Ok this is probably easily debunked but a little theory that’s sitting in my head is maybe Lilith and Eve have switched places. I’m new to the show so I’m not sure on Eve’s character design but I think I’ve seen stuff where her and Lilith are very similar. Maybe part of that deal with Adam was for Lilith to take Eve’s place in heaven and Eve is down in hell or locked away somewhere else? No idea as to why but either way Lilith being in heaven does not sit right with me at all.

(This is kind of ignoring that Eve is probably already in hell because she represents sin since she took the apple 🥲 but maybe I’m on the right path somewhat)

Just a tiny moment where Astarion realizes that he's no longer using you and has fallen for you.

Astarion watches you from across the fire. You have a splash of mud still on your cheek even though you were just at the river using the last of the good soap he’d bartered from that halfling fellow. As if sensing his gaze, you briefly glance up at him and your eyes meet, red and brown, vampire and human. Your face doesn’t hide any secrets, it’s open and tender and the firelight reflects and gives the impression your eyes are twinkling. You look away and return to the conversation you’re having with Shadowheart. Astarion can hear the dips in your tone as you ask Shadowheart questions about herbs and potions. You want to do your part and help heal the rest of your camp members. It hits him then, not the feeling - the feeling has been there for a while - but the dawning realization of it. Fuck. He is well and officially, fucked.

As someone who watched the Netflix show first before diving into the books, I was quite surprised by the slightly different portrayal of their friendship on the two platforms. Though if I were to be completely honest, I may have been slightly influenced by the many fanfics I’ve read in my attempt to sooth my broken heart after watching the sixth episode of the Netflix show “Rare Species”. Barring the fan-based depiction on the many fanworks scattered throughout the internet, I’ve found that while both renditions (Netflix and Book) differ, there are certain elements to their characters and by extension their relationship, that stay true on either platform. Choosing not to include the Witcher Game due to various reasons—one of them being that I haven’t played the game myself to draw a fair conclusion, I’ll only be comparing and analysing their friendship development from the original Novels and later, Netfllix adaptation.

Before I dive into the more analytical portion of my discussion, I want to lay a disclaimer that I do not intend to fully treat this as a proper thesis, so do excuse the rather unorthodox exclamations and grammatical errors that will undoubtedly appear in this essay.

Buckle up, because this is going to be a long ride.
