Hey! I saw your post and I've been trying to learn german and french lately (for fun, I like to learn new languages (I'm brazilian, english is my second language (sorry for the broken english))) but I learnt english by playing games! and now that I've grown up I don't have the time to play like I did, and Duolingo isn't the best there is... So, got any tips? (that was a very sweet post, you're a very nice person :D I'm a young adult and reading these sweet words really helped, thank you :)
I'm sorry it's taken so long to respond!! And thank you you're such a sweet person 😋
For tips for German and French would be to take some paper and label different things in your house! I did this growing up while in school (my grandma wasn't happy lol).
Personally I think German is easier in the sense that they always follow the grammar rules, no silent letters or sounds. French is the complete opposite! A lot of words are pronounced differently.
If you can download something like italki or HelloTalk! You can talk to native speakers all across the world and share tips in your native language and any other language you know! You can also pay teachers on there! One lesson or two, or how ever many you'd like! It's all virtual and they show what their skills are 😊
Or if you would like I can help teach you little bits of German, and very basic French 😋😊
You're English is great, all good things come with some mistakes 💕

All jokes about being an introvert aside, humans are naturally social creatures and we need stimulation. Whether you're self isolating or your city/town/country is on lockdown, this will affect your mental health if you don't take care of yourself. I know we all joke that we never go outside anyway, but the fact we can't go out, even if we want to, is going to affect us. So I've compiled a list of things to do!
Clean. Cleaaaaaaan. Being in a clean house will make this so much nicer. If you're stuck in your house all day, being in a clean home will help. Plus, it's good exercise.
If you have a garden and can go in it, do! Plant some stuff for spring, tidy it up, feed the birds, whatever.
If you have a Netflix watch list, go through it. Watch stuff in the background while cleaning or something.
If you're sick, change your bed. I've been in bed a lot and I just changed it and it's nice to have fresh sheets instead of my sweaty ones.
Take up a craft. Go on pinterest and diy some shit.
Watch documentaries
Change out of your pyjamas, even if it's just into a hoodie and some sweats. You'll feel better.
If you have schoolwork to do, do it. I know, it's boring, but itll kill some time.
Paint, collage, sketch. Try and improve your skills. Get creative!
Call your family and friends! Facetime or phone. Call your mum, your auntie, your best friend, whoever. We're human and we need contact.
Rearrange your furniture, create a new environment.
Have a clear out of clothes you don't wear anymore
Read!! Read books you haven't read yet or reread your favourite books. Get lost in a different world.
If you're not in school, perhaps teach yourself something. I like to study stuff in my own time. Botany, human evolution, space, anything. Learning stuff is fun when you're not getting graded on it.
Fuck it, learn a new language. Go on omegle or something and talk to people from different countries and test your skills.
Bake, cook, make something. I recommend bread. I have a recipe under my #angie talks tag.
Support small businesses. I'm on a group chat with fellow shop owners and they're all worried about the sales going down. I know, right now you're worried about needing necessities, but shop around on etsy and buy birthday presents, diy kits, jewellery etc. You'll make their week.
If you're sick, open the windows. Its recommended for coronavirus anyway but its nicer to be in bed with the window open.
Watch nature outside your house. For like half an hour today I watched birds. I counted 56 this morning.
Make your own natural remedies for your symptoms. If you're on any medication, as always, check for interactions.
Nap
Put on loud music and dance. Get your blood flowing
Check out home workouts on YouTube. Keeping active boosts your immune system and itll pass the time
Make stuff out of trash. Pinterest is full of diy crafts, my favourites are bird feeders out of bottles and planters out of bottles.
Get into your sewing pile and mend clothes
Embroider funky patches
If you're quarantined with family, chat to them. Suggest a family movie night or break out some board games. My husband refuses to play chess with me because I'm too good at it, I've never lost a chess game in my life
Chat to people on tumblr
Journal how you feel or vent to someone. Its frustrating being stuck inside
World build! Make maps of imagined places
Upcycle your clothes and make them look cooler
Make a bucket list
That's all the suggestions I have for now. If anyone is interested in more recommendations for books/movies/shows/stuff to learn, let me know!
Please, look after your mental as well as your physical health. Stay in touch with people, we need togetherness in these times, not isolation. Stay safe, stay healthy♥️

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but don’t be racist during the COVID-19 scare.
My mom’s friend was out shopping when a (very not asian) woman came up and started berating her for not wearing a mask. Asian businesses in my area are suffering. Some people are refusing to interact with anyone who looks Asian.
Asian-Americans have been through racism already. We’re fucking sick of it. We’re not flea-infested rats; we are actual people who most likely have never been to China.
And if you’re not Asian and see someone being racist and giving a poor schmuck a hard time for having squinty eyes and dark hair, tell them to knock it off and they’re being a butt.
NON ASIANS PLEASE REBLOG

Cooking With No Money and No Food:
I’m sure we’ve all had times where we literally had no food and/or money to spare or spend on food. I decided to list and explain every single step because I know when I started cooking I didn’t even know when eggs were done. And if you don’t that’s alright! Everyone starts somewhere! :) Here’s some ideas and tips that might help y’all out.
Tumblr media
Now I cannot explain how important milk, eggs, and bread are to have in your kitchen. That along with butter, flour, baking powder, and oil.
Here’s some ideas for breakfast foods that you can have any time of the day, or for all meals if need be. A favorite of mine is making egg sandwiches. All you need are:
Eggs
Bread
Milk (optional)
Two simple ingredients, or three if you have milk. (Putting some pepper on the eggs while they’re cooking helps give a little extra falavor too). You can have either fried eggs or scrambled. But I’ve found scrambled will give you ‘more’ to have. What you do is simple!
For the fried eggs:
Grab a pan (or even a pot if you don’t have a pan)
Put your butter in the pan (don’t worry about adding too much). Or for oil, put enough in to cover a thin layer the bottom of the pan.
Place it on medium, or a little bit above medium. Nothing should go wrong either way.
Crack and put the egg (s) in the pan after it gets hot.
Let the egg fry
Add a lid if handy, it’s something I do to keep the oil or butter from spitting everywhere.
Let the egg(s) fry until all the way white, or
Let the eggs cook until a little bit of clear egg is left around the yolk, flip said egg(s) and let it cook for a few seconds
Tip: If you don’t know if the oil is hot place your hand over, NOT IN the oil. If you feel heat and the oil is quicker when you move the pan around then it means it’s hot. Butter will melt and be easier to tell.
For scrambled eggs:
Follow 1-3 from above
Crack eggs into a clean bowl
Whisk the eggs
Once pan with butter or oil is hot add mix
Wait a few seconds, and use spatula or spoon (whatever you have safe to use and handy) to move the whisked eggs around until completely cooked.
Tip: Adding milk helps make the eggs a bit fluffier, and make ‘more’ eggs.
For the toast:
Put bread in toaster
Don’t make it too crusty, it sucks that way
Or if you don’t have a toaster
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Place bread on a cookie sheet, or even in a pot or pan that can go in the oven
Place in the oven for 10 minutes
Flip the bread after 5 minutes on each side
Give extra time for bread that was frozen
Now place said eggs on the toast and you’ve got filling sandwiches for your belly! Adding ketchup is also delicious! And this all cost less than $10 most of the time. (:

NEVER PUT SOMEONE ELSES NAME DOWN ON PAPERS.
What I mean by that is say you make a deal for a phone plan with a family member, a friend, or so on.
{Your husband or wife is a different story, so is fiancé or someone you’re in a long term relationship with. Because you’re supposed to share responsibility with your bills, since you’re going to be taking care of each other and living with each other (typically in pretty much all cases).}
If you forgot a piece of paper or something like your money or credit/debit card, don’t put that other persons name down because “oh, they’re family” or “they’re like family”. Sometimes it’s the worst thing to do.
Reason being is they can use the fact that they’re name is the primary of whatever it might be you’re sharing and cut you off/out, not pay their portion, and fudge you over.
It’s sad, yes. But as someone dealing with this tight now I can only tell you that sometimes the people you thought you were closest to don’t care about you. Especially if it means they can get away with it or think they can get away with it.
But don’t feel bad like it was your fault!!! It’s their choices that reflect their poor character, don’t try to get even with them. Instead just limit them, or even have to cut them out of your life if need be. It can be painful, but we all grow stronger with pain. Even if we’re alone or only have one person by our side.
