet svt drabbles are such an inspiration to me. I've been getting into writing fics slowly by writing just short ones off a single scenario, and i have too many prompts and ideas coming from my head (which is great !) that i already had laid out but i just couldn't find thee tempo to start. Soo I'm trying to get more inspo by reading around tumblr and to my luck i landed here! i found your writing style an exemplar to how i wanted to write (bonus if you'd like to give some writing tips? 🥹). Your drabbles looked effortlessly written, they're simple yet so expressive and visually evocative. Reading them makes me feel like it's easy to just get the idea off my head and picture it in words OK I'LL STOP HASJB it's literally midnight o clock (when the strong urge to give one of my prompts a shot kicks in)

honestly i dont rly know if i have any solid writing tips haha i like reading a lot since it can teach me a lot abt what i like in writing and what i dislike!! + reading helps u pick up on how other ppl describe things and how their writing flow. idk if that makes sense though. like... book i just finished (a death in tokyo) is very to the point and practical with its writing. it was written in a way that i could clearly envision a lot of things and my mind would fill in the holes since its set in a real world setting. other stuff i read might take care in describing things in more detail, but reading higashino's work kinda made me understand further how just plainly stating things can have its own power and paint a picture just as well--just depends on what you're writing and what kind of vibe it should have, yknow?

like. i wouldn't expect a thriller to have the same writing flow as a romance novel, but the gritty details can still have importance depending on what the topic is. little things like that. genuinely, imo, the best writers are those who read a lot and my advice is rly just to kinda read everything u feel safe w reading!!!

also i think ive said this a lot on wooahaes but ive also been writing since i was like. 11. if not younger lol so ive had a looooootta time to practice and refine and get to where i am now and i'll still be improving into the future hopefully!!!

other than that... hmm...

i'll admit this one isn't something everyone can do (and obvs no shame to ppl who can't!) but i always try to envision the space i'm writing and the people within it.

i think for me personally, i care a lot about the physicality of whoever i'm writing? if they're nervous, are they acting shifty? are they wringing their hands? is this a situation they want to get out of, or are they nervous because they're kinda excited for what's to come? how are they vocally, too? are they the kind of person who rambles when they're nervous, or do they get really quiet? is it obvious, or will it seem normal if they're quiet/chatty?

like... with the mark lee drabble where he's nervously dragging out the question of "what if we kissed?" it was kinda important to me to just kinda have him dragging it out because once he says it, there's no way to take it back, and once he says it, the nerves take over in a "and now i must ramble, lets talk about anything but what i just said, so the aquarium-" where even though we don't SEE mark, we still can tell he's a nervous wreck over it all. its little things like that that just kinda stick out to me?

mmm but for my drabbles specifically... i think i kinda function off the fact that i'm not writing an actual fic here? if i wanted to write something longer, i'd put it on wooahaes (and sometimes i do! i've had a couple fics now i was gonna just post as a drabble but then they kinda ran away from me). i've deleted parts of drabbles before because i felt like they were getting too irrelevant. the point of a drabble, to me personally, is to just kinda give somewhat a quick snapshot of a moment. i think my stuff usually takes place in a single place as far i can remember, because changing scenes makes it feel like a bigger thing (barring stuff where there was a short flashback).

i think it can help to have an idea of what you want to capture if you're writing a short drabble. reader/seungkwan caring for one another, minho teasing reader over the cats, reader trying to get one over on joshua (ft seungkwan). occasionally the more fantasy-ish stuff is like "merfolk reader in love w jisung" and "merfolk reader saving minho" or "android!shua being saved from the facility by reader" comes to me, too. i just kinda write purely by vibes and what i wanna write. idk if this helps but i usually do try to have some idea of what exactly i wanna do!! the times i have opened a post and closed it again bc i had nothing..................................... yeah

(obvs no shame in those moments ksdhfds i just always end up sitting there like. what was i doing again.)

good morning! ε(*´･ω･)з or, afternoon, i guess. haha. had a bad day yesterday. skipped dinner cuz i was passed out on klonopin though,, ^^;;; my mom got me a cup of strawberries today, so im going to eat those for breakfast after my weigh-in (which… im sure hasnt changed. but yknow).

relating to my last post, did some work on my left calf. i have tape and whatnot but it hurts so bad to walk on sometimes cuz its got two styros in close proximity to eachother. oops.

since im trying to cut back on my substance abuse, ill probably be having thc withdrawals. so i may be throwing up a lot and i may be unable to eat much. whiiiiich is a *good* thing, i guess, even though its like physical torture…… buuuut whatever! we will see. i think i remember losing some weight last time i tried to quit <:)

todays a better day with my fiancé. weve been having bad days. i think we are both just, like, crazy mentally ill. urgh, ive gotta call in all my prescriptions innabit :( i hate having to call for refills, but i only ever get a months worth since im on controlled substances. and 10 klonopin per bottle, per month. i usually take more than 1. blugh. anyway, i think thats everything. gotta shave my legs tmrw, guess im just gonna avoid the spot thats got tape n bandaids all over it? yeah. and i may just bandage it up completely so i can wear shorts since im going rollerskating. idk! ill probably just wear tights.

eating thai food tomorrow, ill let you guys know how it goes since its my first time. really excited to try it, even though i know ill overeat (￣▽￣*)ゞ

im just back to 155, btw. was back to 156 for a coupla days, felt like giving up, but im 155 today. so theres hope, maybe… ill try to do good today.
