Mmm, yes, the Phineas and Ferb Marvel crossover episodes were better than Infinity War and Endgame.

Perry got to be a superhero and save all the marvel superheroes #4. The marvel superheroes were more in character than they have been for years in the “canon” marvel movies #5. Doofenshmirtz shooting the villains with waffles which was not only funny but an effective tactic?!#6. Baljeet Hulk #7. Candace writes marvel fanfiction #8. Stan Lee being the equivalent to the cabbage merchant #9. The villain song and dance number where Doof is leading them around getting them to commit petty crimes and they slowly die inside #10. just generally the marvel villains having to seriously go to Doof. Evil Inc and get his help albeit VERY begrudgingly #11. the humor was on point and actually clever #12. did I mention Perry being a superhero #like seriously when will marvel ever have the guts to make a platypus a superhero?#anyway #point is it was funny I had fun this was enjoyable and lighthearted and I miss when marvel was like that too #ah well #at least it spawned stuff like this

i think twelve and clara are starting to make sense to me but i don't think it's what moffat intended or how the ppl that like them see their dynamic

#they are so obsessed with each other but not as people but the ideas of each other.#twelve's whole character to me feels like the grieving immortal that no longer has anything as a buffer #between him and the weight of the universe. so he sees clara as this culmination of every one of the companions he's lost before #and that adds up. what w/ eleven meeting versions of clara and seeing them die. that adds up w/ clara's presence in heaven sent #faceless and just telling him what to do. she is the companion he cannot fail this time (but he also #cannot reconcile how one of the reasons he keeps someone like her around is /because/ she's mortal)#meanwhile clara bc of her time in the tardis and how she was treated by eleven. thinks herself to be more than she is #she thinks she's owed so much in her life and she thinks she can handle all of it. like ten in waters of mars #so she views twelve and the life in the tardis as an affirmation of what's so extraordinary about her #which is also how she sees danny. i think her character really sings if this is the main idea w/ her relationships with others #bc it's how the doctor acted around her when he first met her. not seeing her as a person but as an idea a mystery a means to an end #so of course as someone who becomes more and more like the doctor as time goes on it makes so much sense that this would be so central #just like how w martha's doctorfication arc it was about self-sacrifice and violence and death. bc that's how ten acted around her #twelve and clara still have the standard traits of doctor and companion of course. the doctor saves the companion when they're in trouble.#the companion remembers to care when the doctor forgets. but they're going through familiar motions as they #start to lose more and more of themselves by being around each other. bc they don't really see the other person #and that's why their dynamic is so obsessive and toxic #dr who #12 era #now this reading has made both characters make a lot of sense to me but also this has tanked my enjoyment of hell bent #in how clara's arc resolves. i won't elaborate more on that until i actually get to it on the rewatch though

hard fandom conversations surrounding moffat setting up the story around Missy in such a way that the next version of the character had to come back evil after her, or missy’s good deeds would be considered void and everything she did would literally have been hopeless and for nothing.

I mean, I enjoy a good tragedy, doesn’t bother me (like, i don’t like the story Unless it’s viewed as a tragic mess, but that’s a whole other post), but at some point y’all gonna have to look at this arc and realise that Moffat set it up so the master’s goodness Had to go unnoticed and unrewarded to be a successful moment of true virtue, and that therefore the next person to write the master would have to make them #evil to preserve that moment of good in the timeline.

The person you’re mad at is Moffat. Not Chibnall. It’s Moffat. He set the rules because his story was never once meant to make the master one of the ‘good guys’ now, and because this was a good way to explore their potential for good without ruining an iconic villain of tv that’s been around for 50 years, i imagine.

MLC questions because my memory is failing me

A) Does anyone know if there was ever an in story reason given for why Di Feisheng doesn't kill women?

B) I vaguely recall seeing/hearing that Di Feisheng was also poisoned in the battle 10 years back but I can't recall where or when I did, can anyone point me in that direction?

C) I cannot for the life of me remember if we were given any information at all about the third of the Three Kings. Did I just completely blank on this or did they really give us nothing?

#mysterious lotus casebook #di feisheng #I'm like 90% sure the meta reason for A is roughly 'we need Jiao Liqiao to survive this action he would definitely have killed her for'#and honestly anything along the lines of 'he thinks women are weak' doesn't really square against the fact that he apparently had 12 women #of enough recognized and respected rank in Jinyuan that jlq decided she hated them personally for his apparent regard of them #we also see a lot of women fighters among Jinyuan ranks in the first flashback so any sort of misogyny angle doesn't really make sense?#and to be frank if dfs imposed any binary division on the population I'm pretty sure the categories would be 'fighter' and 'non fighter'#like. he's clearly aware of gender but I don't ever get the sense that it's much of a factor in how he evaluates people?#and B seems like truth because it's pretty clear that both dfs and lxy were supposed to die/vanish in that fight #sgd's entire takeover plan kinda hinged on both of them being removed from the picture and how else was he going to make sure it happened?#and given the way we see dfs heal in the show him being poisoned is also the only thing that explains why it took him 10 years to recover #he bounces back from injury absurdly fast he shoulda been out of that cave in like a month tops unless something was interfering

not to yet again admit to my life-long embarassing attachment to the harry potter movies but the reboot specially after so little time feels straight up disrespectful.
