...I seriously cannot stress how much I hate tags like "Give us BAMF Aziraphale" because it seems to imply that he's not badass.

He IS. Tell me how well most people could endure 6000 years of consistent, persistent demoralization, harassment and shitty treatment without snapping?

Do you know how HARD it is to be kind when you've been put through a system that actively discourages kindness and softness, a system that tries to beat it out of you - not physically, but still. The fact that Aziraphale got through all of that and is not just still kind, but still has the capacity to be kind to the very people who hurt him, is fucking remarkable.

Aziraphale is badass. Period. Full Stop.

It's well past time that we stopped equating physical and fighting prowess as a measure of badassery. Just about anyone can exercise and get strong enough to fight someone. Just about anyone could possibly get weapons training. Neither of these things is half as brave as putting yourself in front of a crowd of people and holding off 70 demons with just conviction and a candleholder because it's the RIGHT THING TO DO.

EDIT: I had to add this while I was thinking of it.

I feel like people are buying into Heaven's version of badassery. Angels were made to FIGHT. To fight the last big battle against demons and Hell.

Aziraphale is a deviation because he DOES NOT WANT THAT. He doesn't want to fight a war that will hurt billions and destroy the world. His defining moment in Season 1 is when he stands in the face of the quartermaster and refuses to fight the way they want him to. Instead of a weapon, he chooses to find another way.

If anything, I would think it's leading to the idea that Aziraphale feels he must fight, that he has no choice, and then, when it comes right down to it, finding another way. A kinder way. A BETTER way.

By the standards of Heaven, Aziraphale picking up his sword and fighting would be Normal. Him refusing and finding another way is what makes him Unique. THAT'S what makes him badass.

The way Felix "couldn't stand up to his abuser until AFTER he was already dead" Fathom is consistently victim blaming Adrien about not standing up to Gabriel.

Y'know, like a hypocrite.

To be clear this is criticism of Felix expecting something of other people that he never did. Not of Felix being incapable of doing so.

Also it's just not true? Adrien's first act in Canon is him rebelling against his father. Hell, his whole relationship with Marinette is a rebellion against his father!

Adrien is being literally mind controlled and he still finds ways to skirt around Gabriel's orders.

But none of it matters.

Because the writers threw out any semblance of moral ambiguity in favor of black and white storytelling.

That's why, after they decided to make Felix a "good guy" they desperately want to make everyone forget about the scene where he buys and sells slaves.

That's why Adrien isn't allowed to hate his cousin for impersonating him and creating Monarch and abuse enabling Gabriel.

Because the writers have decided that "Felix is right" and so by extension Adrien is "wrong". We can't have "family" cutting a toxic person out of their lives now can we?

And the fandom is only too happy to go along with this.

Because outright saying "sentimonsters are a slave race" makes them uncomfortable.

Because the fandom is all too willing to talk about how Adrien has to work at not perpetuating the cycle of abuse when he grows up. But for some reason refuses to engage with Felix's actions as doing just that.

Perpetuating the cycle of abuse. Not in the future towards some hypothetical children but right now to his own family.

Felix has already committed unforgivable acts. And that was before telling someone who isn't Adrien that you can mind control him using a piece of jewelry.

No it doesn't. Fucking. Matter. That he told Marinette/Adrien's girlfriend. That is still Not Adrien.

And to be quiet frank, is none of her fucking business.

I hate sentimonsters as allegory. I really do.

But this is like going up to someone's significant other and saying "Oh yeah he's queer."

once again my discord talked me into this

tags; a bit angsty, sweet stuff and soft launch vibes

content, you are a fashion designer and start working together with guanyu and your story develops from that.

you and guanyu start out as partners for a fashion collab

you have a LA based fashion brand 

you are an f1 fan and for more personal than professional reasons you request a collab with guanyu 

to your surprise he accepts and for the cota GP he wears your stuff and even posts about it 

the fans love it and it gains you some publicity 

you get a GQ request to feature some more of your stuff and you willingly accept 

when its time to shoot your collection you are flown to shanghai and to your surprise a familiar face is there too

GQ chose guanyu to model your stuff

you are very happy and when the feature is out to the public you start to post some behind-the-scenes stuff and the fans love it

guanyu also posts about the shoot you two start an unusual relationship over clothes

you are now more often in the paddock and guanyu wears your clothes more often than not

the fan obviously pick up on it and they love your business

you two start a friendship in the public eye and it doesn't take long for your fans to pick up on the subtle hints that you drop

at the alpha romeo car launch, you two are photographed by the press being very friendly with each other

you and guanyu trend all over Twitter the following day 

you feel very pressured by it because your business means a lot to you and bad publicity could be very bad for you 

you put more effort into making your business about your clothes not your engagement with guanyu but its difficult because there is a big launch planned soon with guanyu involved as an official ambassador of the brand

when the collection launches it's received very well but at the launch event you and guanyu are spotted again as you leave together, holding hands 

this sparks a lot of rumours and some unserious press makes bad headlines about you having unprofessional work relationships

you and guanyu try to redirect it as best as possible without being too obvious but Twitter catches you very early on

your fanbase is cut in half at this point 

some don't really care about you and the alleged thing with the driver while the rest wants a statement from both of you 

when the f1 summer break comes around it has become quiet around you and guanyu

the rumours die down as well but fans start to notice the lack of content you are posting 

it's not that you post less than usual for the brand, your media team takes care of that but your personal account which gained a lot of popularity over time has become quiet 

there are no more behind the scene of shoots or sneak peeks of your launches 

your fans are concerned about you

that's until you are back in the paddock for the first  Chinese GP in a while

you are seen with guanyu again but it's obvious that you don't want to be seen as you are wearing sunglasses and a hat deep into your face

but after the press sees you in the paddock you seem to give a fuck about being with guanyu and even post yourself about it 

after a very successful race for guanyu, you post a snapshot of the two of you in his driver's room and caption it “well done Qīn” (Chinese version of boo/bae)

Twitter is going wild again but to your surprise more positive this time

this encourages you to be more active on your personal accounts and after a while, you even post guanyus behind the scenes again

you and your brand are then invited to a promotion shoot for a collab between fashion and formula one 

the event takes place during the Monaco GP and you are again seen in the paddock with guanyu

you two seem more comfortable being seen together now 

after a successful GP and event Guanyu who posts the reveal 

the first picture is a picture of the two of you on the red carpet of the event and the second picture seems to be a lot older. it's from the alpha romeo car launch where guanyu is kissing you on the cheek with the caption “well done, I'm proud to be a part of your brand journey and your personal one. I loved seeing you grow and I'm even more excited to see what is coming in the future. you deserve the spotlight, honey”

you repost the first picture on your brand account and thank him for the support

at the same time, you repost the second picture on your personal account with the caption “thank you, Qin, love you <3”
