Okay, can we talk about Dionysus and BTS for a sec?
BTW this may not be 100% accurate so please look into this yourself. this is based on what I know about Dionysus through internet searches and whatnot.
We generally know Dionysus as the Greek god of wine but there’s more to him than meets the eye and ultimately more to BTS’s song than meets the eye.
Yeah, he’s the god of wine and drunkenness so it makes sense that BTS sings about how they are getting turnt up on their music. Dionysus’ origin story varies but stick to the same theme of rebirth, whether he was “reborn” via Zeus or reincarnated after being torn apart, his ability to create wine connects him to ingenuity and he is associated with the arts in terms of theatre. But there’s one detail that I found that really shows how BTS and Dionysus are more connected than you might think.
The people who initially worshipped Dionysus were known to be outcasts or generally looked down upon by society: women, slaves, anyone who could not follow the hypocritic societal norms. The rest of society looked down on those worshipers and the elite would often do what they can to shut down whatever is associated with the god. Dionysus’ image was one that resembled an older man who has a deep association to death and being drunk was not for partying sake but as a means to let loose of social expectations and become closer to “truth” through the effects that alcohol gives. As a means to gain more followers later on, the idea of theatre and finance was added to his character so that he would be more palatable towards more Greeks. It wasn’t until the time of Alexander the Great and afterwards that the wealthy and the rest of mainstream society began to adopt Dionysus and rebrand him as the drunken god of partying we know of today. Dionysus is now this younger looking man who now becomes a symbol of the elite and his past as a god for the outcasts is forgotten.
And now we look at BTS, the boyband that started out as a musical group for the youth that felt hopeless about the world around them, who faced criticism from not sticking to the status quo, who as time passed put more emphasis on the arts in their music and performances, who continue to reinvent themselves musically, and who now become worldwide superstars that even those who initially didn’t identify as BTS’s early fans are starting to take notice or starting to enjoy their work.
The question is this: will BTS fall in the same path of Dionysus and have history end up forgetting who they started as? Will BTS be only remembered as good looking guys who made fun-sounding music and makes all the girls scream? Or will we remember and praise them for their past instead?

idk why but I have this story in my head that I've always wanted to put down on paper, and even when I try to shrug it off it still persists. I’m not a good writer nor am I a good artist so I can’t completely put down what I want to put down... maybe if I can work on it like how Death Note was done where there’s a writer and someone else as an artist draws it out each chapter.
basically I have this story that constant changes, but the details that remain the same is that a girl finds a bunch of letters that seemed to be addressed to no one and she, for some reason, writes back to each one and continues to write to them as new ones keep on appearing in the location she found the first letters. She responds to each letter, sending them back, and still does it even when some of the letters accidentally end up getting destroyed from the rain or lost because of the wind. She kept all those letters and kept on writing despite her friends telling her it was a weird obsession; and yet she yearns to know who these people are and really wants to respond back to these mysterious people who seem to resonate with her emotions. And then she realizes that the events that are unfolding start to relate to her own life: the accident that left a friend of hers on life support was witnessed by one of the letter writers, the letter writer who abandoned her friend was simply on a run for his life and misses her every day, one of her friends turned out to be a long-lost relative to one of the writers and hopes to see him again. Suddenly these writers are more involved in her life more than she ever expected, and the messages they reveal in their letters start helping her overcome problems in her life. She becomes a new person in a sense that she finally stepped back and confronted the fact that she wasn't as happy as she told herself she was, and decides to do something about it. As she comes to that conclusion, she wants to know who these writers are, and want to tell them how much they mean so much to her. And at the end of the story she ends up meeting one of the writers and finally gets to tell him all that.
I’m thinking about calling it Love, ARMY.
