The greatest expression of love is joining someone else's fandom.

Just think about it for a while. First you have to consume the media the fandom is based off of, and while it's possible for it to just be one book or one movie, it's almost always a series. A lot of times there a book AND movie series.

But that isn't nearly enough. Having read or watched the Maze Runner doesn't mean you get the page 250 jokes. Reading Percy Jackson doesn't mean understanding "you drool in your sleep" and "you're not my type" (this one especially now with the casting for the series).

Also. We notice a ridiculous amount of breadcrumbs to defend any point possible (I've seen a PowerPoint presentation on Tumblr as to why the Gladers should say fuck).

And the amount of weird ship names is just ridiculous (there may be a reasonable justification, but wolfstar and rosekiller are just not intuitive), as well as random fixations on completely unimportant characters.

Here's a list of ones I can think of off the top of my head:

Evan Rosier, Barty Crouch Jr., Regulus Black, Pandora [last name unknown], Blaise (I forget the spelling) Zabini, Crabbe, Goyle, and Pansy Parkinson for Harry Potter. Ben, Nick, George, Stephen, Sonya, Harriet, and Rachel for the Maze Runner. Ethan Nakamura (I think he's more important but I can't remember), Kayla Knowles, Austin Lake, and Lee Fletcher for Percy Jackson.

If you just read the books once, you probably don't notice most of these characters.

Just in general there's so many inside jokes and references and quotes and concepts and fanon and headcanons, and all of it is would be so exhausting to keep up with if you weren't completely invested in this made up world some random person came up with.

hi girl! yes ok i have such strong feelings about this and i think i've talked about this lightly before! the poet's allergies!!!!!

cameron is 100% without a doubt deathly allergic to strawberries and he's really mad about it bc he absolutely loves the smell of them.

he'd probably be the slightest bit allergic to some specific type of nut, like cashews but he pretends he doesn't bc he thinks its embarrassing to have a nut allergy LOL

i've actually made a kinda comic panel over the cameron being allergic to strawberries hc bc i love it sm!!!

honestly, i think todd wouldn't be allergic to anything and he'd secretly consider himself superior. but then he'd find out later in life that oh that's why i always got a rash when i ate that.

maybe allergic to bananas and he's actually happy bc he fucking hates them.

neil is allergic to penicillin, i can feel it in my bones. his parents found out when he was a baby and he always gets anxious in hospitals and has to tell them like a million times in case they suddenly forget.

he's also allergic to horses which makes him really sad.

meeks is allergic to bees, nuts and eggs. he was really upset as a kid when he couldn't eat eggs amd always drooled over cartoon eggs, he was so jealous.

charlie is allergic to seafood and it infuriates him so much bc he really wants sushi. he's so bad that he'll try to steal other people's food even though he know he can't eat it.

cameron has to constantly smack him away from fish and shit.

knox has an intense peanut allergy, like deadly allergy. he has to carry an epi-pen but he constantly forgets it and bro is literally gambling with his life on the daily.

meeks, todd and cameron all have seasonal allergies and their hay-fever is so bad.

if anyone is lactose intolerant, it is pitts, that man has it. that being said, he sometimes likes to just eat dairy in the moment and always says "that's a problem for later me"

The Maze Runner Mini Theory

So I have this rlly random Mini theory..

So In the first TMR book when Thomas goes to the graveyard, the oldest grave he sees is one for a person called Stephen. There’s an entire paragraph dedicated to this grave and it never comes up again.

Now obviously it’s just assumed that there was a Glader named Stephen who died long before Thomas got there, in fact I think it says the graves the oldest one, so therefore he would have been the first death.

But no, the first death was George- we find this out in TFC. We also find out in TFC that Thomas’s real name was Stephen.

So my theory is that this gravestone is a variable, it shows the old name of whoever’s looking at it- using their brainchip thingys (the same thing that makes the maze walls look taller than irl) signifying the death of their old life for good with their memories gone the life’s dead.

Thomas, sees Stephen. Signifying the death of his life as Stephen.

Frypan/Siggy would see the name Toby. Signifying the death of his life as Toby.

Idk if this is even a theory or a headcanon at this point tbh

TL;DR:

The spooky gravestone in the first maze runner book shows each Glader their old name to signify their old lives

Teresa was willingly giving up her old name, Deedee. Because she didn't want to have to think about her past. She wanted to try to start fresh.

She sits on his lap during meals and he fights everyone who says anything

Fights anyone who even looks at her wrong

Tells her he loves her at least three times before he leaves on missions without her

When she goes with him he’s literally next to her the entire time

Does not let her go for hours when they finally get back to base

So fucking soft for her and only her

Good guy who feels like he has to be bad in order to stay alive but falls a little bit in love with it for a little too long

Begged her to move in with him after his games

Let her decorate the entire house however she wanted

Writes her love notes before every time he goes to the capital

Cries to her when he comes home every single time

When she has to go into the games he volunteers immediately even though he technically isn’t allowed and pulls strings with President Snow to be able to fight

So he literally kills for her

And makes sure she never has to fight

Marries her and tells Coin he won’t fight, stays alive for his baby

10/10 soft as fuck

Narcissistic doctor Avenger who uses the phone while driving

This is the one I have the least proof for but I’m 110% sure when he isn’t wearing the cape he has his baby wrapped around him like a backpack

Crumbles for his baby, I’m talking to his knees, overwhelmed by how pretty and beautiful and wonderful she is, hugging her around the waist

Loves the feeling of her fingers through his hair

Brings her to every Avengers Gala and practically begs her to leave early so they can go cuddle and eat pizza

Gets so scared whenever he has to do something dangerous

Drops what he’s doing when she calls him, has told off Steve and Tony (don’t start with me) and everyone else

Peter called him a simp once and after he googled it he looked him dead in the eyes and agreed and then packaged one of the donuts Bucky brought in for his baby and then took it and left

Man is SOFT

Reformed witch who frequently gets addicted to dark sacrificial magic and makes choices that are just this side of morally corrupt

Has skipped so many meetings as regent that he probably shouldn’t even be regent anymore

The king of date night, dancing, fine dining, jazz music, picnics, midnight rituals

Plans every little detail and gets Josh and Davina to help him

Uses magic to close down entire restaurants for the perfect night

Always holds her hand and sits her in the front row of his coven meetings and pauses the meetings accidentally when he glances over to her and she gives him a thumbs up and he has to literally stop and smile

Holds her purse without her having to ask, will go to seven different restaurants when she changes her mind on where to eat, hexes people who harm her

Big softie

Literally a womanizing grave robber with very few morals

Has filled museums with all the things he has STOLEN

Would still protect his baby from booby traps though

Dresses her up and takes her out everywhere

Cancels class whenever she asks and more often than not when she doesn’t

Would be closer to the snakes so that she won’t have to be

Wouldn’t even think about yelling even when in mortal danger, even when it’s her fault for putting them in that situation

Answers every question even though she’s asked the same question a thousand times

Can’t sleep without her at all

I’m not sorry, he’s soft

Most feared and ruthless pirate on the sea

Torched a town once because his baby was treated a little too cold by a few too many people

Literally would and has fought a life altering curse for her and won

Kills so many people and still goes to bed early to cuddle in the captain’s quarters

Lets her walk all over the ship in his shirt and watches from behind the wheel, has thrown a man or two overboard when they stare too long

She didn’t even notice

Plays with her on the beach whenever she wants even if it hinders the plans of the crew

Softie alert

A one thousand year old+ elitist vampire with slight anger issues who has zero reason to fall in love with a plain mortal woman

But there is no way that is going to stop me

Would rip literal hearts out for his baby until he is soaked with blood

The bar is now torched to the ground along with everyone inside

It’s for his baby

Rebuilds the bar for her, puts it in her name, now it’s her bar and she’s making a shit ton of money

Buys her so many things, even when she says no, especially when she says no

All she has to do is pout and it’s game over

Has left so many business meetings for her that it is insane

Once bought her a chair seat at Disney because she said she liked Tangled one time and now she makes important decisions she is not qualified to make

A leader of a terrorist radical government who has outright anger issues and hates people who are different from him

BUUUUUT wouldn’t yell at his baby who is probably from Amity and probably got tricked into being in Dauntless

Lets her sleep in his room because fuck the training quarters that’s sus as hell (even though he’s the one who arranged the training quarters)

Lets her skip all the fighting and does not give a fuck when he gets called out for it, will literally abuse all special privileges

Would probably do the training simulation for her and tell her how to beat it

Trails behind her wherever she goes, holds her hand in the cafeteria, has her on his lap when he gets tattoos

Lets her visit home whenever she wants and threatens anyone who says other wise

HE’S SOFT I JUST KNOW IT OKAY

Kinda evil Supreme leader of the galaxy who has killed many people, including his dad, some who deserved it and some who did not

But wouldn’t even yell at his baby-- would cry if she cried

She sleeps in his bed and when Hux calls him out on it he breaks a desk and then almost kills him

She walks around the ship and he follows her like a puppy and chokes people out when he hears them call him a puppy in their heads

Gives her everything she wants and more, surprises her all the time

Surprise trips to beach planets and fancy events

Once he gave her a whole ass planet

Always hugging her no matter who is around and what is going on,

The softest supreme leader in the galaxy

My own little vent regarding recent events (05/01/2020)

There’s a lot of things for me to say here that I guess has been said enough, but this is just things I’d rather have off my chest.

For clarity, this is about stuff happening in Danplan, or rather Stephen leaving Danplan. If you haven't known yet, link to the video where Stephen explains his side of the situation is here

Anyways prepare for a long post. Feel free to scroll past if needed.

I wasn’t a part of the fandom for a long time, only last year did I join. My first video from Danplan that I watched was “Can You Survive Birdbox”. Back then, I was attracted to the format of the video already, a casual playful discussion/quiz between three guys presented in an animated format. But that was not the only thing that brought me into liking the channel.

It was Stephen himself.

He was an instant favourite of mine once I watched that video. Chaotic, boisterous and entertaining. Whenever he talked, he was funny and always made the video a joy to watch. Don’t get me wrong, Hosuh and Dan were also contributing to my attraction to Danplan. But it was because I was interested in seeing more of Stephen’s personality in more videos, that I continued to watch the videos. Once I was a fan of the channel, Stephen became my favourite. Of course, Jay3 replaced him as my all-time favourite as time went on but he was still my 2nd favourite.

Even more so, once I started to see his streams on Actually Stephen, he became even more of my 2nd favourite. That was because of his real personality. He was mature, for the most part, sensible and knowledgable. It was nice to see that he was just a normal and sensible guy behind the mask of his “Stephen” character

And this was refreshing because, around that time, I was at a very low point in my life. It’s something I’d rather not talk about but to put it simply, Danplan was my therapy. My escape. The one thing I could depend on to make my days much better. And through Danplan, I found solace in friends that also enjoyed the channel, its members and its content.

Now, as you know, the fight between Daniel and Stephen was around March of 2019.

I discovered Danplan around the same time. March 2019.

So you can imagine the huge swing to my heart when I realised the whole time, the whole time I enjoyed Danplan’s content, the whole time while watching Stephen in those videos, he was trying to prove to Daniel he wasn't just an employee. He was pushing so hard to prove his point that he was an integral part of Danplan. As I laughed at his jokes and humour, enjoying what he brought to the videos, Stephen was trying to prove to Daniel of his place in Danplan as a founding member. And when I heard him say his efforts were in vain, my heart shattered. It hurt to know that Dan never acknowledged it yet I did. We all did. But Dan didn’t, as far as I know.

It hurt even more when I heard his tone throughout the whole video explaining the situation. It hurt so much the person I adored, the person I had to thank for bringing me here, sound so saddened, at the verge of crying. I will admit, I wanted to cry too. I only held back because my sister was around

Before, I looked up to Daniel, seeing as how he managed to create such a community with his friends. But now, I am holding back so much anger and frustration once I learned that he dared to tell his own childhood friend, that he was only an “employee”. I’m holding back for only two reasons. One, because I am respecting Stephen’s wishes and waiting for Dan’s side of the story. Two, because I really want to give him a chance to redeem himself. To see the errors of his ways and actually try to make it better. Because I don’t want the thing that made me happy, That found me friends, that helped bring worth to my life to fall apart.

Stephen is such an amazing person, through and through. It hurts to see him leave but it’s for the best he does. It wouldn’t be healthy for him to stay, to be subjected to being only a product to his friend. He was the main reason I wanted to see more Danplan content. so I wish him well after his departure from the channel. At least now, Dan might see how much he was important to Danplan, seeing the kickback of Stephen’s leave has created so far. Maybe now, he’ll learn

I don’t want Danplan to end in ruins because of this discourse. I’m holding onto that tiny bit of hope that it ends well and that Daniel learns from his mistakes. That hope that this will have a happy conclusion. Not just for the sake of Stephen but for Hosuh, Ann, Jay, the animators and everyone else involved.

I will continue to support the channel for their sakes and wait patiently for Daniel to bring his own statement to the table. I won’t give up on this channel, on this team. But for now, I will refrain from drawing Daniel and Stephen for the time being.

I stand with Stephen, he deserved better than this

Stephen, goodbye. Fanplan wishes you well in your future ventures. Thank you, for everything

this was hardly her area of expertise. but how could she resist? what young girl hadn’t daydreamed about ghouls and vampires at some point in their fevered, youthful imaginings? she could hardly claim to be different. so, how was she meant to refuse the prospect of an adventure deep in the history-soaked hills of eastern europe? everyone needed a holiday now and again! at least, that was how she had sold the notion to her husband...

now, happily ensconced amongst the ruins of an ancient -- creepy! rick had interjected -- castle, evy felt in her element. or, perhaps more accurately, she felt as much until an unfamiliar footfall sounded in the crumbling passageway beyond.

her senses jolted from the thoughts of long-dead lords and ladies she’d been entertaining, into the very tangible present. evy swung her torch in the direction of the sound.
