Anyway if you’re from the US and you ever wanted to know what tumblr feels like from a non-USAmerican perspective (please note that the rest of the world is not a monolith either and none of these apply without exception):

Everybody’s talking about brands and stores you’ve never seen in real life. You generally assume they exist, but they might as well be one giant prank the rest of the internet is in on.

You find a post that just sounds wrong. It makes no sense. It’s like OP lives in a weird alternate reality. 9/10 times, it’s just some USAmerican Thing.

You’re still not entirely sure how much an inch is. Or a foot. Or even how many of the former there are in the latter. You maybe know your height in feet and inches.

You have no idea how much a pound is. You’d also like to know how the fuck pound shortens to lbs.

What the fuck is “military time”

Somebody talks about some legal process or something similar. They don’t mention which country’s legal system this pertains to. You know anyway.

People talk about politics. None of it pertains to you. Many posts contain guilt tripping. “How can you not care about this?? Why won’t you reblog this?? People need to know this about x candidate for y position!” You’re busy trying to stay on top of the political landscape in your own country.

You pick up some random slang from the internet. Monkey see monkey do. You’re called racist. You didn’t know it was AAVE. You learnt it from black letters on white background, not from the mouths of people whose faces you could see. How would you have known? You try to unlearn it.

People tell you that you must publicly denounce Chick-fil-A or you’re homophobic. You don’t even know what a Chick-fil-A is.

People say you don’t know LGBTQ+ history. What they mean is you don’t know USAmerican LGBTQ+ history. Nobody cares about your country’s history.

You’re “called out” on using an “offensive” term. It’s (a direct translation of) a completely harmless word where you live.

People expect you to have an idea of how far apart 2 USAmerican states are. You barely know geography past your country’s immediate neighbors.

You randomly switch between British and American spellings. Nothing’s real and there are no rules.

People talk about multiple hour car rides and you get twitchy just thinking about it. You suddenly understand why USAmerican cars are so big.

Somebody talks about school shooting drills. You only ever had fire alarm drills.

You see a cool statistic. The study’s only about the US. It’s unfortunately of no use to you.

People misuse/misspell words and names from your native language. It’s tiring.

(You feel sorry for the French. Nobody should be allowed to mangle the word déjà vu like that.)

You’re still not over the fact that USAmerican school children are supposed to say that pledge thing every morning. You’re never getting over that.

You still don’t know why the men are fresh or what the fuck a sophomore is.

Who the fuck pays up first and then fills up gas??? That’s made up, right??

Everybody has a weird obsession with some comfort food you’d never even heard of before you signed up here.

I really enjoyed this! It's such a breath of fresh air! Seing some objectif (mostly) opinion on jjba 5 ships! (Shipping became such a big deal lately) I'm looking forward for the rest!

Rating every ship in the Bucci gang (+Trish). Every. Single. One. (part 1)

Hi! So… Yeah. That’s 21 ships in total. This post is gonna be very long so I will make several parts.

❥ First of all I won’t take their age into account, and shipping doesn’t necessarily mean that I want both of the characters to have sex. I’m only having fun here so please don’t send hate.

❥ Before we begin I also wanted to say that english is not my first language, I’m french, so I may write things the wrong way sometimes. I’m sorry about that.

❥ I will rate them on ten points. The rating criteria are :

☆ Dynamic (5 pts)

☆ Aesthetic (3 pts)

☆ My own feelings about the ship (2 pts)

❥ Spoiler warning for the entire part!!

❥ I will also give you fanfiction recomendations If I know a good one about the pairing I talk about.

❥ The order in which I will present the ships is absolutly random (I used a specific website and everything for this reason).

1 - AbbaMis (Abbacchio x Mista)

(Apparently their seiyuus made a BL CD recording together ??)

☆ Dynamic : They would make a chill couple. Mista can see the good side of Abbacchio and I’m sure he would do his best to take care of him when he’s feeling down. I can also see them do adult stuff together such as drinking alcohol. Yeah they would be the chilliest dudes. Manly men being manly together. With other people, Abbacchio’s coldness and Mista’s chill attitude would make an interesting contrast. Maybe they have met before? Imagine a young officer Abbacchio arresting a young Mista because he beat someone up, that would be funny if they recognise each other when they meet again in the restaurant 3/5

☆ Aesthetic : Funky hats. That’s nice. Their color palettes don’t really match. I noticed that Abbacchio’s face is more feminine while his body is the most muscular of the team, whereas Mista’s has more of a masculin face and a feminine body, which, again, makes an interesting contrast. 1,5/3

☆ My own feelings about them : Not my favorite pairing. I don’t think I would ever draw or write about them. I don’t mind them at all but I’m just not interested. 0,5/2

2 - AbbaGio (Abbacchio x Giorno)

☆ Dynamic : @abbagiodaily on instagram made a post about them that I think everyone should read. It’s called “How Abbacchio is a Tsundere”. Of course it’s not forcing anyone to ship them, but it made me understand their dynamic better. Abbacchio adopts a mean attitude towards Giorno because he reminds him of his younger self, but he has never used violence with him. Their relationship is way less abusive than most people may think. However, I don’t see them as the type to really know how to give affection, this could lead to awkward situations. 3/5

☆ Aesthetic : They kinda remind me of My Melody and Kuromi haha. They look both a bit androgynous, which is definitely a pro. When you don’t know them and you look at a fanart, you may think “are they lesbians? are they gay? are they straight?” you can never know. Their color palettes goes well together (black/white/violet/pink/gold). They are like the moon and the sun, which is really cool. The contrast between Giorno’s thin body and Abbachio’s height and muscles is also really cool. 3/3

☆ My own feelings about them : I think their relationship is really interesting. I would definitly make content about them both. 1,5/2

3 - BruGio (Bucciarati x Giorno)

☆ Dynamic : They would treat each other so well !! Even only in canon, they treat each other with a lot of respect. They are partners in crime, forming a team to defeat evil drug dealers to save their people ! How cool is that ? Bucciarati’s death scene (”which one?” you might ask) in which he comforts him gots me everytime. He says that he was dying inside before Giorno came into his life and bringed him hope I-… 5/5

☆ Aesthetic : This pairing is so elegent. I mean look at them, they are so graceful and pretty ! aaaaah ! Same this as AbbaGio about the androgynous thing. Their color palettes goes well together, but maybe not as well as AbbaGio (black/white/blue/pink/gold). 2,5/3

☆ My own feelings about them : This pairing is immaculate. 2/2

✿ Fanfiction recomendations : I know I’ve read some but I can’t remember the titles ;-; . Anyway, feel free to recommend your favorites !

4 - AbbaTrish (Abbacchio x Trish)

☆ Dynamic : We don’t see them interract very much in canon but I think they would get along pretty well. I can see them talking shit about people behind their back together haha. I love when people imagine them doing their make up together. Once she opens up to him I think he would treat her really nicely. I also remember that Abbacchio seemed proud of her when she said she wanted to help them kill her father in Venice. However I can’t imagine them as a really loving couple. 2,5/5

☆ Aesthetic : The popular mean girls at school. They can and will beat your asses. Their color palette is nice (black/white/purple/pink). 2/3

☆ My own feelings about them : Not my favorite. I think I’m gonna say the same thing as for AbbaMis : I don’t think I would ever draw or write about them, I don’t mind them at all but I’m just not really interested. 0,5/2

✻ total : 5/10 ✻

✿ Fanfiction recomendations : the only one I know isn’t romantic so I guess it doesn’t count. Feel free to recommend some !

5 - AbbaFugo (Abbacchio x Fugo)

☆ Dynamic : They seem to have a lot of respect for each other. I could see Abbacchio helping Fugo to control his anger and Fugo helping Abbacchio to heal his alcoholism. They could be emo together. Omg yes they would absolutly listen to emo music while talking about dark stuff. They are alike in many ways, however I don’t think they would make a really loving couple. 2,5/5

☆ Aesthetic : Their color palettes don’t really match, I can’t really imagine a particular aesthetic with these two, exept maybe for the emo part. 1/3

☆ My own feelings about them : I’ve never really thought about them until now but I think they are neat. Not the best pairing but I would love to read a fanfic about them. 1,5/2

✻ total : 5/10 ✻

✿ Fanfiction recomendations : In the (canon compliant) doujin “Jekyll and Hyde, Five meters” we follow them during a mission before the events of Golden Wind. Their relationship is not romantic in this, so I guess it doesn’t count here, but it’s still really good and it’s a shame the fandom forgets about it.

6 - GioTrish (Giorno x Trish)

☆ Dynamic : Rich girls who both want to know more about their fathers. Investigating together. That would make a nice AU. They were both rased by their mothers, but I like to think that Trish’s mom was a really nice person and that she didn’t get a boyfriend as horrible as Giorno’s step father. But we can’t really know. Maybe they both had the same kind of horrible childhood :( in that case, they could relate to each other even more. They would also make a cute couple. They would be the kind of couple that goes to the art museum. 3/5

☆ Aesthetic : Really elegent aesthetic. They are both pink and gold. If they were a song, it would be Roses and gold by Biig Piig. The fact that their stands look alike is nice. Maybe it means that their soul are similar ? Because they are both the child of a villain ? 2/3

☆ My own feelings about them : Not my fav. I feel like if a homophobic person wants to ship something in Golden Wind that would be GioTrish because Trish is the only girl and Giorno is the main chracter. ½

✿ Fanfiction recomendations : I don’t know any good one about them but if you do, feel free to recommend it to me because I would absolutely read something about them.

7 - FugoNara (Fugo x Narancia)

☆ Dynamic : They are canon okay. - sorry I got carried away -. They care a lot about each other. They are the best person for each other. Narancia being too childish and Fugo being too serious makes their relationship balance and we can see that they learn how to control their anger issues together in the restaurant scene : they can be violent, but they imediatly apologize afterwards. Fugo is the last thing Narancia thinks about before dying and the shot with Aerosmith’s shadow flying on top of Fugo while he looks at the sky like he know his soulmate just died makes me cry a lot. When I lay in bed at night I imagine a happy reunion between them in which they run into each other’s arms and Fugo is like “thank God you’re safe” and Narancia is like “I’m sorry I left you Fugo, I missed you so much”… Let’s just pretend that’s what happened ;-;. They make such a great couple. They would have the sweetest and most loving relationship. 5/5

☆ Aesthetic : They are both associated with fruits (Fugo -> strawberry ; Narancia -> Orange). They have that light hair / dark hair thing, they also have that good student / bad student vibe. Their color palettes match but they are not the prettiest I’m sorry 2/3

☆ My own feelings about them : My babies. I love them. If I could I would talk about them all day. I even dream about them. I read every fanfiction I can find and cherish every single fanart so please make more of them 2/2

✿ Fanfiction recomendations : Smalltown Boy by Kiukumbeer on Ao3 and Life Without Boundaries by merulus, on Ao3 as well. They are both unfinished for now but I recommend them anyway because they make me feel things. I follow the authors on tweeter and they seem to be nice people on top of that.
