NSFW: Bunny sex lives are mentioned in this post.
I know it’s been forever since I last posted anything, and I’m sorry for that. Life has been pretty crazy over the last year, and I haven’t had much time for anything I want to do. I am going to try to post at least one entry in this blog a week from now on. If I can, I will do more. Today, however, I want to share a story with you.
When I was a kid, we raised rabbits. We sold them as pets to bring in extra money. One day we were given this beautiful caramel colored rabbit with chocolate seal point makings. He was gorgeous and we knew that if we had more like him that we could sell them. So, we did what we always did when we wanted to breed one of the rabbits, and we put him in a cage with a healthy female rabbit. Most male rabbits go crazy when a female is introduced to them, and they have their bunny way with her very quickly. He did not do this. He hopped over to the female, licked her head, and snuggled up beside her. He had no interest in being anything more than friends with this beautiful bunny lady. We tried introducing him to other females in the hope that we might find one that he liked, but the same thing always happened. He just wanted to be friends with the girls. He had no other feelings toward them than that.
One day we moved into a cage that was next to another male rabbit, and finally he showed interest in another rabbit. He was head over heels in bunny love with his new neighbor. Sadly, his neighbor was not interested in him and stayed as far away as he could from him.
For anyone who’s thinking that we must have been wrong about the sex of this rabbit, let me explain a little bit about male rabbit anatomy. Adult male rabbits that have not been neutered have very large testicles, and they are impossible to miss. This rabbit was male.
After seeing this behavior, I told my mother, “That rabbit is gay.”
My mother insisted that that wasn’t possible, because she believed that being gay was a mental illness. Like so many boomers, she had been taught that people who were gay were either sick or possessed by a demon. She was wrong. No matter how many times I pointed out the fact that he was a rabbit and he liked other boy rabbits, my parent never believed it was possible for him to be gay. They let me keep him as a pet, but they never accepted what was right in front of their eyes. My parents were (and still are) fools. He was one of the sweetest, gentlest rabbits we ever had, and I loved him just the way he was.
I have always been grateful that we had that rabbit. He taught me something that my parents were fighting tooth and nail against me learning. He taught me that being gay is normal. That being gay is natural. That any species can be gay. It’s nothing to be afraid of, and being gay doesn’t mean someone is bad, or sick, or possessed. It just means they’re gay. Because of that rabbit I learned that sexuality is very complex, and we shouldn’t judge others if they’re different from us.
Given that today is June 1st and the beginning of pride month, I felt like this was a great time to share this story. I hope this might have opened your mind a bit to accepting someone for who they are, or maybe given you some peace knowing that someone you’ve never met accepts you as you are. Have a great day. Blessed be!
All negative comments will be deleted. I have no time, interest, or energy for trolls right now.
Side note: The rabbit in the photo is not the rabbit from the story.

It’s Satire Saturday again! This is the day when we talk about odd things related to witches and witchcraft. Since we’re still in the middle of winter, I thought it might be fun to explore the origin of one of my father’s favorite phrases during the cold months. Have you ever heard the expression, “Colder than a witch’s brass tit!” when the weather is particularly cold? Have you ever wondered where that came from? Well, it has nothing to do with old women wearing metal bras, even though the words conjure those images in a modern mind. Instead, it has to do with climate change, witch hunts, and money. I talk about it in my blog today. Follow the link below to find out more! https://www.theaviditywitch.com/2022/01/satire-saturday-colder-than-witchs.html Blessed be! #theaviditywitch #satiresaturday #phrase #colderthanawitchsbrasstit #wherediditcomefrom #pagan #witch #witchcraft #metaphysical #notwhatyouthink https://www.instagram.com/theaviditywitch/p/CYfp0r0rokT/?utm_medium=tumblr

THAUMATURGIST THURSDAY: Garnet Today is Thaumaturgist Thursday, the day make a post about the uses of stones in magic. I hope you enjoy this repost about garnets. Garnets are gemstones that come in various shades of red and are associated with fire. They are the birthstone for January, and are considered a very lucky gift, and very unlucky to steal. Centuries ago, they were used to drive away evil spirits and demons. They are said to be powerful protection stones that warn you of danger, bring harm to your enemies, and cause those who would harm you to become spooked and leave. Garnets are also good for love, especially in the form of passion. Because of this they are often used to increase the libido. Some people use them to attract a compatible companion. They can also be used to obtain power and wealth. In short, there are many uses for garnets in the magical world. I hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about January’s birthday. Have a great day. Blessed be. https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheAvidityWitch #theaviditywitch #thaumaturgistthursday #witchtip #gem #gems #gemstone #gemstones #stone #stones #witch #witches #witchcraft #magic #magicstone #magicgem #magicgemstone #magicstones #magicgemstones #metaphysical #wicca #wiccan #pagan #pagans https://www.instagram.com/p/CYaI_Fov9eR/?utm_medium=tumblr

Witchy Wednesday: Snowdrops For anyone who does not know or has forgotten, Witchy Wednesday is the day I post about herbs, spices, and other plants. I write both about their magical and medicinal properties. Some of the plants I write about are ones I am very familiar with and some I learn about as I write the post, so this is often a learning experience for me as well. Snowdrops, or Galanthus, are one of the birth-month flowers for January. It is thought to symbolize hope, purity, innocence, and sympathy. One of the unique traits this plant possesses is the ability to generate their own heat. They often melt the snow around them. They grow best in cooler, wetter climates, and bloom in the early spring. If you wish to plant snowdrops in your garden, you should plant the bulbs in well drained soil during the early fall. Since I live in a high desert climate and they do not like to grow here, I do not have any personal experience with snowdrops. It should be noted that snowdrops are highly toxic and therefore have very few medicinal uses. They are thought by some herbalists to ease pain and prevent memory loss, but there has been very little research done into the medicinal properties of the plant due to its poisonous nature. There are some people who say that eating the bulb of the Galanthus plant will slow the progression of Alzheimer’s, but I would not advise trying it due to the toxicity of the plant. Pregnant women should never handle snowdrop flowers because they are known to cause miscarriages through heavy bleeding. I wasn’t able to find many uses for snowdrops in magic. This is strange because the flower has folklore attached to it, and plants that have such a strong presence in folklore usually have multiple magical uses. In this case however, I was only able to find two uses: promoting peace and protection. Not much was mentioned on how they should be used for these purposes. I would advise caution if you decide to use snowdrops in a spell. The flowers are sometimes associated with bad luck, and things associated with bad luck can sour a spell. Well, I hope you enjoyed reading the first Witchy Wednesday post of the year. Stay safe and blessed be! https://www.instagram.com/p/CYXHKZtPbMk/?utm_medium=tumblr

MAGICIANS MONDAY: Candle Snuffers Today is Magicians Monday. On Mondays I try to explain the different types of tools and their magical uses. This is mostly for beginners to the craft, and I usually only cover the basics. Feel free to skip it if you wish. Candle snuffers are not thought of as magical tools, but they can be particularly useful when performing magic. Candle snuffers are designed to extinguish candles without damaging the wick. If the wick is damaged, relighting the candle can be difficult or even impossible. There are many types available for purchase. Some even have hinges so that you can use the snuffer in almost any position. I don’t currently sell candle snuffers in my shop, but there are many other shops that do sell them. If you would like to see the items I do carry in my shop you can do so by following the link below. https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheAvidityWitch Have a great week! SORCERY SUNDAY: Janus Today is Sorcery Sunday! For anyone not familiar with Sorcery Sunday, it is the day I post about a god or goddess. They can be from any culture or period in time. Today’s post is a slightly edited repost of the god Janus. The month of January was named for Janus and so it is only appropriate that we have a post about him for the first Sunday of the year. Janus is the Roman god of time. He has two faces and looks to the future and the past simultaneously. He presides over beginnings, endings, gateways, doorways, bridges, corridors, and change. He is believed to be one of the primordial gods or titans. When he is invoked, it is often done in association with another god such as Jupiter. The nature of Janus is one of the most debated topics among modern scholars, and because of that you find many different descriptions of who he was and what he represented. Well, that’s it for now! Blessed be! https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheAvidityWitch #theaviditywitch #sorcerysunday #god #goddess #pagan #romangod #romanpantheon #romanreligion #ancientrome #ancientroman #ancientromanreligions #witch #witchcraft #metaphysical #ancientromangod #ancientromanpantheon #Olympus #Olympian #Olympians #Olympiangod #godoftime #godofchange #godofdoorways #godofbridges #godofbeginnings #godofendings #godofgates #godofcorridors #Janus #January https://www.instagram.com/theaviditywitch/p/CYQljeRLbHN/?utm_medium=tumblr
