@griefbled ━━   when she pictures growing up and working a real job, this isn't quite what asa has in mind. going to work alongside others was never going to be easy, that much is true, but giyu seems to have no interest in easing her into the rhythm of the public safety machine. they're just two cogs in a great industry of young people giving up life & limb for a less than one percent impact on the devil attack death rate statistic. normally she's not so pessimistic, but one does take on aspects of the company they keep. he mostly seems disinterest about their teamwork. or maybe she just can't read him well enough yet. that's a possibility too. yoru is no help at all, unsurprisingly. the war devil speaks in outlandish schemes and tall orders exclusively these days.

she's alone. surrounded on all fronts, sole target of their common distrust. the scent of rotting fish is still lingers in the air, a salty kind of miasma that makes her nauseous. she's never had a reason to come to the ocean in wintertime before, until some kind of slimy devil needed dispatching. it's quite scenic. very quiet though, save for the howling ocean breeze. the clean up is a silent affair, save for a few grunts on points of impact. they got off easy today. that's something, at least. wet sand lines the hems of their standard issue public safety slacks, weird gooey residue sticking to the soles of her shoes. are you really worried about your uniform, right now? asa glares at her mirror image in the water surface, just as a wave breaks. i'd rather not think about anything worse. some concerns are more bearable than others, she's found. a uniform is enough to keep her occupied.
