I have some finished (ish) art! I never finish things! There are lots of bits I don't like but there will be bits I don't like FOREVER so we're calling it for now, folks. This is for @rh_underhill 's Baldurs Gate 2 character on our multiplayer campaign *cough*nerd*cough* and I'll be drawing my own avatar next so we can use them as our portraits in-game! *coughcough*NERD*cough* Her name is Blarghe. Which incidentally is a sound I made a lot while working on this. Art is hard. . . #nerd #baldursgate #baldursgate2 #portrait #avatar #videogames #pcgames #digitalart #drawing #practice #art #artishard #digitalpainting #wacom #painting #myart #nerdart #geek #elf #elfgirl #dagger #rogue #fantasy #fantasyart #dnd #pretty #pinkhair #wip #workinprogress #learning #projects

I had a really good phone interview today and I’m gonna get an in-person interview and I’m feeling hopeful but I mean, if nothing else, I’m gonna get to wear those pants I bought for the last interview I had again.

“I’m from a small country in Africa called Benin. I won the visa lottery to come here. I didn’t even know I was eligible. My brother entered my name and didn’t even tell me. I was studying to be a psychiatrist at the time. I assumed that I’d be able to continue with medical school. But when I arrived here, I found out that none of my credits would transfer. I had a choice: either go home and become a doctor, or start from the bottom. I didn’t speak any English. I didn’t have any money. But I knew if I could somehow make it here, my degree would be much more valuable. So I made the choice to stay. I began practicing English with my young nieces. The first thing I learned was: ‘I’m going to kick you.’ I got a job with a catering company and learned how to say ‘I’m here to deliver your food.’ I studied as many YouTube videos as I could during my free time. It’s been three years now. I’m almost finished with my bachelor’s degree. Just two classes left. At nights I work as a behavioral specialist in a mental health facility. I’m going to take the MCAT in September. My friends back home have all become doctors already, but I try not to think about them. I don’t want to lose my focus. I haven’t made it yet, but I’m making it.”

Hey Ontario, your provincial election is this week.
If you don’t know where to vote or how to vote on June 7th, please read this article.
Please share this on tumblr.
If there is any chance of Doug Ford not becoming Premier in the next few days, voter turnout will need to be very high and for everyone to unify behind the NDP.

People of Ontario!
(Especially you Millennials and such)
You have a provincial election in two days (June 7, 2018).
The Liberal Party of Kathleen Wynn has already admitted that it is not going to win, which means that you have a two-way choice.
On the one hand, you have the Progressive Conservative party of Doug Ford, the brother of the Rob Ford, Toronto’s late, crack-smoking embarassment of a former mayor. He’s running on a Trumpist platform, dressing up give away to the corporations and gutting of the welfare state as populism.
On the other hand, you have the New Democratic Party of Andrea Horwath, who is promising to raise the minimum wage, expand prescription-drug and dental coverage, and relieve student debt, among other things.
The two are currently essentially tied in the polls, but the Conservatives are favoured to win because they hav a geographical advantage. However, the model that gives them this victory is contingent on the young people who would benefit from an NDP government, staying home.
Prove. Them. Wrong.
Go vote. Get your friends to vote. Drive people to the fucking polls if you can.
You alone can stop Trumpism from gaining a toe-hold in Canada.

Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath announced Tuesday that an NDP government will change the law to give full-time workers three weeks of paid vacation, up from the current two.
“Every hard-working Ontarian should be able to build a great life here, and work-life balance is a huge part of that equation,” said Horwath. “After 20 years of Conservative and Liberal governments, families are feeling the squeeze on their time. From better transit to help people commute home to their families quickly, to giving workers a little more vacation time to spend with loved ones, I know we can make Ontario an even better place to live and work.”
“Doug Ford would make things worse when it comes to the time-crunch working people are feeling. He’ll freeze the minimum wage, taking more than $1,000 per year out of the pockets of people who already often work more than one job. And his vow to slash $6 billion from services across the board means services would be cut and squeezed – longer waits for health care, longer waits for busses and streetcars, and certainly no improvement on things like vacation days.”
Horwath’s Change for the Betterplatform commits to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, deliver dental and prescription drug benefits for everyone – including part-time and contract workers – protect temp workers, and make it easier to join a union.
“Ontario’s workers are what makes our economy strong,” said Horwath. “They deserve a government who will stand up for them and their families, and be on their side.”
Horwath’s platform also includes:
Three weeks of paid vacation for full-time workers after the first year of employment
Five paid sick or emergency leave days for workers
10 days paid leave for survivors of domestic violence to access medical care, find safe housing or participate in legal proceedings
Making it harder for employers to label workers “contractors” instead of employees
Requiring temp workers to become permanent employees after 90 days of work
Making sure every Ontarian has prescription drug and dental coverage Investing in thousands of new paid student co-op placements and investing in skilled trades apprenticeship programs

#5yrsago Toronto mayoral car-crash: homicide detectives search mayor's office after tip on crack-smoking video; top staffers quit
More drama from the world of Toronto Mayor “Laughable Bumblefuck” Ford – first, reporters from two rival news entities independently verified the existence of a video showing the mayor smoking what appeared to be crack cocaine and passing racist remarks about the kids on the football team he coached.
The mayor was told by the Catholic high school where he coached football that he was no longer welcome around their boys. The mayor’s chief of staff, Mark Towhey, was escorted out of the building by security after the mayor fired him, allegedly after he told the mayor to go into rehab, and insisted that it would be a bad idea to take back the athletic equipment he’d given to the school that had just canned him.
Then, after the mayor and his brother, Councillor Doug Ford, pursued an approach of near-total silence (apart from some perfunctory denials), the Globe and Mail finally ran an investigative piece on the mayor’s family that it had been working on for 18 months, detailing extensive familial connections to unsavory criminal drug-dealers (and the KKK!) and alleging that Councillor Doug Ford had been one of the top hash dealers in Toronto’s western suburb of Etobicoke. This prompted the Ford brothers to finally break their media silence and go on a mini press-tour, calling reporters “a bunch of maggots” and Globe editor-in-chief John Stackhouse “a disgusting human being,” denying everything. They especially denied that there was a video smoking crack, leading some to speculate that the wealthy Ford family had bought off the video from the drug dealers who’d been shopping it around.
Then Toronto homicide detectives raided the mayor’s office, following a tip that the mayor’s staff knew the where the video was.
And now, finally, the mayor’s press secretary George Christopoulos and his assistant, Isaac Ransom, have both quit.
