Chishiya x F!Y/N
Genre: Confusing Romance (literally) In which both parties have mixed feelings about each other (No bc this suits him so well esp since he's a character that's so hard to predict) Note: Slightly ooc, doesn't take place in the borderlands, college au I suggest listening to this song and knowing the lyrics before reading this to connect to the oneshot better
["Every time we talk, it just hurts so bad 'Cause I don't even know what we are"]
Y/N L/N was sitting at a table alone at lunch with her chin rested on her arms, zoning out. Why you might ask?
Her best friend was Chishiya Shuntaro. They both were close- like two peas in a pod. He was the only other girl that he got along with properly aside from Kuina. Like he was with Kuina, he was comfortable to be with Y/N hours on end. The pros of this was that Y/N easily got help for her thesis and such, and she also got to go to the arcade with Kuina whilst Chishiya paid for their arcade tickets.
But being best friends with Chishiya Shuntaro was also a con in itself.
Chishiya wasn't easy to predict. Not even Kuina, who new him longer than Y/N did, could predict him. Chishiya wasn't the type to be an open book- you'd have to read between the lines to know him better. He wasn't also very open about his emotions. Though he did laugh around with the two girls, he didn't show any emotion other than happiness around them. This also meant that Kuina and Y/N has never seen him in love.
Because of Chishiya's lack of showing if he ever had a love interest, it made Y/N overthink.
Naturally, Y/N had her opinion but she didn't want to seem like she was assuming. It annoyed her though that she couldn't read Chishiya. Normally something like this wouldn't bother her, unless she had a huge fat crush on him.
Which she did.
Oh how she hated how he messed with her. It wasn't like she really was down bad for him at first, but the way he acted with her made her so frustrated.
Frustrated because it made her think he was interested in her.
Y/N slightly jerked as she felt a hand on her head, patting it lovingly as the sound of a chair scraping against the floor was heard; and a soft plop indicating someone had taken the seat next to her. "Are you alright, Powder?" The voice asked with a strong hint of concern, and it only made Y/N's heart sink even more.
The reason the voice called her 'Powder' was because she once absentmindedly drank a cup of cocoa powder, forgetting she hadn't poured hot water into the cup yet.
The reason she hated the voice was because it belonged to none other than Chishiya Shuntaro.
She glanced up only for her eyes to clash with his dark orbs. Her eyes scanned his facial features: from his knitted eyebrows to his small smirk, drifting to the beauty mark right under his left eye.
"Do I look a mess, or is there handsome written all over my face?" He teased
'Yes, Chishiya, you're so handsomely attractive it's annoying'
"Handsome? Don't feel so mighty about yourself, you look like a monkey" She interjected instead.
She felt something tugging at her shoes and looked underneath the table to see his shoe stepping on her shoelace and pulling away, causing her lace to untie.
She scowled and smacked his arm making him groan as she reached down to also untie his lace. "Jeez, your shoelace was already loose." Chishiya winced, rubbing his arm.
Kuina suddenly appeared, wrapping her arms around their shoulders.
"Guys, let's hang out at my place. There's a new movie and a friend of mine downloaded it, so we can watch it at home."
Y/N looked at Kuina "Isn't that illegal?" "As if those series you watch aren't on illegal sites" Chishiya said as Y/N smacked him yet again.
"Stop fighting and answer me, are you going or not?" Kuina asked, making Chishiya look at Y/N.
"I'm going if Powder is"
His statement made Y/N's heart flutter but she ignored it, rolling her eyes. "I'm going, why would I back out of a hang out with dearest Kuina?"
__________________
They were at Kuina's place and it had been a few hours or so. They were munching on snacks and Kuina sighed, throwing her gaming console on her bed. "Snacks won't do, I'll go heat the pasta so we can have a proper meal." She said as she headed out of her room.
Y/N continued playing but could see Chishiya at the corner of her eye as he got up and shifted to Kuina's seat which was next to her.
"What are you doing? That's Kuina's seat." She mentioned, turning her head to face him.
He didn't speak but leaned towards her and she moved back on impulse, only for him to grab her chin gently.
Y/N's breath hitched as she looked at Chishiya, her eyes darting on either of his. She watched as his gaze moved from her right eye to her left then to her forehead, before dropping to her lips. Y/N's grip on the console weakened and she felt as if her heart stopped then and there.
'Is he actually about to kiss me-?'
"Silly girl, can't you eat properly? You have chip crumbs in your mouth." He muttered calmly, his thumb swiping on the corner of her lips before pulling away and moving back to his seat, continuing to play like nothing happened.
Y/N again felt that horrible pit at her stomach with a mix of butterflies, but chose to push it aside.
Kuina came back to the room with a big bowl of pasta and three forks, and they all sat on the floor to eat. Chishiya had clumsily dropped his fork, making Kuina snicker. Without hesitation he took Y/N's fork out of her hand- twirling it in the pasta before lifting it to his mouth, but Kuina stopped him. "Oi, that's Y/N's fork. Go get another one or use mine, you know Y/N's still eating right?"
He just looked at her, eyebrows raised with that signature cheeky smile of his. "Well you're also eating. I'm too lazy to get up and besides you eat like a goat, your fork as sauce all over it. Y/N's fork is neater." He said as he ate the pasta on the same fork Y/N was just using.
Y/N stared in disbelief, her eyes trying to read him for any sort of sign if he was just simply messing with her.
Yet again she was falling for him even harder, yet again Chishiya Shuntaro couldn't see the things he was doing to Y/N.
_________________
Soon enough it was getting late so the two had to head home, both saying goodbye to Kuina before walking to the bus stop.
It was a quiet comfortable stroll, yet Y/N's throat itched to spill out what she'd wanted to ask Chishiya.
"I can feel that something is bothering you." Chishiya spoke randomly as he walked ahead slowly, hands in his pockets.
"Are you my psychiatrist?" Y/N jokes as she walks, stopping a few steps behind Chishiya since he too had stopped walking.
"Yes, in a year's time once I've graduated college and put up my own studio. I'll be generous enough to offer you a 10% discount on your first session."
Y/N could tell he was joking to ease the mood.
But then if she could tell whenever he was joking, why couldn't she tell if he was just messing with her in a friendly way?
"Tell me what's on your mind, Powder." He spoke gently, taking a step closer to her.
Y/N could feel that the wall she was trying to build was falling apart. It was so easy for Chishiya to capture her emotions in such a way that he could make her weak in the knees with just a few words.
"I can't tell you-" "Because you think it will ruin our friendship? Nothing you say can do that Y/N, I assure you. Please tell me what's on your mind." He interrupted her as she stood, mouth slightly agape at his immediate comprehension of her emotions.
She hesitated, nibbling the inside of her cheek before giving in. "It's just, I feel like what's happening between us is confusing me. I admit that I admire you but I can't say it to your face. The way you look at me makes me weak and I find it so hard to stop myself from telling you how I truly feel.. but certainly there's no way I could end up with you."
He remained silent for a few moments before responding. "Why?"
"I know you just see me as a friend, so I'm sorry I'm overwhelming you with my emotions." He was going to interrupt but she continued. "Every time you look at me the way you do now I have to constantly remind myself that I'm just a friend to you, and you're a friend who's just looking out for me-"
"Friends don't look at friends that way." He finally interrupts, causing Y/N's eyebrows to knit together in confusion.
"What?"
Instead of replying, he chuckled and turned away, continuing to walk to the bus stop.
"After class tomorrow, wait for me outside the school gate. We can eat out at your favorite cafe and study together.
'Is this a da-'
"Before you ask, yes it's a date."
Her lips lifted into a smile as she walked after Chishiya, feeling a bubbly feeling inside.
Maybe Y/N no longer needed to worry about what Chishiya really thought about her.
A/N: heyy guys, another update. I wanted to write this because i'm in a similar situation (i think) with my crush. OR i'm probably being delusional, which seems more of a realistic answer. The reason I came up with the 'Powder' nickname is because that's what my crush calls me. I hope you have a lovely day! If you have requests, kindly put it on the Author's Note section of this oneshot compilation :))

Sunato Banda x F!Y/N
Genre: ??? (literally when I write about Banda I have no idea if he fits the romance genre, gals it's prob obsession but oh well) Obsession TW: Sunato Banda, Stalking involved (?) ["My doctors can't explain My symptoms or my pain But you are my strange addiction"]
Y/N L/N had entered the Jack of Hearts game with Chishiya Shuntaro.
"Why are you even here again? Didn't you say you wanted to go with Kuina?" Chishiya asked plainly, hands in his pockets as they stood outside the game arena.
"Not like I had a choice, Cheese Boy. You're just saying that because you don't want to be with someone annoying as me, right?"
"You said that yourself- ow" Y/N interrupted midsentence, pulling a generous amount of his hair harshly. "Y/N what the hell! I've just washed my hair with conditioner, don't ruin it" "Jerk, sometimes I don't know why i'm friends with you"
Chishiya was Y/N's best friend before the borderlands. They grew up together since his father knew hers, and Y/N was constantly at his house so he says he had 'no choice but to befriend that annoying monkey'.
"Whatever. Just be sensible and stick to me. This is a Hearts game, so you can't trust anyone but me. Okay?"
"I know, i'm not stupid"
_____________________
They stepped into the game area, collars locked around their necks. Chishiya glanced around, eyeing everyone in the room.
"He looks fishy, maybe he's the Jack" Y/N murmured to Chishiya, who turned to her and subtly followed her gaze to a male with kempt black hair. He wore a blue polo shirt lousily tucked into his grey pants. He stood at a corner next to another male with his bangs over one of his eyes- he wore a striped polo underneath a grey cardigan. "You think the blue polo guy is the Jack?" Y/N asked a little too blatantly, catching the male's attention from across the room. His mouth twisted into a small smirk and he began striding towards the two.
"Crap, he must have heard me." Y/N muttered.
The male stood before them glancing at the two silently, the same small smirk still plastered on his face. His expression made Y/N L/N feel unsettled.
"I heard you speaking about me. There's no need to be shy to approach me.. I don't bite" He laughed before holding out his hand. "Sunato Banda, it's a pleasure to meet people who are interested in me."
Y/N's eyes drifted to Chishiya who just stared at Sunato blankly, probably trying to read him. She noticed that Chishiya's eyebrows knit together for a split second, and she didn't blame him. Sunato Banda wasn't easy to read, his smirk didn't show any ill intention, but his eyes had a glint to them- a glint that the both couldn't understand. Y/N reached out and quickly shook hands with Sunato so as to not make the atmosphere awkward. He gripped her hand firmly as they shook hands, before he planted a soft kiss on her wrist.
"Your hand feels smooth. It suits you, Y/N."
Y/N's eyes shot up to meet his, surprise etched in her orbs. "H..how do you know my name?" She stammered, withdrawing her hand from him. "This isn't the first time I've encountered you" He said, his smirk growing wider. Y/N could feel her heart beating rapidly in her chest as she stared at the man in pure disbelief. Without warning, he laughed yet again.
"Gosh, I'm kidding. You look cute when you're shocked. I saw your name on the screen over there, when people join the game, their name and image shows up on the screen."
Chishiya and Y/N immediately turned to where Sunato was pointing to see that he wasn't wrong, everyone's names including theirs were recorded on the huge tv screen on the wall. Y/N could hear Chishiya softly let out a sigh of relief; and Y/N also breathed out with the same feeling, not even realizing she had held her breath.
"Let's team up. This is Eiji Matsushita, he teamed up with me. This is a game of trust, and I assure you that we are both trustworthy. What do you say to make an alliance?" Sunato asked the both of them.
Y/N opened her mouth to reply but Chishiya beat her to it. "Thank you for the offer, but we'll work alone. It's better to work in smaller groups, so when a ruckus is caused everybody can worry about themselves easily. Let's go, Y/N"
_______________
The amount of people slowly decreased and as Chishiya predicted there was a ruckus, people losing trust in others or voting who to secretly tell the wrong symbol to, guessing who the Jack could possibly be. The two were sitting together in the food area, munching absentmindedly on biscuits and chocolates.
Y/N's eyes drifted to the other table nearby to see Eiji sitting alone, staring at an empty packet of Dairy Milk.
"Cheese, do you have any guess who the Jack is?" She asked, only to get no response. "Chishiya" she turned back to see him staring at her, his hand holding out the packet of biscuits he was still munching on.
"You should try this, it tastes great." He replied nonchalantly, making Y/N scoff and snatch the biscuits away from him. "You women are so rude. I just offer biscuits, and you turn me down. I'm to handsome to be rejected, you know." He raised his eyebrows, his lips lifting into that teasing smile that annoyed Y/N so much.
"Who says your handsome? And stop that, we aren't here for you to act like a sweet innocent cookie-selling boy scout. We should focus. Who do you think is the Jack?" She asked him, regaining his attention.
"I have an idea but I won't tell you. You're smart, figure it out yourself" he shrugged, and she scoffed hitting the back of his head with her empty biscuit box.
"How about you, who do you think?" He asked her, rubbing his head
"I think it's that Sunato guy. He asks so strangely, and he seems unaffected after all the chaos and loss of game attendees. It's like he knows it's going to happen- like he planned all of this."
"I have my suspicion, and I agree with you. He's unreadable, earlier when we first got here I couldn't understand what his motives are. But I don't think he's the Jack, someone else fits the description of a Jack." Chishiya spoke calmly, sending a furtive glance to Eiji.
"Say what you want, but I really think it's that Sunato guy. If i'm wrong, I'll eat an entire bag of those biscuits you offered me earlier." She said confidently, and he smiled.
"Silly girl, whatever works for you."
________________
The game ended and Y/N was perplexed to see that Eiji was the Jack the whole time.
"That's impressive, Cheese. Eiji was the least suspicious person for me. He was always so quiet and he even seemed nervous of dying." She said as they strolled out of the game area.
"Impressive? Y/N, I'm Shuntaro Chishiya. This isn't impressive, it's the usual."
"Stop boasting or I'll bash your head against the wall."
"How about you eat the biscuits? I won after all"
She searched through her pockets then his, and smiled triumphantly. "You didn't bring any, and I didn't. I don't have to taste it, thank goodness"
"You hate the biscuits that much?" "It's only for clowns" "Haha, funny"
Y/N glanced at the sky for a few moments.
"Chishiya, i'll just get more supplies and food stocks before it gets too dark. We can find the others tomorrow." She informed him and he nodded, so she went off.
_________________
Y/N was gathering supplies and canned food into her backpack and turned around to leave, but bumped into a chest. She looked up to apologize but froze, the hair on the back of her neck tingling as she saw who it was.
"Funny seeing you here. I didn't see you after the game so I thought that dumb blonde (you'll always be a dumb blonde, ba ba ba da da da~) decided to lie to you about your symbol." Sunato Banda smirked yet again, making Y/N feel unsettled.
"He would never lie to me. Why are you here anyways?" She asked
"I want you to come with me." He said out of the blue
"Why should I?"
He had reached for her wrist dragging her along, Y/N failed to fight him off so she reluctantly followed.
They entered a shabby room on the second floor of an old apartment complex just nearby. Y/N was astonished as she took in her surroundings. The floor was mopped clean of dust and the windows were clear. The sofa was neat and the throw pillows had clean sheets on. Even the electric battery-stove had a kettle burning on it.
Before Y/N could react, Sunato pushed her to sit down on the sofa heading to the kitchen area to probably get refreshments.
"Here..I got this specially for you." He mentioned calmly, placing a tray of food before her.
Y/N froze, seeing the contents of the tray.
On the tray was a hot cup of tea, and right beside it was something Y/N wasn't expecting.
Right beside the cup of tea was a bag of the exact same biscuits Chishiya was offering her during the Jack of Hearts game.
Sunato leaned forward, the same smirk plastered on his lips, his eyes darkening ever so slightly as he held up the bag of biscuits towards her.
"It was an honor to be one of your suspicions during the game. But you do have a point, right? I do seem strange and unaffected during the game."
'How does he knows I said that about him?'
Y/N could hear her heart thumping in her chest. She could feel sweat trickling down her forehead as she held her breath, her gaze frozen on his.
"What are you playing at?" She snapped, her voice crack giving away her fear.
His smirk grew wider, shaking the bag in his hand as the sound of the biscuits shaking inside filled the room. The atmosphere felt thick and uncomfortable, the energy radiating from the male in a blue polo unknown yet unsettling.
"I don't think it would be fair on Chishiya Shuntaro if you don't keep your promise on the bet.. don't you think?"
Y/N felt a pang of bravery in herself and used that small ounce of strength left in her to shove Sunato and run out the room, his laugh ringing in her ears as she stumbled down the flight of stairs back to her temporary place with Chishiya.
She arrived at the makeshift campout, panting heavily. Y/N then felt her delayed reaction, her legs shaking and turning to jelly, the hair on her arms still tingling against her skin. Chishiya got up and went to her, catching her as her legs gave way.
"Woah, are you okay? What happened? Where have you been?"
His questions were nonsense to her ringing ears, all she could hear was the dry eerie laugh that erupted from Banda as she rushed down the stairs out of the apartment complex. She could still smell the cup of tea, and the shaking of the biscuit bag.
Whoever the man in the blue polo was, Y/N didn't want to think about his name ever again.
However, a few hundred meters away from where she was, Sunato Banda sat on the very spot Y/N sat on in the couch, staring at the cup of tea that had now gone cold, the bag of biscuits still in his hand.
The man in the blue polo wouldn’t forget the girl that placed a bet because she assumed he was Jack of Hearts.
And he certainly wouldn’t forget the feeling of her soft palm as he shook her hand.
He wanted to feel it again.
A/N: Helloo, sorry I haven't been writing. I've been super busy since I just finished my junior moving up ceremony and I'm fixing my enrollment for senior high. Apologies if Sunato is slightly ooc, i did my best. I got motivated after I read a tumblr on this so it's slightly inspired. I hope you enjoy! You may put up requests on the Author's Note section before all the oneshots :)) Have a great day!

Kyuma x GN!Reader
Genre: Angst (one sided/listen to Drunk Text Me) Romantic [In which his love for you is nonexistent]
["So why don't you drunk text me? Saying you still need me Tell me I'm not like her I made you happier"]
They were married to Ginji Kyuma for almost a year, it was for a business contract. Even though it was arranged, Y/N didn't really mind.
Maybe it was because they'd already loved him before the arranged marriage was even announced.
Kyuma wasn't like all those typical men that were in an arranged marriage, no. He treated Y/N well; he tried to be a good husband to them. He never raised his voice at them, and he let them do what they wanted. He did everything he could to treat them good, and Y/N felt loved. Y/N loved Kyuma so much, but there was one obvious thing that Y/N tried oh so hard to ginore.
Every time they looked into his eyes, they could see that he only treated them that way as 'part of the contract'.
Thing is, before the contract, Kyuma had a girlfriend. They'd been together for a long time, and the reason he couldn't propose to Hana (the gf) was because of his arranged marriage with Y/N. He loved Hana with all his heart, and an arranged contract wouldn't change his mind on how he felt for her.
Y/N knew this, yet they tried so hard to ignore it. They selfishly hoped that maybe Kyua would lose his feelings for Hana, and be content with Y/N instead.
All that hope came crashing down when Kyuma stood like a lost puppy at their household doorstep, cheeks red and hair a mess. His clothes had the lingering scent of alcohol on it, and it was quite obvious he was drunk.
"Kyuma? You idiot, come inside. Why are you even drunk? You don't even drink a lot" Y/N fussed as they led him to the bedroom handing him a glass of water.
"Hana..we had a fight. She said she wants to end the relationship, she said she wanted to be the only person in my life. She doesn't want to be married to me anymore because I'm married to you. It hurts so much Y/N, why does it hurt?" He sobbed
Y/N's eyes lowered to the floor, feeling pity. They knew he was drunk, yet they knew that Kyuma meant every single word.
"How much do you love her?"
The question itself was suicide, yet Y/N wanted to know.
Kyuma's eyes glistened the moment Hana was mentioned, and Y/N already knew his answer before he even said it.
"So much. If I could, we'd already be together by now."
Ouch.
His confession hit them like a stab to the chest. Y/N couldn't help but love Kyuma, even if he had made it clear that they didn't matter to him as much as Hana did.
"Kyuma.. I don't want to see you sad like this. I want you to be happy."
"I want to be happy too Y/N. Please, let me go and be happy. I'm not the one for you." His words slurred as his head fell forward, trying hard to stay awake.
"Your happiness is all that ever mattered to me Kyuma. I'm sorry I kept you away from what you truly wanted.. I'll set you free." Y/N murmured as they slipped the ring off their ring finger, placing it on his bedside table.
Y/N cupped his face one last time, searching for something. Searching his facial expression, searching his eyes for a reason to stay.
Alas, his drunken expression revealed nothing; and Y/N already knew he wouldn't stop them from leaving.
<><><><><>
The sun's beams entering the room from the open window had woken Kyuma up. His head ached, he groaned grabbing a bottle of Advil to help with his hangover.
"Y/N, are you making breakfast? Sorry I got home drunk, I was at a party with my friends-"
Kyuma paused.
He couldn't catch the scent of the apple pie Y/N would usually bake in the mornings, and he couldn't heard their home speaker lasting 'Hit the Road Jack' like it usually did.
"Y/N?"
He went down the stairs only to see everything the same way it usually was. The coffee machine was unused and Y/N's coffee mug wasn't in the sink. The blinds weren't drawn and Y/N's usual morning vanilla scented candles weren't lit. Of course they weren't lit.
It took Kyuma a few moments to realize that the candles were no longer there.
What?
He rushed up the stairs, slowly taking in his surroundings. The closet was ajar and only his clothes were left behind. Y/N's house slippers were gone as well as their luggage bags. He turned to the side and froze to see Y/N's wedding ring perched on the bedside table by the lamp.
Then it hit him.
Kyua remembered the events of last night, how he had told Y/N about his argument with Hana and how he wanted to be with her. He then remembered how Y/N had apologized to him and cupped his face before leaving the wedding ring and putting him to bed.
Y/N must have left when he was asleep.
He felt a lump in his throat, feeling bad for pushing Y/N away like that. He knew how Y/N made an effort to keep their relationship somewhat intact even if it was one-sided.
A part of him wanted to apologize, but a part of him was grateful that Y/N was selfless enough to let him marry the girl of his dreams.
<><><><><>
"Will you take Kyuma Ginji, as your husband?"
"I do."
"You may kiss the bride."
Y/N couldn't believe Kyuma had invited them to his wedding with Hana. They watched as the both kissed and their jaw clenched.
The rules were clear to Y/N. Only one person could get what they want and the other had to suffer, and Y/N was the one that had to suffer.
This is what you get when you fall for someone who's given their heart to someone that isn't you.

Karube x Fem!Reader
Genre: Angst (TW: no comfort/fluff, reader's possible death) Romantic [In which Karube makes a mistake with a horrid consequence]
["Would we be better off by now If I'd have let my walls come down?"]
You know how people say that most high school sweethearts don't last, and will never work out?
Karube and Y/N were a different story. They'd been together since their third year of high school (grade 9 in my country) and have remained strong ever since. If there was a misunderstanding they talked it out rather than start a nonsense fight against each other. They graduated together and lived together in an apartment. Y/N became a journalist for the news and Karube was a bartender.
The both had barely enough to get by but they did just fine, supporting each other in any way they could. Because of that, Y/N worked over time and sometimes didn't even come home. She couldn't always have time for Karube but she tried her best to squeeze him into her schedules.
Then Emi.
Ever since Karube's boss brought his girlfriend along, things..changed. The both would sneak glances at each other during their shifts and would flirt time to time. At first Karube's guilty conscience told him to stop, but due to giving into Emi over and over again he couldn't stop himself. Casual dates after their shift at a nearby coffee shop turned into him going to her place, turned into them kissing, and now the two had a secret relationship.
Ever since he had gotten with Emi, Y/N noticed how he didn't have time for their dates, or how he mostly just stood her up and didn't text her to tell her that he wasn't coming for their date at all. She figured it was her fault for not spending time with him, so she decided to apologize. Y/N had cooked him his favorite dish and put it in a bento, visiting him at his workplace.
Only to be hit with a first class view of him and Emi kissing by the bar counter.
No, it wouldn't have hurt Y/N, but the way he kissed Emi was different. When Karube kissed Y/N, it was always just a quick peck and a murmured 'i love you'; yet here he was holding Emi's waist firmly pulling her into his chest as he murmured praises into her lips. "Dai" Y/N called out, and he pulled away from Emi.
"Oh, you're here" he said nonchalantly pointing at the bento "Is that for me-"
"Seriously? I catch you cheating on me and all you can say is 'oh, you're here'? What the heck Dai!" Y/N interrupted, snapping at him.
"So it's my fault? Really now?! If you failed to notice, my dear Y/N, you're always at work! We barely have time for each other, it's not my fault that I found someone that will actually be here for me no matter what!" He yelled back, pissed.
"I do everything in my ability to spend time with you. I take effort into leaving between my shifts just to be with you Dai! Last time I checked you didn't even have the initiative to visit me at work! You just work at this damn bar, surely you could've come to see me right?" Y/N countered as her hands were displayed in fists, then Karube dropped the final blow.
"You know, our old classmates were right. We'd never work out. I tried my best to love you after we graduated you know? I discovered how different we are from each other. We weren't meant to last, Y/N. Let's break up, you can pack your things and move out tomorrow."
And he let her go, just like that. 10 years of their relationship gone in a flash.
Y/N moved out the same day because she couldn't bare the sight of him and his new trophy, Emi. To cope, she drowned herself in her job, barely resting. She needed to get her mind off Karube, he wasn't worth her energy.
<><><><><>
"I'm sorry Miss L/N, but based on my observation you have Stage 3 lung cancer. I'm afraid there is no cure, and the life expectancy is maybe 4-5 years more."
Y/N clearly blamed herself for this, it was her fault for overworking. She thanked the doctor as she headed out. She wanted to enjoy the life she had left, so she unburdened herself from her work. She resigned the very next day, and with the money she saved she decided to travel the world. Now was her time to empty her bucket list.
<><><><><>
It had been a few years and Y/N was down to her last few months left. The last country she wanted to visit was France, she had tons of sketches of the places she'd been to, and now she was sketching Paris into her memory.
"Y/N?"
She glanced away from sketching the Eiffel Tower to see Karube staring at her in shock. "It's really you? Wow..you look different. I didn't expect to meet you here, small world huh?" He smiled at her softly, but Y/N didn't return it. "I didn't think I'd see you here either. Why isn't Emi with you?" She tried to ake clear with the tone of her voice that she didn't want to have this conversation with him, but he hadn't caught on. "Ah, we broke up. Turns out she was dating the owner of the club and I was just her affair. She broke it off around 3 months after you left." He explained, sitting on the bench beside her. "About well you know, I'm sorry I kicked you out. Turns out I was just infatuated-"
"Infatuated? Getting caught kissing a different girl by your own girlfriend and not even apologizing for it isn't infatuation, Karube. It's betrayal and a ton of trust lost." She replied coldly. Karube was taken aback at how she spoke his name with venom laced in her words, how she looked at him with hatred in her eyes.
"Look I know i destroyed that trust but please, at least let's not have a grudge on one another."
"I don't want to talk to you Karube-" she got up to leave only to double over in pain, coughing. Karube got up confused but went pale to see blood in her palm.
"Y/- Y/N!" he caught her as her knees buckled below herself, rushing her to the hospital.
<><><><><>
"I'm sorry sir, but she didn't make it. It was her time to be taken by her sickness."
"Sickness?"
"You didn't know sir? She had lung cancer."
Karube froze on the spot unmoving even after the doctor left him. He burst into her room hoping it was a foolish prank to get him back, only to see her laying still and peaceful, the life drained off her face. Tears slowly slid off Karube's cheeks as he cupped her face, his thumb caressing her cheek as he pulled her into a heart wrenching hug, apologizing to her over and over again.
Because of him and his stupid infatuation, rather than him spending time with her he was out with another girl. He realized Y/N's efforts of visiting him even during her shifts, and how he didn't visit her even once. He realized that she was supportive to him and how she was always there when he needed comfort, unlike Emi who never listened to him or comforted him. Emi only went to him when she had problems, while Y/N always made sure to check up on him.
If it wasn't for him getting attached to Emi, he would still be with Y/N. Because of his selfishness, rather than being in bed cuddling her, here he was holding her fragile lifeless figure in his arms.
So now, whenever he spots young high school couples holding hands or being affectionate in public, Karube Daikichi is now among the people that say high school sweethearts never last.
Note from Author: Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been updating. Arisu x GN!Reader
Genre: Angst (school/normal!AU) Romantic [In which reader has that unrequited love moment]
["These are the words I held back, I was leaving too soon I was enchanted to meet you"]
Arisu Ryohei.
Yeah, Y/N L/N was head over heels for him. All their friends knew except him, which made Y/N relieved that they didn't seem obvious.
You must be wondering who Arisu is to Y/N, aside from being their crush.
Arisu and Y/N have been friends ever since they moved to the school for their first year of high school (gr 7). He was one of their first friends in their batch, and they were entirely grateful since they were bullied for being the youngest in their section. Arisu was the first to introduce himself and befriend Y/N. Their friendship slowly grew into a friend group with a few other people Y/N got close with, and Arisu was part of that friend group.
Y/N never thought they'd ever fall for Arisu. Heck, Arisu wouldn't even be the last resort if they couldn't find anyone decent to have a crush on. Another important note was that Y/N hadn't had a crush for almost 4 years through high school; they didn't even plan to like anyone until they had suddenly fallen for Arisu.
How couldn't they fall for him? Arisu treated them well, he was such a gentleman. Y/N and Arisu always go home together; he usually treats them ice cream on the way home or he offers to carry their bag, then they'd gossip or he'd listen to them vent and he would comfort them. He was caring and kind, and he always put them first before anything.
Who wouldn't fall for Arisu, when he was a walking forest? A green flag?
The thing is, Arisu had a girlfriend so Y/N couldn't make their move- until he broke up with her because she kept gas lighting him.
Y/N thought they had their chance. Valentines Day was in a month, they had plenty of time. They planned to tell Arisu after they were sure Arisu was no longer hurt about his ex-girlfriend. Y/N had told the rest of the friend group and Chota even offered to help them write a confession letter.
But they were too late.
The next moment they opened the group chat, the first message they saw was Arisu's message.
'Guys I think I like someone, she's so pretty'
What? He likes someone already? It hurt Y/N even more when they realized it was the transfer student, Hana Minamura.
Y/N tried to brush it off, since she wanted Arisu to be happy. They supported him and even hyped him up to tell Hana. Y/N begged their friends not to tell Arisu, and they respected that decision.
Then one day, Arisu was devastated because Hana stood him up. She asked him out on a date and on the day before she had told him she was going out with Lee, another male classmate who had also liked her. Y/N comforted him of course, and he soon was ignoring Hana. Y/N thought she had a chance and wanted to confess to him the next day, but her plans failed miserably.
"Hana and I sorted things out, i'm going to court her again"
It was valentines and Y/N had to witness Arisu being clingy to Hana. He always talked about her in the group chat and Y/N had to play it cool, supporting him and even teasing him about it.
Y/N L/N was so glad Arisu was oblivious to the fact they liked him, but it hurt.
Why not Y/N?
Y/N was there longer, and Arisu had only met Hana that year when she transferred. Y/N was there for Arisu through everything, they were there when they needed advice on Hana, they were there to comfort him when Hana stood him up, they were there more than Hana ever was, so why was he picking her?
Y/N gripped the crumpled letter they were supposed to hand Arisu after valentines day, watching as Arisu had his arm around Hana's waist smiling with her and laughing with her.
It felt so unfair to Y/N, seeing Hana with Arisu. Y/N felt so disappointed in themself, seeing Hana stole Arisu's attention within just a short period of time.
For a moment, Y/N wished that Arisu wasn't so oblivious. They wished that he knew they liked him, maybe then Arisu would finally accept their feelings and either accept or reject them.
Arisu was blind, and Y/N was left at the peak of their emotions.
Their tears fell and they angrily tossed the letter into the bin, Karube and Chota watching in worry as they stormed off into the washrooms.
Arisu Ryohei was blinded to the fact that someone admired him way more than a friend, and chased after someone that probably didn't even have any interest in him. The selfish bit of Y/N wanted Hana to reject him, but then Y/N knew that once she did confess to Arisu after he got rejected, he would accept them.
Y/N didn't want to treat themself as Arisu's last resort.
Y/N L/N wasn't really meant for Arisu Ryohei, and it was slowly sinking in.
Author's note: Hello! I'm finally back hehe, sorry for disappearing for so long. I know I have a pending request, I'll write it as soon as I can requester-san! I just felt motivated to write this, it's kind of inspired off of my in-real-life crush experience :'). Not everything in the story is based off what really happened though but most parts are heavily inspired hehe. Happy belated Valentines day loves! <3

Niragi x GN!Reader
Genre: Platonic [TW: Mentions of Niragi hurting reader, mentions of getting choked] Angst to Fluff In which someone finally doesn't see Niragi as just a monster
["Cause you brought out the best of me You took my soul wiped it clean"]
Suguru Niragi
Who was he known as, back in school days? The wimp. The loser. The freak. Good for nothing. The nerd. A weak boy. He would always be tormented by classmates and upperclassmen. His first ever girlfriend was just using him.
"What makes you think I love you?" She had laughed at him as he stood in the gym, surrounded by his classmates. "I just used you. You're smart, why would I let that go to waste? Goodness, you're so hopeless. Maybe learn not to trust so much next time, hm?" She jabbed her finger on his forehead multiple times, his classmates taking videos and laughing while he teared up feeling so ashamed.
That was probably the reason he changed so much.
Suguru Niragi
Who was he known as? A psychopath. A merciless man. Arrogant and prideful. Uncaring and nonchalant. An abuser, a delinquent.
A monster
He gave the people what they thought of him, and he didn't care. He finally felt superior to everyone, no one could hurt him anymore. If they call him a monster he'll be one. He no longer trusted people, and bringing pain to them made him feel better about himself.
No, he was no longer that weak school boy that never fought back. He wasn't the school boy that would let himself get beaten to a pulp. He was no longer that school boy that let people use him. No, in this case, he would be the one doing it to people without mercy.
After all, they deserve to be put through the hell they served him on a golden platter right?
Then came a new beach member, number 306. Y/N L/N.
Niragi had this thing where he'd torture the new members for weeks to test their patience and also for his pleasure. Y/N unfortunately would face that.
He gave no mercy, always hitting them or saying horrible things. The only strange thing was that he couldn't bring himself to use them for his pleasures. He couldn't seem to be able to do such a thing.
But why? Why, when he could do it to others with no hesitation? Why did he have second thoughts when hurting them?
They too didn't seem so bothered about it. No matter what he did, they were always so optimistic. They were a bundle of balled up unreleased sunshine waiting to bring light to their cruel reality.
Niragi had been annoyed, and decided to confront them. He found them by the roof, and he grabbed them by the arm pinning them to the wall and wrapping his hand around their throat harshly. Y/N seemed unfazed, only slightly raising their eyebrows.
"I didn't think you'd be awake, hello Niragi-san" They said calmly.
"Your expression sickens me, so does your voice" He spat. "Why are you so calm huh? Why can't you just be freaked out like the others? You think I'm a monster huh? Just say it!" He yelled
"What? A monster? Who would think of you that way? I don't"
His expression softened, his grip on their neck loosening.
"What?"
They held the hand that Niragi had on their neck, wrapping their palm around his wrist gently. Niragi looked at the gesture and back up to see them smiling softly at him, looking at his eyes.
"I was your underclassman, back at our school. I didn't like seeing you get so hurt, but I couldn't stand up for you. I too was in your situation. Mocked, ridiculed, bullied, abused, used and many more. I looked up to you so much you know? No matter what they did to you, you didn't hurt them back. If I were you, I'd be in so much rage." Y/N explained and Niragi stayed silent, wanting to hear more.
"This cruel reality shows up out of nowhere years later after we left the school. I saw you once before, and I noticed how much you'd improved." Y/N gestured to him, chuckling.
"When I got here and I saw you, I was so relieved. I was so happy to see someone I knew, but when I saw the way you acted I was so confused. I wanted to hate you, to hit you, to call you a monster." The last word was venom-laced and Niragi had drew in a sharp breath, his grip on their neck tightening ever so slightly as he felt suddenly weak- he was being ridiculed just like before, and he didn't like it.
"But then I understood that you aren't really a monster."
"Obviously, your school experience was horrible. It drove you to be the worst version of yourself. Here you are, hurting people and finding joy in it. Wouldn't it be pathetic of me to call you a monster, when the real monsters created who you became now?" They asked him; and his grip faltered as he searched their eyes for any hidden remorse or manipulation, yet he saw none.
Y/N L/N was being truly genuine to him, something he never received often from anyone he ever met.
"I believe you are a good person. The cruelty of this world has driven you to light the match to the gas they spilled before you, and you got caught in it. I believe you could be better, if only you don't let the wickedness faze you." They reached up, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"You aren't a monster, Niragi. I know you don't like who you are now, and that you want to put an end to this. Prove to me, that you aren't monster."
Niragi dropped his hand that was around their neck, noticing the reddish mark he had left. He had been so cruel to them, yet here they were without an ounce of hate for him in their heart. For the first time, he felt like someone actually cared for him. That they weren't just manipulating him to use him in the future, or that they were only saying this to save themselves.
No, it felt all too genuine. Rather than pushing him away, they made him realize his potential. They stayed even though they could be burned by the flames of his wrath. For the first time in years, someone gave him a name. He wasn't a nobody anymore. Y/N L/N made him feel human, made him feel he was worth being loved. Y/N L/N made him feel important, cherished and respected.
"I'm sorry for hurting you, I'll prove to you that I can be better." He bowed his head, and Y/N gave him a tight warm hug.
"I knew you had it in you."
He smiled to himself, hearing that Y/N had faith in him. He felt proud knowing someone believed in him, that someone trusted him.
'I'm not a monster.' He told himself.
He was Suguru Niragi.
Author's note: I made this fic because I remembered Niragi's backstory. It was a pity he still ended up being the bad guy, I was so happy to see his character development but it turns out it was only a false hope :( I wondered what would have happened if he actually became nice, that would've been great to see. I know he was an abuser and that's nothing to be taken lightly, but a part of me hoped he had actually changed for the better, though I did know it would be impossible. If you don't agree with me, it's fine. This is only my opinion on Niragi's character, so please refrain from sending hate in the comments, thanks! <33

Chishiya x Fem!Reader
Genre: Romance, Angst (TW: Reader!Death, QueenofHearts!Reader, lazily made drabble) Romantic [REQUESTED]
["Two lovers met Two strangers left"]
"I'll go"
They turned to Chishiya, who was standing calmly with a stoic expression.
There was one last game, and everyone was either too injured or weak to continue. Chishiya was the only one that was able to go, so he volunteered.
Climbing up the building stairs, he got to the roof. He swung the door open to see a white open garden house and white rose bushes surrounding the area. He saw some colored balls and some other targets, and came to a conclusion.
"Croquet?"
"You are correct! Now- Chishiya?" The bubbly voice had switched to one of shock, and Chishiya looked up too, seeming unfazed.
"Y/N? I did think you would be one of the face card games"
Y/N stood before him in a long black dress with white accents, holding her mallet.
"How did you-"
"10 of Hearts. During the game I couldn't see you anywhere, I couldn't even detect you on the CCTV. You must've hidden during the entire game, no? Just like Mira"
Y/N suspected he would know. He was Chishiya Shuntaro after all.
"You shouldn't be here. You have five minutes to leave before the game starts."
"Why? You think i'm going to lose?" Chishiya asked in a deadly calm tone.
"It's either you die or I die, I wish for neither."
"Someone has to win to get out of here, Y/N. Clearly you should have thought of that before choosing to be a face card, right? One.. and two. One of us dies, and it's our choice." He pointed out.
'The game has begun'
Y/N didn't want to play the game with Chishiya. It wasn't because she didn't want him to die- he'd easily be the one to survive, but that was the thing.
Either one of them was going to die, and Y/N knew it would be herself.
"All you have to do is play three rounds of croquet with me" She returned to her cheery nature, grinning at him in an unsettling way.
Chishiya grabbed a mallet without a word, beginning since Y/N had given him a chance of going first. The male had never held a mallet before, yet he managed to hit all holes and goals in the first round.
"My turn~!" Y/N sang to hide her nervousness, winning the first round along with him. They both won the second round, and the time Y/N feared had come.
She stifled a fake yawn, leaning on her mallet. "Ah, I'm tired. Why don't we sit first? Have a cup of tea?" She gestured to the table in the open garden house. Chishiya's eyes drifted to the table with an incredulous look on his face, but he went towards it without a word.
She sat as well, pouring him a cup of tea.
"Cut to the chase, L/N. If I play this game, do we get to leave? How were we even brought here?"
She sipped her tea peeking at him to see he was staring, not even touching his tea.
"This is all a simulation"
"What?"
"You are merely nothing but robots. We're testing the IQ and EQ of the robots we made, and you are one of them. You just don't realize, because we inserted a microchip into your brain that tells you that you are human, and it programs you by default. You won't know you're a robot, you'll think you're perfectly human."
"You aren't serious are you?" He asked, unsure.
She laughed, pouring herself another cup. "I was kidding. What I really meant was that I am your psychiatrist. You got called in to my office since you kept hallucinating about that kid you weren't able to give the donor to. I've been giving you medication, but the effects is that you are imagining you are in this world, when really none of this is happening."
He was silent, not knowing what to say as he glanced at his unfinished cup of tea.
Yet again she was laughing, finishing her cup of tea. "Oh goodness, it was all a joke. Don't worry Chishiya, you haven't gone insane."
He gave her a sour look, getting up. "I'm not falling for your tricks. Let's play the final round and end all of this."
Y/N felt a tremble in her heart as she slowly got up to oblige. She knew he wouldn't fall for any of it, and the last time she would see him would be this very moment. She knew it was either her or him, and all she wanted was to extend her last moments with him a few minutes longer. She took her mallet and paid extra attention to him as she watched him play, remembering this would be the last time she could ever be with him.
His round finished and she went forward with her mallet, going as slow as she could. When she was going to make her last move, she paused.
"I have something else to tell you" She spoke up, and she glanced up to see his bored trance staring at the ground. He sighed in frustration hands still tucked in his pockets. "Look, just give up already. I'm going to win, so there's no point in trying to lie to m-"
"Did you know that I love you, Chishiya Shuntaro?"
His head shot up at her sudden confession, searching her eyes to see if she was lying. She smiled sadly as she walked towards him, he didn't move away which relieved her.
"When I first met you at the beach, I didn't think about you as anything more than someone I had to stop from winning games. Then when I got closer to you, I couldn't help it. When I was first asked to be the Queen of Hearts I agreed, I had nothing to do with my life anyways. But then I met you.." She laughs painfully. "It's a pity now that I can't stay with the person that helped me find my purpose.. just because I made a stupid decision."
He looked at her eyes, and she noticed how his expression softened. "You changed my view.. of people." He began. "Before you came, I didn't care anymore. After my patient couldn't get his donor.. I decided that the only life I should care about was mine, because either way people die and getting attached just makes it worse. Then.. you. Because of you, I cherish people. Kuina, Arisu, Usagi.. even you."
She looked up in surprise, searching his eyes to see if he was playing around but he wasn't.
She chuckled softly, caressing his cheek as tears brimmed in her eyes. She didn't want to ever let go of this moment, but she knew that the games had to end. "May I..?" He asked softly, and her eyebrows knit in confusion. "What are you doing?"
"Asking for permission to kiss you."
She nodded slowly, and it felt euphoric as he leaned in to kiss her. It was soft and gentle, as if he was scared that he wouldn't be able to pull away from her. He pulled away and she felt her lips tingling, making her smile sadly.
"I guess it's time."
She went back in position and hit the ball, letting it go into the last hoop. Chishiya didn't show any emotion as she looked at him once more, smiling brightly. It didn't seem sad, it seemed carefree and genuine.
"Thank you for playing with me, Chishiya Shuntaro."
He flinched slightly as the laser went through her head, and he caught her before she hit the ground. He could hear fireworks in the distance, but all he could think about was her final words to him. He caressed her now cold and pale face, the ghost of a smile still etched on it as a small tear dripped from the side of her face.
He stood up, picking a fresh white rose from one of the bushes and took her hand, wrapping it around the stem as he kissed her forehead.
He wanted to believe that he just kissed her as a parting gift, so that she could die peacefully without having to endure any pain before she met with death; but he knew deep down that he too had loved her, and only just realized. He knew that he too had slowly fallen for her back at the hotel but he hadn't said anything, fearing he would be attached.
He knew that her last moments spent with him were short, but it was just enough for him. It was enough for the both of them to share their love for one another.
He held her close to his chest, closing his eyes and inhaling her scent for probably the last time ever. He knew that somehow, if they return to the true world, he would forget her.
He didn't care because he knew that eventually- even if just a bit- she was a lost memory waiting to be found.
He knew he'd find that memory somehow, and fall in love with her all over again.
Author's note: I'm so sorry I took so long to finish this request! I had writer's block and I'm glad it's gone again :') Anyways I ran out of idea halfway through the story, but I hope the story is still enjoyable and that it still makes sense. <33

Banda x GN!Reader
Genre: ?? (TW: Banda is a TW in itself, idk) ?? Basically Banda being your stalker in the real world, and you meet him again in one of your games [REQUESTED]
["I always feel like, somebody's watching me."]
Unsettled.
They didn't know why they felt that way almost all the time, but it sent goose bumps up their skin- the hair on their skin standing. No matter where they went, they felt as if there was somebody staring at them, but every time they whipped their head around as if to catch the culprit, there was no one there.
Once, they got home to see their living room lights open and their eyebrows knit together in confusion. They knew for sure they switched all the lights off before they left. They went to the kitchen, seeing their honey scented lip balm lying on the floor.
"Strange, i thought I lost this."
<><><>
The unsettling feeling left for a while since they joined the games, but yet again they felt as if it was back.
"You seem nervous"
Chishiya's voice brought them back to their senses. They were walking into a prison for a Jack of Hearts game, and they just realized they were zoned out while walking.
"I'm not nervous"
"Your nibbling your bottom lip, and your eyes are unmoving and staring at nothing as we walk. You're toying with the hem of your shirt and you keep exhaling deeply every few seconds. You're usually only this ay when you're nervous. So tell me what's wrong"
Screw Cheese Boy and his attentiveness.
Fortunately Chishiya left them alone as they got into the room and put a collar on, Y/N copying his movements.
They felt unnerved again, but this time felt stronger than before. They glanced around the room until they noticed one of the people already staring.
A male with kempt hair and a slightly wrinkled light navy polo with a few buttons undone revealing a white shirt stared at them intently. They noticed how much he reminded them of Chishiya- the slightly raised eyebrows and a smirk on his features. Yet his smirk felt different.
It's as if he recognized you, and his smirk only displayed how pleased he was to be in the same room as you.
Unsettling.
<><><>
"Y/N"
They were picking out snacks when they heard their name called. Thinking it was Chishiya they turned around, only to be surprised seeing it was the same male from earlier.
Since when did they introduce themselves?
"How.. how the heck do you know my name?" Y/N retaliated, and the male took a few steps forward, causing Y/N to step back. They felt the shelves behind them, and before they could move the male had placed his hands on either side of their head so they couldn't escape. His hand drifting down their side before reaching Y/N's pockets, pulling out the honey scented lip balm.
"You know, I missed this. I shouldn't have left it behind when you almost caught me in our house." He chuckled. Y/N's eyes widened.
"Since when did you have keys to my house?!"
"Not my fault you keep it on the fire extinguisher case next to your door, princess. It was so easy to see, like you were practically begging me to come inside your home."
Y/N felt as if there were bugs crawling on her skin. The male only laughed in triumph, opening the lip balm and putting some on Y/N's lips before his own, then storing it back in their bag.
So he was the guy watching them. He probably knew everything about them now, since Y/N already felt this way  a few months before the games.
"You creep!" Y/N hissed, pushing him in the chest so he backs away.
He glances Y/N up and down before shaking his head in amusement, turning to leave.
"My name's Banda Sunato, darling" he winked, before disappearing down the corridor.
Guess this game is going to be pretty eventful.
Author's note: Hello requester-san! I hope you liked this. I love Banda sm but idk how to write him :') Sorry if this didn't come out the way you wanted it to! Idk if u wanted this to be romantic/platonic so I improvised instead. Anw, have a great rest of your day everyone! <3

Chishiya x GN!Reader
Genre: Angst (TW: Death, mentions of being stabbed by a glass shard, possibly rushed oneshot) Romantic In which Chishiya makes it out of the borderlands and remembers everything, including losing you.
["Lights are on But nobody's home"]
"Game complete"
The last thing Chishiya remembered was laying slouched against a car holding his bleeding side, then fireworks, then nothing.
The next thing he hears after being completely knocked out is the beeping of what he knows is a heart monitor. He opens his eyes slowly to see a doctor standing beside someone he couldn't make out yet, since his eyesight was adjusting to the lights; and he could slowly hear the doctors voice increase to more than just something muffled.
"..for a minute your heart stopped, as well as the person beside you. It's a miracle you're alive, you both were in the border between life and death."
Border. Life and death.
Chishiya's head turned to the side after the doctor left, coming face to face with a male with long black hair up to his shoulders. His eyebrows knit together in confusion. He felt like he knew who this was, but couldn't put a finger to it.
"Seriously? Out of all people, I have to be next to you?" The male mumbled, and Chishiya instantly recognized the sharp tone.
"Niragi?"
"Yeah, who else? Did you want it to be Y/N?"
Y/N?
Chishiya stared at the ceiling. Y/N? Who was that? Why did he feel a tug at his heart, hearing their name?
"That look on your face tells me you don't remember who they are." Niragi spoke up again, and Chishiya turned to him.
"You know, you guys were incredibly soppy. After that King of Spades game, you wouldn't let go of them, begging them to hold on because it was almost over. I never imagined you'd be capable to cry over someone" Niragi snickers
Then it hits Chishiya.
They were in the borderlands fighting the King of Spades, and Y/N had helped Arisu lead the King to the pharmacy, where they blew him up. He also remembered seeing Y/N tumble into the gravel, a glass shard protruding from their chest. He remembered holding them close, begging them to hold on a little while longer, because everything was going to be just fine.
He sat up suddenly, ripping the IV cords off himself and heading out ignoring Niragi's protests. He quickly walked down the hall, searching for the main desk.
He needed to see them, to make sure they made it.
"Excuse me, was there a patient named Y/N L/N here?" He asks urgently, and the nurse goes through the file. "Room 603-" Chishiya interrupted with a quick 'thank you' before hurrying off, not wanting to waste a single second.
Room 600, Room 601, Room 602-
"Y/N!" He burst into the room only to freeze in the doorway to see Kuina holding into their pale hand, tears in her eyes. He gave her a questioning look, and she shook her head slowly.
No.
"Chishiya.. they got them here safely, but they lost a lot of blood due to the glass in their chest. They were able to last through the week, but they were too weak today." She explained
Please no.
He went up to them, holding their hand. It felt cold and limp against his skin, and he held their hand to his cheek as he gazed at their peaceful figure.
One whole week. They were here one whole week, and he missed it.

He got discharged and headed home seeing his lights were still on exactly how he'd left it during the borderlands. He remembered taking Y/N here, how they'd hugged out the possible last few minutes of the games away. How they'd finally confessed their love for one another, after so long.
"Chishiya, what if I told you I loved you?" He glanced at Y/N, caressing their cheek, a small smile on his face. "What if I told you I felt the same?"
He wished he could've told them a little earlier, if only he hadn't wasted precious time secretly admiring Y/N.
If he did, would they be together? Would Y/N still be on the couch lazing with a book and hot cocoa, greeting Chishiya with a hug and a 'welcome back'?
Chishiya was home but it felt empty.
Empty, because they were no longer there.
