Your hands,
Crushed my wrists.
Your palms,
Left marks on my face.
Your words,
Are still in the back of my head.
The bruises you left may have faded away,
But the memories never will.

You took my darkness,
And turned it into light.
You,
Are my lighthouse.

You came into my life,
And I was happy again.
And for the brief moments you held me.
All I remember feeling is,
Safe.

It’s not that I miss you. It’s not that I want you back. It’s that I miss feeling whole. I miss feeling happy. I miss being excited to wake up and talk to someone who made me so happy it radiated off of me. I miss laughing on the phone. I miss late night drives listening to music. I miss being held. I miss feeling sure about myself. I miss being someone’s favorite person.

You see the thing is,
You’re okay.
While I, I’m falling apart as if I was never even whole.
