Oh I think this also needs to be stated too, this is my main blog. Sayuri is my main muse that I write, I have other blogs that are out there but, she is number one. Once more, stating this, you do not have to agree with her as she is not everyone's cup of tea but respect the fact she will always be my priority. Trying to gain friendships to acquire ships on my other blogs? That's not cool, frankly, the RPC needs to do better when it comes to this. Female muses are not stepping stones to acquire male muses that the mun writes. We preach a lot to respect female muses in the RPC but rarely if ever show that through actions. We really do need to go back to treat others the way you want to be treated because it is sorely lacking.

Firstly, thanks so much for your patience with my ramblings haha, it's always an absolute pleasure to read your responses even if I get more unhinged with each one of mine! Of course, I'll continue to do my best with the wiki! (Actually, I think it's because of you that I noticed Daigo's age(s) were a year off haha, so thank you for that as well.)
I think you hit the nail on the head, and I adore how his relationships were executed in Y7 as well! I was initially a little bit apprehensive when trailers for 7 were coming out since RGGJo (and Mine, of course) were my favorite antagonists, and Jo is by far the character who's changed the most between games, but I can safely say both… Joes… are right up there for me.
I think a strong early subversion/conversion/something is that RGGJo really does just go and shoot up a rival office for attacking Arakawa (even though Arakawa was fine?). With Y7Jo, even though he's covering for Masato, the fact that's still the story Ichi gets told and he doesn't question it sort of speaks to Y7Jo having a similarly "protective" streak even if it's not actually what happened in that instance. That's also demonstrated in The Eye Scene as you mention later.
Like, I think that story is fairly clearly something he and Arakawa discussed. Masato got in contact with Jo first, and the mess Ichi tries to clear up when he comes in the morning after is indicative of a very long, stressful conversation between two people. Given Masato absolutely should not be smoking, process of elimination would suggest it's Jo. And it's a story they would've aimed to make as believable as possible, so the fact it is believable (Ichi being a bit gullible notwithstanding) says something to me.
For two characters who hardly even speak to each other onscreen (criminal btw), there's a lot to dig into when it comes to Arakawa and Sawashiro's relationship. That aside, I'm super excited to see you analyse Jo's psyche, and I can't wait to read it! I've been reading Japanese psychology texts myself and noticing a number of concepts that apply to Mine, but may apply to the Arakawas as well. There's a great deal I want to share once I get my thoughts in order.
I totally agree Mine's influence on RGGJo was the strongest of the three! I mean, y'know, that's why I acquired brainworms for RGGJo/Mine specifically. (Still 1000% going to commission you by the way when I've got my refs together + am not in danger of being unable to afford Gaiden and 8 lol). Sort of like with Masato and Daigo, I think characters who are clearly based on each other work quite well together even if it's seen as crack. You can come up with pretty compelling ideas trying to rationalize those similarities from a Watsonian perspective.
The devotion is absolutely the strongest point (having the exact same relationship tag for Arakawa and Daigo respectively + similar wording for it in the 15th anniversary book is a nice touch), but for me it's also what's done with it in terms of presentation. For both Mine and RGGJo you're supposed to believe they're actively working against Daigo and Arakawa's interests for most of the story.
And they probably kind of are, but they're convinced the pros outweigh the cons (as with the resort gambit, which you're remembering correctly!) Though it may not have the same effect nowadays for various reasons (spoilers, plot points becoming predictable on account of other games, etc), the devotion was originally supposed to be a twist.
There are other things, of course; they're both the "treasurers" of their respective organizations, they're both third-in-command of the Tojo and Omi, they're both talented people who possess overwhelming strength and influence and are regarded as geniuses (despite scenes to the contrary). If I wanted to reach design-wise, they've got mirrored ahoges, and Mine's "Legend" costume is probably based on characters like RGGJo and Nishiki. Their first cards were even officially stated to have synergy on account of their very similar skillset.
You end up noticing a lot of things like that if you're clinically insane like I am, but the one thing that's really stuck with me is that the render used for RGGJo's office is specifically a new render the Hakuho Clan office. It's missing the stuff that's supposed to be missing, the stuff Kanda broke, but only that. Mine's art collection, which is very personal to him as is also revealed in RGGO, is preserved in full.
There are a number of newly-rendered locations in RGGO and they could've just done that, or they could've picked any location that's not (imo) one of the most iconic, but I don't know why they didn't. And I don't know whether it was just convenience, whether it's simply meant to be reflective of them having similar tastes without being the same office, or whether it's just honest to God the same office. I mean, it's not like there's any reason to acknowledge it in-game.
But I think, in a weird way, that this is one of the things that carried over to Y7Jo alongside the devotion and The Eye Scene. A lot of people don't notice because there's so much going on in Y7's finale, but the Arakawa Family office the finale takes place in is specifically Y7Jo's office. And if you examine the Hakuho Clan office and the Arakawa Family office as spaces Mine and Y7Jo have created for themselves, there are very few aesthetic similarities other than being pretty tasteful two-storey offices, but both are, in their own ways, designed for companionship.
There is the obvious fully-stocked bar and main seating area in both, but that's sort of whatever, that's entertainment and hospitality. What really catches my eye, at least on the first floor, is that every piece of gym equipment in Mine's office comes in pairs; similarly, there's the pair of armchairs that are just by themselves behind Y7Jo's desk.
The second floor of Mine's office basically consists of only a TV, a table, and a set of couches, but I think the second floor of of 7Jo's is the more telling of the two. You walk upstairs from this very snazzy, richly decorated first floor (btw, like Mine's gym equipment and art, I would like to think the fact it's decked from top to bottom with books isn't just for show) to a second floor that consists of… absolutely nothing.
Nothing except another pair of armchairs, echoing those on the first floor, facing out into this gorgeous (RGGJou would--and has--said "romantic") view of Kamurocho. Maybe it's just to have this dramatic, spacious arena for the very last fight, but I just think that visual is potentially such a strong bit of storytelling via set dressing.
I also think with RGGJo being split into Y7Jo and Masato, some of the Mine influence kind of ended up with Masato too, specifically as Aoki. At least insofar as all the catastrophizing about not truly being cared-for despite evidence to the contrary, and I kind of felt like the moment where he shoots at and narrowly misses Ichi's head, then throws his gun away for a good ol' fistfight was Something.
Completely agree on your assessment of the link to Nishiki as well! There's the surface level design similarities with young RGGJo back when he had long hair and accessorized less, but yeah, no notes. I definitely think Y7Arakawa's line applies perfectly to the dynamic they were going for, too.
I thought the implication was that Masato wouldn't have survived at all in RGGO on account of Arakawa being unable to open the locker, but it's super interesting to think about how things might've turned out otherwise! A Masato who's Just A Guy and treated sort of like RGGO Mitsu's offscreen wife and kid is such a concept.
I really do hope there's a continuation to the story; as it stands, it literally ends with Jo in a coma lol. But I'm grateful RGGO is still accessible and actively updated, in comparison to the previous mobile titles, which also had original stories that are all gone now.
Jo was actually in a very recent event, even. The event spent its whole runtime talking about how cats are sensitive to smell, and evidently, according to the ending, Jo is incredibly sensitive to smell himself. I'm not sure which Jo it was even supposed to be since he was offscreen, but uh, catboy confirmed? Nyawashiro…? It's fun trivia.
Mentioning Arakawa's "sons" line in such close proximity to talking about Tsutsumi reminds me! There was this Y7 interview with all three actors (that has since been privated and that I kick myself every day for archiving) where Nakai and Tsutsumi were talking about how they usually play father and son.
So there's this very, very long history of them co-starring (as I'm sure you're aware lol), like from way back when Tsutsumi's voice was actually higher. And I think the casting choices absolutely are informed by the history and context there, both as individuals and as co-stars, both in terms of filmography as you say and not.
One particular anecdote that just Gets Me is that this was Tsutsumi's first time voice-acting, and he honestly wasn't even sure he'd take the role, but he accepted once he heard Nakai was on board. And he went on to actually enjoy it so much he read the rest of the (gargantuan) script, far beyond his own dialogue, and ended up forgetting the lines to the play he was doing at the time.
He also went on to voice-act a second time in The Deer King, where he plays… another iintimidating man with a violent reputation and a "soft"/deeper side (who is of course a reluctant father), actually. I actually have seen most of his other roles, and Jo really is almost one-of-a-kind. Though it's hard to find any one character he's "like," I can absolutely see what you mean with regard to Oda Nobunaga and Kanda.
I think that actually really works with regard to audiences having an idea of what to expect from his character and to an extent from Y7 if you look Jo as more of a culmination of Tsutsumi's career up to that point. In addition to what you've mentioned already, I also detect a lot of Koda (Good Luck!!) and Ogata (SP)'s themes with regret and making amends and vengeance in particular.
There's a little bit of Appare (Kagerou Touge) and Shibata (Keiho) too, I think, in terms of presenting yourself as worse than you actually are. And I think Tsutsumi's own struggles with mental health lend a lot of gravitas to characters like Ishigami (Suspect X) and Jo, who you can't really argue Isn't Depressed, especially at present.
And of course, y'know, he's played yakuza (to great effect), he's played dads (to great effect; btw, I would say the worst fathers/father figures he's played are probably in Fable II and My Blood & Bones in a Flowing Galaxy, Jo somehow doesn't even compare lol). Also, pretty much every Tsutsumi character either ends up dead or in jail, being a villain in an RGG game notwithstanding. There are often very strong critiques of police and politics present in his work as well, Y7 being no exception.
It's similar with Nakai, maybe to an even greater extent than with Tsutsumi, since Y7 borrows more heavily from his works and his personal life aligns surprisingly well with Arakawa's. They're both actors who are sons of actors, lost their fathers at a young age, were raised by abusive mothers, and ended up with a sort of unlikely father figure in adulthood. So I think it's sweet that Nakai ended up enjoying Arakawa as much as Tsutsumi did Jo. It's kind of funny being more or less typecast as a dad without actually having any children (unlike Tsutsumi), though.
I touched on it a tiny bit before but that's a really insightful take on RGGJo's splintering, as well! And you're most welcome. I've always found it fascinating just how closely their backgrounds tie in to who they end up being. I completely agree having his dad around did a lot for Arakawa in terms of having the confidence to stick to his guns.
But yeah, you know, it's just tragic. I think it's also one of the less talked-about ways abuse can perpetuate itself. Because Jo treating Ichi the way his father may have treated him is sort of the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the topic, but Jo's learned avoidance also goes on to make Arakawa a scapegoat for Aoki's abuse.
I'm always a fan of your takes and insights, so I don't mind the wait: thank you so much for writing as much as you have, it's really wonderful being able to discuss Jo and RGGO v. Y7 as a whole! (I have to be embarrassed about the Daigo's-Age bit though: I'm glad I was able to help point it out, but I remember being so sassy and rude in the post where I mentioned it 😭)
It's great that despite their differences, both Jo's are still incredibly enjoyable; the roles each Jo fulfills, although different, are still executed in ways that keep the character in a close beat with each other, but of course effectively fill out their new purposes in new interesting ways!
As a bit of an aside, I've always been curious and nosy about the full details about New Years Day, 2001 and what happened after that. Anything I can say about the night tiptoes more into theory territory than anything solid, but if we're to go off the notion Masato really did head straight home afterwards, then it is fair to assume Jo had to have met with Arakawa that same night not long after the call in order for Arakawa to be ready to talk to Ichi the same morning (it must have been the biggest shock afterwards for Masato to hear he's gotta run to America if the three of them didn't talk about it together- which I'm assuming is what happened since, as you said, Masato shouldn't be anywhere near cigarettes, and the ash tray is definitely indicative of a stressful discussion). BUT Jo's preexisting devotion to Arakawa (plus the nod to/rework of RGGJo actually attacking a rival gang) nonetheless definitely helped in making their story digestible to the people they had to tell.
The fact Jo and Arakawa interact so little on screen really is unfortunate, even if it's understandable as to why. At the very least, I'm grateful there's so many bits of context clues through the game/s that can at least offer a peak into their dynamic! Segwaying away from that though, I can't lie I was already thinking of some bullet points regarding Jo's brain as I was falling asleep, so it's definitely something I want to put to paper when I get to: I'm glad to hear I have your interest on it when I write it! In that same vein, I'd be more than happy as well to hear about these notes you've seen that can apply not only to Mine, but to the Arakawa family. As you note later on, Mine and Aoki share similar philosophies, so I'd love to see your full take on that if you get to it!
About Mine though, it was really hard for me not to joke about the two being similar whenever the chance arose: I mean, two men who lose their fathers (admittedly, Jo chose to leave his dad but Dad Lost is still a bullet point on the venn diagram... that now I actually feel like taking the time to make later...) turn out to become their respective clan's most trusted asset (and handler of assets) who are volatile when it comes to the ones they care about (I don't have to clarify Mine, but as for Jo, aside from The Eye Scene and even the book wording, he definitely overreacts to Ichi having Masato's money. Of course, part of his anger could be due to his belief in the honor of being a yakuza, but I wouldn't say it's a reach to also assume that the idea of Ichi pestering Masato- if not assuming the worst for whatever reason from Ichiban of all people- might have irked him) and ironically act out in ways that would go against what the ones they care about want (more so strictly about RGGJo, of course)- it's hard not to see the notes borrowed from Mine to make Jo. In that, I do really enjoy their devotions being twists; even if that twist might not work nowadays as efficiently, I'll still enjoy it for what it's able to provide and how it can deepen a character.
To continue on to visual similarities, I actually did notice RGGJo's office being the same as Mine's (I stopped reading for a bit just to make a mini thread about it on my private Twitter)! Whether it was intentional or a simple reuse of assets, it's a great nod to Mine's influence on his character.
As for Y7Jo's office in comparison to Mine's- if I may accidentally go on a bit of an analytical rant- it's a little funny how different they are despite being tangential in wanting a space for companionship (like you mentioned for Jo's case, it might have been for dramatic purposes, but it wouldn't hurt to try and examine the room at face value for a second).
Mine's office is comparatively brighter and more apparently inviting, and it's not just due to the nighttime setting of Jo's office as his office's walls are painted black- but at the same time, the contrast almost feels intentional. Mine's apartment, even if spacious, has the social pieces close to each other, especially in relation to his personal desk. On the flip side, Jo's desk is considerably isolated away from the grand table in the side of the room. In these differences, I think it does lead to a great representation of their relationships with people and what they wanted out of life: with Mine, despite wanting people to be close to him and in his proximity, he's ultimately alone and by himself. On the contrary, Jo appears satisfied with- at least- only having Masato in his life, the second chair undoubtedly being honorary to Arakawa in a similar vein. He isn't too concerned with getting close to anyone else, thus no need for his table set to be so nearby. I could just be talking about nothing though- yet I think these differences is a great way to show how despite inspiration from Mine, they divide off into different characters still (honestly I might steal from this ask and make a separate post about this because now I've gotten myself invested in set design- it can go in the same post as my venn diagram I guess lmao).
Nevertheless, RGGJo and Mine borrowing from each other design wise is also another fun bit- it's as if Yokoyama's grabbing people by the shoulders and practically begging us to realize Jo's influenced by him (don't worry Mr. Yokoyama, I see you). Ergo, Y7Jo and Masato being split from RGGJo is such an interesting take of the two characters: it not only helps highlight Jo's traits it really also heightens Mine's extended influence on Masato (their inability to shoot people standing still is probably going to be a new favorite comparison I hadn't noticed before LMAO).
Moving on though, that lost interview with Nakai and Tsutsumi's going to haunt me now: I'd love to be able to see it, I love actor interviews, especially when the actors featured are already so familiar with each other! It's so sweet how connected the two are- it's what makes it a little more unfortunate that we didn't get to see Jo and Arakawa on screen together more. On that note though, I actually had a similar conclusion that Jo was a solid representation of Tsutsumi's career thus far: his ability to play deep and sentimental characters that have a rough exterior while also possessing some action to the role that he initially sought after in his career really encapsulates his ability as an actor! All in all, I'm glad that Nakai and Tsutsumi were able to have strong connections to their characters in Y7- and I can't really argue against Nakai's dad-typecast: there's just something about him that screams 'father' to me even if, ironically as you said, he isn't a father to any kids.
#long post#fave#snap chats#i have more notes down here hi LMAO#honestly i do wonder what Just A Guy masato wouldve been like.. tho tbf before The Murder masato /was/ kind of Just A Guy#an insecure guy with issues sure but i doubt he wouldve gone on to do anything criminal/abhorrent had it not been for That Night#ah but speaking of That Night and arakawa and jo having to talk about it if always wanted to go into that on my own time#i guess more appropriately put it as portray how i imagine that scene went down but thats somethin i can think of another time#and that reminds me ! absolutely no pressure about the commission btw take all the time you need !#im excited to get to it when you are ready though i wont lie but again it's no pressure! im not going anywhere :)#honestly ill be real somehow with all of the films and movies ive seen i didnt get to catch nakai and tsutsumi together on other projects#i know they starred in Musashi together but i didnt realize their co-starship went deeper!#trying to watch japanese medias so hard sometimes because while most of it i can find easy#trying to find movies like 47 Ronin in Debt was arduous and others like Fly Daddy Fly are just impossible 😷#oh well- that just means i have to be extra grateful for the films i have access to#speaking of tsutsumi's characters' mortalities tho ngl one of my favorite roles he plays is toru from Pure (1996)#and him Spoilers dying via metal pipes still guts me it makes me laugh more than it should ☠️☠️#then there's the 'fakeout' deaths from Meishi Game and Why Don't You Play In Hell#or. at least i /think/ the latter was a fake out.... im p sure hirata's just so delusional he's imagining everyones alive#unimportant tho Again im just prattling down here LMAO#one more thing i wanna ramble on is about how jo and arakawa handle aoki's abuse- and its going back into personal anecdotes oopsie#more specifically on how arakawa becomes the main subject of aoki's anger because jo is considerably more docile#at the very least it reminds me of whenever one of my sisters would be in trouble so they'd dodge home leaving my to get yelled at LMAO#rip RGGJo hes stuck in a coma PLEAAASE truly in nature with a tsutsumi character to just. At the Altar
Starker | Marvel
When Peter gets left at the altar on his wedding day, it's his dad who comes to comfort him. Harry was never a good fit to join the family, anyway. It's always best to keep family to together and to keep outsiders- out. And Tony would do anything for his son.

Peter stared into the mirror. He fixed his tie for the millionth time. Things weren't going to plan, but then again when had they ever gone to plan? He was a Stark after all. Well, sort of. He'd been given his mother's last name much to his father's displeasure. And soon he'd be an Osborn. His dad had a lot of reservations about Harry, but what can you do when you're in love? Peter chewed his lip. What was taking so long?
"You want me to go and check again?" Ned asked. The poor guy looked more nervous than Peter.
"Yeah, go ahead. We were supposed to go out thirty minutes ago. Something has to be wrong."
Ned gave him an extremely fake reassuring smile. "I'm sure it's fine. Probably just a wardrobe malfunction."
"Yeah, sure." Ned left him alone and Peter fixed his tie again. He'd felt so good about today when he woke up that morning. Now his stomach was bubbling with anxiety.
He jumped as the door opened. Ned came back into the room. His face was pale and his eyes were wide.
"Peter..." He started, but a hand grabbed his shoulder. Peter let out a breath at the sight of his father.
"Dad, what's going on?"
Tony came into the room. He gave Ned a deadly look and pushed him back through the door. Then he shut it and locked it behind him. Peter's stomach sank even more.
"Dad?"
His father looked at him with a face that was all too familiar. He had bad news. Peter walked away from the mirror and sat down on the couch. He shook his head.
"No... he can't..."
Tony sighed. "Oh, Petey." He sat down beside him and wrapped his arm around his shoulders, drawing him in. "I'm so sorry, kid. But it's not really all that surprising is it?"
"What do you mean?" Peter rasped through the lump in his throat. He hugged his father's chest.
"You and Harry were never going to work out. You know that. This was always a silly little fling. The whole family knew it."
"Really?"
"He was only marrying you out of pity after all. You're such a clingy, emotional, thing. It must have been too hard for him to let you down easy. Still, it's such an embarrassment. A Stark being turned down? Left at the altar? And at your age as well."
Peter sobbed. He was right. All of this was so shameful, so humiliating. But no matter how hard he shut his eyes it didn't go away. He had wasted so much time with Harry. He thought they were in love. He was so stupid. His dad stroked his back and he curled more into him. Tony kissed the top of his head.
"I guess I have no choice now. What else am I for besides fixing your problems, right?"
Peter nodded. He wanted that. It was embarrassing that he needed his dad to take care of him like this, but he couldn't face the family after all this. But dad always knew what to do. He could make this better.
"What do we do?" he asked. His voice was so embarrassingly small.
"I'll just have to do it won't I? There's no choice really."
Peter sat up and blinked his teary eyes at his father. "Do what, dad?"
His father's hand touched his cheek. "I'll make you mine." Peter sat still and obedient as his father leaned in and kissed his lips. A little noise escaped him, one of pleasure and confusion. He kissed him so tenderly and not at all in the way a father should.
"Daddy?" Peter asked. He couldn't help it. He felt so small, so overwhelmed, so confused.
His father looked at him with only love. "I always take care of you don't I, sweetheart?" Peter nodded. "Then be a good boy and don't question me."
"But what are we doing?"
"We're getting married, baby. The family's all gathered for a wedding. Besides, it's better this way. Family belongs together not with some spineless outsider."
"But..."
"I've already handled all of the paperwork and the family is going to meet us at the reception. Now all that's left is for you to say thank you."
"Thank you, daddy."
Tony stroked his cheek with his thumb. "That's my boy." He leaned in and kissed him again, slowly coaxing him into a deeper kiss, taking over his mouth with lips and tongue. Peter could only do what he was told and it felt good.
His father's hands slid his jacket off his shoulders. He slowly untied his tie. His hands slid down into the waist of his pants and un-tucked his shirt. Then carefully he worked his way up the buttons.
"Daddy," Peter whined again, his nerves were getting to him. He was supposed to marry Harry today and now he was marrying his father? That probably wasn't legal, but he was sure his dad had found a way to make it legal.
"Hush, baby," Tony purred. "Be a good boy."
He let him take off his shirt and push him back on the couch. He spread his legs to let him fit in between. It felt so good when his dad pressed theirs hips together, rubbing against his cock. His hands wrapped around the back of his neck.
Peter moaned when his dad kissed him. Those hands kept working to strip him naked. There was a forbidden edge to it that felt scary, but it was all too easy to be his daddy's good boy and do what he was told.
Tony stripped out of his jacket and let it crumple on the floor. Peter watched, enraptured, as he slid off his belt, popped the button of his slacks, and pulled the zipper down. He reached one hand inside and palmed his cock. Peter whined.
"Do you want to be mine, baby?"
No part of him wanted to admit that out loud, but when he tried to pull Tony back down to distract him with more kisses it was useless. He only sat above him, staring down with a self satisfied smile.
Peter squirmed and chewed his lip. Then he whispered, "Yes, daddy."
"You always want daddy to take care of you. No one else can do it like I do. They can't give you want you need."
Peter shook his head in agreement. "Just you, daddy." He look his dad gave him as he stared down at him all while touching himself, it was objectifying. And thrilling. He could see how much the man wanted him and he wanted it, too.
"Dad, please," he breathed. Tony bent and kissed him again. He fit himself between Peter's thighs. His dad's bare cock touched his hip and he gasped. He felt him reaching around for something, then his hand came back wet and slick. He'd been ready for this, he'd been planning, he should have known. It should have been terrifying. If it frightened him at all, the feeling was buried to deep beneath pleasure. Which is probably exactly what his dad wanted. He knew how to manipulate him. Draw him in until it was too late.
"Are you ready, baby?" Tony looked into his eyes. The tip of his cock pressed against his hole.
Peter nodded his head, "please." He pushed in slowly. Peter's head fell back against the arm of the couch, mind buzzing with the understanding that his dad's dick was inside of him and it felt better than anything he'd ever had.
Tony groaned as he buried himself inside his son, pushing as deep as he could and then some, as if it wasn't enough. "You're mine, Peter. All mine. Tell me."
"I'm yours," Peter gasped, nails digging into his shoulders as he started to move, fucking him deep and hard as if he could get in deeper. It hurt, but felt so fucking good.
Tony kissed his mouth, then his neck, sucking marks into his skin until he squealed. "Who do you belong to?" He growled in his ear.
"You daddy!" Peter gasped. "I belong to my daddy!" He squealed as a hand wrapped around his cock. He pulled Tony down against him, holding on his neck and his shoulders and his back, everywhere his hands could reach. "So close, so close-" he moaned. "Dad, I'm gonna-"
"Do it, baby. That's my good boy."
Peter whined, high and desperate, panting hot against his father's face, foreheads pressed together, losing himself to pleasure as his dad fucked him until he came all but screaming and daddy kept fucking him, wringing him dry until it hurt and he didn't care. He was good and still, whimpering while daddy fucked his hole until he was finished and he came all the way inside him, fucking it deeper for good measure.
Tony kissed him, but Peter's kisses were sleepy and lazy. He felt light headed and sated like when you eat too much. His dad stroked his face and looked down at him with adoration.
"There," he said. "Now everything's right."
Peter nodded. "You always take care of me. Thank you, daddy."
Tony kissed his forehead. "You should rest for a bit. The party can wait."
Peter dug his fingers into his shirt. "Stay."
His dad smiled. "Anything for you, sweetheart." He curled his arms around him and adjusted them on the couch so he could hold him. He pet Peter's hair until he fell asleep and he laid watching his sweet face. He was sure Peter knew, or would realize if he didn't know already. He was smart. And Tony always did what was best for the family. Especially when it came to Peter.
There wouldn't be a body to uncover and Harry's car was already on the way to the crusher, but he'd figure it out. He would understand.

I gotta rant a bit about Loki
I have not seen season 2 of his show, but season one killed my love for MCU Loki
Let's start with the movies. The first two Thor movies are usually regarded as some of the worst MCU films (especially the second), but what I like about them is at least Loki has a consistent character arc throughout them (along with the first Avengers film). Loki learns that he's a part of a race that is treated like monsters on Asgard, and this destroys him. He tries to off himself at the end of the first Thor movie, only to end in the hands of Thanos. He went through so much shit throughout all three of these movies, and Thor 2 ends with him on Asgard's throne, leaving the audience wondering what he will do now he got what he thought he wanted.
Then Thor 3 happened. Look, I like Taika Waititi, and Thor 3 is an enjoyable film, but it destroyed Loki's character arc. He's just a silly guy now. Why does he try to backstab Thor? Because he's silly, no other reason. Plus, after Odin has lied to Loki for his entire life, he tells him that he loves him and magically all that trauma about him being a frost giant is gone! In fact, I think the MCU has forgotten that Loki is a frost giant at all! (Shut up, I know about What If). Ok, but what about the next movie. Thanos has finally come and now Loki can confront the person that gave him the mind stone to take over Earth- and Loki's dead.
I really don't like how they killed Loki. Loki is not a character you kill off to show how dangerous this villain will be. Mostly because the movies had forgotten to finish his character arc, but I guess everyone had forgotten he had one at this point.
Did anyone cry when he died? I sure as hell didn't, and I'm a crybaby when it comes to my faves dying. I was more shocked, and I convinced myself that this was another fake out. Honestly it may seem like cope with all these fans believing that he is still alive, but he has faked his death before, and nobody wanted to believe that his story will end in a dumb way that felt like the writers not believing that he mattered as a character.
But he did, and now we have season 1 of Loki. I honestly thought the writers realized how loved Loki is and they would finally finish his character arc. I mean, the show takes place after Avengers 1, and that's when Loki still hated himself for being a frost giant.
But no, Loki is silly again. Thor 3 has really ruined Loki. I understand that the first 2 Thor movies weren't as beloved, but I loved all the Loki scenes. There's a reason why his character became so popular despite the movies not.
Anyway, the first season of Loki isn't all bad. I love that it gave Loki a friend, and Mobius plays off him really well. And... yeah, I think that's all I like about it.
Now on to everything else. To start off, I really don't like Sylvie x Loki. Not only does it give me incestuous vibes, I really don't think Loki should have a love interest at this point (I don't ship Mobius x Loki too because of this point, but I will admit they have way more chemistry than Sylvie x Loki). But as I said, the writers didn't care about his character arc and so they forced a romance they had no time to build up, leaving me confused on why they had them fall in love in one episode, and ohh boy, the episode is super fucking dumb.
They established that you can do anything in an apocalypse situation and there would be no anomalies detected, SO WHY DOES LOKI AND SYLVIE FALLING IN LOVE CAUSE AN ANOMALY??? Because the plot said so, I love lazy writing in the show with my favorite character!!
God, and there's the queer baiting. Now, I can excuse the train scene because daddy Disney can't have shows say the word bi, but the scene where Loki asks the other Lokis if they ever seen another female Loki, and they say no???? WTF!?!? Is Loki gender fluid or not! Also, this is a stupid ass line that didn't need to be in the show? There are an infinite amount of universes, but only 1 female Loki who got caught by the TVA?? That doesn't make sense!
I'm done with Loki and I'm done with the MCU. The only good MCU show I've seen was WandaVision, and they still botched the ending and had a horrible follow up movie.
I heard Loki season 2 was better, but I still don't know why I should even bother

Reactions and Thoughts For Episode 8 Under the Cut:
Hey, so my initial feeling about the episode honestly is that I'm really disappointed. Hated how the final fight went down. I feel like they handled the whole SB thing badly from the beginning. I feel like they (MM, Starlight and the show itself) put him on the same level of horrific as HL, and I'm sorry, but that just isn't true. (Although I do understand MM's motivations.)
Now SB is a racist, chauvinistic, rage-filled asshole. But HL is all that and a MILLION times worse!! Soldier Boy at least seems human, he's shown restraint a few times. (at least since he's been back from Russia) He has at least paid a debt for his crimes with 40 years of torture. Homelander has done NONE of that!!
Literally, SB may have been manageable, maybe his experiences in Russia changed him a bit. Who knows, but I feel like there was at least some wiggle room with him, somewhere to go. HL has proven time and again that he is incapable of being stopped. He's done every sadistic, horrific thing under the sun, but somehow SB was the one that absolutely had to be taken out?
They could have really used him against HL and from the beginning Starlight and MM acted like HL was just a secondary problem to SB! When it was 100% the other way around.
And what?!!! Butcher and Homelander worked together for a minute against Soldier Boy?
Tumblr media
(x)
I get they were trying to protect Ryan, but I felt like that was kind of out of nowhere too. I didn't feel like HL's sudden, unswerving love for his son was earned. Obviously it's gonna be an easily overturned love too, as soon as Ryan does something HL feels is a "betrayal" he'll try to take him out too.
Anyway, I'm glad SB isn't dead, but I just feel like his character was kind of wasted. I LOVE his character and not just cause I want him to fuck me five ways from Sunday, but because I just think there's SO much more they could do with him.
In my mind the only way to redeem things is if in the end SB and Ryan team up, with the Boys of course and take out HL for good.
Things I really enjoyed about the episode:
Frenchie finally standing up for himself, being awkwardly badass and Kimiko cheering him on. 😍😍
Maeve kicking ass and freeing herself from the van.
Maeve not losing sight of the mission and kicking HL's ass.
Maeve faking her death and getting to go live a powers-free life with Elena.
Ashley helping her get away with it.
Noir's death scene literally made me cry. Obviously he's done some truly awful things too, but I really liked his character, and to watch his little woodland friends comfort him as he died just ripped my heart out. But that whole scene between HL and BN was incredibly well-done.
The scene between Butcher and SB talking about SB's father, and how it shows there's more than one kind of abuse. Jensen's INCREDIBLE acting in that scene.
Hughie making the right decision, not taking the V, and HELPING Starlight instead of trying to save her.
MM's scene with Janine. That was absolutely beautiful and a PERFECT example of what real strength and masculinity looks like. It was truly wonderful, when Janine puts her hand over his to help stop the ticks, and says, "You're my hero, Daddy." Ugh!!! ALL the tears! 😭😭😭
This line from Hughie when he's talking about his Dad, "He wasn't weak. I just...I didn't know what strength was." Truth. Hughie speaking absolute truth!
Starlight officially joining the boys, although I've disagreed with her and found her incredibly frustrating for most of the season. 😄😄
I've loved this season, overall, and even though I didn't like what went down in the end (If we need more proof that they went after the wrong fucking Supe, we can look to HL's actions in the final scene and the beginning of Ryan's corruption!) I'm still VERY excited for next season. I'm worried about Butcher, of course. I feel like the only way to save him might be to give him real V. Which will be an interesting dilemma for him! And we've got Neuman as the candidate for VP, yikes!!
So, bring on S4.

Seeing your brother’s bike, you pull into the clubhouse. Taking a deep breath, because Bucky’s bike is also there, and you have no desire to talk to him since that argument. Trying to take the avoid him route, and that was proving to be more difficult to do than you had hoped.
Walking into the clubhouse, you’re on high alert. Your eyes twitching around in search of Steve, to no avail. Walking down the hallway to his room, thinking maybe he bunked here, you spot those silvery blue eyes, and are ready to leave.
Stopping in your tracks, you go to turn, but think better of it, marching past Bucky, who nearly takes up the entire hallway. Looking in Steve’s room, and he’s still not there. Pouting a bit, before you know what has to be done, “Where’s Steve?”
“You’re actually talking to me? Did daddy forbid you to speak to me?”
You sigh, shaking your head no, “I don’t want a fight, JB. I want Steve.”
“And I want to talk.”
“You’re holding my brother hostage, so we can talk? There’s nothing to talk about. It was a mistake. All of it. Every bit of it was always a mistake, and the biggest regret of my life.”
His large frame starts to walk past you, but freezes right beside your body. Feeling so small next to the beefy man. Bucky counts his breath, “He’s not here. That’s why we can talk.”
“He’s not here?” you back up glaring at him, “Heaven forbid Stevie finds out you fucked his little sister so good, you knocked her up. And even then you still couldn’t be man enough to tell them what we were doing. A scared coward.”
“We’re gonna do this, huh? I wasn’t the coward here, Doll, you were. You begged me not to tell your dad. Begged me not to tell Steve.”
“And you were relieved. I said that because that’s what I thought you wanted. God, I just want someone to think of me before they do themselves. And if you dare bring Ari into this, I’ll slap that smug face again. I’m just fucking Ari.”
“Then what were we doing?” you have to laugh so you don’t cry. Have to look away from him because it hurts so much.
“If I have to tell you, then I really didn’t mean anything to you. Where’s my brother?”
“The diner,” you head towards the door, and Bucky clears his throat, “He’s with that girl. He goes there almost everyday during her shift. He doesn’t want people to know, because he doesn’t want her in this life.”
“Right. Fine. I’ll just go…” you rack your brain, trying to figure out where you’ll go with no success. “I’ll go.”
“Doll,” you pause your walk, but don’t turn to look at him, “You meant everything to me. I wanted that baby.”
“We didn’t need a baby, JB. We were young and dumb. We had no business getting involved. Let’s just pretend it never happened,” before he can say another word, you bolt out the door. Getting in your car, you peel out of the clubhouse parking lot. Blaring your music, and let your emotions take over.
Lying to yourself was a lot harder than lying to him. But you were bound and determined to make the both of you believe that it never really mattered.
Bucky stares at your retreating body, before picking up a chair, launching it through the bar area. His voice wailing out, “FUUUUCK!”
Looking at the insignificant mess it made, he lays his hand on the bar, scraping every bit of it off, before heading to his bike. Needing to be anywhere, but here.
Tumblr media
You come back to the clubhouse, thankfully it was empty, except for Ari. His glistening black bike, almost just as sexy as him. Faking a smile, you prance into the clubhouse, only to halt your movements. Ari in the shadows, minus the glow coming from his cigarette, and the bar was a disaster. Shards of broken glass, and a few chairs kicked out of place.
“Did you have a fucking temper tantrum?”
“Me?” you ask, your voice going up in pitch. “I didn’t fucking do this.”
“You know, if you want my attention, all you gotta do is get on your knees, or spread your goddamn legs.”
“I didn’t do this, Ari.”
“You told me you were going to the clubhouse. I come here, and you’re gone, but the mess you made is still here,” rolling your eyes, you shake your head no, starting to turn and leave, “Don’t you fucking dare touch that door. Clean this shit up.”
“Why don’t you tell Bucky to clean this up. He was here when…” eyes going wide, you shut up quickly.
“Go on, finish the sentence, Darling. You were here alone with Bucky, weren’t you? Did he have fun playing with what was mine.”
“He didn’t touch me.”
“He has though, hasn’t he? How many times has he touched you. Can you count?” solemnly you stand there, while he has his little pout. “You’re going to clean this shit up, and I suggest you hurry. You wouldn’t want your father to catch you wearing this,” he holds up a cheap flimsy little French maid’s costume, and you start to back up.
“You want to act like a brat? Fine, you’re about to see daddy be the asshole. Get fucking dressed, so I can enjoy you cleaning up every bit of this. And it won’t go on your check. But, if you do a good job, I promise, daddy’ll make you cry on his cock.”
With slow methodical steps, you walk closer to Ari, yanking the costume out of his hands, before walking towards his room, “Eh eh eh. Come on, Darling. I have seen every inch of you. I’ve sucked on that sweet little clit. Nearly bathed in your juices, your changing where I can enjoy the show. Better hurry. Your father and Stevie took a few men on a short run. I’d hate for Stevie to see his slut sister’s cunt being stuffed by me.”
“You can drop that.”
His hand flies up to your cheeks, fingers digging into your skin as he grips you tightly, “Then maybe you should learn how to behave,” moving his hand to cup your mound, he sighs, “If you don’t like it, why are you heated and throbbing? You know why you like our relationship? And enjoy calling me daddy? Joseph won’t pay any attention to his sweet little doll. She’s to be seen not heard. If you want him to pay attention, we can get it.”
Without answering you remove your clothes. Standing completely nude in front of him, before putting on the costume. Once dressed you set to cleaning up the mess, you’re sure Bucky made. Gritting your teeth with every item you pick up.
Ari takes a seat close enough to watch, leaning to the side every time you bend over to get a little peek at your glistening folds. His hand palming himself over his leather pants, and you try not to look. Try not to crave the attention that he gives you. Failing at nearly every obstacle. You just want him. Want someone to know. Want someone to care, even if they yell. Telling you how disappointed they are in both of you. You had been trying for that for a long time, and they never did.
Sweeping up the final pile of debris, Ari curls his finger up at you, beckoning you over to him. His fist holding his thick length and you feel your knees buckle. Starting to crawl in his lap, but he tsks you. Stopping your movement.
“Do you deserve for me to fuck you right here in the open?”
“Yes daddy, I cleaned up this mess, and it wasn’t even mine. Gave you little looks of my sweet pussy.”
“You did, but you also acted like a complete brat. I don’t want to always be so hard on you. But you thrive on it don’t you?” biting your lip, you nod your head.
“Let’s feel how sticky you are. How much that snatch is begging to be stretched out,” his fingers roam through your folds, and you whimper as his thick digits, toy at your entrance, “Was it the cleaning or knowing how hard I was getting that made you this wet? This pretty little pussy is leaking out on your thighs. Such a needy little cunt that just wants me to destroy her. Look at you, you can’t even hold your eyes open when I talk about how sloppy you are. She’s aching and begging for me to stretch her out, huh? Well, come on, come sit in daddy’s lap, and let me make you see stars. I want you facing away from me. That way if someone comes in they can see how pretty you are when you’re bouncing on my cock.”
Backing up on Ari, he adjusts you to where your straddling him. His thighs keeping you nice and spread. Guiding you over his length, before destroying the top of the costume. Your tits rippling with every bounce on him. His fingers stimulating your clit, as you look back at him.
“Such a mess for me. How does this dumb little doll get anything done when all she wants is for someone to fill her holes and tell her how pretty she is. And you are. You’re beautiful when I’m balls deep in this tight little snatch.”
Pupils blown wide with lust, with the dangerous position you’re caught in. There is no denying that Ari controlled your pussy. His mouth moves around you to bite at your exposed breasts. Moving up to capture your lips in a heated kiss.
Both of you swallowing the others sweet sounds, but they’re still not good enough for him. Giving your tits a hard slap, and then he slaps hard at your clit. Your legs spread so wide, and he just continues slapping along your cute little bean.
“So pretty, so fucking pretty,” he pants on your moth. Pulling back so he can watch you become cockdrunk on him. Eyes closing, feeling him fuck up into you. His possessive eyes smiling as Bucky opens and closes the door the moment he sees you. Opting to stay outside for a cigarette.
“I think your boy toy finally gets it.”
“What,” your voice pants out. Your belly heating up, and you try to close your legs, “He saw you. This should do the trick.”
“Ari,” you whine, getting another slap to your cunt. “Daddy, I hear them,” that distant roar of the caravan of motorcycles. “Daddy, please, don’t.”
“Isn’t that what you want? Everyone to know whose whore you are?” you’re unsure about that. Mostly just for Ari to be a man, and let your dad know. “They’re getting closer. Better make me cum.”
Your body bounces over him, cunt clenching on him hard, when thankfully you feel the rush of his heated seed, “Good girl,” he whispers on your skin. “Get yourself cleaned up. Everyone is about to be here.”
He nearly throws you off of him, as you gather your clothes. His own thick hands stuffing himself back in his pants, when Steve’s voice screams in the clubhouse, “Fuck! Get a space cleaned!”
“What the hell?” Ari asks, backing away from his president spurting blood out of his mouth. “Joseph? What?”
“It’s you, now,” he coughs out. “Stevie, you’re VP.”
“Dad, stop. Bucky, where’s my sister?”
“Stevie, take care of her. She needs,” he looks out into the distance when you come rushing in, rushing to pull your clothes on as you round the corner. His eyes blank as he takes his dying breath. Steve covered in your father’s blood, slams his fist down on the table.
“Daddy? Daddy, no. No! Steve, what…” unable to finish your thought when he stomps out the door. Standing there confused. Looking between Bucky and Ari, before running out of the clubhouse yourself. Never looking back at the many yells of your name.
Needing to get away. Wishing you had the chance to say goodbye. Wishing that you were there, or anything.
Curtis slams Ari up against the wall, “Where the hell were you? They came from nowhere. And you just happened to be here?”
“Bucky was here, too,” Bucky snorts out a laugh, turning to walk out the door. Unsure if he needs to search for you or Steve. Having an idea of just where Steve was going to, “Now look at him. Where are ya goin’, JB?”
“Our VP needs us,” he smirks. “Why were you here? Always someone is left behind. I was that someone. What’s your excuse.”
“Don’t worry about Steve, he’s a big boy,” Sam speaks up. “Bring her home,” Ari lets out an annoyed grunt, “Don’t even start,” he rounds back towards Ari, “We’ve been keeping your dirty secret from Stevie and Joseph long enough. Time for you to come clean, if you’re going to be president. Bucky, go find, Doll.”
“No problem,” he wants to gloat, wants to rub it in Ari’s face that he wasn’t being so secretive. But right now, he knows that you don’t need anger. You need touch. You need comfort, and he has an idea of just where to find you.

There was an unspoken rule no one talked about in Wolf Trap, yet everyone knew.
If you need help, go to Dr. Lecter.
Which is why a broken, bloody, nineteen year old Will Graham goes directly to him kills his abusive father. From that moment forward Will Graham pledged his allegiance to Dr. Lecter, even as he pined deeply to be closer to him and kept himself at a distance.
He had no idea that ten years later he’d be part of Hannibal’s inner circle, and in his bed.
The story of how he got there, well, that’s a very interesting indeed.

Will Graham was thirty one years old, unmated, and shockingly…unpresented.
It made for a very bleak dating history, mostly people who wanted to trigger his presentation and ended up extremely disappointed or angry they didn’t.
So when he decided to just give it up for good and live his life alone he was a little sad but resigned to his fate. Then fate pushed him in another direction when in the midst of seeing the debut of prima ballerina Hannibal Lecter, the most gorgeous omega he’s ever seen - he goes into a rut and presents as alpha.
Will can’t stop thinking about Hannibal, aching to see him again, and knows it’s not possible he ever will.
Until he goes to get coffee and there with car trouble is Hannibal.
Is this fate?
Or is the universe just playing a cruel joke on him?
And....is Hannibal an omega way out of his league or...his true mate?

Hannibal chose the father of his child by three categories: intelligence, attractiveness, and family lineage. He had many men in mind, strong candidates of all kinds, and was quite ready to lure one of them, Cam Winston, into bed for what was to be little more than an insemination.
Then, of course, as he pulled into the gas station only mere miles from Cam Winston’s home at just after nine o’clock, he saw the most beautiful alpha he’d ever seen in his entire life.

Soon he’s listening to all “This is My Design” has ever recorded and falling in love with the voice of the singer, a beautiful young man named Will Graham. When they share a chance encounter it changes both their lives in more ways than one.

I am possessed once more by the urge to write a French Revolution SOC AU
So here are some thoughts
Kaz is a student at a university and he's very liberal. Very radical. He doesn't come from old money, his brother built everything they have up from the ground and then died in time just to see Kaz get accepted to Paris University. Kaz does philosophy and government and he despises the other boys in his class. Snobby, old money, pompous daddy's boys who're throwing away their family's money, waiting to inherit. He can't stand the noble class or the corruption in it and wants something to change
Wylan is also a student at Paris University. He does Music but Chemistry was his first choice. He didn't get it because he was illiterate. He comes from old money, he's the poster boy for it. Van Eck is one of the richest aristocrats in France and Wylan can't stand it. He's always looked down upon, the "soft Van Eck spare" since his baby brother was born. He's not soft, though, and he won't accept his father's money forever, he won't be dependent on him. He's set up a business selling ammo and demo to revolutionaries who need it. He's a radical himself and agrees largely with a lot of the sentiments he's hearing. This is how he meets Kaz. Kaz has more of the vision but Wylan has the initiative (and money) to make it happen
Jesper is a jaded veteran-turned-prisoner. He was dishonourably discharged, couldn't get work, turned to daylight robbery and got caught. Now, he's out on parole and a thorough enemy of the establishment. He's waist deep in debt, looking for easy money and looking for a way to get back at the people who discharged and then imprisoned him. So, when two students approach him with a bag of cash, promise of more and promise of a revolution, who is he to say no?
Inej is a street criminal trying to pay off her debts. She came to France illegally and is now constantly on the run from a certain Tante who demands her money back with interest. She knows the system's rigged, she's proof of it, and she doesn't want anyone else going through the same shit she did. She'll die before she allows anyone else to become indentured again
Nina wants to see change. She's plainly bored. Dangerously bored. She wants change to happen in France. She doesn't care whether it's for better or worse, ever since her lover supposedly died in a prison riot, nothing's been able to stir her blood. She's more than willing to die, just to feel some danger in her blood. She does have more liberal beliefs about how France should be run but she's honestly a nihilist, plain and simple (obviously she gets character development but shhhh for now)
Matthias was a prison guard. He killed two men in a prison brawl and his captain Jarls Brum congratulated him on it and promoted him. However, Matthias Helvar himself had to disappear, his death faked, his headstone bearing an empty coffin. Matthias is now commander of his own regiment but the corruption leaves a bitter taste in his mouth every day. So, when he gets calls of revolutionaries with makeshift barricades, he goes out alone. He's ready to become a mole if he has to to ensure that the corruption in France's police department is rooted out and destroyed
Honestly bestie you're starting to get me on board with this 👀
Kaz is spot on (I am curious to see Kaz post Jordie's death when he's older 👀👀👀👀)
INEJ'S ONE IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT I LOVE IT (she's such a noble badass I love her sm 🙏)
Inej and Jesper both have debts 👀 (obvy for dif reasons but still that is intriguing)
DAMN I kind of like what You're doing with Nina I am actually down for this 👀 (incorporating some of her addictness from canon due to Juda Perem but for adrenaline more You're so smart bestie)
Nina thinks Matthias is dead 🥺
I FUCKING LOVE MATTHIAS' IT'S PERFECT????????
Bestie I need Helnik in this so bad you set them up soooo good 🥺🙏👀
And Wylan and Jesper are nowhere to be found /jkjkjkjk
WAIT I JUST REREAD AND I SKIPPED WYLAN AND JESPER WTF 😂 (then again this morning I tried to get a duster out of the pantry, where we do not keep dusters, so, you know)
I absolutely adore Wylan sticking it to his father, bestie. And the time period was done well with Wylan not getting in 😔
Kaz: I hate old money people. They're such snobs and they're so annoying
Wylan, who is old money: Hi I'd like to dismantle the government. And I have bombs.
Kaz: Kaz Brekker, nice to meet you-
VET JESPER VET JESPER BECAUSE HE'D BE SO GOOD WITH HIS GUNS AND IT'S SO GOOD TO EXPLAIN HIS IMPULSIVENESS AHHH
Bestie I love this sm (ignoring the fact they're all going to die but shhhh)(The radicals did well in the beginning and not so well in the end but the crows would be radicals tbh)

pairings: john murphy x fem!oc, bellamy blake x fem!oc ( slowburn )
warnings: best friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, swearing, daddy issues, minor character deaths, nothing major/graphic yet
series masterlist
a/n: I've made some changes to the story so I chose to delete all the chapters I've posted here and just republish everything again. expect updates coming every monday and friday!
Gabriella Kane never knew peace.
At least not in this stupid metal box that sucked all of her will to live right out of her.
It has been ninety-seven years since the nuclear apocalypse killed everyone on Earth and left the planet simmering in radiation. Unfortunately for Gabriella Kane, there were survivors. Twelve nations had operational space stations at the time of the bombs. The only station left was called The Ark. Everyone was told the Earth needed another hundred years to become survivable again. That meant there were supposed to be four more space-locked generations until the human race could go home, back to the ground.
And that was what Gabriella always wanted.
To go down to Earth and finally be free from The Ark and Jaha's rules. If people knew better they would think she's your typical spoiled brat from Alpha Station. Since her father was Marcus Kane. But they knew better
Gabriella got arrested at the age of seventeen along with her best friend John Murphy for setting fire to a guard's room. She knew that if they were found out they would get arrested. And every person that commits any type of crime would be punished by death, if they were underage they'd get executed as soon as they turned eighteen. But Gabriella didn't have much to lose. She and Murphy met around the age of fifteen and they soon became inseparable. By the time she turned sixteen, she stopped hanging out with her privileged friends and only hung out with him and some kids from Mecha Station who worked with her.
She has spent years reading books about the Earth and looking down at it through the windows. She always wanted to feel what the ground felt like beneath her feet and how the rain would feel on her skin.
That was her dream.
But her reality? Today was her eighteenth birthday and she was supposed to be floated any time soon.
Gabriella has been in the sky-box for more than a year, only being allowed outside so she could attend classes. Even then, she was usually separated from Murphy, something she was sure her father made sure of.
There were a lot of things she realized while locked up. The first one was that she was pretty much in love with her best friend and the second one...she hated her father more than she originally thought.
Surprisingly, Gabriella didn't really care that she was gonna get floated today. To her, it just meant she wouldn't have to stare at The Ark walls until she died from old age. The bonus was if Marcus Kane was the one who was supposed to press the button. First doing it to his wife and then his daughter.
It would be ironic really.
And because of that, she didn't fight when the guards barged into her room. She just raised an eyebrow, put the knife she was previously twirling around in her hands, and tucked it in the old boots she was wearing. For extra measure.
"Prisoner 3-2-4, face the wall."
She did as she was told hearing the other guard say, "Hold out your right arm."
Gabriella furrowed her eyebrows, she was pretty sure that wasn't how the procedure is supposed to go, "I get it if you're into some kinky shit but I'm supposed to be getting floated, not reenact Fifty Shades of Grey."
The guards ignored her and one of them stepped forward to grab her arm, putting a metal wristband around her wrist. She felt a sting in her arm but didn't want to give them the satisfaction of wincing so she kept glaring at them.
She quickly grew confused when she saw her father walk in but that confusion shifted into anger at his blank expression.
"Came here to gloat?" she barked out but her father didn't seem affected by the venom in her voice.
Kane shook his head and placed his hands on her shoulders, "Listen to me closely. You are not being floated. You are being sent to the ground. All one hundred of you."
Gabriella furrowed her eyebrows, "What the hell are you talking about? It's not safe yet. Not for another four generations."
She saw her father's face fall before he leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on her forehead, the action making her blink in surprise, "Take care of yourself."
And then everything went black.
-
When Gabriella finally opened her eyes she was strapped to a chair in a dropship with ninety-nine other delinquents. She looked around in alarm, soon finding herself face to face with a smirking blue-eyed boy who sat opposite her.
"John? Where are we?"
"Hell." He stated with an amused smirk.
She rolled her eyes and sat up more, "Explains you being here."
Murphy's smirk slowly turned into a genuine smile, "I missed you too, Ellie."
Gabriella tried to fight back a smile but failed miserably, "Of course you did. I'm awesome. What's not to miss?"
The only response she got was a breathy chuckle before the dropship lights flickered and a crash was heard. Murphy sat up straight with a slightly panicked look on his pale face, "What the hell was that?"
Trying to suppress a groan at the situation she found herself in, the Kane girl simply responded, "The atmosphere."
Murphy didn't even have time to react since the monitor turned on revealing a video with Thelonious Jaha on it, "Prisoners of The Ark, hear me now. You've been given a second chance. And as your Chancellor, it is my hope that you see this as not just a chance for you but a chance for all of us. Indeed for mankind itself. We have no idea what's waiting for you down there. If the odds of survival were better we would've sent others. Frankly, we're sending you because your crimes have made you expendable."
Gabriella and Murphy both wore similar scowls when they looked back at each other.
"Your dad's a dick, Wells!" a male voice yelled, making Gabriella look around in confusion.
Wells was here?
She scoffed to herself and turned to look at Murphy "I can't believe Jaha would actually send his own son down here to die."
He huffed "Nothing surprises me anymore."
"Your crimes will be forgotten and records wiped clean. The drop site has been chosen carefully. Before the Last War, Mount Weather was a military base built within a mountain. It was to be stocked with enough non-perishables to sustain 300 people."
Gabriella tuned out the rest of his speech once she saw a familiar boy floating around the dropship.
"Spacewalker bandit strikes again!"
The teenager floated straight towards her as other delinquents kept cheering him on "Long time no see, Ella."
Gabriella and Finn have known each other for a while now. They met through their mutual friend Raven and stayed friends mainly through her but Gabriella wouldn't say she was close to the boy.
She still grinned cooly at him and nodded "Hey, Collins. I heard all about your spacewalk back in the sky-box."
"I'm popular even in jail. What a surprise." he joked making her chuckle lightly while he continued floating around.
"Mount Weather is life. You must locate those supplies immediately. You have one responsibility, stay alive."
In a flash, Finn and the two boys who followed him out of their seats crashed to the floor and the dropship started speeding, lights flickering even more.
"We are so gonna die!" Gabriella faintly heard her best friend panic over the loud noise in the crowded dropship.
"Everything here is over a hundred years old. Give it a minute to start working." the blonde snapped in return but gripped his hand tightly nonetheless.
There was a loud crash telling them the dropship landed and everyone slowly caught their breath. Gabriella looked around to see if she could spot any familiar faces before she let go of Murphy's hand and let out a sigh.
"Listen. No machine hum." a familiar voice was heard and Gabriella smiled to herself already recognizing who the voice belonged to.
She unbuckled her seatbelt and faintly heard another voice add a sarcastic 'well that's a first' but didn't have time to process who it belonged to because she worriedly rushed over to stand next to Finn who was hovering above the two unconscious boys on the floor.
"Finn, is he breathing?" she asked, putting an arm on his shoulder. The girl let out a sigh when he shook his head and looked towards the stairs leading to the bottom floor.
Murphy grabbed her wrist and nodded towards the door getting a nod in return. As the pair got to the first floor, they heard a familiar female voice call out, "We can't just open the doors!"
"Just back it up guys!" a deep male voice yelled causing Gabriella to furrow her eyebrows. She made her way to the front of the crowd to see an older guy dressed in a guard's uniform that made her narrow her eyes.
"Stop! The air could be toxic!" the same girl yelled as she made her way to the front, not aware her ex-best friend was standing a few steps next to her.
"If the air's toxic we're all dead anyway." the man in the guard's uniform simply shrugged.
It was obvious Clarke was about to argue but a voice from the back interrupted with a soft, "Bellamy?"
His head snapped to the sound of the female voice and his features completely softened once she walked in front of him. "Oh my, God. Look how big you are."
They exchanged a heartfelt hug that made Gabriella's eyes slightly soften. She knew who the girl was. Everyone did. But she actually remembered her from a few of her classes. The girls were not really friends but they talked a few times. It was enough to know she was a good kid.
"What the hell are you wearing?" the raven-haired girl asked, pointing to his jacket. "A guard's uniform?"
"I borrowed it to get in the dropship. Someone's gotta keep an eye on you." he told her quietly but the people at the front could still hear the conversation.
Gabriella turned around to whisper to Murphy with a small smirk, "So he is not a real guard. Which means we are gonna have freedom until The Ark comes down."
The boy mirrored her smirk. "You mean if they come down."
The duo snapped out of their little bubble when the siblings shared another hug which Clarke interrupted with another one of her unnecessary questions, "Where's your wristband?"
Way to ruin the moment Clarke. Gabriella thought with a bitter scowl on her face, a contrast to the easy-going look she was sporting before.
"Do you mind? I haven't seen my brother in a year." Octavia snapped, making the Kane girl smirk at her attitude. She already liked her.
That sentence was enough to make the crowd start whispering and Octavia quickly snapped her attention to them. The young girl was about to lunge forward but her brother held her back, leaning down to whisper, "Hey, let's give them something else to remember you by."
"Yeah, like what?"
Bellamy grinned at his annoyed sister, "Like being the first person on the ground in a hundred years."
"Ninety-seven." Gabriella corrected under her breath and heard her male best friend let out a faint chuckle.
The older Blake either did not hear her comment or chose to ignore her correction. He turned his back on the impatient crowd of delinquents and reached for the lever, opening the doors and making them come face to face with planet Earth. Bellamy made everyone get behind so Octavia could walk out on her own. She took a few small steps and breathed the air in, then made her way to the bottom of the door and finally stepped on the ground to yell "We're back bitches!"
Gabriella watched as the delinquents made their way outside while jumping around and cheering. She turned to look at Murphy who was standing behind her and watching her with a small smile. "Ladies first."
The blonde chuckled before slowly stepping down the door and breathing in the fresh air that made her smile. She looked around at the trees and flowers all around her and her smile grew impossibly larger. She was on Earth.
Before she actually stepped on the ground she turned back at Murphy and offered him her hand, "Together?"
He nodded and took her hand. "Together."
The pair took a step down and stood firmly on the ground. Gabriella turned around to look at Murphy but before she could think about saying anything he wrapped his arms around her waist and held her tight, spinning her a little in the process.
She squealed in surprise but didn't hesitate to hug the boy back, "Yeah, yeah, I missed you too."
-
"I think this is the best gift you could have gotten today." Murphy announced with a grin.
Gabriella faked a disappointed expression. "I mean I'd really prefer getting floated over being here with you but a girl can dream right?"
"Ouch." he mocked hurt, making her chuckle.
"You, mind?" A voice echoed through the camp, making the pair turn their attention to the dropship door where Wells just pushed a boy with goggles back. Gabriella recognized the boy as Jasper Jordan and the way the chancellor's son pushed him back made her blood boil.
"Hey!" The blonde called as she walked up to them with John and a few other delinquents behind her, "Back off, Chancellor Junior. He's with us."
"We're just trying to figure out where we are." He defended himself, making her scoff.
"We're on the ground. That not good enough for you?" A male voice from behind them asked.
Gabriella turned around to see it was Bellamy with his sister right next to him. Wells followed her gaze and said, "We need to find Mount Weather. You heard my father's message. That has to be our first priority."
"Screw your father." Octavia sneered, joining the discussion, "What? You think you're in charge here? You and your little princess?"
Gabriella nodded with a smirk which dropped into a scowl once again as her blonde ex-best friend spoke up, "You think we care who's in charge? We need to get to Mount Weather. Not because the Chancellor said so, but because the longer we wait, the hungrier we'll get and the harder this will be. How long do you think we'll last without those supplies? We're looking at a twenty-mile trek, okay? So if we wanna get there before dark, we need to leave. Now."
The Kane girl cleared her throat to bring everyone's attention to her and stepped closer, "Or you and your little boyfriend can go and do the hard work since you care about getting there so much. I don't know about you Princess, but we took Earth Skills for a reason. We don't need to do what Jaha says anymore. But you heard him, we're on the ground now, which means we're on our own."
Bellamy looked at the girl with a smirk before turning to look at Clarke and agreeing, "She's right. We should let the privileged do the hard work for a change."
There were sounds of agreement coming from the criminals around them, but Clarke didn't hear them since she was completely focused on the Kane that just told her off. The girls have not spoken in what felt like ages. They were inseparable since they were kids but Clarke just started pulling away and Gabriella didn't know what else to do so she just let her go. Neither of them made any effort to reconnect; with Clarke basically ghosting her and with Gabriella not wanting to put effort into a one-sided friendship.
"You're not listening. We all need to go." Wells yelled pleadingly, but Murphy cut him off by pushing him back.
"Look at this, everybody. It's the chancellor of Earth."
Gabriella chuckled at her best friend's words and crossed her arms over her chest with a small amused smirk.
"You think that's funny?"
The only response that Wells got was Murphy pushing him back further. He stumbled before he fell to the ground and twisted his ankle in the process. Murphy chuckled under his breath, "No, but that was."
Wells quickly got off the floor, stumbling a bit because of his foot. The boys got ready to fight before a male figure jumped from the dropship and between them. Gabriella only realized that that was Finn when he faced Murphy with a challenging look on his face and spoke up, "The kid's got one leg. How about you wait until it's a fair fight?"
Gabriella raised an eyebrow at the boy and shrugged. "Or Griffin here, could keep her dog on a leash and do us all a favour."
Wells made a show of scowling at her but Clarke couldn't find herself meeting her gaze and kept looking at the floor.
"Hey, Spacewalker." Octavia broke the argument by stepping closer to Finn and giving him a flirty look, "Rescue me next."
Finn grinned at the younger girl while Gabriella rolled her eyes and grabbed Murphy's arm, preparing to walk away. But before she did, she gave Jasper and Monty ( who barely took their eyes off of her since she stepped into the conversation ) a toothy grin, "Good to see you boys too."
The two best friends grinned as they watched her walk away, excited that one of their closest friends was there too.
-
Gabriella was distracted watching Clarke and Finn gather their group for Mount Weather so she didn't notice a taller male figure come up behind her.
"You're not going? I thought you were gonna be the first to sign up?"
The blonde snapped her head to the source of the voice and quickly tackled the taller male in a hug "Sam? What the hell are you doing here?"
Sam Sydney was Gabriella's oldest friend and the only childhood friend she kept in touch with. He may didn't like the fact that she was hanging out with people like John Murphy but they still kept hanging out. Murphy's dislike for him had more to do with the fact that Sam always had a thing for her than the fact that he was one of the privileged. But he never said anything about it so he remained her only friend from Alpha.
He grinned teasingly, "I thought you'd be happy to see me."
"I am! It's just ── how the hell did you get arrested?" she asked, pulling away.
"I helped Wells burn the last Ark tree. I wanted to keep an eye on you and you know Wells goes wherever Clarke goes, even now that she hates his guts." he shrugged with a smirk, "You still didn't answer my question."
"What do you want me to do? Go on a day trip with Clarke? Willingly?" she shook her head and scoffed, "Someone's gotta keep things here in place. And I'll be damned if that turns out to be the fake guard."
"Someone doesn't handle authority well." Sam said, knowingly.
Gabriella pursed her lips with a shrug. "Depends on who it is. But that guy is up to something and I'm gonna figure out what it is. I'll see you around." She gave him one last grin before walking away.
-
"Find any water yet?" Murphy asked as he, Gabriella, and Mbege walked up to Wells, who was gathering wood for the fire.
"Not yet." He looked up. "I'm going back out if you wanna come."
He turned around to continue what he was doing but the words on the drop ship caught his attention:
"First son first to dye"
Gabriella figured Murphy and Mbege wrote that while she left them alone and couldn't help but chuckle at the terrible spelling. Murphy rubbed his nose with the hand that was still holding the knife he carved the writing in the dropship with, before he spoke coldly "You know, my father, he begged for mercy in the air-lock chamber when your father floated him."
Wells ignored his words and started walking off, bumping their shoulders together when he brushed passed him and huffing, "You spelled die wrong, geniuses."
Gabriella crossed her arms over her chest as she watched Wells walk away, addressing the two boys next to her with a ghost of a smirk, "That kid is gonna be easy to break."
"If you're gonna kill someone, it's probably best not to announce it."
The blonde turned around to see Bellamy standing in front of them. She narrowed her blue eyes at his uniform before letting them connect with his own. "Just trying to scare him a bit. There is no need to take any drastic measures yet."
Murphy nodded and chuckled, him too eying the guards uniform Bellamy was wearing. "You're not really a member of the Guard, are you?"
"No. The real Guard will be here soon unless we stop it. You don't actually think they're gonna forgive your crimes?" Bellamy crossed his arms over his chest, "Even if they do, then what? People like us, we're gonna become citizens now? Get jobs? If we're lucky, maybe pick up their trash."
Gabriella looked at him with narrowed eyes before letting a small smirk ghost her lips. For some reason, he didn't want The Ark to come down. But it wasn't for the reason he was telling them. He must've done something so fucked up to get down here. The Ark would probably kill him instantly if they found him on the ground with the hundred. She doubted that his sneaking onto that ship was legal. Especially since he was not an actual guard.
"You got a point?" Mbege snapped, getting impatient listening to his mocking.
"No. I have a question. They locked you up, dumped you down here like lab rats to die. So why are you helping them?" Bellamy questioned, faking curiosity.
"The hell we are."
"You're wearing those bracelets aren't you?" he taunted, "Those things are telling them whether or not it's safe to follow us down."
"Okay, so you said we could stop it. How?" Murphy asked, making his best friend raise an eyebrow at him. She couldn't believe he was really buying this bullshit.
"Take them off. The Ark will think you're dead. That it isn't safe to follow. You follow?"
"Right." Murphy grinned. "And if we do, I mean what's in it for us?"
Bellamy's smirk grew at how easy it was to get them to follow along with his plan. "Someone's gotta help me run things." His attention quickly turned to the girl in the group and he added, "Especially you. They seem to listen to you. You're from Alpa, right? But you are still one of them."
"Oh, I know they listen to me." Gabriella lifted her chin up to meet his gaze, "But I'm not gonna be using that to help you."
She had two options. She could take the wristband off and piss her father off which was getting exhausting since she realized he stopped caring a long time ago, and she could keep the wristband on and piss Bellamy off. The second option seemed much more appealing at the moment. She could always take the wristband off when she got bored.
Bellamy raised an eyebrow "And why is that?"
Gabriella turned to the two Johns behind her and motioned for them to leave them alone. Once they walked away far enough so they were out of earshot, she turned back to Bellamy.
"I don't know if you already realized this, Blake, but I don't do well with authority." She stepped closer so they were almost chest-to-chest. "I don't know what you did to get down here. But unless you get out of my way, I won't hesitate to find out. You aren't one of us and it's only a matter of time until they realize that. It's obvious you're only here to protect your little sister. You don't actually care about any of us. I get that. You're her big brother and that is what you are supposed to do. But I'm also pretty sure there's another reason you don't want The Ark to come down here." She swore she saw a flash of fear in his eyes which he instantly tried to cover up with anger. Her smirk grew and she tilted her head. "I'd be extra nice to me down here, Blake. Haven't you heard that a foreign king usually ends up dead?"
Bellamy narrowed his eyes, his jaw clenched tight. "Was that a threat?"
She smiled innocently and shrugged, "I don't know. Was it?"

ABOUT CHANGES AND CHOICES
When Zahra and Kash made their appearance I immediately loved the idea of them being antagonistic because of previous history. It's a brilliant way to represent more completely their development over the stream but in less time. Considering on the stream at first they were strangers and their relationship with the team grew from there, to say they have history with two members that make both parties suspicious and worry towards each other but imply there was once trust makes their evolution to allies more believable in less time. That doesn't work though when you have one of them not caring about the death of one of the party and it definitely doesn't work when they actively try to get them hurt. At the end of the episode Zahra giving Vex the locket felt more like something that needed to happen because Vex needs to have the item and less like an action that makes sense for the characters.
At the end of the day I adore the changes they make in the adaptation. It makes it possible for me to be surprised by a story I'm already familiar with. And the writers and crew keep blowing me away with how they succeed in telling it. So I think it's valid to critique when some changes are bad/not perfect choices from a storytelling perspective.
(I adored Umbrasyl's appearance in e6, the fight and killing Kam cause it just elevated everything, it makes the stakes feel bigger, made Kamaljiori's role more important and makes Ripley seem more dangerous) Thus I still believe that the writers will tell an amazing adaptation of the story we all know (either by salvaging despite what might only seem like mistakes to me or by proving they were never mistakes).
Similarly, I loved the importance of lil Vex's line about not necessarily having control of what happens, in Vax's storyline, knew it would come back and of course enjoyed it when it did. I also know and find completely reasonable for episode 4 to be a Vax episode. His involvement in the story taking place in the flashbacks though belittles it. The same line could have been used in the same context while having the twins reunite after splitting them for the events of the specific story. For anyone who hasn't read the original version of that story I implore you to do so as I think it helps deepen Vex's character (https://nerdist.com/article/the-saga-of-trinket-the-surprising-first-meeting-between-vex-and-her-companion/). SPOILERS FOR CAMPAIGN 1 (specifically episodes 60-63) AND POSSIBLE FUTURE PLOT POINTS. When Osysa was calling them out on their issues and boiled down Vex's shit to just "Daddy Issues" I thought it was a clever build up/fake out like Scanlan's, now though I'm afraid it'll be just boiled down to that. The Saundor interaction works because it has him use Vex's worst thoughts about herself against her (something definitely only possible because of her daddy issues which causes her mentality of not being enough) he uses this instance where she found it in herself natural to kill two poachers and mercy kill a barely struggling to life bear leaving it's cub without a mother to make her believe she's a monster, (ignoring the fact she was distraught over what she had to do and only found raising the bear cub herself as an option) a story her brother, the person who has it as a personal goal to make her feel good about herself, doesn't know about. END OF SPOILERS All this context gets ruined by the way the flashbacks are presented. It once again felt like a way to give Vex a bear cause Trinket has to be there.

Gay For Pay
by reader_chic_2
“Is this the part where I say ‘make me, sir?’” Harry’s jaw clenched. Focusing back on the contract, Louis smirked inwardly. “Why can’t we fake the kinks again?”
“Primarily,” Harry said, voice dropping lower with irritation, “because my website promises real BDSM, not staged. Practically speaking, I’d love to hear how nipple clamps can be faked without falling off and halting a live stream.”
Louis wanted to take this contract and rip it apart. “Then why didn’t you get somebody who’d enjoy this? If I don’t enjoy sex with men, what makes you think I’ll enjoy getting tortured in addition?”
"I didn't want somebody who will get attached. Many subs do and hide it from me. Straight men are less likely to get attached.” Louis snorted at the response coming from someone who clearly never had been rejected a day in his life.“But I’ve changed my mind. I think you will enjoy this because you are definitely not straight, and I think seeing you have a gay spiral will be amusing.”
. . .
Or when Louis needs to take money to keep his family afloat, he turns to the porn industry where hot-shot Harry Styles picks him to be his sub. The only issue is that Louis is straight and Harry doesn't believe him.

I adored this season of the boys but I thought the finale was weaker compared to episodes 6 and 7 which were masterpieces imo I think this is the last season they can do this "going back to the status quo with a few changes" thing. The moment they kill Homelander the show is over but they can't do another season where it all goes back to where it all started again I hope they have a way to get past it but frankly this show shouldn't go beyond 5 seasons I think that's the most logical number
I loved this season, and the finale - even though there were a few choices that maybe I'm still scratching my head at.
Mainly Soldier Boy, Homelander, and Ryan.
The way episode 7 ended, it was as if they were setting up Soldier Boy to betray Billy and Hughie. But then we find out he told them Homelander was his son afterwards? So, like... I guess the monologue about always wanting a son was just a hint towards the Homelander reveal? Or maybe we weren't supposed to take him at his word because he's supposed to be an unreliable narrator - everything he says about himself is fake, or he might believe what he says or says it because he thinks he has to, but doesn't mean it? I think the only genuine thing out of Soldier Boy's mouth was the monologue about the daddy issues...
I mean, maybe I'm also a little disappointed that he was only there for the season lol but at least it's not like Stormfront where they really did off her soon after season 2. He could always come back but I'm not sure the story will go down a path that makes sense to free him.
However, now thinking about it - given Homelander's portrayal this episode, which was pitch perfect, I guess they couldn't keep Jensen around because Homelander is supposed to be the main bad guy. They can't keep having their main baddie getting smoked out of the water by other, better villains (Stormfront, Madelyn Stillwell, Soldier Boy).
And, with Homelander, they set up where I think the series is going - as I mentioned in an earlier post. Even though it made little sense why Ryan went with Homelander. But I guess kids don't make much sense either. And Billy really messed up in episode 3 so... actions have consequences!!!
The finale, though, didn't really go back to the status quo. The Seven is gone. Black Noir is dead 😭 and Maeve is done. Butcher is on the outs and has a year, at best, to live. Annie is working with them full-time. The landscape has changed around them with Victoria Neuman really coming into her own as the VP pick and next season's main villain (which I am glad to have been able to call from last episode lol). The only return to status quo thing, i think, was the plan to kill Homelander failed - back to the drawing board!
Which, you're right, once Homelander is killed that's the show. They might have one more episode detailing the aftermath where they deal with who did kill Homelander - because i don't think it'll be Butcher or any of them (again, it looks like they're setting Ryan up for something, he's gonna be taking over the comic book Black Noir storyline).
But this whole season I've been saying this show was going to have five seasons. I don't think it needs anymore.
Because, like, the only reason why the Boys comic continued a bit after Homelander's death (besides the Black Noir reveal) was also because Butcher made the most insane turn and started offing his friends. I don't think that'll be the case in this adaptation thank GOD.
But to your point about this episode being weaker, I will say this episode had to do more than the last 2. 6 and 7 were more focused so they could do more. 6 was about herogasm. 7 was about the mind guy. 8 had do to a bit more across the board AND set up the next season. Every character made choices that made sense with what was established, except for Soldier Boy regarding Homelander - but, again, if he was lying about wanting to be a dad then maybe it was the right choice.
What episode 8 was though was it tied the season up rather perfectly and set up their move onto the endgame.

I also did fuck all today, so here's to Avoiding Responsibilities. Speaking of responsibilities, I finished that fic draft I was whining in your inbox about a while back. You made a great post about getting oneself to write, and I owe you thanks for it! So, thank you! Unfortunately I now view you as my lucky writing oracle, and I come to you again to consult you for your wisdom: do you have any favorite prose tips or resources? Of course the ultimate tip is "keep working at it until it sounds good" but I'm always on the prowl for the Secret Technique to make my description adequate. I'll, uh, write a couple hundred words of Izzy and daddy related content as an offering? If that's an incentive. -izzy's dd anon
Ooh, yes please on the content 👀
(although, with all seriousness: you don't have to offer anything up, I'm happy to help if I can)
Yesterday (or the day before? Time is fake, bruh) I was told by my lovely beta for my steddyhands fic (@darthameus): "Aaaa okay holy shit that was the best fic I’ve ever read for the blackhands pairing" and "I loved it so so much dude. You’re an absolutely incredible writer" which made me unreasonably happy but also makes me feel somewhat qualified to answer this, at least I hope.
To me, when I'm writing it's all about feel. So these are the things I try to feel out when I write:
Character
Tone
Voice
Rhythm
To break these down:
Character: I always write from a POV but in third person. I don't think I've ever done omniscient or anything like that, so my work is almost always third person limited, but I'm writing from inside someone's head. So even if I'm describing the room they're in, it's how they see it, rather than just how it is. Stepping into Stede's cabin for the first time, for example, an Edward POV would talk about the fine things and how awesome it all is. An Izzy POV would think it was a gross misuse of space and how much fucking satin do you need. If there's something the character wouldn't notice, it either has to be dragged to their attention by something else (Izzy notices a really nice sword, and that draws his attention to the pretty necklace beside it when it catches the light, he wouldn't have really paid it any attention otherwise) or someone else has to comment on it.
Everything has to fit the character, otherwise it's weird and jarring and out of place. I try to get in their heads and, I guess, body them a little. I am Izzy: what do I see? What do I feel? What do I think?
then i have to get back out again lmao
Character is the top thing that sets the tone for me, but...
Tone: If I'm writing a dark piece with danger and death, I'm not going to focus on the rising sun or the feel of soft satin, I'm going to hone more in on things to give a dark atmosphere. But, again, it depends on what Izzy might notice. So, if it's Izzy feeling dark, he might just describe the satin curtains blocking out the light, because that would feel dark to him.
Once you have the character and tone, there's my favorite...
Voice: I know not everyone can 'see' in their imagination? Like, some people have aphantasia and such and absolutely nothing when they try to imagine something. I don't know if that goes for imagining sound, too? I guess it probably does. But for me at least, when I absolutely nail a characterization, I can hear the voice in my head as I type or as I reread. I find that very telling and use it quite often to guide my characterization.
And finally:
Rhythm: I've been told in the past that my writing is lyrical, and I have literally never let that go because that is exactly how I want to write. One of the biggest tips I have ever read is to do with sentence and paragraph length. If you crush sixty short sentences into one paragraph, whatever is happening in that paragraph feels quick and full of action. If you eke those six sentences out, make them long and give them individual paragraphs, it makes everything feel like it's taking more time. So, a hot and heavy fuck or a fight scene might be six chunky paragraphs, but a slow seduction or a walk in the moonlight might be broken up into thirty short ones. On top of that, I use a lot of repetition in my work (you know, one of the big rules) because I find it sounds, as I said, lyrical, especially if used correctly.
Sometimes my repetition is solely because it's telling of a character (Izzy never refers to Stede as Stede in his own head in this fic, it is always Stede-Fucking-Bonnet), sometimes it's more because of rhythm. This is a bit from chapter 1 that shows what I mean about repetition and rhythm:
Izzy doesn’t get chance to bite back, either verbally or physically, before Edward is pulling away, removing his body from Izzy’s, leaving him in a deep state of mourning, donning the red robe once more and disappearing out of the cabin, leaving the little pot of flowery oil behind.
On the one hand, this leaves Izzy with a moment to catch his breath and really think about what he’s doing.
On the other hand, this leaves Izzy with time and silence to really think about what he’s doing.
Izzy is under no illusions that he’s a stand-in. He’s a replacement. When Edward is kissing him, it’s because he cannot kiss Stede-Fucking-Bonnet, who took off on him for fuck knows what reason, leaving Izzy to pick up the pieces of Edward’s shattered heart.
His shattered heart.
He hadn’t known. Izzy hadn’t known nor realized just how much Edward cared for Stede. He hadn’t realized until he’d had to crawl into a blanket fort to talk to him and had found Edward curled up, tear-stained and eating marmalade from a mostly-empty jar, miserable and torn apart by what Stede had done in abandoning him.
And he had; Stede-Fucking-Bonnet had abandoned Edward like he was yesterday’s dinner, just like a rich fucking toff would, the moment the dinner turned cold, while people like Izzy and Edward would scrape the plate clean in their hunger, appreciating every bite, no matter the temperature, no matter the damage, no matter if it was no longer perfect and freshly made, even if it had been chewed up and spat out already.
Like Edward.
Like Izzy.
They’ve been chewed up and spat out so many times in their lives, Izzy is surprised they can still call themselves people, rather than skeletons with human parts. He knows more about where Edward has been than anyone, but that doesn’t mean he knows everything about him, that’s perfectly clear now.
He didn’t know he’d lo— had affection for Stede-Fucking-Bonnet, not to the extent he clearly did. And he didn’t know that such a rough break, such a cruel, thoughtless act from Stede-Fucking-Bonnet, could bring Edward here and, more pertinently, could bring Izzy to Edward’s bed.
He is making a horrible mistake. Fuck.
What he should do is get up, get out of this stupid flowery bed, grab the shit that Edward was packing up having lived in a broken-hearted squalor for so long, and leave. He should go back to his cabin and not let this thing, whatever it is, happen.
He’s not a replacement for Stede-Fucking-Bonnet. He won’t be a replacement for Stede-Fucking-Bonnet. He’s watched Edward pine and mourn for days now and he knows, deep down, that this, this next development, is just another step on the chain of Edward’s recovery from Stede-Fucking-Bonnet.
Which, he supposes, is good? It’s good that Edward is getting over it. It’s good that Edward is moving forward and starting to clean up the place and leverage himself out of his dark hole of misery, but Edward getting (metaphorically) under Izzy to get over Stede-Fucking-Bonnet is not the way to do it.
And there’s the metaphorically part.
Hadn't known, hadn't known, hadn't realized - He's not a replacement, won't be a replacement - Like Izzy. Like Edward - On the one hand, on the other hand - Is good? It's good. It's good. etc etc
To me the repetition adds rhythm and tone to the piece, which is all I want out of my work really lmao
And my final, main point has to be: fuck the rules.
Lots of people toss all this writing advice around: show don't tell, don't repeat words or phrases, don't overuse quirky things like 'Stede-Fucking-Bonnet', don't be too on the nose about things, don't use adverbs, don't use filler words blah blah blah
Fuck all of the rules. Every last one. If you want to write something bland and disinteresting, divorced from all of what makes your writing your writing, stick to the rules. If you want to write something that sounds like you, your passion, your personality?
Fuck the rules.
Find your own tone, your own rhythm, find your own way of conveying your point and your feelings.
Reread your own work and find the pieces that make you go, "Oh, fuck I'm a good writer." Even if you're really down on yourself and that's only 100 words out of 100k. Even if it's less "Oh fuck" and more "Hey this ain't bad."
Find what sticks out to you and ask yourself: What makes this feel like me and what makes me go this is good? Is it the rhythm? Is it the tone? Is it the language use? Is it the emotions conveyed?
Once you figure those things out, it's a lot easier to let prose flow from your fingers and allow it to sound like you and be great.
I do not know if this answered your question, actually. Um, I hope it did?
Also, congrats on finishing the fic draft! I hope if you posted it, it got tonnes of feedback and kudos, and I hope even if you didn't post it that you enjoyed finishing it and are feeling very proud of yourself.

Have you ever considered a creepypasta or proxy OC? I'm actually really curious about this
I actually have 2!
I have a Creepypasta fandom Oc and a Marble Hornets fandom Oc, (Or what most people would consider "Proxy")
Most of them are just used btwn me and Eldritch for headcanons/roleplays
Tumblr media
Cas is a They/Them Creepypasta fandom Oc! They were originally designed as a companion character for Toby; their relationship varies depending on what scenario they are used for but Cas is mostly a source of validation and emotional support for Toby. They are very chill, laid back, and have a odd moral compass. They like arson.
More often than not if Cas must be 'introduced' to the pastas, I usually have them see a murder outside taco bell at 3 am, shrug and give the killer the extra crunchwrap they bought before going home.
Tired College StudentTM, worked graveyard shift at 7/11 before a karen finally made them snap. They burnt down the building (MAYBEeee with the karen inside) and faked their death b/c They no longer wished to deal with society's BS
Cas also has Daddy IssuesTM as another potential bonding springboard for Toby.
AS FOR THE CLASSIFICATION OF PROXY OR CREEP--
Cas is KINDA a Proxy but also KINDA NAH. Officially they weren't called in by Slender, but still preform Proxy duties as form of "payment" to the demon octopus for letting them stay in the woods.
So I suppose, "Unofficial Proxy" might be the correct term because the most violence they do outside of rent is either defensive or arson.
But, once again, it depends on the scenario.
Tumblr media
Erin, my She/Her feral Gremlin Oc for Marble Hornets!
Once again, a companion character! She was designed to play opposite of Tim and is very much the "Firey Redhead that Cares" archetype. Loud, bold, but lacking foresight, Erin needs someone with a level head to reign her in as much as Tim needs a bit of a weird live wire!
As someone who is brash, her character will often butt heads with Alex due to his more aggressive tendencies should they be in the same scene, They DO NOT LIKE EACHOTHER.
BUT, Erin is a Companion Character, and as such she provides Emotional Support despite her chaotic tendencies.
Proxy or Creep?
Erin is considered a "Proxy" for the factor of being a Marble Hornets OC.
Now, I personally categorize MH separately from CP and depending on the worldbuild, different things can happen.
If we are assuming MH is in the timeline, Erin would accompany Tim as his companion character and become a proxy that way.
BUT, if we are assuming MH is NOT in the timeline that changes things. Erin would likely be 'Called' in by Slender as a new proxy and would be thrust into the hierarchy of the senior proxies. Which means taking orders and training under them, or in this case Tim/Masky.
She'd be the one calling him out on his bullshit or encouraging an insane plan when there is little options. Erin and Tim would butt heads a lot due to her archetype, but would eventually gain a friendship through forced reliance and vulnerability.
Erin is also more Unhinged without MH in the timeline. Rather than doing things out of necessity, Erin will enjoy her job of taking lives much more. Without the backstory and suffering to humble her, she lacks empathy more, which coupled with general distaste for humanity leads to much less remorse.

(spoiler-free) book review: 老婆是顶级Alpha,我该怎么办 by 海藻大王
Tumblr media
(official cover art on JJWXC)
Synopsis
Rong Shi was an elite soldier in his first life, but died in combat at 33 after being betrayed by his own people. Waking up again as his 18-year-old self, he wants to steer clear of military politics and just keep his loved ones safe. But he is already the top freshman at the military college, and can't really stay out of the spotlight despite his best (but poor) efforts.
Song Yu is the Second Prince, but his father favors his incompetent older half-brother. To ease the political pressure around himself, he creates the impression that he has given up on trying to act like a respectable prince. He arranges for himself to be "exiled" to the military college off-planet from the capital, and starts a high-profile relationship with another Alpha.
By marrying each other, Rong Shi and Song Yu can make themselves less appealing and threatening targets to their enemies. However, both of them have secret "white moonlights": a good friend from a popular video game, whom they assume must be the most adorable Omega because his in-game avatar is a cute fluffy animal. But wait, why does the annoying Alpha husband also have tokens that can only belong to the online friend?
Meanwhile, there seems to be a conspiracy to trap top Alphas with perfectly compatible Omegas who can influence their heats and pheromones. Rong Shi knows this plan is related to the secrets behind his family's misfortunes and his own death in the first timeline, and investigates in secret. Song Yu is still planning his bid for the throne, and has assassins on his tail on a weekly basis.
While this marriage of convenience is supposed to help them lay low, their incredible abilities has already made them celebrities in the Military college, and their actions has already touched the core interests of a hidden enemy ....
What I like about this story
This is the kind of Mary Sue (Gary Stu?) story with main characters who are powerful enough to never feel threatened in a substantial way, but the plot and action can still keep them busy and engaged. They fight tense battles and runs into surprising revelations, but you just know they are going to make through at the last minute. Rong Shi has an AI with technology and data from the future timeline, while Song Yu is a literal prince, and they are both gorgeous, elite fighters. You can just watch main characters fall in love and overpower all the small fries, but there is also an interesting conspiracy to uncover in the background.
The main relationship is funny, comforting, and 100% angst-free. The romance develops gradually as the characters get to know each other. In the beginning, Song Yu and Rong Shi do not trust the other, but it does not stop them from looking and acting like a smitten couple for outsiders. Once they make their feelings clear (about 40% into the story), it just falls into place like they are always meant to be. They are both intensely protective and possessive, but they also trust each other and communicate very well. It's two slightly-insane slightly-twisted people falling in love with each other, but really they really just want to survive and make things right for their loved ones.
The tone of the story is light and funny; it's not trying to take itself too seriously and is having fun with the tropes. Rong Shi and Song Yu are celebrities on the school's online forum, where they are nicknamed Daddy Rong and Beauty Song. They need to answer questions about common-sense relationship behavior to get (fake) married and fails spectacularly. Song Yu orders a custom-made, fully-functional combat mecha in the shape of a rabbit for his boyfriend. They do eventually take the rabbit mecha out into battle, and of course it wields a giant carrot.
And Song Yu, my dear murder baby, he is everything I would have wanted in a wish fulfillment character at fifteen years old. He is cool and brazen on the outside, ready to fight everything and everyone, but soft on the inside. He misses his broken family and harbors an online crush, and wants to make things right for his people. He causally tortures his enemies but also hugs his giant bunny plushie when he needs comfort. He is protected, pampered, and loved by a young man he loves just as fiercely. And to top it all off, he has these quirky traits, like having a massive sweet tooth and is a disaster cook. Sweetie, you have custom-made bunny-print pajamas and need to hug an oversized stuffed bunny to sleep, where did you get the confidence to think you might be the gong in this relationship?
On the other hand
Thinking too hard about the logic of the plot may be missing the point in a feel-good Mary Sue novel, but this story has at least as much plot and action as romance, and it's nearly impossible to not pay attention.
There are a lot of things that makes no sense, even accounting for in-universe logic. For example, Song Yu's preschool-age cousin has no reason to be in his care, since both his parents are alive and happily married -- he is only there to be a "childhood sweetheart" for Rong Shi's little brother. The political intrigue surrounding Song Yu's quest for the throne and the movement to end inequality and suppression for Omegas mention structural social and political issues that can become very serious themes, but are treated like child's play.
I haven't read much Chinese sci-fi, danmei or not, so it's possible I'm missing some genre conventions and assumptions.
Overall
This story is very fun and comforting read. It has a very Young Adult kind of feel, with hyper-competent teenage characters who are solving all the problems in their universe, while the adults are either too incompetent and/or evil. The relationship arc is fluffy and cute, while the plot is action-packed and interesting, but imho neither really stand up to a serious analysis -- which is perfectly fine for a web novel! It's a fun read!
