he had to hurt her like that, look at the cinema he made. did he? how do you know? the ends justify the means, huh. a woman could never actually act this well, it had to be real, a snuff film. yes, she was hired for her talent - but pain will make the talent brighter, right.

(an aside. author's note, i guess. in poetry, when the words cannot hold themselves up, we actually blame the writers. it shouldn't matter who speaks the literature. the words should carry their own weight. be their own scaffolding.)

the men in the room all applaud each other for doing less. they say they push boundaries. they're leaders in their field. they ask the hard questions.

when they get your resume, they put it into a pile that they will put into a trashcan. when they get your screenplay, they will use it as a coaster. when they build their museums, they will have a disjointed room dedicated to "repairing" the ways that women and people of color have been eradicated from "fine arts". it will be self-effacing. we may have overlooked some artists, they apologize. but really it's not our fault that white men make better art. (those men and their works are in permanent displays. for more on this, see: the way that he laughs at your work will make you sick to your teeth). in six weeks, their apology will be scrubbed and the room will be scrubbed and all the paintings will go back into storage.

they know they are right. sure, okay. maybe we have had less opportunities. but what would we have done with them? not something like this. it took a man to do this. okay, okay. it was deranged, we can all agree about it. but look at the product.

in your life, when you wake up, isn't it grand. if they made a museum for people like us, it would be a cycle of empty frames. of ruined videos. of songs with a voicecrack. all the little plaques reading some variation of a theme. here is where my work would stand if someone like me could actually get published in this fucking industry. here is the work i tried to make, before my agency was stripped from me. here is the placeholder of my dreams, but i could not afford them in this society.

they'll give him an award, looking to the camera with almost an apology. he will laugh ruefully. nobody will do anything. little white strings will drip from his fingers. young boys in film studies will continue to chainsmoke while explaining how beautiful it is that there's violence in those scenes. she couldn't have done it without him pushing, he'll tell you, shrugging.

but what if, you wonder. what if he had never existed? without him, what else could we be making? all that time and love and spirit, allowed back into the light. into knowledge. what has he taken, to give us his art?

and is it a trade worth making?

Rewatching Help instead of sleeping Part 1

Why do we start this movie with human sacrifice and then immediately go into a music video for help?

Also I was just at an Aztec temple for the Sun God and they also did human sacrifices. I was told by the guide that a most of their sacrifices would volunteer.

There at some sort of restaurant with belly dancers and all the chef are being killed. Listen man you can try to kill Ringo without harming the employees.

There’s so many batshit lines in this. Was this version of Ringo dropped on his head as a child why is he saying he likes to have his head stuck in between railing?

You know the writers were like “the fan girls are gonna love this” when ringo’s pants fell off. 

I love her outfits in this movie but this has to be my favorite so far. I regret being completely sober for this re-watch.

I’m gonna stop commenting on the racism now but holy fuck did this not age well.

Also Paul being tiny and naked on the floor is also a fantastic moment of fan-service that Beatles fans definitely fell for.

I think these scientist are definitely a gay couple. They have a real sort of Dr Honeydew and Beaker vibe to them.

Hearing George call the bomb a “fiendish thingy” is so much more fun knowing that I know about the vomit pet.

Bro almost got Saint Sebastian-ed. Also I feel like arrows through a window is a pretty ineffective way to kill someone like it’s too unpredictable.

Things that Could Have Been, but Weren't

So, this post is just to highlight things/scenarios that the novela suggested and could have been but never happened:

Starting off with my fav, Hugo and Armando’s friendship: the episode where Armando goes to the gay bar ti apologize to Hugo lets us see that they don’t really hate each other. They really don’t. In that scene they joke and laugh like they’re the best of friends, until a random person confused them for a couple and Armando no longer wants to be there. Their “rivalry” is mainly strong differences related to work, as well as the influence of the era’s social prejudices/judgments (Armando, as a straight man, could not be seen being close friends with Hugo, an openly homosexual man, without people assuming he’s also gay, which back then was seen as shameful and we all know how much Armando cares about people’s opinions). That scene alone shows us that Hugo and Armando, were not for the social prejudice and Armando’s impossible goals, they could have been friends.

Roman's "date" with Marcela and Patricia. This possibility was just absolutely hilarous, to me, okay? I really wanted to see it: Marcela and Patricia in one of those clubs completely weirded out, maybe even having to dance with one of the guys. Could have been interesting to see more of Roman's character beyong the "brainless Bully" as the episode in which Patricia gets arrested suggests, when Roman says to Marcela that not everyone who isn't of her social class isn't a criminal tryibg to harm her. Could have been interesting to explore this more humbke side of Roman and to see Marcela (Patricia is very bland as a character at this point of the novela so whatever) possibly becoming more humble after spending time with then. (( im definitely going to write a one shot one day about this))

Daniel’s pursue of Betty. I’m not talking about acutally loving her, that’d be a bit too ooc, but the show clearly implied he had attraction towards her, and him giving up so easily after the dinner felt ooc. Daniel is VERY insistent, and he cares very little for a woman’s actual interest or consent.

Dr. Sánchez and Sandra’s date. Look. I just.... think it is too cute to let it slip, ok? Sandra deserved to find love. Dr. Sánchez had his issues with his pringuesitos that’s true, but that man just NEEDS AN OPPORTUNITY, OK? SHE CAN FIX HIM (or honestly they can fix each other because wtf was that of diminishing all short men's masculinity like that)

Betty's letter. We see a scene back when Betty didn't yet know of the plan but was already Armando's lover where she leaves a letter for Armando on his desk. Can you imagine how sould crushing it could have been if it had been a love letter and that Mario were to read it, and then later on he writes the Sinister Letter as a parallel to Betty's love letter? Oh, the drama, the tragedy, the cruelty!

Efraín and Sofía's reconciliation. I don't mean that they get back to being a couple, I mean for them both to forgive each other and have an actual amicable relationship after what happened when Efraín was in jail. Those scenes really led us on to believe they were going to heal; that Efraín was going to admit and understand that Jenny didn't love him. They don't have to even still be in love with each other (although it is heabily implied that Sofia still loves him), just to understand that they weren't right for each other anymore. To truly move on, ans for Efraín to reflect about how he failed Sofía and his own kids. For Sofía to see that Efraín stopped loving her because she was aggressive and distant before he cheated (not a justification for cheating, just explaining his view)

Injust think it would have been great to see all these things more explored jn the novela, because after all, it left it clear that they COULD happen!

saying t was happy would be an understatement

the energetic boy yanked him into a hug, leaving his stoic counterpart(ner) highly confused and extremely flustered

choking from t's tight embrace, his face became beet red

he went from wanting to be the worst part of Sailom's life, to wanting to fix the actual worst parts of his life, and I just love him so much can you blame me for loving him so much

SUPER LONG ITAPAN RAMBLE INCOMING!!!!

OKAY. OKAY. its been a while since ive rambled on this account so today im going to clear up how i see itapan so that no one gets confused when i say “i dont think they would ever date” and then proceed to draw them making out or whatever.

when you hear “one sided itapan” you might think italy has the stronger feelings (because he’s the one approaching and hugging and kissing japan or whatever) but i feel that it’s actually japan with the stronger feelings.

when italy’s affectionate towards japan, its not because he’s necessarily attracted to him, but that’s just how he behaves. i think that he’s kind of trying to lead him on so japan is nicer to him. italy has been coddled his entire life like he’s been taken care of by austria and hungary and spain and france and germany and literally everyone loves him. and he KNOWS that everyone loves him so he purposefully babies himself to others so he can get even more special treatment. hes an annoying little asshole who uses his good looks and weakness to get out of trouble and i love it!!!

throughout the series (both in anime, manga, and a little in hetamyu), japan actually grows a bit of a soft spot for italy because of how weak and pathetic he makes himself seem. at first he’s polite and awkward because he idolized italy to be strong and capable, but once his expectations are SHATTERED he gradually begins to want to take care of him in a way. he doesn’t get mad at him as often and sometimes even defends him when germany is upset or lecturing him (like in hetalia fantasia). he tucks him in bed and lets him sleep on his chest and share a bed and bathe together and do the gayest shit ever. i probably would’ve thought “well thats because he’s too polite to refuse” but he ACTIVELY wants to do this stuff with him. he puts a hand on his back to keep him in place when he rests on his chest. he visits italy often and loves to cook with/for him. he wants to learn how to hug and kiss him back even after italy says its fine. he writes him letters and a SONG where he asks italy to visit him and gives him a pressed flower bookmark. japan goes out of his way to return italy’s affection and spend time with him while italy just does it because he’s italy.

i dont really think it’s a “sad” one-sided crush because in the end they’re still friends! they still both care about each other and confide in one another and hang out. italy isnt just affectionate to japan because he wants to lead him on and get more special treatment, but because they’re friends and he does still like him platonically! they can act like a couple without actually BEING one and thats insane!!! i love that shit!!!!!

ive mentioned how itager/gerita was my first hetalia ship and it still stands as one of my favorites. the problem is that im PICKY with it because i dont like a lot of the fandoms’ interpretations of them. i guess i wasnt as picky with itapan and liked it simultaneously with (although much more than) itager. but when i rewatched all of hetalia over the spring i realized how much MORE i liked itapan in the context of itager, which kind of blew my mind. like i remember mentioning to some itapan friends how i think they would never date and i still stand with that today. like italy and germany are too busy trying to win eachother over and they would just get together instead. japan actually likes his friends though and wants them to be happy so he would just go “ok” and move on while still doing all that gay shit with them. i guess jt makes itapan more of a brotp but it doesnt make it any less enjoyable for me. i LIKE to see them hanging out and being friends and dont really mind fanart where they’re dating or whatever because i can just pretend that they’re not!

anyways sorry for being a little insane i hate itapan but i actually love itapan okay i love them okay yahoo!

What’s a fic you’ve read multiple times? Teenagers Scare the Living Shit Out of Me by Mellow_Yellow. I love this fic -- it's a great mystery, ian and mickey's relationship is very sweet but realistic. and i looooove mickey's uncle ronnie. also SPOILER but i do blame this fic for ruining tony for me lol. every time i see Tony on the show now im always side eyeing him haha.

What’s an idea you’d love to create if you had the time/inspiration? Probably a post-canon fic about Ian finding his way back to doing what he loves. I love EMT!Ian an dit makes me so sad that he didnt get to end the show that way. i'd want the fic to properly explore the barriers he runs into in becoming an EMT again as an ex-con. and i'd want it to explore ian and mickey's dynamic when it comes to ian's bipolar disorder now. seasons 4 and 5 are so good but they were obviously so tumultuous for both of them but i feel like seasons 10 and 11 they don't really ever talk about those seasons and how they've grown in that specific area. i think that would tie nicely into ian working to become an EMT again.

What’s something you’ve discovered since entering this fandom? A new trope you love? A different analysis of the show? Something else? I don't want to be super negative here but I will say when i first started dipping my toes into the shameless fandom i noticed a lot of hate for ian -- in fics and youtube comments, mostly. it confused me a lot because gallavich is such a popular ship that it made no sense to me how people could hate 1/2 of that ship. so any time i saw that level of hate directed toward ian, my love for ian kept growing until i have now become a staunch defender lol. but i have also come to realize that i think a lot of that came from people's intense love for Mickey and for Noel. and i know people held a lot of anger while the show was airing when Noel left the show. i can see how watching ian in seasons 6-8 move on without mickey would be frustrating. i really don't agree with any of that, but knowing where a lot of it comes from makes it easier to understand. (also noting that people could just be ableist dickheads, too, and to those people i say fuck you.) sorry if this question was supposed to be a positive one but that's my answer.

What’s an underrated trope or concept you’d like to see more of? maybe fics where we see mickey doing his research on bipolar disorder. he walks into the gallagher kitchen with so many bottles and vitamins and is spouting off drug facts like he's being tested on his knowledge. like, i just want to see him doing research for his boyfriend!

What’s your favourite season? And has this changed after multiple rewatches of the show? Arrghhh this is almost impossible to answer. I think overall that seasons 4 and 5 have the strongest writing. I would probably place season 4 slightly ahead of 5 purely for the rushed and chaotic ending of 5. Season 4 just hits so hard. But in terms of specifically Ian's story, i love season 6 and parts of season 7.

What’s a plot hole you wish had been answered or resolved? It's not exactly a plot hole but I kinda wish they brought Clayton back in some way, especially in the later seasons. (ok also this isn't gallavich related but wtf was that moment in season 6 when tony returned just to tell ian he was gay??? we never him again after that?? lol)

What scene or moment do you feel isn’t discussed enough? the scene in the military prison where ian's listening to his entire family talk about his mental state like he isn't sitting right there. my god that scene breaks me. ian's silence speaks so loudly. it makes so much sense why he runs away with monica shortly after. i kinda also wish someone explained to the gallaghers how hurtful it is for them to keep comparing ian to monica, that just because they're both bipolar it does not mean he's gonna do the same shit as her. i so wish there was way more understanding on their part, and to stop throwing that in his face.

What do you think is next for Ian and Mickey post-finale? I want them to continue settling into their life and finding out their comforts. maybe finding somewhere else to live. i looove ian but i wasn't fan of the way he signed for that apartment without speaking to mickey so i'd like to think they find somewhere they can both truly call home. and that ian can find his way back to healing and helping people.

she'd probably replicate the sympathy/solidarity thing with stewy too, in this case because she's a woman and he's a brown man, paired with the fact that the two of them, unlike kendall, 1) can't simply conceal who they are, 2) are not allowed to assert masculinity in an aggressive way. quite obviously shiv's relationship to stewy is largely mediated by their respective relationships with kendall but i won't say more

you’re right in that shiv is not homophobic in the sense of having deep-seated beliefs on the matter at all, shiv’s issue with gayness has less to do with the physicality of it but more of the gender implications which is to say that shiv’s homophobia is really just an extension of her internalized misogyny. it’s again related with the masculinity aspect, it’s not about how gay you are but how much you will deviate from your gender and most importantly how much of that is a threat to her? in terms of gay men, shiv sees it as just an extended boys club that she cant access even if it’s just through sex and attraction, the one card she can play as a woman (this was first mentioned by @/shesnake and @/akajustmerry in their succession gaytv podcast episode which i highly recommend) but also it’s how much can their masculinity trump their gayness. out of all the siblings shiv is probably the one that shares logan’s ideas of masculinity the most. she thinks ken is too soft and she thinks roman is weird and she thinks connors lame and its because they just dont align to that idea of logan-masculinity (without getting too daddy issues about it lol) which is also why she’s with tom, because he’s just masculine enough but also decidedly not masculine enough to be a real threat to overshadow her.

which all applies to shiv’s relationship to stewy because stewy is the ultimate threat because he plays at both masculinity and femininity like stewy will never be a logan-type masculine and he knows that which is why he plays to his other strengths which is charm and it’s so carefully cultivated on stewys end Because he knows he can never pass as a logan-type masculine so he Has to play up the handsome charm and confidence but also stewy Is inherently masculine in that he definitely fits in as a man even if it’s the asshole insane amounts of money SUCCESS cocaine party animal kind of man, which may not be man enough in logans book but it’s definitely man enough for the world stewy is operating in which is why he can operate in it so successfully and the success is key. stewy’s riches are self made for the most part which gives him power and status in being an earner and a moneymaker but also stewy’s not in a position of leading stewys not vying for ceo he’s not vying to be top dog which is why he doesn’t Need a logan-type masculinity But he still needs some kind of masculinity to stay afloat which goes back to his crucially self-managed image. in terms of shiv, stewy confuses her in that he isnt a logan-type masculine but a) it doesnt bother him/he doesnt want to be and b) he’s still a winner anyway. but also there’s that edge of homophobia in that she’s confused and annoyed about it because she really thinks ‘youre not a real man. why are you thriving here?’ but also with a little bit ‘you’re a little bit feminine you’re a little bit masculine how does that work/im pissed off that that won’t work for me’ but also again going back to ‘being charming is the card i get to play, but now you get to play it too but also again it works for you but not for me’

there is Also of course. racism. shiv would never feel a solidarity with stewy over him being brown and her being a woman because she’s racist. kendall being gay and her being woman has a common denominator of being white before it has a common denominator of being oppressed. the racism also feeds into shiv’s opposition to stewy’s masculinity. ‘you’re not a man’ is as much because he doesn’t fit an idea of masculinity that she understands as much as it is just her not seeing him as as much of a man because he’s not white.

hi ging i know this is totally not the place for unsolicited asking for advice so totally ignore this ask if it’s the wrong place to be doing this BUT in short i’m having an identity crisis yay!!! up until very recently i though i was just a very very supportive ally, eg when homophobic things were said around me i was personally offended but was just like noooo i’m just a huge ally i’m not gay!! i love love munagenius, and not just in a “i wanna be friends with all of them!” way, i’ve had crushes on girls irl, but have just pushed them deep deep down and i’m attracted to them and i would date a girl and AND I KNOW THAT SOUNDS SO GAY LIKE I SHOULDNT EVEN BEEN QUESTIONING BUT FOR SOME REASON IM IN DENIAL. it’s like i almost don’t feel gay enough? literally nobody knows because i like men (unfortunate i know) and have been in “straight” relationships all my life. i know nobody but me can tell me if i’m queer or not like this is my shit to deal with but maybe i just needed somewhere to dump my feelings anonymously :p

i was right where you are not that long ago, and i hope i can use my experiences to give you some guidance?? without making it sound like it’s all about me??

we had very similar experiences, i’ve ALWAYS had crushes on women but never realized they were crushes, i was like “no i just want to be their best friend” or “i admire them soooo much,” or “i wish i looked like them” — and while those are totally normal thoughts to have, i also actively was pushing down the idea that i, as in me ginger, could be queer, i didn’t know what queer meant and i didn’t even know that bisexuality was a thing when i was young

i had a MAJOR identity crisis actually like right before i started posting on here consistently, if you look at my tumblr in the very beginning it was literally all “insert male celebrity x reader” because i did not allow myself to look at content that i was not “queer enough” for

denial is something i ALSO went through, i can’t tell you how many times my best friends (both queer) had to talk me down about WHY i was getting so worked about about labeling myself or feeling confused about liking girls, trying to find the root of why i wouldn’t allow myself to say i was queer or even curious about my sexuality

obviously accepting yourself is hard, right? it’s challenging an idea about yourself that is different from what you’ve always known yourself. i struggled so much with this because, like you sweet anon, i was always straight and nobody knew otherwise

self acceptance/no longer being in denial is also hard because there’s so many factors. one of the biggest factors for me was i was living in an environment at the time where queerness was NOT fully accepted, i know that i was going to be unsafe (mentally, emotionally, spiritually) if i had come out. (i eventually did to one of my family members and it worked out but most of them still don’t know)

one of my other things when not feeling queer enough was like “well i haven’t had a lot experiences with women so i can’t really be queer,” and my best friend literally was like “do you tell children who identify as queer that they aren’t because they haven’t kissed anyone?” and i said “of course not!” and he sat there and let me think about it… and then was like “well yeah, see how stupid that sounds? you’re not LESS queer because you don’t have experience, like maybe it’s more intimidating for you, but it doesn’t make you less”… and it’s something i still think about all the time

i know i’m rambling and i’m kinda jumping around but something you need understand and sit with is you don’t HAVE to label yourself! the biggest reason i hadn’t come out (combined with above) is because i couldn’t label myself, i didn’t feel queer enough for any label.

i ended up (after truly months) coming out as bi (not even officially, i just started referring to myself as bisexual and posting stuff on instagram and creating my own lil community) because like you anon, i unfortunately like men😪 (even though i am actively only dating women/nb at the moment, don’t dissect this too much i am still in my identity crisis)

i guess what i am trying to saaaaay is be patient with yourself, you are queer enough, even if you’re just questioning (although it sounds like you were where i was and you’re def not but i can’t tell you that). as long as you are entering this space respectfully and your intentions are pure, you have nothing to worry about sweet anon.

working to get over the “my whole life is going to change” and turning it into “my whole life is going to change!!!” is a way to help with this identity crisis. any change is hard, change is super scary, but as long as you’re in a place where you are safe and healthy, living authentically, even if confused, is so much better than feeling trapped and trying to work through it alone.

i hope this makes sense, i am obviously oversimplifying a lot of the issues of coming out or identifying yourself, i am very privileged that most of my life hasn’t changed since i have come out, and i know it’s not always the easiest/safest for people

fr tho i loved the fact that we had a real prelude for this region.. i think the excuse to make something a little more isolated and establishing in it's plot is already super beneficial for whats to come. we got a lot more character exposition, and even the time to install these cool archon quest specific mechanics. i loved solving everything, it was all SO fun but they also got to have these really emotional beats, i feel this is some of their best pacing yet.

imo the last half of sumeru really helped hoyoverse find their stride, fontaine so far has similar storytelling energy to the whole heist bit of sumeru.

the best thing however might've been the SCORE??? they went out of their league with this one, it's the most fitting, noticable and influential instrumental work they've done in an quest imo

Why I think Byler HAS to be engame

Homophobes stay out, toxic Milevens stay out. This is discussing the Byler ship and why I personally believe it has to be canon. In fact, I think if it isn’t canon it would do a disservice to the show and all that it has built up. 

Im fairly confident we are getting Byler endgame (the 1% is just personal self doubt). For a LONG time I didn’t think about the Byler ship, because I had been through so many queerbaiting ships that go no where in the past. In Stranger Things 3 I definitely got the vibes that Will liked Mike, but I truly thought it’d just be unspoken. After Volume 2 of ST 4, it can’t be unspoke. We as the audience know the truth: Will Byers is in love with Mike Wheeler.

For the longest time I also said that I didn’t care who ended up being canon (Byler vs Mileven) I just cared if it had good writing. I am now of the belief that you cannot have Mileven endgame and it be good writing. This is for a few reasons. 

The Painting (Van) Scene: Will gives Mike his painting. The painting that was supposedly for a girl. Mike immediately smiles at this gift but looks conflicted when Will said it was commissioned by Jane. Will also lied about everything El felt towards Mike, because it was Will who felt these things. Will loves Mike the way Mike wants to be loved. Mike doesn’t love El the way she wants him to love her. El deserves someone who can love her for who she is, not what she does (her powers)

Mike’s Monologue: The consequence of the van scene is the monologue. Mike practically takes those words Will used and gives his own version of the speech. However, he needs Will’s reassurance the whole time. Mike should be able to say I love you to El, without needing someone guiding him. I honestly don’t think that he would’ve ever said I love you if Will wasn’t there basically helping him say it. Also the whole love at first sight thing is bs, in S1 it’s obvious that Mike wasn’t in love with El. He was caring for her, and helping her hide from the bad men. In return, she was helping them find Will. Now whether or not Mike did develop a crush is different, but the fact remains that it wasn’t at first sight. It begs the question of just how much did he lie in this monologue?

The painting plot and Will’s love for Mike is definitely not over: Will lied about the painting. At the end of S4, Mike and El aren’t talking much. I imagine that this could be confusing to Mike, who told El he loved her like she wanted, and Will told Mike she needed him. I definitely think the painting will come up in discussion between Mileven. Mike won’t be happy finding out Will lied, and I think this is going to be a form of conflict between Byler. The only resolution I can see is Will confessing that it was his feelings. It was him who needed Mike. So- we’ve established two things: 1) Mike and El are not in the best place, they might even break up, and 2) Will needs to confess about what happened in the van scene. I think the only satisfying conclusion for these plotlines is Mileven breaking up and Mike realizing he likes Will. Argue with a wall.

Will’s ending being about romantic love and Eleven’s being familial love: I think that this would be the most satisfying conclusion. Eleven and Will are siblings now, but they grew up very different. Will is gay, so he probably thinks that he doesn’t deserve romantic love, he thinks he doesn’t have a chance (remember in season 3, with his mother? “I’m not gonna fall in love”). Will has so much platonic love in his life, as does Eleven. Will hasn’t experienced romance. As a queer person myself, I’m rooting for him, and I root for him to fall in love with his childhood best friend. crazy together. Eleven, on the other hand, needs a strong family. The Byers and Hopper is that for her, but in S5 they’ll finally be all together, and be the family that they’re meant to be. Together as one unit. She didn’t have the best examples of familial love in the lab. She didn’t have platonic or romantic love either, but meeting the party and Mike gave her that. However, as stated earlier, Mike and her are at the end of their ropes. There’s only so much love you have before you have to call it quits. I think with the “From, El” letter that was her being done with Mike. I can’t blame her. This boy does not cherish her like she deserves to be. If you are a fan of El, you have to know she can do much better than whatever this relationship with Mike is. Once you give your all and don’t receive that energy back, you feel the need to move on. I mean, she saved all of Mike’s letters and we see Mike on screen crumple up 2 and throw away one of them. This is a textbook example of not putting in the same effort. 

So yeah, I don’t know how to end this besides saying Byler endgame is the only possibility in my mind now. I don’t see how Mileven could be endgame, and if they were planning on that, they really wrote themselves into a bad spot. I definitely could’ve articulated this better, and there’s probably TONS of things I’m forgetting, but from a story standpoint Will x Mike is the only thing that makes sense going forward.

Alejandro had given Rodolfo space. He knew better than to try to explain to Rodolfo that it wasn't him, that Mateo had done it. Mateo would only combat it and Rodolfo would be confused and would get upset. Alejandro didn't want to confuse Rodolfo.

So, he'd texted him that he was sorry and that he would give him some space. And... it'd worked. Rodolfo was now actively laying on Alejandro. Alejandro had always considered Rodolfo like a giant cat. You couldn't acknowledge that Rodolfo was laying on you or he'd go away.

So, Alejandro was doing his best not to, just petting his hair and closing his eyes. "I was thinking... You keep getting stressed about the venue for our wedding, what if we just used the ranch? I like the idea of an outdoor wedding."

"We wouldn't have to worry about venue dates." Rodolfo nodded a bit, looking up at him and smiling. Alejandro leaned down and kissed him softly.

"Exactly." Alejandro nodded when he pulled away and laid back.

Rodolfo laid his head back on Alejandro's chest, again. "Mateo suggested we use the church. But... I don't know, I don't want to do that."

"Of course, he would," Alejandro muttered. Mateo knew what the church was to Alejandro. He knew that Alejandro would rather die. He was likely trying to start another fight between him and Rodolfo.

Rodolfo furrowed his brows and looked up at Alejandro. "I don't understand why you're so cruel to him. He doesn't do anything to you."

Alejandro looked up at the ceiling. No, he couldn't keep doing this. He needed to put a stop to this. "It's just... petty brother shit."

"He's my friend, Alejandro." Rodolfo sat up. He shook his head and Alejandro tried to stop him, but he left a moment later. Alejandro could only imagine what Mateo had put in Rodolfo's head that would make him think Alejandro was doing this out of malice.

Alejandro prayed this would work. He'd talked to Alvarez, who hated Mateo almost as much as Alejandro. She was going to distract Rodolfo while Alejandro talked to Mateo.

So, Alejandro went to the room where Mateo was hanging out, drinking coffee, and reading a newspaper. Just like their dad. God, he hated him.

Ale was with him, having somehow understood that this was basically a mission even without his vest, and so he was dutifully by Alejandro's side.

Alejandro pats his head before going to Mateo. "We have to talk."

Mateo looked up, raising an eyebrow. "Oh?"

"You're leaving." Alejandro dropped Mateo's bag on the table in front of him. "I'm not letting you continue to disrespect me in my own base."

Mateo stared at the bag and then laughed. "Yeah, no. I'm not going anywhere. Rudy's going to be upset."

"Don't call him that, you don't get to. And... no. You're leaving." Alejandro shook his head.

"Who's going to make me?"

"Me." Alejandro glared at him. "I think you forget. You're just a friend to Rodolfo. I kick you out, and he's going to be mad at me, sure. But he's not going to choose you." Alejandro hoped Rodolfo wouldn't choose Mateo. "The most you do is comfort him after problems you cause. He won't need that if you're gone-"

Alejandro huffed when he hit the wall, Mateo holding him by the throat. God, it was fucking pathetic, Mateo had to put all of his weight on Alejandro, but... Alejandro didn't fight back. He knew better. He just stared at Mateo. "You feel better?"

"If you try to make me leave, I will tell him you tried to kill me." Mateo snarled.

"Okay." Alejandro nodded.

Mateo looked into his eyes and Alejandro resisted the urge to slam his own skull into Mateo's as hard as he could. No. He couldn't fight back. Mateo's eyes narrowed. "You're not the only one who's slept with him, you know that, right?"

Alejandro's heart sank. No, he knew Rodolfo wouldn't cheat. Mateo would have come to Alejandro about it the moment it happened. "You're. Leaving."

Mateo laughed. "He thought I was you, of course. It was so easy."

He's lying. "I mean it. You're leaving."

"I know about the tattoo on the inside of his thigh. The rabbit-"

Alejandro saw red. In fact, he had himself braced to just tear into Mateo, but he didn't even get the chance.

"Mateo! Let my fiance go!"

Alejandro relaxed, immediately. Both looked over at Rodolfo in the doorway, and he looked pissed. Ale was by his side and Alvarez was a bit behind him. She nodded a little at Alejandro and Alejandro relaxed.

He shoved Mateo off, flexing how easy it was.

"Rudy," Mateo quickly stepped back, blinking. "It was self-defense-" He stopped and both picked up that Rodolfo had a tablet in his hands.

"No, it wasn't, you fucking liar. I saw on the cameras." Rodolfo turned the tablet around, showing them the camera feed. It showed the room they were in right now.

"He threatened me." Mateo pleaded.

Alejandro snorted. "That camera has sound. We leave witnesses in here, so it helps to have sound." He went over to Rodolfo, wrapping his arm around him, and kissing his temple.

"I want you to leave," Rodolfo told Mateo, "and don't lay another fucking hand on my fiance, again."

"Rudy, please-"

"You heard him." Alejandro glared at Mateo.

Mateo's expression changed. "Fine-"

"No." Alejandro shook his head. He'd been the recipient of that sudden vitriol. He wasn't letting Rodolfo deal with that. "Get the fuck out, silently. You don't get an exit speech. Leave now, don't say another word, or I'm going to drag you out."

Mateo glared at Alejandro but grabbed his bag and finally left.

Ale snarled at him as he left before he just sat and tilted his head at Rodolfo. Alejandro didn't waste time pulling Rodolfo into his arms. "Alejandro, I didn't-"

"It's okay," Alejandro murmured, kissing Rodolfo's hair.

"I didn't know it was him..."

"I know." Alejandro wasn't going to let this go unpunished. He would text Valeria, later.

"I'm sorry, I should have listened to you." Rodolfo looked up at Alejandro.

Alejandro smiled and touched his face. "Maybe, but it's okay. It's over now. Just... stop talking to my family, okay?"

"Okay." Rodolfo nodded.

Alejandro leaned down and kissed him. "Can we discuss using the ranch as our venue, now?"

Rodolfo nodded again, smiling.

Zoro’s a bit (a lot) confused as far as neo pronouns go, but he’s got the spirit 

He’s as transmasc as the next feral swordsman you’d find on the Grand Line, but pronouns have never really been a thing that he’s had to put too much thought into (in Zoro’s mossy brain: he/him is typically used for guys, so he’ll use he/him because he’s a guy, easy)

Zoro knows that’s not the case for you, though, so he’ll make adjustments to his vernacular accordingly

He slips up every now and again grammar-wise, using the wrong subject and possessive forms here and there, but it’s nothing that a quick correction can’t fix - he’s always at least a little guiltily pouty too, so you can’t really stay mad at him, honestly

Bragging, though, is an artform that Zoro is clearly familiar with

He’s 100% supportive of your decisions and won’t stand for anyone who doesn’t (if you don’t want to cause a scene you may have a little trouble holding him back or have to discuss it with him beforehand because Yamato absolutely will call someone out on their bullshit when he sees it)

Sometimes you even get a little flustered or overwhelmed with the intensity and vigor that he supports you (very much the ’guns blazing’ type) but it’s all with an endearing air and the knowledge that Yamato only wants your best interest at heart
