Every woman is reduced to a Batboy bicycle at some point. It started when Babs was aged down to be more in line w/Dick's age. She was introduced as a love interest for Bruce. Nevermind her almost thing with Jay. Jay who was assaulted by Bruce's baby mama after she assaulted Bruce too! Or before she assaulted Bruce? Raven is another unfortunate victim of the de-age phenomenon recently. Even the women who are into women must be bedded by a Bat or two! Harley's been with Dick and Bruce. Ivy's been with Bruce, flirts with the boys. Zatanna was de-aged to be paired with Dick after Bruce. Some universes didn't bother with the de-aging. Those men share women like pairs of socks.
I can't complain too loudly though. I'd absolutely be ok with being a Batboy Bicycle.
If Dc could stop passing around friends and love interests that’d be great. No really. Just make new characters.

The Dichotomy of Grayson
"Dick was the happy Robin!" Yeah. Sometimes. "Dick was the angry, feral Robin!" That too! "Dick only has sex in committed relationships!" Mostly? "Dick sleeps with strangers." He's been known to. "Dick is a cheater!" Well, yeah, I guess, but let's not open that box tonight. "Dick was fired from Robin!", "No, Dick quit.", "No, it was you can't fire me, I quit!" Depends on the day really. Look, the character has been around a loooong time. You can justify just about any take on the character you want to write and back it up with canon text.
There are just a few rock solid character traits. 1) Dick believes that he can make the difference. Not a difference - THE difference. 2) Dick will prove to you that's the case, so don't count him out. 3) He loves love. He's cononically all about love and hope. That man LOVES powerfully, passionately, and completely. It's the character's greatest strength and weakness. That's why so many people interpret him as somewhere on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Why should color, creed, species, or gender make a difference to that kind of love?

The boys are back at it and on each others' nerves. This time Batman has to endure it.
Again, this is just mindless interaction bullshit between Batfamily members that crowd my mind and keep me from working on real stuff.

I didn't realize this was a thing! I would like a fannish next-of-kin. It's a heartwarming idea! I have unfinished stories, but maybe they wouldn't have to stay unfinished forever.
TIL that you can assign an AO3 next of kin to control your account in case of your death???

Great page. Couple of thoughts. 1) where did that bullet go? 2) It would be super funny of Dick has been upgrading his suit over time without thinking to mention it to Bruce. 3) Of course he didn't fall down! You never taught him how. 4) I low key believe that Dick has super strength without realizing it. Like when Shawn was in danger and he held that stone pillar weighing god knows how much for God knows how long on a broken ankle.

Prophesied
SUMMARY
Dick Grayson is alive. Probably. Technically. He’s five years out of sync with the rest of his estranged family and there is this little boy he really doesn’t want to have to kill. Everything else is a bit of a mystery, including what the hell he’s supposed to do now. Alfred Pennyworth hires him to solve this mystery.

Don't Read My Mind
I'm having some thoughts about this panel. This one line in particular. It comes from Titans(2016) - #19. The Titans were trying to help Donna and shit went sideways so the Justice League shows up to shut them down. Wally's power is fritzy and Donna's not herself at the moment. Batman has started to question Dick's leadership in front of the entire team and Dick walks away. Then there is this throw away line from Batman "Don't Read My Mind".
Why not, Batman? What would she find out about you that you don't want Dick to know? First of all, isn't it already established that Batman can block mind reading efforts - unless he's super distressed. Context clues want the reader to think that this is Batman being Batman, but it's something else entirely.
He's afraid. He's worried that this is the time he's pushed too far. He's here insisting that Dick shut down the Titans, the ONE thing that Dick has put passion into beyond his own career. One of the major, original sources of conflict between the two of them was Robin choosing the Titans over Batman, in Bruce's mind at least. He could lose Dick, again, over this. Nightwing doesn't walk away when Batman is speaking. Nightwing stops when Batman calls to him. Dick isn't being the good soldier this time.
Truthfully, Batman knows that while Dick's team dropped the ball optically, they did the right thing by helping a friend and that the Justice League would've made the same calls. No one would have dared call them on it, either, despite the genuine risk to the greater population. He can't say that. What he can say is, what he says on the next page. It's hard to run a team of demi-gods. Optics are important, results be damned. Dick soon asks "Have I disappointed you?" and Batman says nothing. In Dick's mind, he's despairing. He failed Bruce again. He failed his team, he failed in front of his heroes. He isn't good enough to do what he does at the scale that he wants to do it on - the Titans will never be good enough. He failed everyone. Again.
Batman isn't disappointed. Batman is glad Dick stopped to listen to him just one more time. Batman is glad Dick heard what he was saying, but more glad that Dick stopped. This time, he stopped walking away. He didn't disappear off the face of the Earth to re-emerge as someone else. Batman doesn't want the mind reader to tell Dick the truth: He's terrified that Dick will leave him again. Dick is in the right here, even if he took some chances. His team was in the right.
Trouble is, Dick has to be better than right. Nightwing has to do it cleaner than anyone else. He has to be more transparent than anyone. Someone is going to have to be able to call the League on their bullshit. That will be Nightwing, but first he's got to do it by the book every time, feelings and loyalty be damned. In Bruce's mind, the very first loyalty damned will be Nightwing's loyalty to Batman. Someday. He'll push too far and Dick will use the ethics / standards Bruce impressed on him since he was eight and disappear forever. Just not today, it seems. Look at the art for a second. Bruce and Dick only see each other obscured by shadows. Really their logos, their professional identities, are the only thing they see of each other at this point. Nightwing is turned, storming away from Batman. It isn't until Batman calls Nightwing by his real name that they start to see each other. Now it's Bruce and Dick in the light. If that is not symbolic of a whole hell of a lot between them and their personalities, I don't know what is.

You think you know a show. You invite it into your home and you introduce your family to it. 15 years I stuck by that show. Angles falling. British Men of Letters. Parallel worlds. Garbage. Garbage i offered a place at my table. Then that show ended without that man getting touched by that angel. I don't even know who it was anymore and I dont think I ever did.
Queercoding in early supernatural compared to late supernatural is soooo funny to me cause in season 5 its like heres ben edlund making an incredibly layered episode with subtle nods to destiel to get past censors that people write essays about to analyze its themes. Now heres season 12 where cas just said i love you and it cut to dean three times in a row but the show is just gonna pretend it didnt do that

It's 7:32 pm and I'm trying to force a story idea rather than let it come together organically because I've got exactly an hour to write.
do me a solid and just reblog this saying what time it is where you are and what you’re thinking about in the tags.

Summary:
Dick is adjusting to being alive again and not doing well. Jason just happens to be making a grocery delivery and can't, in good conscience, leave him like that.
Notes:
Specifically for a couple of fans of the larger series, but you don't really have to have read other parts to get the gist. Explicit rating. Explicit sex. All the explicit sex warnings.

I LOVE how they went out of their way to draw Dick looking like a little boy here. That's how Bruce sees that grown ass man.

He's most likely to die for Bruce OR, canonically, most likely to kill himself or try for failing Bruce. Though they've walked that back in recent years. Both have had therapy I guess.
You think it ever just staggers Bruce when Dick openly expresses his devotion like it's nothing? Just saying "I'd die for you" right in Bruce's face? Like I know Bruce would throw himself into a volcano for Dick, but he's more about actions than words. Dick is about both actions and words. And I think it would mildly horrify Bruce to hear Dick say that he'd sacrifice his life for him without a second thought, because he believes Dick is better than him and how is he supposed to live if Dick died for him?
I'm saying Dick is the most likely batkid to die by sacrificing himself for someone and I'm saying it would definitely be for Bruce. I'm saying Bruce would never recover from that.
Anyway yeah they're both insane and sick and Codependent As Hell and I need therapy

I’ve been keeping up with your jaydick fic series for so long and I can’t believe it’s actually finished!!!! That pay off!!!! So so good!!!!! I gotta ask, do jaydick officially get together to raise the kid?????
Thank you so much for keeping up with the series. Its been a few years now, right? That's huge! My intention is that JayDick do eventually get together, but, of course, after some soul searching about the vigilante life and a lot of self-acceptance! The slowest of burns. But the reader is always welcome to interpret it however it makes more sense / means more to them.
