Can of Worms Time;
Say you were editor of The Nightwing and BOP books and there’s fan demand for Dick and Babs to finally tie the knot.
How would you pull it off?
Well I wouldn't do it by having Dick feel pressured to propose to a woman he's not actually actively in a relationship with anymore because he thinks he's going to die and wants to get it off his chest before he runs off, gets hit by a massive energy beam during a multiversal invasion event, and ends up in a coma, that's for sure.
No I'm not bitter about Infinite Crisis and Devin Grayson's continual misunderstanding of Dick and the Dick/Babs relationship, why do you ask?
More seriously, let's play this out with post-Crisis!Dick/Babs but sprinkle in the occasional piece of post-Flashpoint stuff (aka, we're talking Nightwing and Oracle, competent and independent adult heroes who both actively lead their own teams, have their own friend groups, have had serious previous love interests, and have their own responsibilities outside of a relationship with each other).
Realistically, the actual proposal would likely be pretty quiet. Dick and Babs are both pretty private people when it comes to their relationship and they both know what a Production™ their family and friends would cause if they knew there were plans (I'm thinking about Dinah and Tim specifically here, but everyone involved would be guilty). I think they'd wait a few days before letting everyone know.
My running gag during the wedding prep era would be that every time they're trying to plan an aspect of the wedding, they keep getting called out to go deal with superhero stuff. This would obviously usually be within the context of whatever a-plot they're dealing with in their individual books, but also just...littering references here and there about other stuff happening in the background.
Trying to book a caterer? Whoops, all-hands-on-deck alien invasion. Talking about flowers? Gotham's had another Arkham breakout. Trying to get to a dress fitting? Oh no, the Birds need help breaking into a high-security prison in Bialya. Scheduling their mandatory pre-marital counseling sessions? Oops, the Titans need help dealing with some major universe-ending threat. Nothing that actually puts a strain on Dick and Babs' relationship, but something that's just exasperating enough to be plausible for two characters who are traditionally DCU linchpin characters with a lot of responsibilities and funny enough for readers to not get tired of it.
I think it would also be fun to have a Nightwing issue focused on Dick running around Bludhaven dealing with petty crime while trying to figure out who his best man is going to be. Should it be Wally, who's been the best man at all of his previous weddings/wedding attempts? Should it be Roy, who's stuck by him again and again and (Dick thinks) should get a chance to actually be in a wedding party that's not his dad's for once? Should it be Tim, the sibling he's closest to? Should it be Donna, who he walked down the aisle at her own wedding? He has so many choices, all of which would be good choices for different reasons and none of whom would be particularly offended by him picking someone else. He picks Wally in the end, because why mess with what works, and asks the others+Garth and Damian to be groomsmen (yes, Donna's at the altar with him too).
At some point, Babs just appoints Dinah as her Maid/Matron of Honor and lets her run her entire wedding prep process for her. Babs might be a control freak, but this is one area where she's largely happy to let someone else take care of the minutia. She grabs the rest of the BOP Core Four+Cass, Steph, and Alysia as her bridesmaids, picks out her dress, and calls it a day.
As for the wedding itself, I want two things out of it: one, someone important (not Dick or Babs, so maybe Wally or one of the Bats?) nearly doesn't make it to the venue because of a massive superhero conflict, and two, the actual wedding goes off without a hitch. I'm very determined that the actual wedding will not be interrupted or otherwise ruined in any way after the disaster that was Dick/Kory's attempted wedding and the pre-wedding trials I just talked about. So they get their wedding, they go on a honeymoon somewhere, and they TURN OFF THEIR COMMS for a week. The honeymoon period is for enjoyment, not distractions; they've both had enough of those.
Publishing/IRL time-wise, the proposal would happen in a Nightwing issue, I'd let the engagement era happen over a year or so (so 12 issues for both the Nightwing and BOP books, exploring the process from both their POVs) and then have their wedding in a crossover issue. So...yeah, that's how I'd pull off a Dick/Babs engagement and wedding in the context of Dick and Babs both having their own books.

Message to all allies and friends on the NDFP’s 50th anniversary
CPP Central Committee | Communist Party of the Philippines
Tumblr media
April 24, 2023 | In behalf of the entire membership of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), as well as all Red fighters and commanders of the New People’s Army (NPA), the Central Committee of the CPP extends militant revolutionary greetings to all its allies and friends in the National Democratic Front of the Philippines on the historic and most joyous occasion of the NDFP’s 50th anniversary.
We propose to the National Council that the NDFP and its allied organizations carry the following theme during this entire year of celebration:
Strengthen the NDFP! Unite the Filipino people to fight for Philippine sovereignty amid heightening foreign intervention and rising threats of imperialist war! Carry out militant struggles to fight for the people’s national and democratic interests against the US-Marcos fascist regime! Carry forward the national democratic revolution to victory!
On this occasion, let us remember and pay tribute to all the heroes and martyrs of the Philippine revolution. Let us give special honors to Comrades Jose Ma. Sison, Benito Tiamzon, Wilma Austria, Fidel V. Agcaoili, Antonio Zumel, Julius Giron, as well as other key leaders of the Party and the NDFP, as well as peace consultants who passed away or were killed by the reactionary state terrorists. Let us express our gratitude to the countless allies of the NDFP who continue to serve the national democratic revolution.
There is urgent need to strengthen and further invigorate the NDFP as the Filipino people face a worsening crisis of the ruling system and growing threats of getting caught in the vortex of imperialist wars, with the Marcos regime and the AFP being used by the US in its war provocations, while remaining spineless against Chinese aggression.
In the coming period, the NDFP must carry out widespread efforts to promote the people’s patriotic spirit, and unite, galvanize and mobilize the broadest section of the people to defend the country against rising imperialist rivalries and threats of wars. Amid intensifying US imperialist military intervention and worsening forms of oppression and exploitation under the neoliberal policy regime, the NDFP must exert all efforts to more vigorously advance the national democratic revolution and the cause of national freedom and democracy.
The CPP and the NDFP
On the initiative of the Party, the NDFP was formed on April 24, 1973, less than a year after the declaration of martial law by the US-Marcos fascist dictatorship. On that day, the NDFP Preparatory Commission issued the Manifesto “Unite to Overthrow the US-Marcos Dictatorship” which included its 10-point program. Since then, the Filipino people have possessed three powerful weapons: the Party, the NPA and the NDFP.
During the entire course of the anti-dictatorship struggle, the NDFP and its program served as one of the most powerful beacons that guided the broad masses of the people in their march against the fascist regime and in their overall revolutionary resistance. Through the NDFP, a wide underground network of national democratic forces was built which served as solid core of the broad mass struggles against the dictatorship.
The manifesto and 10-point program of the NDFP quickly gained traction among the broad sections of the Filipino people and galvanized them to get organized and take action against the fascist regime. The NDFP initially brought together a number of organizations of youth and students, women, peasants and other classes and sectors which were forced to go underground with the imposition of open fascist rule. Since 1973, the NDFP steadily expanded and is now composed of 18 underground organizations, namely: Communist Party of the Philippines, New People’s Army, Revolutionary Council of Trade Unions, Katipunan ng mga Samahang Manggagawa, Pambansang Katipunan ng mga Magbubukid, Makabayang Kilusan ng Bagong Kababaihan, Kabataang Makabayan, Katipunan ng mga Gurong Makabayan, Makabayang Samahang Pangkalusugan, Liga ng Agham para sa Bayan, Lupon ng Mananaggol para sa Bayan, Artista at Manunulat para sa Sambayanan, Makabayang Kawaning Pilipino, Compatriots – Revolutionary Organization of Overseas Filipinos and their Families, Christians for National Liberation, Cordillera People’s Democratic Front, Moro Resistance and Liberation Organization, and Revolutionary Organization of Lumads.
The NDFP is the most consolidated united front organization of the Filipino people. It binds together all the progressive classes and sectors in support of the people’s democratic revolution through protracted people’s war. It is the political center of gravity of the various levels and forms of united front organization against imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism.
In the course of waging protracted people’s war, organs of political power at village or inter-village levels, as well as at municipal and inter-municipal and even district levels, have been built based on the organized strength of revolutionary mass organizations, the local Party organizations and armed strength of the New People’s Army. These perform state functions including implementing land reform policies and programs, dispensing justice and resolving contradictions among the people, conducting education and health services. These organize and mobilize the people to wage widespread armed resistance against the reactionary state.
Taken together, all these comprise the embryo of the future People’s Democratic Government of the Philippines, a united front of all progressive and patriotic classes based on the basic alliance of workers and peasants, and under the leadership of the proletariat. Until it is established on a nationwide scale, the PDG is represented by the NDFP.
Representing the PDG, the NDFP has established political, economic, military and proto-diplomatic relations with other entities. It has actively promoted international solidarity among anti-imperialist forces. Directly or indirectly, the NDFP has received quasi-state recognition by other governments or international entities.
Presently, two governments exists in the Philippine countryside: the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and the PDG represented by the NDFP. The PDG is Red and revolutionary; while the GRP is White and reactionary. Both sides are belligerents in the civil war of the past 54 years.
The NDFP has been conducting peace negotiations with the GRP since 1987. It has firmly and excellently represented the national and democratic interests of the Filipino people, and frustrated the GRP’s scheme to use peace negotiations as an instrument of deception and pacification. The negotiations have produced important agreements, foremost of which is the Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHRIHL). The NDFP has clearly demonstrated its dedication to addressing the socioeconomic and political roots of the civil war, and in doing so, has drawn the support of broad segments of society to the cause of just and lasting peace.
Relevance and urgency of the NDFP’s 12-point program
The 12-point program of the NDFP is a systematic expression of the Filipino people’s collective aspiration for national freedom and democracy. It is the most superior of all programs of political parties and organizations in the Philippines.
The NDFP program is the anti-thesis of the neoliberal, anti-Filipino and anti-democratic policies and programs of the ruling Marcos fascist and puppet regime, as well as all previous regimes whether pseudo-democratic or tyrannical. It represents the interests of workers, peasants and all other exploited and oppressed classes of Philippine society as well as all progressive and patriotic forces, which are diametrically opposed to the interests of US imperialism, and the local ruling classes of big bourgeois compradors and big landlords.
The sharpening crisis of the ruling semicolonial and semifeudal system underscores the relevance and urgency of implementing the NDFP’s 12-point program. Fifty years or so since the NDFP’s program was drawn up, the semicolonial and semifeudal conditions in the Philippines remain qualitatively unchanged. It has only worsened quantitatively, with the Filipino people suffering from conditions of oppression and exploitation far worse than ever before.
In the countryside, the problem of landlessness has become even more acute in the face of various forms of land grabbing and land dispossession by new and old type landlords, big bourgeois compradors and multinational corporations in mining, plantations, infrastructure, real estate, and so on. All over the country, the broad masses experience increasingly intolerable socioeconomic conditions amid low wages, loss of income, skyrocketing prices of fuel, food and basic commodities, joblessness, and dispossession. The ruling reactionary state has resorted to more brutal fascist measures to suppress the people’s resistance and preserve the ruling system.
Amid their gross economic conditions and political repression, the Filipino people are continually being drawn to the 12-Point Program of the NDFP as the most viable and direct solution to their pressing problems. The demand for genuine land reform and national industrialization is even more urgent in the face of the widespread destruction of productive forces in both cities and rural areas. The demand for a comprehensive and progressive social program is even more relevant amid the aggravation of the crisis of public health and public education. Every other item in the NDFP program is in sharp contrast to the dark facets of the ruling system.
The prospect of establishing a new country where people enjoy genuine freedom and true democracy, and where they themselves benefit from the fruits of their labor, infuses them with revolutionary fervor and optimism and invigorates them to wage revolution.
The NDFP’s program is a general reflection of the program for a people’s democratic revolution of the Communist Party of the Philippine. In pursuing the Filipino people’s struggle for genuine national freedom, the NDFP’s 12-point program is historically linked to the old democratic revolutionary program of the Katipunan. It serves to complete the bourgeois democratic revolution, and thus, create the conditions to carry forward socialist revolution and construction.
Current burning issues of the day under the Marcosfascist and puppet regime
The de facto Marcos fascist and puppet regime is currently the most concentrated expression of the rotten semicolonial and semifeudal ruling system. It embodies the interests of US imperialism and that of the ruling exploiting classes; more specifically, that of the Marcos-Duterte ruling clique. Amid the crisis of the ruling system, the ruling Marcos-Duterte clique has become obsessed with monopolizing economic and political power, causing its isolation from the people, and generating rifts and rivalries within.
The current US-Marcos regime is causing the further aggravation of the economic and political crisis of the ruling system. Its anti-national and anti-democratic policies are most clearly demonstrated in the following four key issues:
(a) Heightening US military intervention in the Philippines. This is marked by US plans to build at least four more military bases and facilities under the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA). This is in addition to the already existing five military bases and facilities where the US prepositions weapons and stations American troops in the Philippines. The new military bases will be part of US plans to build a $27.1 billion network of missile stations in the so-called “First Island Chain” of countries nearest China. This also forms part of continuing war provocations against China, centered on undermining the One China Policy and stoking calls for Taiwan Independence.
At the same time, the US is intensifying its counterrevolutionary war in the Philippines for suppressing the national democratic revolution by supplying weapons, funding and supporting the AFP’s counterinsurgency operations. The vain hope of the US imperialists is to crush the revolutionary armed struggle so that it can fully utilize or maximize its puppet armed forces in a possible armed confrontation with its imperialist rival China.
(b) Intensifying fascist suppression and state terrorism under the US-directed counterinsurgency operations. There is rampant violations of human rights and international humanitarian law by the AFP and Philippine National Police (PNP), including hamletting of communities, food blockades, indiscriminate firing of weapons, aerial and artillery bombing, extrajudicial killings, abductions, unlawful and unjust arrests, torture and other brutalities against civilians or non-combatants.
(c) Increasingly aggressive push for neoliberal policies and measures which worsen mass poverty and aggravate the socio-economic conditions of the people. These policies subject people to more severe forms of oppression and exploitation. The heightened drive to expand the operations of multinational corporations are causing widespread dispossession of peasants and fisherfolk, economic dislocation and destruction of productive forces. These further deepen the backward, agrarian and pre-industrial state of the Philippine economy, resulting in acute unemployment, low wages amid high prices, dependence on imports and foreign borrowing; and so on
(d) Deepening crisis of the ruling political system. In the rush to maximize bureaucratic privilege, the ruling Marcos-Duterte clique are aggressively pushing efforts to monopolize political and economic power. The plan to amend the 1987 constitution clearly falls into the schemes to do away with provisions restricting powers to impose martial law and perpetuate the ruling clique in power. These machinations deepen rifts and rivalries among various cliques of the ruling classes. At the same time, conflicts between the Marcos and Duterte camps are also deepening as they rival over control of bureaucrat capitalist loot including control of the military, police and other key government agencies, pocketing bribes from government contracts, collection of protection money from smuggling and drug trafficking, and so on.
These issues underscore the moribund state of the ruling semicolonial and semifeudal system. Any of these or a combination of two or more factors can form the fulcrum of a sharp turn in the economic and political crisis, which in turn can stir the broad masses of the people and heighten their democratic and militant mass movement.
The explosive and destructive potency of these issues are also heightened by the context of the continuing crisis of the international capitalist system, and growing prospects of another round of financial crisis, recessions and economic depression. Across the world, a surge in mass demonstrations is steadily developing in both the capitalist centers and in less developed semicolonial countries as oppressed and exploited classes resist worsening policies and imperialist wars.
The role of the NDFP in the developing revolutionary surge
The Communist Party of the Philippines continues to lead the Filipino people in waging national democratic revolution through protracted people’s war. It is gratified to have as its allies the organizations and members affiliated with the NDFP.
Amid the sharp deterioration of the ruling system, rising inter-imperialist rivalries and increasing possibility of inter-imperialist war, the Party sees a forthcoming period of surge in the revolutionary armed struggle, mass movement in both the cities and countryside, and building the NDFP and other united front organizations. There are bright prospects for the revolutionary forces to achieve unprecedented strength in the coming period of growth.
The New People’s Army is more than ever determined to carry out protracted people’s war in the countryside. It has preserved and persevered along the path of revolutionary armed struggle, and continues to wage extensive and intensive guerrilla warfare on an ever widening and deepening mass base.
The revolutionary mass movement is bound to surge forward in the coming months and years. After a period of militarist lockdown during the pandemic, there is now a conspicuous rise in the level of economic and political struggles of various sectors. There is the increasing tempo of workers’ strikes and mass actions to demand higher wages, oppose gross working conditions and fight contractualization and other oppressive flexible labor schemes. The clamor to end agricultural liberalization and other oppressive neoliberal policies that cause land dispossesion, rural bankruptcy and economic dislocation continue to unite and rouse peasant mass struggles alongside their demand for genuine land reform. The struggle against dams and other infrastructure projects, expansion of mining and plantation operations across the different regions continue to intensify. The broad masses of fisherfolk are coming together to resist destructive reclamation plans, and underwater mining by big foreign companies that cause their economic dislocation. The recent strike of jeepney and public utility drivers highlight how the semiproletarian masses are resisting oppressive socioeconomic policies and programs that take away their livelihood. The militant and patriotic students and youth movement is bound to rise amid rising costs of education and state abandonment, as well as against heightened imperialist intervention.
Political repression and violations of civil and political rights continue to incite the people’s outrage, condemnation and resistance. The responsibility of the US imperialists behind the war of suppression is being thoroughly exposed. The Filipino people’s anger continue to rise against foreign plunder and destruction of the environment and people’s livelihood by multinationals and its local agents, and against widespread corruption by big bureaucrat capitalists led by the Marcos-Duterte clique.
The NDFP and all its allied organizations must serve as the core of all-out efforts to unite, organize and rally all revolutionary, progressive and positive forces to build the broadest united front against US-Marcos regime as the most concentrated expression of all the social evils being suffered by the Filipino people, and to advance the people’s war for national and social liberation.
We urge the NDFP and its allied organizations and other affiliates to carry out the following tasks, campaigns, struggles and activities in the coming year, with the aim of broadening and strengthening the anti-fascist, anti-imperialist and antifeudal united front:
a) Build the broadest alliance against the US-Marcos fascist regime. Expose and oppose Marcos’ subservience to foreign economic interests. Expose, oppose and isolate the ruling Marcos-Duterte clique in its schemes to monopolize economic and political power. Expose the corruption of the ruling clique, including the machinations to recover the Marcos dynasty’s ill-gotten wealth, diverting public funds to big bourgeois operations, smuggling behind the facade of import liberalization, and other schemes.
b) Wage a campaign to expose and demand the dismantling of US military bases in the Philippines, the withdrawal of US troops, an end to US military intervention and war exercises, war provocations against China and funding of brutal counterinsurgency operations that violate the principle of non-interference. Call for the abrogation of the EDCA, the Visiting Forces Agreement, the Mutual Defense Treaty and all other unequal military treaties with the US. Demand the dismantling of Chinese military facilities and withdrawal of military forces, and a stop to the plunder of Philippine marine resources.
c) Generate widespread support for the economic struggles against neoliberal policies of liberalization, deregulation and privatization, especially for the workers’ demand for wage increases. Draw broad support for the struggles for genuine land reform in the countryside, and against the entry of mining companies, expansion of plantations, ecotourism, dams and energy projects, and other programs that destroy the environment and people’s livelihood. Oppose the imposition of onerous taxes and burdensome foreign debt payments.
d) Build a broad anti-fascist united front. Expose widespread state terrorism, violations of human rights and attacks against civilians and civilian communities in violation of international humanitarian law, especially violation of women and child rights. Demand a stop to indiscriminate and disproportionate use of aerial bombing and artillery shelling which endangers the lives of civilians. Expose the link between rising fascist repression and the aggressive neoliberal push to pave the way for foreign companies to plunder the country’s resources, further pull down wages, grab land and dispossess the people.
e) Vigorously promote and carry out the NDFP’s 12-Point Program through all possible forms and venues—from the academe to the slums, the factories and workplaces to the countryside. Actively develop a mass education, propaganda and cultural movement to reach out to the broad masses in their millions. Raise the people’s knowledge and consciousness about the victories they have won in the past 54 years of revolutionary struggle, and the need to bring forward the national democratic revolution to fruition to end their sufferings.
f) Develop a vigorous organizing movement to achieve unprecedented expansion and growth of all NDFP allied organizations, and build new ones to represent other oppressed classes and sectors. Hold study meetings and special conferences and build their organizational structure. Produce new mass leaders capable of rousing the people in their numbers. Strengthen the revolutionary underground and ensure the formation of self-defense committees to secure all revolutionary forces.
g) Strengthen the NDFP as an alliance. Raise the consciousness of the membership of allied organizations by carrying out internal education about the NDFP, its history and its work. Develop coordination and cooperation among the NDFP’s allied organizations. Strengthen their links with the NDFP’s overseas office and support the work of the NDFP’s international representatives.
h) Generate widespread political and material support for the New People’s Army. Actively recruit Red fighters from among workers, students, women and other sectors. Mobilize self-defense units to extend material, political, and intelligence assistance to local people’s militia units and guerrilla units of the NPA.
i) Continue to promote and represent the People’s Democratic Government. Carry out an international campaign to promote the NDFP as representative of the Filipino people. Continue to gather international support for the Filipino people’s struggle for national and social liberation. Continue to build proto-diplomatic relations with countries and other international entities. Continue to promote the NDFP’s commitment to a just and lasting peace.
j) Help efforts in building and expanding anti-imperialist solidarity networks and alliances. Help build broad international alliances against imperialist wars. Extend solidarity support to the democratic mass struggles of workers, peasants and other toiling people, as well as revolutionary armed resistance in other countries.
The Central Committee of the CPP sees the NDFP playing a crucial role in the coming period of revolutionary resurgence. We are confident that all the NDFP’s forces will continue to exert all efforts to rouse the people and shoulder the difficult tasks in waging all forms of patriotic and democratic resistance, generating widespread support for the people’s war and carrying forward the national democratic revolution.
Long live the National Democratic Front of the Philippines!
Long live the New People’s Army!
Long live the Communist Party of the Philippines!
Long live the Filipino people!

What are some of your all time favorite charcters?
Oh, that's simple! I've never ranked them together before so this is gonna be fun.
BATMAN, Bruce Wayne from DCAU BTAS & JLU. Batman's core character was a man who cared so much about his city that he willingly dressed up as a bat to scare criminals off the streets because he would never want anyone to experience the horror he suffered as a child. This is the Batman who would sit next to Ace and hold her hand as she died. This is the Batman who would threaten the United States government if he thought it would save lives. This man is a freaking legend. (Not to be confused with the Batman of TNBA. Fuck that guy. He's a hollowed out shell of his former self and it makes no sense to me at all how BTAS Batman became JLU Batman and then TNBA Batman. The timelines don't add up at all.)
RED HOOD, Jason Todd from the DCAMU Under the Red Hood. I watched the movie before I read the comics, and I honestly prefer the movie ending over the comic book ending. It's what got me into reading the comics. He just fascinates me so much. Like, I love his ugliness and the way his story made me open my mind and think about the possibilities. Even now, I honestly want to sit down for a minute one of theses days and write a version of UTRH for BTAS. (It also honestly still confuses the hell out of me why Nightwing was there in the beginning and never came back for the end in the movie version. Like there wasn't a storyline going on in Bludhaven in the movies that would require him disappearing for the second half of the plot--just think of the possibilities!)
RED ROBIN, Tim Drake-Wayne from the Red Robin run. This man has an identity crisis every other issue, I swear, when he isn't falling to his death and thinking about how he only wishes he could see Conner again. The homoerotic subtext and subtle un-reciprocated romance has sold me on the Timkon. That's not to mention his most basic and fundamental trait: He exists as Batman's anchor. That's what his entire reason for becoming a hero is all about: keeping the Batman grounded and preventing him from becoming a violent maniac that needs to be put down. Because, deep down, Tim is intelligent. Yes, I do think he is a genius. Is he the smartest Robin? Dependson how you define intelligence. He's certainly not the most skilled and fundamentally he is kind of a loser, but he understands The Mission without being told, understands the "necessity" of Batman, doesn't need a tragic backstory to do what it takes to save a hero, and that makes him a hero in my book.
ROBIN V, Damian Wayne from the comics. It's hard to pin down exactly what storyline I like about Damian because I haven't read any good ones yet but my all time favorite panels are those with him and Jon Kent. Specifically, Damian telling Jon not to doubt himself because he was made for the purpose of becoming Superman--a sentiment Damian also shares. I didn't understand the character all that much before that, but I was sold. I literally look at every panel with him in it differently because of it. Damian is an "I am destined to be Batman. Everyone else needs to get over it" son of a gun, and I can totally get behind that attitude of "This is me, deal with it." He is my spirit animal, and him loving animals and being a piece of shit is just a bonus.
THE FLASH, Wally West from DCAU JLU. My all time favorite episode of the entire JL&JLU run was his. He set the bar for superheros for me and everyone else simply fails if they cannot reach that bar. I still remember the episode of Flash and Substance where The Flash asks Batman and Orion to make an appearance at the opening of the Flash Museum. My favorite all time scene was him sitting next to The Trickster and just talking to him to convince him to give up his enemies. They have such a good rep that The Trickster willingly agrees to turn himself into the police just for The Flash. That's such good writing. Now, in my mind, a superhero should help everyone, even their enemies.
SUPERBOY, Conner Kent from the Young Justice comics. I haven't read his solo run yet and it's in the queue but I'll get there eventually, but the tone of the Young Justice comics and his growth as a character throughout has rapidly made him my all time favorite YJ character. My absolute favorite part about him is the black and white morality he has and the conflict between him and Tim. Like, I understand in real life that black and white morality is a child's dream, but I like heroes who have lines they will absolutely not cross. (He's better than the YJTV version which feels like a blank slate and an over all bland character who should have run off and rebelled against his 'destiny' long ago.)
I was going to include my favorite characters from other franchises but my memory is shit if I'm not looking directly at the thing I want to talk about so I hope just the DC stuff is okay.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper Hecatoncheir Magicite Fight
Hecatoncheir is the 5-star earth Magicite boss in the Final Fantasy Record Keeper (FFRK) mobile game.
He takes reduced damage against magical and ninjutsu attacks and he’s weak to the wind element.
I decided to take a break from the Argent Odin or White Odin quest level 600 fight to try this one.
After all, 5-star Magicite fights should be way easier when compared to the Odin ones since they’re only quest level 400.
Besides, I also wanted to try building a physical wind team already. And, after getting my first Odin Magicite, wanted to test it out as well.
My team for the 5-star Hecatoncheir Magicite fight was:
Angeal Hewley from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Limit Break Overstrike (LBO), Unleashed Wrath
Synchro Arcane Soul Break (SASB), White-Winged SOLDIER
Awakened Arcane Soul Break 2 (AASB2), Burden of Pride
Tumblr media
Zack Fair from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VII
Chain Soul Break (CSB), Lucky Stars
SASB, Come Get It!
AASB2, Road to Heroism
Ultra Soul Break 2 (USB2), Lazy Mirage
Glint+ Soul Break 2 (G+2), Sonic Squat
Glint Soul Break (G), Storm Squat
Tumblr media
Vaan from Final Fantasy XII
CSB, Wind of Liberation
AASB2, Luminescence
USB3, Calamitous Orb
USB1, Cruelest Azure
Unique Soul Break, Windburst
Elarra from Final Fantasy Record Keeper
USB2, Magika Orare
USB1, Magika Album
G+, Magika Amuletum
G, Magika Pius
Tyro from Final Fantasy Record Keeper
AASB, Fantasy Grimoire Vol. I
Arcane Overstrike Soul Break 3 (AOSB3), Triple Phase
USB4, Arbiter’s Tome
USB3, Divine Veil Grimoire
USB1, Warder’s Apocrypha
G, Purifying Grimoire
Burst Soul Break (BSB), Keeper’s Tome
Unique Soul Break 2, Sentinel’s Grimoire
Legend Materia Relic 1 (LMR1), Archival Secrets
Tyro served as my support and Wrath and Entrust bot. He may not be the best physical support out there but he’s the only one I’ve got so have to make do with him.
Vaan was here for his Chain Soul Break, but he can help deal damage via his AASB.
Angeal acted as my secondary DPS. He can also provide a damage reduction barrier via his Sync.
On a side note, I love the animation for Angeal’s AASB2 because it features Genesis Rhapsodos from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.
Currently, Genesis is my absolute, most favorite Final Fantasy VII (#ad) char. He’s the reason why I’m playing Final Fantasy Record Keeper.

Elarra served as my healer. Her USB1 provides high quick cast and Regenga. Her USB2 increases the critical hit damage of the party.
This combos very well with Tyro’s USB4 and AASB, both of which can increase the party’s critical hit chance.
Ah, I really wish I had Elarra’s AASB. Then I could have brought her to the White Odin fight instead of Lenna Charlotte Tycoon from Final Fantasy V.
Lenna’s a perfectly serviceable healer, especially since I have all of her non-Lensable relics but she can’t sing to debuff enemies and she has nothing like Elarra’s USB2.
Zack was my main DPS. I even made his Hero Ability, Rush Assault. He did very well. They all did. Even my Level 50 Odin Magicite whose entry and follow-ups always broke the damage cap.
The fight didn’t take that long to end. It was a stark contrast to how long and difficult the Argent Odin battle was. This one was way too easy compared to that.
In fact, it was so easy that I tried to auto it. I dropped Tyro since Wrath and Entrust was useless for auto fights.
Replaced him with Zidane Tribal from Final Fantasy IX. I only have Zidane’s AASB, Reverse Gaia, though. But that was fine for this fight. With just a few tweaks, was able to get the auto up and running and got the win again in no time.
Conclusion
So what about you? Have you tried any of the 5-star Magicite fights yet? What do you think about these quests? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions by leaving a comment below or by reblogging or replying to this post.

The SOLDIER hums with excitement. His features radiant and warm. His eyes alight with a fervent glow as they worship the sight of her. Zack's cheeks are flush with heat. His heart pounds like a thundering drum in his chest while his arms cling to her lithe frame. There is no keeping his lips from hers after her declaration. His tongue teasingly passing between her lips with his next kiss returning the passionate display she had so shown him.
It is all so very new and exciting. He whirls her around in his arms ever so carefully, before gently placing her back on her feet. It is all Zack can do to remember how to breathe in the moment. Though he would gladly sacrifice the air in his lungs if it meant he could continue kissing her. If he were to drown then let it be on her lips. Such a goal was one worthy of a hero.
For all the wild things he had done in his life none of them had prepared him for this. It was exhilarating, the heady rush the moment gave him. Those azure orbs are fixated completely on her. In that moment, she is the only thing he sees.
How he wishes this moment would never end.
Tumblr media
He is finally able to break his lips away from hers, taking a deep breathe as he does. There is no missing the grin upon his face or the redness of his cheeks. It is so easy for him to get caught up and carried away with her as well. All his troubles and worries a distant memory when he is with her. Let her call him an enabler, but she is the childishness that the young man never got to experience.
She is love and passion in a world of chaos and order. A welcome shelter from the battles and missions. She is a possibility that the SOLDIER never dreamed of before. A potential for a future he never thought possible, and yet now that he holds her in his arms he cannot possibly understand how he ever saw his life without her.
"We could, but then we'd miss out on the adventure I had planned for us today."

It was another bright and sunny day at Costa Del Sol and Cissnei had every intention in the world to make the most out of her most recently gifted vacation. Well, by vacation, it’s more or less just a guard job for a certain SOLDIER. But she adored this particular target, and he gave her decent enough company. Wearing her beach clothes instead of the usual suit; a tan and a lay down on the warm sands was all she needed and the company she was going to have? The icing on top of an already sweet and warm cake.
Tumblr media
As she made her way down the steps to the beach, there she saw Zack running across the sands again, a light jog compared to the last time that she saw him doing his exercises. Once the redhead had stepped on the sand, she waited for Zack to come a bit closer before joining him for the run. She had an idea, and Cissnei was resolute on not failing. Mind him, After a few minutes of just running next to him and keeping quiet, she turned her head and smirked.
“Alright, Soldier Boy. Let’s make this run harder for you.” And with those teasing words, she jumped onto his back. Her legs wrapped around his hips and her arms wrapped around his shoulders holding on tight. “I hope you don’t mind, but I have no intentions of letting go unless you stop.”

An over-review and (many) theories of FFVII compilation - Part V
Part I: The Timeline - https://buffaloborgine.tumblr.com/post/624717906149818368/an-over-review-and-many-theories-of-ffvii
Part II: The Fated Trio(s) - https://buffaloborgine.tumblr.com/post/624817710806827008/an-over-review-and-many-theories-of-ffvii
Part III: To be or not to be - https://buffaloborgine.tumblr.com/post/625180368648159232/an-over-review-and-many-theories-of-ffvii
Part IV: LOVELESS -https://buffaloborgine.tumblr.com/post/625631759219015681/an-over-review-and-many-theories-of-ffvii
Part V: The Culprit
Before I get on with this part, let’s all agree (again) on one thing: The timeline of FFVII Remake was a mess even before Cloud comes back to Midgard in the beginning of it, as I have explained in part I.
[If you don’t agree with that, or haven’t read part I, then this part will have a lot of problems to argue, so just go read part I again, please]
“The most useful form of time travel is to go back a year or two and rectify the mistake we made.” - Matt Lucas.
Whoever decided to go back and wreck the timeline of FFVII must have their purpose and it is shown clearly in Remake: To change the flow of events and defy destiny.
To Aerith, if she could stop Sephiroth from becoming the one who calls down the Meteor to destroy the Planet then she can change her own destiny. At the  end of the highway, it is Aerith, who actually shows sympathy to Sephiroth, saying “They.. Their words... They don’t reach him. All these moments and memories, precious and fleeting... they’re like rain rolling off his back. And when they are gone, he won’t cry... or shout... or anything.” Instead of trying to fix other things, Aerith knows that Sephiroth is the main cause and that if she can fix him, then everything will not happen the way they were supposed to.
Tumblr media
To Sephiroth, if he can manipulate Cloud sooner than he did in the original timeline then Cloud and the team won’t be able to stop him from destroying Gaia, therefore he can reach his true aim, becoming God. We can see Sephiroth trying to reach out to Cloud very early in the game, just right after Cloud is back to Midgard, then the moment Cloud meets Aerith, etc; what Sephiroth does is emphasizing his influence on Cloud, telling Cloud that his purpose is to save the Planet, asking for Cloud’s help. By changing his method to approach Cloud, Sephiroth is trying to fix his “fault” so as to defy his destiny.
Tumblr media
But then, let’s be honest, do you believe that the mess in FFVII Remake is caused by either Sephiroth or Aerith, or even both?
We already know that Banora still exists on the map since Shinra didn’t bomb them because the poster of Banora White juice in Midgar. We also know that Tseng had his hair down before the time Before Crisis actually happened, thanks to the flashback cutscene of Elmyra. Also, the Wutai War is still going on. Therefore, if there is someone who actually messed up the timeline, that must be someone who knows about the events of Crisis Core and Before Crisis, and that can’t be neither Sephiroth nor Aerith.
So why I am so certain about that?
- First of all, Banora. There is no point for Sephiroth to actually try to prevent the bombing of Banora, he doesn’t even know about it, or if he does, he wouldn’t mind. It has been shown in Crisis Core that after that event, Sephiroth doesn’t even mention about it, he doesn’t care. It also is no problem to Aerith, she may know about Banora, but does she know about it being bombed? Aerith can sense when someone entered the Lifestream, but she doesn’t know exactly where they were; or she may get the knowledge about it after she entered the Lifestream, but even if she knows about it, does she needs to actually prevent it? No.
- Secondly, Tseng. The best I could come up with the scenario for Tseng to let his hair down before the events of Before Crisis is that Veld was never a Turk which leads to Kalm never got bombed wrongly and Veld lives a normal life with his family (or maybe Kalm was still bombed and Veld died along his family in it, causing the whole Before Crisis event never happened). Sephiroth may know about those events in Before Crisis, but he never actually had any significant part in it, and he doesn’t care about the Turks so there is no point for him to fix this. Aerith knows about Tseng, and yes, she could want to fix Tseng’s destiny, so let give Aerith some possibilities here.
- Finally, Wutai War. The fact that this war is still going makes it impossible for both Sephiroth and Aerith to get involved in this. Sephiroth was the hero of Wutai War and Aerith obviously wants peace, not war, both of them have no reason to let the war continue.
Then, the question is, if neither of them is the culprit behind the mess in Remake, then who is?
Well, the culprit must have all the connection to the three events above, also, must be someone who has already died in the original timeline so they are in the Lifestream and can manage to manipulate the Lifestream, or must be someone that is still alive after Dirge of Cerberus (the last point in the chronological line of the original timeline) and has a connection to the Lifestream so they can manipulate it for the time travel. By doing a quick short, we narrow down the list.
- Vincent is alive after DoC but he seems fine with the result of DoC so he doesn’t need to travel backward for anything.
- Zack is tied to all of those events above but as the end of Remake, he is surprised that he is alive, so it means that he is no culprit.
- Angeal could be the culprit, because he is the type of person that wants to fix things and save people, but exactly because of that, if he is the culprit, he would want to end the Wutai War.
- And finally, Genesis. We see him still alive after DoC, he is closely tied with Banora, there is no proof that he needs to fix Tseng but we know that he does know a lot of things about the Turks (due to the way he talks to Tseng in the factory in CC), and as for the Wutai War, Genesis was jealous with Sephiroth about being the hero, so by keeping the war continue, Genesis could prevent their relationship from faltering apart. Also, he did say that he will come back, and I believe he will.
In conclusion, I believe it is Genesis would be the most possible to be behind the timetravel;ing trainwreck in Remake, because he has the most reasons to do it. (Also the Stamp mascot, as it is shown in Remake that there are two different Stamp puppies in two timeline, it is obvious that the mascot is changed between different timelines. And besides, why a puppy? As we know Zack is referred as "Zack the puppy" by Angeal but from whom did we know about that? Angeal's mom, and then Genesis)
Thank you for reading, this is basically the last part of my theory, maybe there will be more, but for now, it ends here.

Journal: Final Reflection
Tumblr media
The fashion industry has complex links to many other sectors, including manufacturing, advertising, raw material processing, transport, and retailing. The immense profits to be gained in the retail industry give rise to the desire to engage in unethical practices. When suppliers, distributors, designers, or customers are exploited or treated unfairly, fashion industry executives have an ethical duty to improve the situation.
Within Fashion Ethics and Culture course, we were given the opportunity to explore the breadth of creative, aesthetic, and social/cultural expression of design through the lens of ethical and historic considerations – as it is and how it needs to change, the role of the MENA region and its relationship to fashion media.
Tumblr media
As a student of DIDI, I felt the same link and inspiration between the Fashion Ethics and Culture course and my vision of how I want to be as a future designer and how I should change the current fashion industry status quo with my future career path. The course creates a creative paradigm for learning ethical fashion design through the lens of ethical and historic considerations. Students are introduced to fashion history, cultural criticism, contemporary culture, and the diversity of representation including ethical considerations and perspectives.
In my opinion, this course plays as a moderator between all other fashion courses we study and extend to other courses with depth like sociology and design histories and theories to link and emphasis all courses material in a dynamic way. We covered various subjects relating to Body Image Problems, Fur Trade Issues, Cultural Hegemony and Appropriation, Consumer Over-consumption, Environmental Effects, and Concerns, Advertisement Conflicts, Brand Name Forgery, Sweat Shop Working Conditions, and Exclusiveness and Injustice Issues; that simultaneously vary from micro to macro scale through lectures, group activities, open discussions in class, and individual presentations.

I enjoyed the above-listed topics and guest lecture discussions we had this semester, but certain to a whole new way of perceiving the world. I would love to deepen and expand my knowledge on the technology and circularity of the fashion industry future as well as focus on modest fashion and ethical practices and success and failure aspects of the Modist business experience. Whether through merging my learning outcome within this semester to my nest fashion studio or final thesis.
Here's my list of the most meaningful subjects for me and some of the highlights of my recent blogs on these topics:
Tumblr media
ATCAC-Disrupting the Fashion System
ORIGIN AND HISTORY
Atacac is a Swedish fashion studio that Jimmy Herdberg and Rickard Lindqvist created in 2016. Atacac is designed to disrupt the current fashion system. Atacac is like a laboratory for developing ideas and principles. Then they work as consultants sharing that with other brands to improve their design. The other way they work with other designers is what they call Share-wear. When they release a new product in their online store, they also offer the 2D pattern and the 3D model of the garment for free download. This builds a community of home sellers and independent brands that use their patterns and designs. In certain terms, you can do whatever you want. There is a Credit Common Licence connected to the Share-wear which means you can use it commercially in any way you like, and you can make improvements to it, But you need to give credit back to Atacac if you use it commercially and market the product. You also need to make your development available for other people to keep developing further.
For me ATCAC is a brilliant business module example that is trying to blow the entire system to the ground, I loved how I saw ATCAC embodying every principle, I have been learning for the past 3 years. This blog post and the investigation behind it gave me hope that I can succeed in doing something different with my future dream brand.
Tumblr media
Innovative Fashion Marketing
Stretchy Kids’ Clothes Petit Pli gets a growing identity
A sustainable fashion design example that offers apparel that evolves as the wearer grows older has an innovative branding that sounds like “more human” and “less professional." The idea is to reduce the waste of apparel and save parents’ money as children progress up a range of sizes in the first three years of their lives.
It needs time and education to promote meaningful behavioral change. We assume that we are too late for much of our generation. We assume, though, that we are just in time for the next era of LittleHumans. The brilliance of the brand strategy is in anchoring on the opportunity where new parents and young children are more open to improvement and learning than any other part of our community. They do everything not only to promote constructive behavioral improvement but also to make it as seamless as possible.
Marketing as a term became cliché of how much brands are using it without actually making the right –positive impact on their users, within this blog post example of how marketing approach could be current, supportive and extending the brand value to further stage where the client loyalty will be granted due to that extended value, this reminded me of applying the product-service systems methodology, where it's not only the brand responsibility to produce and market a product but they innovate different approaches to extended their after-sale services and product value to emotionally engage their clients.
Tumblr media
Empathic Design Process
Empathy is the core of the entire process of Design Thinking. Putting ourselves in someone else’s shoes reinforces our ability to interpret information, and lets us understand how other humans perceive the world around us.
The realm of fashion design is shifting from an external focus on the industry, or an internal focus on integrating technology, to an empathetic focus on people. While it’s not too difficult to rally people around this general idea, it can be hard at first to understand how to translate it into tactics.
I ask myself as a designer, how do we make a good connection between a fashion worker and a customer? My solution to this question is to make fashion employees the hero of the story, create brand ideals around them. Plan company modules to be a win-win for staff and stakeholders. As designers, we should reconfigure how the framework is giving back to the societies through which we work. I expect, as a future fashion designer, to build a secure working environment that will help better the lives of single mothers in Egypt. By offering comprehensive educational opportunities and curating future working talents. The Empathy Concept process will be incorporated not only to understand the consumers but also most critically, to understand the true needs of the heroes behind my future brand.
Tumblr media
Technology & future of Circular Fashion
Fashion has always been a major hub for innovation — from the invention of the sewing machine to the rise of e-commerce. As technology, fashion is both forward-looking and cyclical. At $2.2 T, the apparel industry is now one of the top sectors in the global economy. Nowadays, apparel technology is rising more than ever. From robots that sew and cut clothing to AI algorithms that anticipate style patterns, to VR mirrors in dressing rooms, technology automates, customizes, and speeds up every aspect of fashion.
In the optimistic scenario, the future will be led by innovators and collaborators, the industry will leap forward in developing digital passports for clothing that carries an internationally recognized digital asset trigger that could be accessed by designers, retailers, recyclers, and customers alike. This type of standardized infrastructure and labeling approach means that not every brand or approach provider has its own patented approaches, leaving customers stuck in the sea of things to consider. In this way, the future of fashion technologies could truly unify the industry around common practices that would make circularity more visible to everyone.

Passionate about my TES OCs so here we go
Nerevarine of TES III: Reylvam Drethas
A dunmer who grew up in the Imperial City so knows jack all about Morrowind culture. Chaotic Good - arrested for stealing food, clothing, and goods for orphans. Acrobatic Scout turned Spellsword after chillin’ around Vvardenfell’s Mages Guilds. Bisexual disaster. Doesn’t know things. Can totally make that jump guys just watch. Scared of Ordinators and dunmer funeral customs.
Hero of Kvach of TES IV: Aerinil Ivyshade
Bosmer pirate arrested after harassing Imperial Nobles along the Gold Coast. Chaotic Neutral, Chaotic good when in a good mood. Grumpy with a heart of gold. Dislikes the Empire. Doesn’t realise she’s having a redemption arc after getting out of prison. May steal but no murder. Heck the Green Pact after she almost starved in her youth. Agnostic. Doesn’t know magic and doesn’t care to know magic. Eventually settles down with a breton man and they live on a farm.
The Last Dragonborn of TES V: Marinetta Jemane
Bosmer with a Breton name (she’s the daughter of Aerinil). Moves north from Chorrol to Skyrim to find herself. Big lesbian, worships Dibella. Soft and gentle and kind, would be a cottage core blogger in a modern AU tbh. Sneaky archer but thieving makes her feel bad unless they deserve it (ie are a rich bastard). Loves animals, grew up on a farm in Cyrodiil so the Green Pact makes her cry. Will be minder her own business and then wonder ‘hey what the efff happened to the dwemer.” Doesn’t curse ever.
The Vestige of ESO: Lilssa Riverthorn
Absolute dork. Will make puns any chance she gets. PTSD and anxiety though. Plays the flute. Green Pact compliant unlike my other two Bosmer. Will kick your ass without hesitation if you think of bosmers as “feral savage cannibals”. Arachnophobic, and also doesn’t like the undead. You know what else she doesn’t like? Daedra? More like... gay-dra. Has a hero complex and can be way too trusting; always tries to see the good in everyone. Also lesbian. Worships Y’ffre but is also having a spiritual self crisis. Is one of those bosmer with the horns but it’s actually a headband she crafted sssshhhh don’t tell anyone. Smol but fierce.
ESO Side Character: Manat Samsi
Urshilaku Ashlander Velothi. Will correct you if you call him an “ashlander”, it’s “Velothi”. Adores guar and other animals of Morrowind heck you if you think they’re weird. Robs, cheats, harasses Tribunal worshippers and considers this a social good to assist with the Nerevarine Prophecy. Cooking is one of his hobbies- actually setting off on a journey across Tamriel to learn other culture’s dishes. His birthday is Heart’s Day which he thinks is pretty cringe. Unsure of his sexuality - he likes swords more than people.
ESO Side Character: Enrion Grayorin
Altmer vampire. Used to be an adventurer officer of Skywatch like you until he took a Porphyric Hemophilia fang to the knee neck. Chaotic evil bitch - absolute nihilist and hedonist who lives for entertaining himself.  Lives in Solitude, Skyrim now. Loves fine arts; plays, fashion, and reading good literature. Would apply winged eyeliner with the help of a knife. Was married to an altmer woman named Milinwen and has no idea what became of her since he left Summerset. Drinks blood mixed with wine and thinks himself clever for it.

S+:
Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years - my favorite games in the FF franchise it had a pretty damn good story and the characters were really memorable to me. Also its home to two of the few best OST that has Uematsu has composed Red Wings and The Four Fiends. On top of that I really loved how the sequel adds another layer of strategy with its lunar system. I know people hate the sequel cause of how it was spit into multiple episodes you had to buy, but as a person playing the PSP version where the all the stories were all bundled into one price it was actually pretty fun to see how and what the characters has been up to all this time and some fresh faces in forms of either children or comrades of the old IV cast.
S:
Final Fantasy VI: I love this game its my second favorite FF title. I think my favorite thing about it was at different times you controlled different party members it wasn’t just Terra the whole time. Also the fact anybody can learn magic so in a pinch you could use your offensive characters to heal. Who can forget the opera scene and the Dancing Mad song? Instant classic songs
Final Fantasy Type 0: My third favorite game in the franchise. I know that is an unpopular opinion, but I just love the setting and how you can control any character cause its their story and not like a specific character (Ace). Every character has their own weapons and way of fighting I really love using Cinque,Jack, and Trey. I know people hate using her cause she is slow, but I feel like its all about timing she is super strong honestly. I never finished it nor a new game plus where I think it ends differently than the first playthrough. I love the battle system overworld battles play more like Tales of while the missions play out like XV’s battle system, but I think better honestly.
A:
Final Fantasy X: My fourth favorite FF title and if I remember my very first. Touching story and I love the characters. The only real flack I have is unskippable cutscenes even in the remaster. It really makes it annoying when facing two certain bosses.
Final Fantasy IX: My fifth favorite FF title. It had quite a few memorable characters and fun games on the side. I really liked its story too. The final boss really came out of no where I still think it should’ve ended at Kuja, but whatevs.
Final Fantasy VII: This one is a classic which is why it made A rank. I’m fairly certain the remake will be S or S+ tier with how they are expanding on characters and the story (I will cry over Biggs,Wedge, and Jessie I can feel it you know its coming, but I bet Square will pull out all the stops to get us to like them)
Final Fantasy Rhythm games: My other favorite genre after JRPGs which is rhythm games. I love the little chibi characters!
B:
Crisis Core: Its a nice prequel and the ending was really good I remember first playing it I cried even though I knew it was coming. I really like the song “Why” that plays during the credits
Final Fantasy V: Only reason it is below A rank is cause I never really got far in it. And both times I played it I only made it to the part where we find out about Faris and Lenna’s relationship. Job system was pretty cool and was an upgrade from III.
Final Fantasy Record Keeper: For a mobile game its pretty good and the gatcha was I think for weapons and not for characters.
Final Fantasy VIII: I actually like the junction and drawing system it was new. The final boss fight would leave me on the edge of my seat cause the final boss I think draws all of a certain type of magic from you every other turn so it was basically a battle against time. This series had more of a modern day/futuristic vibe to it. The only reason its a B cause I didn’t really care too much for the story.
Final Fantasy II: Its an easy game after hitting yourself for two hours straight. No really. After I got past the first part of the game I find that ya know it isn’t THAT bad of a game kinda tedious at the start to get your stats up there, but after that it really is smooth sailing the rest of the game.
Final Fantasy: It is only at B rank cause this is where everything began even if the game play is simple and the characters have no name and there really isn’t much of a story
C:
Final Fantasy X-2: I think its nice that we get to see a more light hearted story for the most part, but I don’t think this was really necessary. Has one of the best battle systems in the franchise though I have fun playing it and it does have some really challenging fights.
Final Fantasy XIII: I don’t think its bad as what people make it out to be its honestly an average game and the story is alright.
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius: I used to play this game and the event stories that would come out were really good, but if you do not have 6 Star characters with super strong equipment you would never able to finish the story. Also from what I’ve heard its not even harder to obtain lapis to draw for characters. Gatcha has been going downhill and the events harder which is why I eventually quit.
Final Fantasy III: I haven’t gotten far, but I don’t really care too much for how you can only have so many spells for each level. I think I like V and X-2 more since you can actually learn all the magics by using that class in battle.
World of Final Fantasy: Meh...thats all I gotta say I want to kill that animal thing “THE this” “THE that” if I want to hear shit like that I would go watch Teen Titans Go
D:
Final Fantasy All The Bravest: Again not as bad as the fandom says it is and I breezed through it in a week. I guess I can see why people are ticked though. $1 for a character and it might not even show up in your party.
Final Fantasy XII: I’m thinking about giving this another chance honestly. I wasn’t a fan of the gameplay or license board.
Final Fantasy XV: Probably one of the biggest disappointments since me playing XII. I payed full price for both AND bought the strategy guides which was not cheap. While XV is better with its gameplay the story felt really rushed and had some of the worst romantic subplot I have ever seen compared to any previous Final Fantasy. Noct had more development with his fellow chocobruhs than he ever did with Luna.
The Dissidia games: I’m not a fan of fighting games I think what I liked most about these were different heroes/villains interacting with each other.
F:
Dirge of Cerberus: Terrible game play, Terrible story, I got motion sickness extremely easy, all around bad game.
Final Fantasy XV mobile game: I never played it, but I have seen ads for it and I’m like really? REALLY?

Hey!! sorry if youve already answered this but i couldnt find it anywhere! ive just started getting into dc comics and reading batfam mostly but i think young justice looks v cool so i was wondering if you had any recommendations of the best young justice comics or where to generally get started with them? Thank you!!
hi, welcome to comics! i haven’t really made a whole reading guide for the team, so you’re not missing anything or bothering me with this ask - i can absolutely help you get started with young justice. thanks for giving me an excuse to ramble about and recommend comics to read for my favourite team lol
Tumblr media
i’m going to try to keep this as concise and easy to follow as i possibly can, but i know i’m going to make this longer than it needs to be, so it’s going under a read more.
so there are a few ways you can go about this: you can start by reading various origin stories, by reading the kids’ first meetings with each other, or you can literally just dive head first into young justice vol. 1 #1. i’ll make a short list for each of these starting points and also give some further reading at the end.
let’s start at the very beginning for the first appearances of each of the main kids, aka the core four.
a lonely place of dying (1989)
tim drake aka robin’s origin story. he technically first appears in the batman: year three arc, but it’s kind of just a cameo and this story expands upon it.
reign of the supermen! (1993)
conner kent aka superboy’s origin story. this ties into the much larger death and return of superman arc, but you can get away with just reading this.
i have a longer recommended reading list for conner that you can find here if you were interested in reading more of him.
the flash: reckless youth (1994)
bart allen aka impulse’s origin story. this ties into the dominator’s invasion! arc and then loosely into crisis on infinite earths and the trial of the flash, but none of those are necessary to read to understand his origin.
wonder woman: lifelines (1996)
cassie sandsmark aka wonder girl’s origin story.
next, their first meetings and team ups.
superboy & robin: world’s finest three (1996)
tim and conner’s first meeting.
robin plus impulse (1996)
tim and bart’s first meeting.
superboy and the ravers #7 (1997)
bart and conner’s first meeting.
impulse #28 (1997)
cissie king-jones aka arrowette’s first appearance and meeting with bart.
the boys finally meet cassie in young justice #4 (1999)
next, the first formation of what became young justice, leading into the original series.
jla: world without grownups (1998)
the first meeting of young justice.
young justice: the secret (1998)
secret’s first appearance and the boys’ first real mission together.
young justice vol. 1 (1998)
the beginning of the first on going series!
the original series is a total of #55 issues. it contains a number of mini story arcs that tie into a larger overarching story that lasts the whole series, so i’d really recommend just reading the entire thing.
there are a number of crossover events such as sins of youth, our world’s at war, joker’s last laugh, and world without young justice, but the editor’s notes will always tell you what comic to read next for the full story.
finally, if you enjoyed the original series, and want to see how the core four’s character development and stories continued, here are some additional comics:
titans / young justice: graduation day (2003)
the young justice team disbands.
some characters die.
teen titans vol. 3 (2003)
the core four join the newly reformed teen titans.
i have some issues with the writer’s portrayal of certain characters, as well as the handling of certain plot lines, but that’s for a different post.
infinite crisis (2006)
a follow up to crisis on infinite earths. the core four have various roles in this.
some characters die.
final crisis: legion of three worlds (2008)
this ties into the final crisis arc, and this specific comic mostly focuses on the legion of super heroes, but some characters that are part of the core four get resurrected.
the core four also all have their own solo series, if you were interested in reading their independent adventures.
tim has robin vol. 1-4 and red robin
conner has superboy vol. 4-5, superboy and the ravers, and adventure comics vol. 2 (again i have that longer rec list for him)
bart has impulse and the flash: fastest man alive (don’t read this one actually)
and cassie has wonder girl vol. 1-2
there is a current ongoing young justice series (volume 3 written by bendis), but i don’t know how i feel about this series overall yet, so my recommendation is pending. as of me writing this, there are less than 10 issues, so up to you if you’d like to get caught up for the new monthly on going.
anyways, i really hope this is all useful! i might at some point make in depth reading lists like i made for conner for bart, cassie, and tim. if you have additional questions, i am more than happy to help - no one is ever bothering me with asks, especially about young justice!

Which all Final Fantasy games have you played?
I’ve got a tier list going lol:
boring tier where I actually beat the final boss - I, II, IV, VII, X, XII, XIII, XIII-2, LR XIII, XV, Tactics, Tactics Advance, Tactics A2, Type-0 HD, both Theatrhythms lol?
the final dungeon/boss wiped the floor with me once and I ran off and never went back - III, V, XII Revenant Wings
I have a file but I’m never ever going to remember what I was supposed to do next - VI, IX (I liked what I played a lot but I made it to the 4th disc and got distracted), Crisis Core, 4 Heroes of Light (this one is cute though try it if a copy materializes in your house), FF Explorers
the cafeteria lady stole my quistis card after several hours of balamb triple triad so I ragequit to wait for the remaster - VIII
edit - oh I guess I’ve also played a little bit of FFXIV

Final Fantasy Record Keeper Physical Water-Weak Argent Odin Fight
The Argent Odin or White Odin fights in the Final Fantasy Record Keeper (FFRK) mobile game are quest level 600. They are either weak to physical or magic damage.
I’ve already beaten a few of the Argent Odin (AOdin) fights. Unsurprisingly, the very first one I managed to take down was the physical-weak and fire-weak version of White Odin (WOdin) with Genesis Rhapsodos from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII as my main DPS.
Tumblr media
I talk more about that fight in another post. Currently, Genesis is my absolute, most favorite Final Fantasy VII (#ad) char. He’s the reason why I’m playing Final Fantasy Record Keeper.
More Information About Argent Odin
Anyway, now I have 1 Level 99 Odin (Ultra Magic) Magicite and 1 Level 99 Odin (Ultra Attack) Magicite. Both have Blade Ward Level 8, Spell Ward Level 8, Lord’s Seal: Ice Level 15, Lord’s Seal: Earth Level 15, and Lord’s Seal: Lightning Level 15.
The first time you defeat a version of Argent Odin, you get a couple of rewards.
For example, when I beat the physical-weak and fire-weak version of WOdin, I got 1 Level 1 of 50 Odin (Ultra Attack) Magicite with the Lord’s Seal: Ice Level 15 passive, 1 Level 1 of 50 Blade of Recollection: Ice, and 1 Level 1 of 50 Lord’s Gauntlet: Physical Ice.
You get an Odin Magicite each time you beat a WOdin fight. You need 4 copies in order to break its level cap up to 99. Each Odin Magicite will come with 1 Seal. The element will be opposite to the one you used to fight this Odin.
The fire-weak version of White Odin uses ice attacks so when I beat him, he gave me rewards that were meant to boost my ice team.
The Blade of Recollection: Ice is a dagger-type weapon that “adds small boost to ice damage”. Even when fully maxed, the stats on this pale in comparison to other weapons so I didn’t bother to do anything with this item other than move it to the vault where it won’t clog up my inventory.
The Lord’s Gauntlet: Physical Ice is infinitely more useful. It’s a bracer-type item that can be equipped in the armor slot. It also gives a “small boost to ice damage”.
But when fully maxed, it gives pretty high attack as well as defense and resistance. This is really good, especially for a char who doesn’t have their Hero Equipment yet.
Naturally, I really wanted to get the fire version of that gauntlet for Genesis. I also wanted to inherit a Lord’s Seal: Fire on my Odin Magicites.
These Seals increase the elemental damage of your chars and reduces the elemental damage they take, depending on the inherited Seal.
So for instance, the fire Seal would increase the fire damage of my chars and reduce the fire damage they take.
Water Elemental Banner
My physical and magical water teams were really, really bad though so the thought of ever being able to defeat water-weak WOdin seemed like nothing more than a faraway dream.
Heck, for a long while, I only had the ice seal. It was only a bit recently that I was able to take on the other Odins but I’m nowhere near done. Still have a lot more Seals to get.
Larely, I’ve been throwing my Realm/Elemental x11 tickets on the Water Elemental banner in the hopes of getting useful relics that could improve my water teams.
I’ve also been able to get some water tech from a couple of other banners. It felt like a really slow process, but at least my water team was improving.
Before this latest pull that gave me Lion’s (from Final Fantasy XI) Synchro Arcane Soul Break (SASB) and Rikku’s (from Final Fantasy X) Sync, I actually managed to get both of Tidus’s (from Final Fantasy X) Syncs (not on the same pull). I talk more about those pulls in other posts.
Getting Tidus’s Syncs made me feel a bit more hopeful about my chances of finally being able to take on water-weak and physical-weak Argent Odin.
So I tried the fight. This happened before I got Lion’s Sync and Rikku’s Sync.
Physical-weak, water-weak Argent Odin team
My team and their relics were as follows:
Bartz Klauser from Final Fantasy V
Dual Awakening Soul Break 1 (DASB1), Awoken Rousing Winds
True Arcane Soul Break 2 (TASB2), Master of Wind
TASB3, Master of Fire
SASB3, Aqueous Bond
SASB2, Earthen Bond
SASB1, Ethereal Bond
Awakened Arcane Soul Break 5 (AASB5), Flame Awakening
Overstrike Soul Break (OSB), Hand of the Crystals
Glint+ Soul Break 4 (G+4), Blazing Power
G+3, Fluid Power
G+1, Quest of the Four
Glint Soul Break 2 (G2), Tetrad Beam
Legend Materia Relic 1 (LMR1), Fragments of Grace
Even with Tidus’s Sync, my water team is still pretty bad so I had to resort to using Bartz. I have a lot of his BDL relics but the only water BDL relic that I have for him is his Sync 3. The rest all deal a variety of other elements.
So have to go through a few hoops just to get Bartz to work on this fight. Having his Hero Ability, which deals fire, water, wind, and earth damage, and the wording on some of his Soul Breaks makes this possible.
So first is I use his TASB3 (his TASB2 would work as well. It doesn’t really matter which one I use for this fight since neither will give him a water elemental infusion anyway). Then I cast his DASB1. His TASB3 will infuse him with fire.
Bartz’s DASB1 will overwrite that and infuse him with wind. So I have to use his G+3 to infuse him with water and overwrite the wind infusion.
Although his DASB1 infuses him with wind, it gives him Dual Awoken Spellblade Mode instead of Dual Awoken Wind Mode. This lets Bartz use any Spellblade ability regardless of its element.
So with his Hero Ability, which is a Spellblade-type of ability, and with his G+3, he can deal water damage even after using his DASB1.
Once the effects of his DASB1 run out, I can use his water Sync which will automatically infuse him with water. If the effects of that run out and the fight is still going, then I have to resort to using his AASB5.
This infuses him with fire but, similar to his DASB1, gives him Awoken Spellblade Mode so I just need to overwrite the fire infusion again.
Unfortunately, Glint+ Soul Breaks can only be used once so now I have to resort to using Bartz’s G2 to infuse him with water.
Glints need 1 Soul Break bar before they can be cast though so in order to use Bartz’s Awakening then Glint right away, he needs 3 bars.
Tyro from Final Fantasy Record Keeper
AASB1, Fantasy Grimoire Vol. I
Arcane Overstrike Soul Break 3 (AOSB3), Triple Phase
AOSB1, Link of Light
Ultra Soul Break 4 (USB4), Arbiter’s Tome
USB3, Divine Veil Grimoire
USB1, Warder’s Apocrypha
OSB, Arbiter’s Apocrypha
G, Purifying Grimoire
Burst Soul Break (BSB), Keeper’s Tome
Unique Soul Break, Sentinel’s Grimoire
LMR1, Archival Secrets
Tyro served as my physical support. He may not be the best but he’s the only one I’ve got so have to make do with him.
At least he can also Wrath and Entrust his gauges to his allies, if needed.
Lenna Charlotte Tycoon from Final Fantasy V
SASB1, White Magic Mastery
AASB1, Champion of Life
AASB2, Spreading One’s Wings
G+1, Tycoon’s Protection
USB1, Moogle Boost
USB3, Essence of Water
USB4, Princesses’ Prayer
BSB1, Phoenix of Tycoon
Lenna served as my healer.
Yuffie Kisaragi from Final Fantasy VII
Chain Soul Break (CSB), Smoke Shell
AASB1, Sublime Doom
AOSB1, Freewheeling Bloodfest
USB2, Freewheeling Gauntlet
G+1, Ebb and Flow
G2, Stillwater Crag
G1, Freewheeling Reflection
LMR, Finders Keepers
Yuffie served as my Chain holder. She also imperiled water via the Aquatic Weakness ability. Too bad her USB2 doesn’t imperil water as well.
She also had to act as my third DPS with her Awakening since my water team is just that lacking.
Tidus from Final Fantasy X
CSB, A Fleeting Dream
TASB, Apex Blitz Ace
SASB2, Blitz Ace
SASB1, Blitz Yell
AASB1, Rising Dream
USB2, Quick Rush
USB1, Day to Remember
G+, Sphere Form
G, Ace Form
LMR2, Blitz Basics
Yuffie’s Chain is way better than Tidus’s so opted to use hers over his. Tidus was better as a DPS anyway.
For my main Magicite, used Odin (Ultra Attack) and for my sub Magicite, I used Leviathan with 2 Empower Water, Ifrit with Healing Boon and Health Boon, Madeen with Health Boon and Fast Act, and Madeen with 2 Deadly Strikes.
Physical-weak, water-weak Argent Odin fight take 1
This team did well enough but, unfortunately, couldn’t get the win. Bartz actually dealt good damage once I managed to get him going. Tidus was definitely the main DPS though. His Sync 2 is particularly amazing.
This Odin has some pretty annoying mechanics though. He can inflict the Berserk debuff and he can hit really hard. Berserk can easily be shrugged off by my healer because she has a really high mind stat.
Had Tidus on slot 1 so he wasn’t debuffed. The others didn’t fare as well. I later found that this Odin can also Berserk those who don’t have a water elemental infusion.
Tyro’s a support so he’ll never have a water elemental infusion and his mind stat is so low that there’s no way he can recover from being hit with this annoying debuff in seconds.
Bartz and Yuffie can get water elemental infusion but I couldn’t time things right so they still ended up being Berserked anyway.
Even when I managed to get past this, there was also the fact that Argent Odin can deal a lot of damage, especially in the latter part of the fight. He reduces the effects of healing with Anti-heal. He can also inflict the Sap debuff.
Lenna can provide party-wide Last Stand with one of her USBs but this requires a bit of setup. Need to cast her USB first then use one of her abilities. It’s only after that that the skill that gives Last Stand will show up. So it could be too late by then.
Was able to get pretty close to winning so maybe a couple more tries and tweaks to my team might eventually get me the win but I lost interest in trying.
I thought it’d be better to just wait until I can get more and better water tech before trying again. Sure, I really want the fire rewards for Genesis but what’s the rush anyway?
Teambuilding for physical-weak, water-weak Argent Odin fight
So I just left this fight alone for now. That is, until I got Lion’s Sync and Rikku’s Sync. This rekindled my interest in trying this fight again. Wasn’t sure what the best way to go about this was though.
Should I replace Yuffie with Rikku as my Chain holder? Their Chains are good and pretty similar. One difference is that Yuffie can instantly cast her Chain whereas there’s a bit of a delay when using Rikku’s.
I also considered the possibility of just using the Roaming Warrior water Chain Soul Break even though it pales in comparison to Yuffie’s and Rikku’s.
This was because I thought of using both Bartz and Lion alongside Tidus, which meant I needed to drop someone so it was either my Chain holder or support.
In the end, I went with Tidus, Lion, Yuffie, Elarra (from Final Fantasy Record Keeper), and Aeris or Aerith Gainsborough (from Final Fantasy VII).
I’d been reluctant to drop Bartz since he did do well even if it took time to get him up and going. But I thought I’d give Lion a try for now. Since I now have 2 BDL relics (her Sync and Awakening) for her, I readily made her Hero Ability.
Her Sync, AASB, and Hero Ability all have ways to imperil the water element which not only helped to increase hers, Tidus’s, and Yuffie’s damage, it also combatted Odin’s tendency to increase his water resistance.
Went with Yuffie was my Chain holder since I’d already spent the resources on her Spheres and Boards and such.
Wasn’t sure about dropping Tyro but since surviving against Odin’s attacks seemed to be the biggest issue, I thought I’d give the 2 healers strat a try.
I don’t have Elarra’s Awakening or Sync but I do have both of her Ultras. One of them gives Regenga which can overwrite Sap. The other increases everyone’s critical hit damage.
Missing Aerith’s Sync but I have her Awakening and her Ultras. One of them gives Last Stand. She also has a Glint+ that can instantly remove debuffs from everyone.
Physical-weak, water-weak Argent Odin fight latest try
With 2 healers, it was much easier to keep everyone alive. Aerith even has a Soul Break that allows the party to avoid 1 magical attack.
Wasn’t looking through a list of Odin’s moves when I did this fight so not sure if I actually managed to cast this Soul Break in time to avoid Odin’s more dangerous attacks. Didn’t seem to matter much though thanks to having 2 healers.
Tyro may not be around but still got plenty of support in the form of Yuffie’s Chain, Lion’s imperils, and Elarra’s critical hit damage up. Aerith can even increase the party’s critical hit chance. Both she and Elarra can also speed up the party.
At some point during the fight, Odin will instantly KO the chars on slots 2 and 4. Put Lion and Yuffie on those slots.
If I can’t keep them from being Berserked and I don’t have the time or the means to cure them, then it was better to let them fall. Because once they get revived by Aerith’s AASB, they’ll no longer be inflicted with Berserk.
Was so happy and pleased when I finally managed to get my first win against physical-weak and water-weak White Odin. Took me 42.25 seconds.
Tumblr media
Then I fought Argent Odin again so I could get another fire Seal. The first will be for my physical Odin Magicite while the second will be for my magical Odin Magicite.
My second win took 38.25 seconds.
Tumblr media
Now I have 2 fire Seals, one for my physical Odin Magicite and another for my magical one.
Leveled up Lord’s Gauntlet: Physical Fire to the max as soon as I could then equipped it to Genesis.
