Support can make a huge difference when someone is hitting a rough patch. Why wait until then to let your friends know you'll be there? Take a stand for Mental Health Awareness and tag someone you care about to let them know you have their back. ‪

Moths are said to be lost souls traversing the night, and that is why they seek the light.
I have recently experienced a lot of death in my circle of people, and I feel far too young to be losing people like this.

No but I need people to understand.
The vast majority of people who get shot don’t die. Getting shot with a low-caliber handgun is not only unlikely to kill you immediately, it doesn’t even necessarily put you on the ground, unless either you’re very unlucky or the shooter has very good aim. Every day in the U.S., 327 people are shot and about 36% of them die. Note that’s ALL gunshots, including high-velocity rounds. Typically, the higher the caliber of bullet, the more likely you are to die.
I think one of the most accurate depictions of a low-caliber gunshot injury I’ve ever seen in media happened in the first episode of Leverage, where Nate and Sophie shoot one another, clutch their wounds, and glare at each other, still standing. “You wanker,” Sophie hisses.
You know what’s just about as deadly as gunshot wounds?
Traumatic brain injuries.
Every day in the U.S., approximately 586 people go to the hospital with TBIs. The fatality rate? About 32%.
This is why I laugh whenever I see a movie character or superhero choose to knock out their enemies rather than shoot them because they’re ‘moral’ or their personal code keeps them from killing. Like, bitch, you’re absolutely still killing people.

tw// angst, blood, major character death
ooooof i’m thinking poly!141 watching you die. it’s very sudden and very fast. someone hadn’t spot the last sniper, high above into the trees, leaves aiding the enemy’s hiding spot.
so when a bullet gets lodged in your throat, it takes everyone by surprise. kyle is the one standing right next to you when it happens. you feel a heavy punch in your throat, then see kyle’s face get splattered with your blood.
and now you’re on your back, gurgling and choking on your own blood, clawing at your boyfriend’s wrists as he presses down on the giant hole in your neck. but its futile.
you can't talk, can't breathe and you can feel your limbs getting heavy.
you can see as the rest of your lovers come running to your side. kneeling over you. desperation so obvious in their eyes.
it’s too bad you can’t comfort them, can’t tell them you love them one last time. it’s too bad you can’t hear them either, the ringing in your ears getting louder and louder, until you let your arms drop and close your eyes one last time.
now it’s just dark and quiet.
