THE FINAL GAMBIT REVIEW

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 on storygraph, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ on goodreads (see below for reasoning - NO SPOILERS UNTIL KEEP READING LINE)

I really really enjoyed this one! The whole series has been amazing and I've loved going through all the twists and turns with Avery. The Hawthorne Brothers with always have a special place in my heart, that's for sure. Would definitelly recommend!

I was sad about Toby having to become a "Blake" but I suppose this was a way to show he was serving a penance or something??

My favourite quote from the books is probably from Jameson Winchester Hawthorne:

"Secrets upon secrets. Riddles upon riddles"

I feel like it's a very good summary of the books and when other parts of the plot were unravelling I was just sat there thinking about how this quote really does fit with the series.

I also love Avery Kylie Grambs as a character. She is so intelligent and is a queen. Her and Jameson are everything. Tobias Hawthorne's very risky gamble indeed.

The only reason I rated it a little below 5 ⭐️ on storygraph was because I felt like at some points I got a little lost as it was a little repetitive, so I loet engagement. However. on goodreads it does not allow for decimal ratings and it was DEFINITELY not 4 ⭐️ so I ended up going for 5 :D

although i support averygrayson shippers, i will never understand. in my opinion (and i might be wrong), i think averygrayson shippers are projecting when they say grayson is the better option. i mean, if we look at avery and her needs, jameson is clearly the better fit. she's lived in the same small town her entire life. having now inherited billions, she wants to take risks and explore the world. grayson doesn't want those things. he wants stability. they wouldn't work out and their personalities would clash. jamie on the other hand would give avery what she wants and needs. grayson wouldn't be able to make avery happy in the long run. just bc grayson is your favorite and would be your prefered love interest doesn't mean he's the best love interest for avery. just my opinion though, you can ship whoever you want (i would explain this in better words if i wasn’t tired but eh).
