Two of Swords Tarot Card Description

The Two of Swords represents the uncertainty we experience when faced with challenging decisions. The woman who is sitting in the Two of Swords card is blindfolded and has a sword in each of her hands. There is a sea in the distance, surrounded by crags and rocks that act as barriers for ships and vessels, slowing movement and motion. A scenario that hinders the woman from clearly seeing both the problem and the solution is represented by the fact that she is wearing a blindfold in the card.

The swords she is carrying in each hand indicate that there are two options that are mutually incompatible and lead in opposite directions. It could also represent a stalemate, in which case the issue needs to be solved using logic and reason. The Moon's position on the right side of the card may represent the function that deception and illusions play in the woman's struggle to make a decision.

When the Two of Swords appears in a reading, a stalemate is present. There appears to be no end in sight as two equal and opposing troops engage in combat. You weren't intending to end up here by chance, and now you find yourself in the thick of a conflict. This might go on forever if something or someone doesn't step in.

Tarot Readers and Artists of Tumblr!!!

I only have one deck and only do readings for myself, but my boyfriend is a collector of tarot decks and takes them out all the time to do readings for others in return for drinks. He's really good at it too, I bought him a deck for his birthday earlier this year and he absolutely loved it, the deck in question was by Micah Ulrich and it's gorgeous if anyone's interested.

Our anniversary is coming up and I've decided that I want to design my own deck of tarot cards for his gift. Don't worry, I already know how much work 78 illustrations are going to be, I'm prepared for it. My question is what approach you would take when designing your own deck? As stated above, I've only done readings for myself with a deck I've had for 7 years and I don't consider myself a prolific tarot reader - my boyfriend reads for anyone and he's pretty good at it, he read mine on one of our first dates and got me down to a T. I'm worried that my interpretation of the cards won't be the same and that my deck, although probably aesthetically beautiful, won't be as usable to him because of it.

What process should I take in order to create an easier to read deck? I've already opted for a simplistic artstyle, possibly including motifs from our hometown to give it a personal spin. But if you've made or are making a deck, what process did you find useful when creating it? Should I make sure every element of the traditional cards is present? Stuff like that.

Just general tips would be really useful while I'm still in the thumbnail stage. Thank you for at least reading this through.

Seeing you guys feeling abit bored this upcoming week, craving excitement and adventure, you might find yourself this week kinda feeling isolated from your friends or family, feeling that everyone is busy and no one has a lot of time for you, some of you guys might even be grieving a connection that ended recently and you feel that you have no one to talk it through with, finding yourself making spontaneous decisions such as booking flights or overspending alotttt (be careful with your money!) or overindulging in things that you know might not be good for you, feeling rebellious and planning how to bring yourself out of your comfort zone which is never a bad thing but be careful of people taking advantage of that or pushing your limits.

This week’s theme is beautiful symbiosis.

After days of hard work and heartache, we may come home tired with not much hope of our future getting better. We may sometimes look at the moon and the bright stars and, after making an honest wish, feel silly for dreaming the same way we did when we were kids. Well, I’ve come as a messenger of good news, for the shining sky has heard your silent wishes and is now delivering them sweetly along with a kiss in the forehead.

The World and the 2 of Cups describing this weeks energy tells us that ahead of us is a time of happiness, success and pleasure. While not necessarily calm, this are the cards that herald the attainment of our goals, bringing triumph at your doorstep… if you’re willing to answer the door. It is said that the reason a siren’s song was so deadly was because it described perfectly what your heart most desired, so the question of this week is: what would that song sound to you? And if you got to finally hear it, would you follow its sweet lullaby or let the opportunity pass you by?

This week we are being asked to go with the flow, to allow ourselves to drown in the sweetness of the endless possibilities that lie ahead of us and trust with our whole hearts that everything is going to be alright. However, the 2 of Cups tells us that our way to success can be achieved through connections and reconciliations:

Continue to work on YOU by striving to be disciplined and more in harmony with the elements around you and you will be rewarded in financial abundance. You’ve learned that hard work does in fact pay off and you should be proud of your achievements. The road that got you to this very moment was FAR from easy, but you did it! During times like these, I’m sure we’re all struggling financially. Instead, allow money to flow without stress or anxiety attached to it. It’s necessary to splurge and pamper yourself sometimes. Tarot of the week: Ace of Cups and Ace of Swords

I bought a new self care journal recently that focuses on celebrating and nourishing your mind, body, and spirit, and the first two questions asked are: “How does the feminine (or internal) show up in your life?” and “How does the masculine (or external) show up in your life?” Of course, I had to pull tarot for these questions and I ended up getting Ace of Cups and Ace of Swords for feminine and masculine respectively.

In tarot, the suits are divided up into four elements: water (cups), fire (wands), earth (pentacles), and air (swords), and each of these elements have a masculine (fire and air) or feminine (water and earth) energy. Of course, I’d like to believe this isn’t exact. Everything has both masculine and feminine energies, some are just more pronounced than others.

I’ll admit though, that when I pulled these, I was a bit shocked at how blatant it was lol. The Ace of Cups and the literal birth of pure feeling and emotion, and the Ace of Swords and the intense clarity of the cerebral are a bit on the nose.

Both of these are the seed, a spark, and a beginning. It is where things begin, and since this is a self care journal I’m working on, all things begin with, well, me. I can’t say with certainty which of these I need to work on, but I do know that both need balance with each other, and both, when working in tandem, can do great things.

A tarot reading for the week of 4/1/24—4/7/24:

The Three of Cups is a warm, loving, celebratory card. It's a card about spending time with your loved ones. Not family, necessarily, but with the people who get you. Who love you for you. It reminds us of the joy, the comfort, the creativity that can come from spending time with the people who inspire us, and who love all the weird, quirky, oddball parts of ourselves that we keep hidden from those we know less well.

The Nine of Swords is almost the opposite mood. It's the card of anxiety, depression, and getting caught up in our own heads. A card about fear, and the way it can isolate us and drive us deeper into mental spirals that we then have trouble pulling ourselves out of. And one thing's for sure—it's a lot easier to get stuck in that negative headspace when we pull away from the people who know and love us best.

Finally we have the Ten of Coins/Pentacles, which represents absolute fulfillment in the earthly aspects of our lives. Finances, careers, homes, bodies, gardens, and the earth around us. The Ten of Pentacles is about stability, freedom from worry, and so much abundance that it's almost too much. It certainly is if we don't share it, giving generously to our community and those who support us.

I see these three cards together as telling a cautionary tale. There is so much good in our lives—the love of close friends, the gifts of the earth, the place we have in our communities—and yet it's so easy to take that for granted. To get caught up in a cycle of thinking we never have enough and we never will, to allow a scarcity mindset to close us off from appreciating the goodness in our lives.

It may be that these cards augur financial success and joyful relationships popping up in our lives. The best way I can think of to make that come true is by spending this week lavishing love, affection, and the gifts we have on the people we care about most. It's a lot harder to stay caught up in anxiety and fear when we surround ourselves with people who make us feel our best. And it's a lot harder to believe there's not enough to go around when we purposefully give some of what we have to another.

Deck is Kawaii Tarot by Lulu Mayo, and honestly, I love this take on the Nine of Swords. A giant panda having a topsy-turvy time is so much less terrifying than a lot of Nine of Swords art!!
