Most of the people in this pile are single, but I feel like they are the ones that have the most intense craving out of the rest to find love. And actually, your wish is already coming true as I speak, for I see a potential partner already in your mind; though I feel like this connection has taken place not too long ago, you’re already seeing them in your future, because they make you feel so happy and at peace every time you spend time with them… like a mix of extreme joy that makes your belly hurt from laughing, but also enough security that makes you light as a feather.

Well, continuing with the energy of the last question, it’s this same perfectionism that has led you to believe that you’re not good enough for them. The cards show that there’s an emotional blockage inside your heart that reflects false illusions, insecurities, instability, but mostly low self-esteem.

⋆𓆩✧𓆪⋆ And just like that, after going through a lot of heartbreak and sorrow, and looking around at all the couples around them, the main character smiled at the realization that the only person they ever needed… was themselves.⋆𓆩✧𓆪⋆

The sun as the main source of life and truth in our universe, promotes in any one of us individualistic behavior, to shine so brightly of our own energy that every type of codependence, illusion and weakness simply breaks down at the sight of our shiny rays of truth. However, this week by The Sun being reversed it indicates this blazing energy within us is dimmed, or completely eclipsed, representing difficulty in connecting with our own power and leaving us completely drained.

While this can signify someone falling into illusion to the point they become irrational, narcissistic, arrogant and overall vain, I feel like this week the main theme is in recharging ourselves again with our own truth. Maybe things haven’t been going the way we’ve expected, and after experiencing a lot of disappointment we might get riddled with existential sadness, wondering what’s the point of even trying if everything is going to fall to the ground.

Luckily, unlike The Moon, The Sun doesn’t really like cyclical stages, and it’s advising us to tap into the energy of the King of Wands to heal this energy within ourselves and be able to shine brightly once again. Maybe some of us need to allow ourselves some rest after overworking ourselves, or to start focusing on our dreams and desires more instead of trying to please everybody, maybe to even just try to have a more optimistic view of life; whatever we choose it’s okay as long as it follows the demands of our own inner sun with blazing energy and determination.

So, this week our homework is to follow our truths and desires as much as possible: Someone is crossing our boundaries? It’s time to shut them up. Want to take another chance at love? Our biggest enemies are negative emotions of ourselves like frustration, weariness and worthlessness, for they end up destroying our self confidence and creating an emotional fatigue that eclipses the beauty of life. By connecting to the way we individually feel enthusiasm, generosity, confidence and passion, we end up realizing that we don’t need to work hard to become god-like, for we already become divine by allowing ourselves to shine.

The week starts with moon in Anuradha. The moon at the midpoint of Saturn, makes today and the rest of the week especially good for devotional practices, connecting with other people, pursuing knowledge and attaining success through kindness! This moon gives us the enough stability and perseverance to be able to blossom beautifully in the dirtiest of ponds (which is why Saturn is known as the regulator and is exalted in the 7th house, always bringing balance).

☾ Blessings: Boldness and fiery determination that allow us to attain blessings! Even if we´re feeling down, by making the best of any situation and fighting to stay positive, we’re able to call upon the energy of the sun that allows us to heal ourselves and our surroundings, attracting success in any area.

☽ The Lunar Path of Emotions and Deception ☾

A short commentary and analysis on the dangers of ignoring our inner world.✧☾゜・。

Yesterday the moon was in Hasta nakshatra, the midpoint of the moon in Vedic Astrology. I decided to prepare before hand and study in depth about this sign as I decided to do a small spell in honor of one of my spirit guides, drenching myself in the lunar energies this nakshatra has to offer. However, in the process of doing so, I found that this opened my eyes to the negative sides the moon can have in our society and on ourselves, specially if we are students of the occult. I’ve noticed that, while this warnings are something every practitioner of magical or divinatory arts have always been taught of, we tend to sometimes forget this teachings the more we grow spiritually, corrupting our practice and leading us to delusion. This post is meant to work as a small commentary and an open discussion of the knowledge I’ve gathered, however, I encourage anyone who would like to give insights on this topic, so we can all protect and grow together.

Many religions and spiritual practices mention the importance of emotions as guides to both our inner and outer world, however, I first came to learn this teaching in a workshop on The Science of Acting, where my teacher through a methodology mixing psychology, Buddhism and theater showed us how, even if you’re not related to the arts, emotions and thoughts are singlehandedly the most important aspects in our experience as human beings. They define how we see the world, how we navigate through it and learn from it.

She also taught us the importance of meditation, for this was one of the most effective ways we are able to gain control over our minds, and therefore, our emotions. Before doing this, she describes we function as a car driving in autopilot, or a videogame character being controlled by someone else. This is because our inner world are our allies and friends, but require strong will and direction to function correctly, so, if they are not directed, they are the ones that take control completely. It’s this same control our emotions and thoughts take of ourselves that leads to a sense of instability, making us believe that certain emotions are bad for not being able to control them, when in reality they are just trying to show us parts of ourselves that need attention (anger being a defensive mechanism, envy showing an insecurity of ourselves we need to overcome, sadness telling us of past wounds we need to heal and let go of, etc.).

In the worst case scenario, this same lack of self-control sometimes leads to false ideas as “right and wrong” and “us against them” mentalities that mark the seed of the most dangerous ideologies the world has given birth to, and in the world of spirituality, to complete madness. Therefore, we must remember that our own senses and emotions work as tools for us to experience this reality and, as any type of tools, if you don’t learn how to utilize them or completely ignore them, they become rusty and difficult to use, sabotaging our progress.

This is especially dangerous in our modern world, when we are constantly stimulated and consumed by technology and social media, to the point in which it has become the norm to drown in them as a way to suppress or completely ignore our feelings. This is why it’s common while scrolling through Instagram or Tik Tok to find the occasional guy joking about “using every type of technology at the same time to impede any type of thought to appear”. As spiritual adepts, this type of numbing of the senses is very dangerous, for our emotions and thoughts serve as our guide while practicing any type of magical or divinatory pursuit, and, if left unchecked, they distort themselves and start showing us lies instead of divine truths. It’s in this way we take the risk of communicating lies while giving someone a tarot reading, perceiving false signs or “hearing” words without meaning in a séance, or believing we are cursed when in reality it’s just our mind making us paranoid at our own inability to accept certain faults in ourselves.

This is also why in the Tarot and in Astrology, The Moon signifies the mind, the unconscious, and our emotions, as well as lies, manipulation and any type of deception. At the same time, The 12th House in astrology, while ruling dreams, the astral, and overall spirituality, also rules energy loss, asylums and entrapment into one’s own distorted mind, correlating on how mental illness and madness are one of the possible outcomes of an individual losing control of its own mind while practicing spirituality. All this correlates to how in psychology, specially in Carl Jung’s theories, the more we don’t acknowledge, integrate and control our own mind, the stronger the hold it has on us, constantly telling us lies about the world and ourselves.

The mind and the unconscious, as the constant changing moon, are very susceptible and malleable to any kind of stimulation. We can specially see this with the discoveries on the placebo effect and, most recently, the rise on affirmations related to the law of attraction, where it’s shown how the mind is especially powerful if influenced by certain thoughts and stimuli long enough to either manifest something to reality or change your worldview, even if the conscious part of the psyche disregards this type of stimulation at first.

So, if our own mind and emotions are very flexible and everchanging in nature, it’s not so crazy to say that with that same lightness and flow it can distort and show us lies if left unchecked. This is why moon ruled nakshatras, while being the most prevalent in the occult world as the most powerful or influential practitioners of magic and divination, are also the main people to be called “charlatans”, for a lot of them choose the path of deception and crime instead of one based on enlightenment. And even then, in actuality most of the revered “masters” of magic and occultism are hated because, while at first actually being able to channel divine truths and communicate said truths to the masses, they ended up corrupting their knowledge and teachings with their ego, destroying their past wisdom by tainting it with falsehoods (which is why most of them have been exposed for being racist, antisemitic and misogynistic).

However, as mentioned before, this type of delusion is not exclusive to the occult practitioner, but also to the everyday man, affecting all areas of expertise. One famous example of this is Tim Burton with Rohini ASC (the birth of the moon among the nakshatras), who at the first years of his career was considered a genius who would revolutionize the film industry, as he channeled a few of his stories truthfully creating beautiful whimsical worlds that embrace emotion by creating scenery with the objective of making them seem like a living dream (his moon rulership). However, as he grew in fame, the public started to slowly realize how his stories started to become corrupt by his closed ideology and lack of control of his inner world, criticizing his films for only creating crazy characters with the sole purpose of being “not like other people”, lacking real substance and clarity.

This creates the question; how do we avoid this? How do we get to receive divine truths and not get deceived by lunar delusion?

The answer is, as said in the beginning, by connecting and acknowledging our own emotions and thoughts; to look them right in the face without judgement, accepting them and, most importantly, allowing ourselves to feel them. The mind, emotions, and unconscious (as our inner moon) need to be grounded first and cleared from darkness to be able to deliver spiritual knowledge or basic clarity. This is why the moon is said to once being one with earth, and now that they are separated, only shines thanks to the rays of the sun: without earthly grounding or solar direction, the moon completely loses herself in illusions. Whether this is done through meditation, therapy or any other type of spiritual practice would depend on the individual, but connection and direction is the key to clarity.

The next time you get to feel jealous of someone else’s success or appearance, ask yourself: why those emotions appear before you? What do they show about your inner world and past wounds? Or the next time someone angers you by showing a complete different political view than the one you possess, ask yourself: why does this anger me? Is it because their views don’t align with my version of right and wrong? Or it’s my ego wanting validation by trying to control someone else’s path?

As triggering as this acknowledgment may be to some, it’s necessary to be able to reach a higher state of spiritual mastery and overall mental peace, by training the mind to not waste excess energy in draining pursuits and to differentiate between truth and illusion. If you actually practice checking on your mind daily (as difficult as it may be) you’ll start to realize that certain emotions, whether “negative” or “positive”, will come up only at times when they need to show a part of yourself that you need to pay attention to. This level of awareness leads the path of mental clarity and heightened intuition, for if you get to know your own mind and emotions and the way they communicate in your internal world, you’ll get to realize that the practice of magic, divination, and connection with the divine suddenly seems to flow naturally, instead of being clouded by fogs of delusion.

This article compared to the last one was a bit improvised, for it was birthed through late existential talks with my friends and nights of deep thinking after watching videos related to the topic (lol) so I apologize if my point it’s not as clear as I would’ve wanted it to be, but I did my best. However I got to give credit to the articles and videos made by Claire Nakti, her teachings keep enlightening me and inspiring me to pursue knowledge in a whole new way.

Imbolc (also sometimes named "Candlemas") happens between the 1st and 2nd of February every year. It marks the midway point between Yule and Ostara, also known as the winter solstice and the spring equinox It celebrates winter coming to an end, to leave space for longer days ahead, and for new things to happen (since nature has been ''dead'' for the last few months, it is now time for it to "rebirth"!) What to do for Imbolc? Cleansing, planning new things and starting new projects is a great idea! Colors for Imbolc are: white, pale yellow, light green, brown, lavender, pink. Wear them, paint them on your nails, put some on your altar! Crystals for Imbolc are: amethyst, selenite, turquoise, ruby, garnet, bloodstone and onyx, peridot, clear quartz, moonstone. Take one with you if you can! Make plans for the upcoming spring! Be it planning your garden or activities/travels you want to do, make a bucket list, anything that has to do with planning something

Bake some bread, or make some soup! Leeks, onions and potatoes are really good during this time. You can even try this potato leek soup for this sabbat!

Have a cleansing bath/shower

Start a gratitude/mood journal! Try to keep it up for the whole year so when Yule comes around again, you can look back on it and reflect on your year. Collect snow for snow water! We won't have snow around for long now at this time of year so take advantage of it!

Start spring cleaning! Start sweeping out the old energies to welcome in the new ones

Although I always mention it in every post about sabbats, what is special about Imbolc is that some say it's a great sabbat to try new divination methods, or just not use the one you always use. Does this success feel good? Does it really satisfy you?

This card gives me the energy of an overachiever, someone who once they get what they want, instead of taking the time to rejoice in the rewards of their hard work, they start working on the next project already. Tell me, what’s the point in accumulating wealth, recognition, and success if you don’t allow yourself to breath and relax from time to time?

Transiting Sun enters Aquarius

Friday, January 20 - Saturday, February 18, 2023

This is going to be a busy Aquarius season, let me warn you straight off. The first week especially is almost dizzying. And I was only counting the major aspects!

This can be a very political time. In their book Astrology for Yourself, authors Bloch and George give as the Aquarius keyphrase, “My need to be innovative, original, and to create social change.” (Not necessarily liberal and progressive social change - that disgusting POS Ronnie Rayguns was an Aquarius.) We’re interested in novel solutions, thinking outside the box, etc., as we try to make the world a better place.

This is also a time of year in which we can consider our own unique individualities, compared to/with other people’s expectations of us. That may become a big concern, especially as the “month” moves on - January 28, when the Sun squares the North and South Nodes; February 3, when the Sun squares Uranus; and February 16, when the Sun is conjunct Saturn.

It almost feels like we start Aquarius season with high expectations, which are initially supported but gradually must meet a few important challenges. With the Sun’s final aspect being a conjunction with Saturn, we really need to pay attention to Saturn/Aquarius matters - personal integrity to oneself, and the responsibilities of being our authentic selves in our larger communities.

This week’s theme is delightful madness.

Whether we are waiting for personal projects to bloom, or some dreams we want to chase, The Fool and The Hanged Man tell us that it is time to act with the same innocence and lightness of a curious child; drowning in wonder and happiness as if it were the coming of summer and not the middle of winter.

Just last week we pulled The World reversed, asking us to leave everything that doesn’t serve us in the past, so we can begin a bright new future. If we did our homework and made the effort to follow this card’s advice, then a door opens before us, inviting us to rejoice in the endless possibilities that now lie ahead of us.

While The Fool is whispering seductively in our ears to go bunkers and to take a chance, The Hanged Man is trying to teach us this week the difference between times of contemplation and times of stagnation. Maybe all of our dreams and ideas have been petrified by past frustrations and personal dilemmas, but now things have changed. This week both of this archetypes are grabbing our hands and screaming at us: “GO WITH THE FLOW! So you finally get to taste the wine of happiness that is life itself!”

By looking at life from a different perspective, seeing the glass half full instead of half empty, we are suddenly bathed by the realization that at the end of the day, everything’s going to be alright and that all our worries are simply false illusions.
