Potato's Surgery Fund! 💙🐾

So true!!! Link is so much more than just a vessel for the player to express themselves through. He has his own character as well, and it's well worth recognizing!! Thanks for putting this together!! I think "serious and awkward teen" is an excellent way to describe his character in BotW especially, although it does seem to like he's gotten a lot more confidence when it comes to TotK.

You are Link yes, but Link is NOT you. He is his own character, as much as some of you want to pretend he isn't at all:

He is sweet, honest, has insecurities. Has worries. Cares

As fun as "manwhore tarzan gremlin" Link can be in fan content, far too many people treat that as canon just because of popular memes or fanart. When in reality, he's more like. a serious and awkward teen who makes an occasional joke every now and then.

It sometimes feels like people forget he's meant to be a loyal knight and a hero

Just because YOU don't care about anything or Princess Zelda, etc, doesn't mean that Link also doesn't care.

Okay, so I did this months ago, because I really, really love the Depths armor set. And I figured, why not give Link the Demon King's sword in it because that's Gloomy and Depths related, too! ...Well, now with @bahbahhh coming out with @the-depths-au and the cover artwork coming out and the last bit of the Linktober challenge where Link was actually wearing the Depths set, I remembered that I'd done this art piece! Even though I did it a while ago, is it too late to decide that it's a gift piece for @bahbahhh? :D I am so, SO hyped to see where @the-depths-au goes!!

Tribute to my favorite armor set! I LOVE the way the Set of the Depths looks, except for the hood.

I decided to sketch a scene from my story, Requiem of Light, for Inktober Day 21: Frost! Link's horse in this story, Ember, is based on the Icelandic Horse breed, a very tough, hardy breed that can deal with cold temperatures very well. Here it is!!! I’m so excited to share this with you all!! I can honestly say that this is my own favorite piece of writing that I’ve ever done; I’m so happy with how it turned out! I hope you all enjoy!! ( :

Summary:

An expedition deep beneath the ruins of Hyrule Castle goes catastrophically wrong. Link finds himself alone and grievously injured, with only a handful of clues about what happened to the kingdom - and what happened to his beloved Zelda. As he sets out to find her, clinging desperately to the hope that they will be reunited, he begins to discover the mantle that was always meant for him to take up. T for violence. Doesn't strictly follow canon; I make my own tweaks here and there. Could be seen as a sequel to Rifts Between Us, but it doesn't have to be.

Well... it's been quite the week, wow! A coupe updates from me; here are my two Totk/BotW related entries for Inktober so far - one of Link dodging a lynel, and the other of a very hungry frox demanding to be fed. ( : This hasn't been a great week. I was kind of coerced into quitting my job after a bunch of mounting pressure from higher-ups, awful treatment from people around me, things like that. Basically, because I'm very introverted and pretty dang socially awkward, they decided that I'm not a great fit for the job and that I'd better see myself out. I'm glad to be done with it all, and I'd been thinking about quitting for a while, but things really just came to a head this week. I don't know what the future will hold for me. However, I do know that I will always find solace in writing and drawing (hence the Inktober post today). Tomorrow, I will finally share the first two chapters of the TotK fanfic I've been putting a lot of energy into, "Requiem of Light." It's finished; it ended up being 43 chapters all told. I'll post the first two chapters tomorrow morning on Ao3 and FF.net, and afterwards I'll post a new chapter on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I hope you all enjoy this story as much as I enjoyed writing it!!

Mostly historically-accurate Link as a 13th century knight. This one's a gift for my husband, who is very interested in medieval history, armor, and weapons, and who helps me out with realism in all of my writing. I also figured out how to create brushes in my digital art app, and tested out a chain brush to do the mail! ( :
