"I wasn't obsessed." Andrew looks away from the fire so as not to acknowledge the evidence in the contrary.

he doesn’t just say “how was your day” he says “tell me about your day”. he is genuinely interested in hearing you speak and enjoys this little moment with you. he hears you ramble with a passionately look and with a genuine twinkle in his eye as you talk about your day; often with one hand resting on his chin while the other absently plays with a lock of your hair. he also just says “oh yeah?” “that’s cool baby.” while he keeps listening to everything you have to say.

he has a polaroid picture of you on his cell phone cover or in his wallet, and when he misses you, he usually takes it and with a silly smile on his face he runs his fingers gently over your face, as if he were stroking you.

he also loves taking candid pictures of you; you are like a work of art in his eyes and he can’t help but admire you at every moment, but that’s not enough, he needs to keep this not just in his heart. and, when you least expect it, you hear the sound of his camera and with a smile on his face as he looks at his camera; proud to have taken another photo of the love of his life.

if he sees you sleepy or even napping, he won’t think twice about gently resting your head on his shoulder or in his lap; stroking your hair and leaving a few soft kisses on your temple from time to time.

he always lets you taste something first of what he’s about to eat or drink; before he can even bring the food to his lips, he directs you, encouraging you to take a bite and he can’t help but smirk when you make a cute face like you’re enjoying the food. when he drinks something he puts the straw carefully towards your lips and looks at you while you take a sip.

he loves to see you doing your hobbies and he loves to see you draw. he thinks it’s amazing how you dedicate yourself to something you love and he always finds himself smiling looking at your concentrated face; he usually makes you tea or gives you some snacks and he always gives you a kiss on the head before sitting next to you; trying to draw something with you and for you.

he has a habit of waking up earlier than usual just to cuddle with you in bed; enjoying every comfortable, warm second with you before the two of you get up and go through the day. he snuggles up to you, putting his face on your neck and breathing deeply in your scent; letting himself be carried away by the unique and dreamy feeling of having you in his arms.

he helps you readjust your clothes; he holds the coat for you as you put your arms in, and he also adjusts the collar and helps you get your hair out of the hood. he buttons and zips your coats for you, wraps the scarf around your neck so that it covers your nose and makes you feel comfy and warm; and he always kisses your forehead when he finishes.

he always holds your hand while crossing the street or when you are somewhere with more people. he also protects you with his body when you feel shy or uncomfortable, as if that small gesture could protect you from the rest of the world.

him being your biggest supporter and encouraging you to chase all your dreams and goals; he knows it’s not easy, but he wants you to know that he will be by your side to lift you up when you fall, he wants to celebrate the victories with you but he wants to heal you from the defeats because he loves you and just wants the best for you.

he loves to sleep looking at you. your calm and soft face soothes him a lot and reminds him that everything is fine now; he wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you closer, leaving a light kiss on your lips before falling asleep with you.

he is actually timid about liking you and tries to treat you like just another friend because he doesn’t want to be too obvious; but the more he tries to hide that feeling, the more he feels.

he gazes at you a lot; he looks at you with his eyes shining because for him you are the most beautiful artwork ever. he never tires of admiring you. and he also likes to learn your little quirks and habits, and he finds them so, so cute and unique. but he quickly looks away when you look back at him.

he loves making you laugh; making silly faces from across the room, or making comments in your ear about something he noticed. he laughs along with you or stares at you with major heart-eyes while you laugh until your cheeks hurt. he also always laughs at your jokes — whether they’re good or bad.

he becomes more talkative and tends to ask a lot of questions about you. he tries not to overdo it but he’s just genuinely curious and interested about you; and he genuinely loves to hear you talk, it could be about anything, he puts his chin in his hand and looks at you fondly, encouraging you to say more and more.

he also hangs on your words. one day, you casually complimented him by telling him that he looks good in blue and you were pleasantly surprised to see he wore different shades of blue for the next whole week. even when you make a passing comment that you want to go to a certain artist’s concert, he goes online to check and secretly buys two tickets in advance so that he can surprise you.

he becomes more physically affectionate. there’s a sense of innocence in the way he touches you, whether it be something small like; touching your hand when you walk side by side, or knees touching under the table or a playful, casual pet on your head

he also tries to find excuses to hold your hand; subtly holding your hand a little longer after a high-five or asking for your hand so he can “read your palm” or compare the size of the hands for the hundredth time, or also to draw a small heart on the palm of your hand - letting you do the same to him later, so you guys have the same ‘tatoos’

he likes to look at what you’re listening to on spotify or what you’re saving on pinterest; because that way he learns a little more about your favorite things. and whenever he gets the opportunity, he starts talking to you about it, and he’s completely in love with the face you make when he asks you about your favorite band or something.

he also tries to like the same things as you, to understand you a little more and so that you have more to talk about; he always gives another chance for that movie or song he hated but you said you loved.

he constantly includes you in his future plans. he wants to hang out with you more and in hopes of you sticking around, he makes plans in advance, sometimes a few days in advance, sometimes a week, sometimes a month, sometimes even a whole year as he talks about about how he’ll help you decorate the christmas tree next december. and he’s always so conscious about whether you’re having fun to the point it seems he might be trying a little too hard and when you bring it up and reassures him, he sheepishly says, “i don’t want to bore you i guess, i want you to keep me around,“

he starts wanting you to stay the night. and he starts holding your hand more because although words may not leave his mouth, he really wishes for you to stay — to stay the night, to stay with him, beside him. and he holds your hand a little tighter each night and starts developing a habit of squeezing your hand before every goodbye.
